Bob Barney: The Bible clearly shows us that the year is comprised of exactly twelve (12) thirty-day months or 360 days. Of course, we know that the year is 365 1/4 days long. What about those 5 1/4 days? Well, that’s an easy fix. Although God has 12 thirty-day months, He also uses the spring equinox to “fix” the date of each new year. He simply has 5-1/4 NO days a year! The last five days are simply not counted. Why is this? The answer is that it has everything to do with Noah and the flood. Originally, the earth took exactly 360 days to encircle the sun. The moon also took exactly 30 days to circle the earth (today it is 29 days and some hours long). After the flood, the earth slowed on its axis, possibly because of the weight of the water that fell to earth and filled the oceans; thus, causing the earth slowed and so did the moon’s circling of the earth. The calendar went off kilter and mankind throughout the ages, all around the world has been trying to “fix” the calendar. There is no perfect calendar today and that is because of the proof of the flood.

Hi, this is Bob Barney with The Plain Truth Today broadcast @ 711 in the morning and yesterday I started talking about the day when the day begins in God’s calendar and why it’s important to you.
I left off yesterday where I’m going to start off today about how God’s Day and how God’s calendar represent God’s plan for your life. I think most people are searching for their truth in their life. Or as I would like to say the plain truth in their life. You have to eventually if you’re going to be honest with yourself realize that there is a creator God and I think we can easily prove that that creator God is Jesus Christ and God the Father, the God of the Bible. Everything around you, as the Bible says, proves the existence of those two beings as being God.
The birds know, it the animals know it, everything created knows it except man.
Man does not know it because man is in rebellion against God and has been since the garden of Eden.
The God of this earth according to your Bible and you can find this if you look, the God of this earth saved the devil. He was placed here to be king of this earth…Adam was placed here to replace the devil as king of the earth, but Adam sinned, and he did not qualify. So, it took God himself to become the savior of mankind. The God of the Old Testament became a human baby in the womb of a virgin and was born Jesus Christ. That is the Jesus that existed that we know on earth. He is the God of the Old Testament he is the God that made the calendar, made the daytime, He’s the God that said let there be light. And light started at day when light begins.
When does the light begin? In the morning.
When does the day end? At the end of the evening… at the end of the night… ending at the beginning of the morning as the sun is just starting to light the earth. The old day is ending, and the new day is beginning. When the sun breaks forth, the day begins.
The Bible, as I’ve told you this entire holiday time, proves God’s calendar and God’s daytime…when it all happens and why it’s important.
Something we always do this around Passover time is very important… it’s important to follow if you’re going to follow the holidays…well, I mean God’s holidays. Not everyone is required to follow God’s holidays unless they do the right preparation. The only holiday you are mandated to observe is the Sabbath. The holidays will be mandated, and you can prove this and the Bible in the book of Ezekiel for example and the book of Isaiah too you will see the holidays all of the holidays of God, Passover to Pentecost, the day of atonement…they’re all coming back. They are coming back with the millennial of Christs return to earth. Christ did not come to abolish the law he came to fulfill it and He did not come to abolish his holidays. Christ is the same today as he was yesterday and will always be. Christ does not change therefore we see the verse from the God of the Old Testament where Jesus Christ says, Israel I do not change therefore you are not consumed. Jesus was so angry at Israel.
He would have destroyed them, the people of Israel because of their disobedience to him. He was going to destroy them. But he made a promise to his friend, Abraham, the person in the Bible who is called a friend of God. If we want to be anything in our life it should be to be a friend of God. God, Jesus Christ, promised Abraham that he would be the father of the most blessed nations of the world and so because Christ does not change the people were not destroyed. I do not change therefore Israel you are not destroyed. That’s a great blessing and that’s a great friendship stop that this God who is Jesus Christ had with a man like you and me, a person called Abraham.
But getting back to what does the day in the calendar represent in your life…I ended yesterday by saying when you are born it’s a spark of life, it is light… like the spark of the sunlight you are born into being as being represented in the day and when you look at a 24-hour day that represents your entire life cycle.
Listen to this… you were born at the beginning of the sunlight in the morning. You are a child for four or five hours a day which represents your childhood…early morning. This is breakfast time nine o’clock 10:00 then by noon time and a little bit before maybe, it represents your adulthood. This is when you’re making a living…when you’re married you have children, you are in the prime of your life and that is noon time all the way up until 5:00 or 5:30 at night. This is where’s sunset happens and that represents the daytime this represents the middle age time of your life.
