Why the Middle East Will Always Be in Your Future – Update (Transcript)

“The very first article I ever wrote for The Plain Truth when we started in December of 2008 was an article entitled, ‘Why the Middle East Will Always Be in Our Future’. It pointed out that regardless of what the news of the day is, whether it be shootings or blizzards, volcanos erupting, or wars in faraway places, that ultimately the news always gets overshadowed by some trouble in the Middle East.“.

Hi, this is Bob Barney for The Plain Truth Today.

I want to get into why the Middle East is always going to be headlined in our future. It could be a thousand years ago, with town criers telling everyone about it, but the Middle East was in the minds of the crusaders that were going to free the Holy Land from the Muslims. This is when the crusades began.

Throughout history, the Middle East has always been a source of controversy, news, strife, and warfare; just downright problems often.  When I wrote in 2008 to be frank, I wrote that for other sources and other magazines before that some twenty years in fact before that publishing. The reason why is because it came to my understanding back in 1975 when I was a sophomore at the University of Connecticut, where I majored in Political Science, that no matter what was going on before Vietnam for example, everyone had Vietnam on their mind; now who has it on their mind now?

In October of 1973 there was the famous Yom Kippur War, Golda Meir was the first and only female prime minister of Israel at the time, and the little, tiny nation of Israel was attacked by all sides, by Arab nations. This is when Egyptians moved over to the Sinai Peninsula, Assyria and Lebanon attacked, and Israel was surrounded. For the first 6 days of this war which started on the day of Atonement, the holiest day of the Jewish people. This is also the holiest day for the Christian people, that is a subject for a different time, but Israel was attacked unprovoked, without warning.

Keeping in mind that many people predicted this attack and knew it was coming, Ariel Sharon became famous because he did not observe this holy time as he was supposed to, he was ready for battle because he knew it was coming. Sure, enough the Arabs attacked Israel. It appeared for five days that Israel was going to be defeated and annihilated. They already had a nuclear bomb, at least one, maybe more. It has been reported in some historical journals that Moshe Dayan, at the time who was the defense minister of the Israeli Parliament, ordered the weapon to be used that met the atomic bomb.

Vietnam was the main stay of most of the newspapers in the 60’s but in 67 the second Israeli war happened when they took over the west bank, the Israelis did…and 1973 happened all over again. In that case similar but not anything like 1973 but like what happened just a few months ago, Israel was almost annihilated. If it weren’t for some very brave soldiers and tough politicians including Mier, Israel would have been annihilated. America was not trying to defend Israel at the time.

This was fresh on my mind and I didn’t really understand like I do today what was going on in the world and again, it came to my mind listening to Garner Ted on the radio every day, I found him very fascinating to listen to, especially his political views even Moreso then his religious views. I will tell you a story about when I found out he was an evangelist. I decided not to listen to him for a week, yet I found myself going back because he had incredible knowledge of world affairs and was very apt at explaining all of it. His points.

In 1975, I listened to a program and because the Middle East will always be in your future, no matter what the news is today, all the sudden out of nowhere, the Middle East will grab the headlines of your newspaper and TV shows.

There is a reason for that, it is one of the proofs that God is real, the God of the Bible is real and that God’s prophesy in the Bible is real.

When you read the Bible and you understand the prophesy of the Bible, this has nothing to do with religion btw, it has to do to with being scientific, historical, political and fact that the Bible has accurately predicted what is going to happen in the future.

The Bible is tomorrow’s headlines written 3000 years ago.

The Bible said that the Middle East, especially Jerusalem, will be a point of contention for the whole world for the rest of history until Jesus returns. Again, it sounds religious here, but this is not a piece of religion.

You know when Jesus Christ returns to this earth it will be news, even CNN and the anti-God NBC will have to cover that if they are still around.

It is going to happen.

That is not a religious prophesy, that is a news event that is yet to happen, and it will happen because God is real, Jesus Christ is real and His Word as it is written in the Bible is real. What He predicts in the future will come true. If in your lifetime I do not know nor can I say but it is true that the middle east will always be a hotspot and take precedence over all the other news, why? Because the whole world sees that an ending world war will begin in the middle east.

So, when I wrote in 2008 which we do reprint from time to time and after this program I will have our news editors post it again, because no matter what happens in the meantime, your year will not end without some Middle East story taking the headlines. Sometimes a few years will go by and the Middle Easta seems to go away but when everything else goes away, is anyone talking about Indians attacking white people anymore? Is anyone talking about Japanese aggression anymore? Maybe they should because that is going to happen but that is another story, but the news that headlined, are we concerned about losing another 2000 soldiers this week in Vietnam?

When I grew up, Vietnam was all in the headlines but in between was news from the Middle East and it was never good and basically about warfare and a possible WWIII and nuclear exchanges and the Russians attacking the Israeli’s and Americans coming to the defense, and things like that.