This is the time when you do the most work, the time that you do the most progressing in life…even of your brain development and of your what you achieve in your life… this is during your 20s 30s 40s fifties. Then comes right before dinner time… in comes the evening and that represents the evening of your life this is your 50s your 60s and you realize like I realize today I’m 68 going on 69, that your life is basically in the past and what you have now is a gift of God. The life you have left is the gift of God.
When you’re 68 years old isn’t it nice to know that 70 years old is a good long lifespan. You’re hoping that you could live to be at least 80 years old 85 years old. When you hit 60 the evening of your life you realize that your life has gone by you and that things look different to you at 60 than they did at 30… at 30 death seems a long way away periods but at 60 it seems a little bit closer. And at 70 it seems a heck of a lot closer.
So as the evening of the day approaches it represents the evening of your life span. Now what does nighttime represent? As I ended last nighttime represents the time when you’re an old man until you die and when you die it represents when you fall asleep at night and falling asleep at night represents being dead… and yes as I pointed out yesterday, you’re death represents when you go to sleep as the Bible says that all people are asleep that are dead.
And you see the apostle Paul in first Corinthians the resurrection chapter that proves that everyone is still in their graves to this day that has never lived and died except Jesus Christ. That the death shall be awakened and given everlasting life if you’re a Christian and you become immortal, you become gods yourself and because you are God’s children. Every night in fact represents your death.
You know when your children do not want to go to sleep at night and they cry and moan saying can’t I stay up? I don’t wanna go to bed they say… they’re afraid of going to bed just like you’re afraid of dying…you’re afraid of dying just like a little child is afraid of going to bed and you cry out to God I don’t wanna die God I want to live longer isn’t that true?
Well that’s your death so you go to sleep let’s say you sleep 8 hours you are in the grave for a long time you’re in the grave until Christ returns that is the plain truth and the next day when sunrise comes and maybe the birth of a new person but your life, the beginning of the second day represents the great light that people are going to see in the sky which is Jesus Christ returning to earth and he’s going to be brighter than the sun according to your Bible.
When He returns, the dead in Christ will rise from the dead and you will awaken to the next day.
Let’s say it’s the 24th hour and the third minute of the next day waking that waking up in the morning represents your resurrection from the dead. So, the day is a perfect representation of your entire life period from your birth from your death to your resurrection of the dead at Christs coming… isn’t that amazing?
That in just a 24 hour…and in a minute of a lifetime or life span I should say timespan, that you see the entire plan of God for your life. I find that amazing you can even go to the calendar everything happens in seven months.
Passover starts in the spring in fact it starts on the 14th day of the first month. Pentecost is like the summertime, so Passover represents your birth the new year really…represents your birth… Passover represents your childhood, the newness of it all. The time when the crops are planted and they’re springing up out of the ground like little, tiny baby crops they’re like it’s the same symbol being a productive human being… now starting on May 29th. The whole summer goes by it’s your productive years that’s when the crops are fully maturing ready for harvest and then comes the fall the autumn and the fall festival the day of atonement and then the feast of tabernacles which represents your senior years and then the feast of tabernacles represents your death and your resurrection the last great day of the feast represents God’s God the father coming to a new earth that’s going to be formed which you can find in the last few chapters revelation it’s so simple if you understand God’s calendar so you will not get bogged down in Pagan holidays.
God is not happy that you follow Christmas, I’m sorry, that is the plain truth. He’s not happy about that because Christmas probably is the creation day of Satan the devil. Santa Claus is Satan as his name is in the name Satan. Santa Claus is really a Pagan God in Babylon. He was a big fat red bellied god that people started a fire in honor of this fake idol…a big fire and the pagans threw their children in it and that’s what the word Yule means…it means child. They would tie them and burn them on the Yule log. This all represents the burning of children within the holiday called Christmas and if you’re expecting God to accept that, it’s just not going to happen. Think on this…it would be like taking abortion and making it a holiday of joy and if you can do that in your mind then you might be a liberal.