Again, when you look at the Bible and read the Bible and think you are reading it as a religious doctrine or book, that may be true on some level, but it is an historical book. It is a predictive book…written by God Almighty and inspired through God Almighty…by understanding what is on the pages of the Bible you can understand the news. I often say, I am not an evangelist, I am a news man.

Our God happens to be news.

 In our opinion, God is the ultimate news because God can change what the news is going to be and no one else can.

When we saw the terrorist attack that happened on October 7 in 2023 that brought the Middle East and the problems back to life, who would have guessed a year or two ago the antisemitism of the world, of the left, of even Hollywood Elite, and Hollywood has a lot of Jews in high positions…? The antisemite of even themselves like George Soros who in WWII turned in fellow jews so he could stay alive while they were butchered, that is the kind of man George Soros is…that’s who is paying for most of the major district attorneys across this country who are allowing criminals to go loose. America is lawless today and lawlessness is prevailing because of the likes of George Soros and leaders like him who are evildoers, who don’t believe in God, and are useful idiots of Satan. You get the result we are getting, hatred, antisemitism, and warfare.

Who would have guessed all this just two years ago! Would you have guessed that some of the most famous people you know are antisemites?? Now you find out that they are because two years ago they were too busy about George Floyd on the news; a made-up story at that.

Rush Limbaugh (who was featured in my podcast yesterday), called them the “drive by media” because they cover a story ad nauseum and never talk about it again because it really was never a story to begin with.

But you see with the Middle East, it always comes back in the headlines and antisemitism will also always be as well as Anti-Americanism. There is a reason why they’re antisemitic and anti- Americans because they both go hand in glove, the people who are anti-smites are anti American. Could there be a reason for that? If you listen to this show, there is a reason for it and you know what it is. English speaking people in the world, America, England, New Zealand, are of the lost tribe of Joseph and are the brother of Judaea who is the father of the modern Jews. As I point out countless times in the past here, all jews may be Israelites but not all Israelites are Jews.

The reason why there is an antisemite and anti-American type relationship going on with the evil people of this world is because Satan knows who we are. You may not know the identity of this country, but Satan knows the identity of this country. This is not religion; Satan is as real as Jesus Christ and you and me are. He is as real as the things you can see with your eyes and touch with your hands and so are Satan’s demons, they are real.

Satan knows who the English people are in prophesy as well as America and he hates God’s people.

I say in many broadcasts that your government has become your enemy, and that they hate you and want to see you killed; there is a reason for that. Your government today is controlled by evil Satan inspired leaders who hate America and who hate Jews. The Jews are our brother according to the Bible and you can see it as an historical document, one with much research and archeology, every single story of the Bible proves to be true. It is provable history. Therefore, it is obvious for you if you know who we are, why the same people who hate Jews, hate Americans, Great Britian’s and Australians and why our leaders today hate us.

When someone hates both Americans and Jews, they are really telling you that they hate God and that is The Plain Truth.

Yes, regardless of what is going to happen today in the news or next week in the news…or a year from now in the news, there will always end up being a world-shattering event that comes from The Middle East. As I said earlier today, such an event will not happen with Vietnam, Vietnam will not always be in your future and believe it or not, neither will China, or Russia…the Middle East will be.

We get bogged down with the present and the Bible claims 1000 years of man equals one day to God. So, what we think is important to God is just a twinkling of a moment, a billionth of a second in God’s timeframe. What is so important to us is not important to God. Maybe we should focus on understanding what is important to God because that is what is going to be important to us. The Middle East is important to God. Jerusalem is where God’s home is going to be again. The Temple Mount is going to be where that home is located and will be called the Temple.

Remember, once again, try and see this as not religious in any way, this is fact that is being revealed through parts of the Bible and it will happen. As every other prediction the Bible makes for this time to happen.

 Alexander the Great read about himself at the temple steps in the book of Daniel as it was presented to him, or the scroll at the time. He read about himself words that were written 300 years before he was even born. He was so inspired by what he read about himself he spared the temple and didn’t spare any other temple of the lands that he conquered.

 Yes, time and time again, prophecy proves to be true.

 So how does this fit into your idea that it is a religious thing? Can you see how it is a political thing? The greatest newscaster who ever existed was Jesus Christ. Gospel music or Gospel writings, people don’t even realize that “gospel” is Old English for good news.

IT IS NEWS.

The newscaster was no one other than Jesus Christ of Nazareth. He told you what was more important was the news of the future.

If you read a newspaper today, except for the weather, and they are often wrong in their predictions, you are reading yesterday’s headlines. Today’s headlines are yesterday’s news. The only thing that tries to predict the future is the weather report which 7 out of 10 times they get it wrong; they still do try to predict the future. You don’t really need to know the news that happened yesterday.

If you are going to be in a building and an employee is going to come in with a gun and forty other people dead, it doesn’t help you for it to be reported the day after it happens. Frankly, it would have been more important for you to read it in the paper the day before that it was going to happen. Now, that cannot happen as we understand it but honestly it does happen.

The Bible predicts things that will come true.