Now, one can be following Christmas in ignorance and be under the belief that it’s the birth of Christ. We have proven btw that it isn’t as the Bible suggests Christ was either born in the springtime or more likely on the day of atonement… but the point being if you’re following it and you don’t know better, God forgives you… it’s your heart that matters, not your sacrifice…not what you. If you do what you believe and believe what you are doing is right, God will forgive you. The catch is this, once you learn the truth when God opens up your mind and you can prove it to yourself in the way He is showing you, and then through tradition you just really still want to stay with it then you are then in jeopardy of making God mad.
There is no child that was ever born on this earth that had better Christmases than this man you’re listening to right now, Bob Barne. I grew up in an idealistic home in the 1950s and 60s. My father worked day and night different jobs so he could give us everything we wanted and needed… he wanted us to have the things that he did not have. I lived fairy tale childhood. If I wanted a pony, I got a pony… a police uniform, I got a police uniform… if I wanted a marine uniform for Christmas, I got a marine uniform… whatever toy I wanted I got.
We were the first family to have a color TV and have a second car…the first to have a swimming pool even. My father worked day and night so we could have what we wanted…I was a spoiled child I’m not saying I was a spoiled brat, but I was a spoiled child with acquiring things. I had the greatest Christmases of anyone that I know. If you saw pictures of my Christmas with all the presents under the tree, we would wake up at 3:30 in the morning and run downstairs there were three of us three boys, I’m the youngest of three boys no sisters. And we would go down at 3:30 in the morning and open up all our present and my brother Vic my brother Bill and myself would probably have 15 to 20 presents every Christmas. I loved Christmas. We decorated everything…the trees, the house… but then I started listening to Garner Ted Armstrong in 1975 and I did not want to do it…I did not want to believe what the man was telling me…although, it was the plain truth! I did not want to because I realized it would take away my Christmas.
My second most favorite holiday for me of the year was easter. We would get together at my grandmother’s house and have an easter ham, which is just degenerate to God to eat pork in the first place, in fact it is condemned to eat pork, think about that, His holiday supposedly…allowing such a thing. Astarte is the pagan goddess that this easter name is rooted as. In the Old Testament, the Astarte poles are mentioned, that God absolutely detests people following easter. Easter is a pagan holiday representing the god Tamuz who died and was resurrected from the dead and is the story from Babylon that atheists try to prove is the story of Jesus Christ. It is not. It is a perversion of the story by the devil. That is what Easter represents. I am sorry to break this to you. Again, you have not known a person who had a better or more family oriented easter times then I had.
For four years I struggled from 1975 till 1979 not wanting to believe what I am telling you today. This is the last thing that I wanted to do was give up these holidays. The last thing I wanted to be follow Holy Days that didn’t make sense to me, or Sabbath Days I didn’t even want to honor Sunday anymore and had rejected God in my teenage years. I learned about evolution and listened to a voice that tore apart everything that I thought was real. I realized what I believed was all based on a lie. I am trying to say this to you today, it is time that you look at what you believe and find out why you believe what you do. Your parents and your school have told you what to believe and what to you. You can prove that it is wrong and that is the point. You can go to the Bile and see what God wants you to do. If you read it as a book and believe the words on the page and do not change the words on the page to fit your tradition, you will see that you will have to give up these days. I did. Do not think to this day that I don’t understand how happy I was to follow them…and how hard it was for me to leave them behind…but I will do anything my God asked me to do…including these programs. I am not a gifted speaker or a gifted person…but I understand God’s plan and His plan is wonderful for us, we suffer a little bit today and sacrifice a little bit today for a brighter tomorrow….and it is brighter than what you are being told in any churches that you are going to. His plan is for you to be God. Your destiny, let us make man in our image, we weren’t made after the mankind as cattle was made after the cattle kind, we were made after the God kind…in Gods image, we are children of God in the womb…waiting to be born again at the resurrection of the dead…when we are born immortal, as spirit, as God. That is our destiny! Isn’t that far greater than what you have been told our destiny is??? we are literally going to be God’s children…like God…that is wonderful news. It is a lot better than anything could be and worth giving up easter and Christmas and the cherry notions that I had and follow the will of God. Trying to become God’s friend, because to me, the greatest achievement I can make before I die and I am not there yet, is to know that I am God’s friend. That God is my friend. God will move heaven and earth for me as he did Abraham. That is what you should struggle to find as well….as relationship with God that surpasses any desire that you have in your heart, and you will have your heart’s desire once you have that relationship.