Man lies. God does not lie. God promises certain things are going to happen and they are going to happen. One of those things is once again that the Middle East will always be a burdensome stone for the entire world. There will come a time in maybe our lifetime and maybe down the road, there will be a time when every army will surround every city of Jerusalem to annihilate it, only to see this bright star…a bright sun…and become brighter than the sun and larger than the sun, coming down from heaven Like a meteorite. It will be the Lord returning as He promised to do.

I am not teaching a religion here; it is the news of the future that is going to happen whether you want to believe it or not. God doesn’t need you to believe in Him to be real.

I had a friend of mine who was an atheist who told me sincerely, “how can you believe in a God that allows tragedy and little kids to die and suffer…allows world wars to slaughter millions of innocent people…I don’t want to believe in such a God” My response was, “I am not telling you God is fair, maybe God is cruel, maybe He is mean, but if he is cruel, mean and unfair, and a sadomasochist, He is still God and he still exists whether you like Him or not”.

Thank God, God is none of those attributes and He wants to save mankind from itself, but The Plain Truth is that you not liking what God does, doesn’t make God not real. That is just a total fallacy and a total bending of reality for you to be satisfied that there is no God so you can go and do what you want to do. Cause havoc in life, and lawlessness, coveting your neighbor’s everything…etcetera. We have lawlessness because our leaders are working on the side of the devil.

The good news is that they will not succeed in the end and God is going to succeed because He promised He will.

Jesus said in Matthew 24 that it would be a time like the times of Noah, and you know what happened in the times of Noah, everyone was destroyed except 8 people and the creatures in the ark. It is implied that it will be at a time of greater danger than any time in the past, including the time of Noah, or will ever be again. 

In fact, he goes on to say, unless those days were shortened, God intervened and stopped what was happening from continuing, he adds, no flesh would be saved alive, not an animal or a person would be alive at this world ending world unless God comes in and intervenes.  You may think that is religious, no it isn’t, it is a fact, a fact of the news. * Jesus was the newscaster predicting His own return and He is going to return and King of Kings and Lord of Lords. You can bank your life on it. 

The Bible is real.

 It is real news. It is news of the future.

Like I said, frankly you don’t need to read the newspaper as to what is going to happen to you tomorrow, yesterday. You want to know what’s going to happen tomorrow, the day before. Because when it happens to you and don’t get a warning, if it is a shooter coming into your workplace you are going to die. But if you could miraculously open your newspaper up the day before…

…there actually was a show called Tomorrow’s Headlines. This man when his wife came home every evening, she saw tomorrow’s newspaper at the door. It is kind of a religious show which I am not sure they intended it for it to be, But God was speaking through that show, and He will get His message out when He wants and where He wants.

This guy would work all day and night long to stop bad things from happening.

But that is the kind of newspaper you need to read, one that will tell you what is going to happen tomorrow, not yesterday, you already know what happened yesterday.

Guess what? There is such a paper that will tell you what is going to happen tomorrow. There is one and it is called The Plain Truth.com. It is a website that focuses on tomorrow’s news so you can be prepared today.

Yes, we covered what happened yesterday like any other news entity and what happened in Israel the day after it happened, but we try to also predict what you are to expect to happen. That is what this broadcast is about now.

The Middle East will always be in the future, no matter what age you are. When you are 80 years old and ready to die and if you are, hopefully God will let you live longer, but if you are an old person, you are going to have headlines of the Middle East. The Plain Truth’s job is to help our readers see what tomorrow will bring.

Tomorrow is going to bring wars and rumors of wars and earthquakes and volcanoes and death and destruction, the death of children, innocents, the maiming of children and pregnant women, nuclear radiation, and the absolute end of the world if He doesn’t intervene. Thank God He promised that He will.

Do you know what the ultimate headline is? The Plain Truth’s ultimate headline is when Jesus’ feet touchdown on this earth since the first time since around AD 33 and He is going to defeat the enemies of man in this world. He is going to defeat the devil. He is going to tie him up and throw him in chains and throw him into a pit which is hell. People don’t go to hell, the devil will live in hell for 1000 years however and be banished from mankind and a universal peace is coming to America…to the world, to Africa, no more suffering, no more starvation, no more children dying, no more cancer.

That is the good news. I am not a prophet of doom, but doom and gloom are in your future but so is the ultimate reward. The ultimate headline that is coming is peace in the Middle East and in the whole world. That is the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

He is bringing a government, not a religion. He is bringing a government with laws, namely the Ten Commandments, rules and regulations and a way for mankind to understand peace and not learn about war. Ultimately the last newspaper will be the return of Christ, the return of peace on earth and good will to all men. That doesn’t happen on Christmas day, that is not when Jesus was born, that is a fallacy and a pagan religion, but ultimately there will be peace on earth and good will to all men and God will be raining on earth as our King. He won’t be elected by the way; He is coming to be King whether you like it or not. Then the Middle East will stop being always in your future.