The Year represents the lifespan of a man.
So, as I have said, why do we only go to 7 months in holidays in the whole 12-month cycle? Because the wintertime represents the time yu are in the grave. Cold…dark…grave. Just like winter. And the springtime with the beginning of the new year, represents when you will be resurrected from the dead when Jesus returns. The plan of God as revealed in God’s holy days and Gods daytime that begins in the morning is far more intriguing than the calendar that we follow, the Roman day that we follow or the Babylonian night that the Jewish people follow which makes no sense.
God makes sense!
God gave you a brain to be a rational human being…to use that brain, to use it when reading the Bible, to get answers to the life’s questions that you have. Thes answers to most of your questions can be find by looking in the bible and by praying to God. IF you are sincere in your prayers, God says, those that seek me diligently will find me…He doesn’t’ say, “MAY FIND ME”…he says, “WILL FIND ME”. God is not a liar. Humans are liars. He is not ly8ing to you if you pray diligenty and are willing to givev up everythin g for him, or them, be honest, it is two of them…then God, Jesus the Father, and Jesuss the Son, will come to you and thy will start answ3ering quesitons foryou. They will start blessing you in ways that you have never been blessed. All of the sudden your mind will be open to the mind of God, and you will start reading the Bible and begin to understand what you couldn’t the year before…all of the sudden you are going to read the scripture and it is going to make sense. This is because the God that lives in your Bible is going to show you things in the Bible that will make sense, after you search for Him diligently and find him.
Your life will change. Your life will change forever, and you will become a different person…and you are supp9sed to be. Thats what baptism represents. You go down as if you are dying, and then you are reborn into a new spiritual being in the womb. The whole ide3a by the way in John that you have to be born again, it has to do with the Greek meaning of the word, and it doesn’t mean to be born again like the churches teach. It is about the entire process of the sexual act, the impregnation, and the process in the womb and the delivery. When we must be “born again”, we must become baptized, get the Holy Spirit and become a new creature in the womb of the church which is our mother and some day after we die or if we are alive during the tribulation and survive it, then we are instantly turned into a resurrected spiritual body and we become God.
That is a comforting message if I hav3e ever heard one, because life is very uncomfortable, growing old is very uncomfortable. When you grow older and wiser, as we live in a generation today where our children really do not respect the knowledge of elderly peo9ple, we actually reject them, we want to be modern, we think people over 60 don’t know what they are doing. If they were smart, they would want to get as much out of their senior citizens as much as they can…as they have yet to experience certain things and there should be respect…the only commandment that has a promise is that if you honor your mother and father that you will have a long Iife, this is the 5th commandment. We are to honor our elderly people and realize that they have knowledge. Like I said, as you approach that season in your life one of the things I would save, I do want to have one of these shows that talk about questions and answers, I don’t have all the answers, but God does, so I will have a special broadcast about that. I have 45 years into my faith and think I can answer most questions and answer most objections to what people think is wrong with what I believe. I have thought through most objections people come up with because I came up with all of them myself because I fought what I believe today…because I thought it would change me in a way I didn’t want to be changed, I am glad I did follow and change though and become the new person that I am. Because ow, I understand God and my purpose your purpose, and the mind of God. God wants you to understand their mind as well. That purpose to you and to your life.
The daytime, the day that begins in the morning, and the calendar that begins in the springtime, all represent the promises that are coming your way from the Holy God of your Bible. I hope you find that God and I hope you continue to grow with that God. and to learn to be the friend of God and invite Him in to be your friend. God will be the b est friend you will ever have. No one can do for you what He can do for you.
God says in Jeremiah3227.com (go to that website for our fasting and prayer day for this country) God says I am the Lord is there anything too hard for me to do? There is nothing too hard for God to do. When God becomes your friend, you will find a God literally willing to move heaven and earth for your sake. That is a heck of a friendship. Better than any person you will find on earth.
This is the end of the two days about God’s calendar and the meaning of morning and nighttime, and the plan of God through His calendar and His day. This is as we approach the new year, March 20th and the Passover, April 2d and 3rd, and the Feast of Unleavened Bread and First fruits. This is all that is coming and it is a pretty special time that our God has prepared for us.
