 Friday Wrap-Up with Bob Barney May 1 2026

Hi, Bob Burney, Friday wrap-up time. I’m still a little recovering from the elective surgery I had, so my voice is strong. I’ve been taking medication, but please bear along with me and we’ll go onwhat happened during the week and go on a little bit what is going to go on tomorrow on the podcast with the Saturday morning show and the Saturday evening entertainment show.

But the first thing I wanted to talk about was one of the constant things, excuse me, I’m sorry, one of the constant things that I keep talking about what’s going on here, which appears to be, and it’s more than appears to be, it is corruption within the Trump administration amongst the Trump family itself. And this morning we put up a story again on the message board, Trump’s sons cash in on dad’s war with Iran, and it’s in the Daily Beast, and it’s about the Trump family is officially set to cash in on the president’s war with Iran by selling drones to the Air Force. We covered this a little bit last week as well, $24 million of worth of drones is going by a company owned by Eric Trump, or he’s the biggest investor, and Don Junior’s in on it as well.

And another story that we had on The Plain Truth sometime this week, I forgot which day, but also the Trump coin that they’ve made $325, I believe, million dollars on in the first year of it has collapsed by 90% in its value, and only investors lost money. The Trumps made $325 million off what appears to be a total scam with their Trump coin, and it’s their version of a Bitcoin. And one of the insiders, one of the people who put in the most of the money to start this coin now admits that it was a totally fraudulent scheme right from the beginning by the Trump sons, and Trump probably himself, to enrich themselves off the back of Trump supporters who went out in droves and bought the thinking it was going to be bigger than Bitcoin, and it’s lost 90% of its value.

The same thing with Truth Social, by the way. That’s a website owned by Donald Trump that I have a problem with that he only gives official government messages on a privately owned by himself website called Truth Social. Well, former Congressman David Nunes, who was in charge, he was the CEO of Truth Social, stepped down after its value of its company on Wall Street dropped by almost 95% of its value, where the initial investors have lost a fortune investing in it.

And it seems like any business that Donald Trump ever gets into, he makes a lot of money, but anybody that’s his partners or investors lose a lot of money. Donald Trump has made a career, if you really study in his real estate, by making money off of loaned money. One example, for example, the Trump Taj Mahal in Atlantic City, he got the financing from a bank for 6.5% personally, and he sold the business out, had his name attached to it, but he sold it on the stock market to investors.

A friend of mine was a major investor in it. And what he did was he charged an 18% interest rate off the loan that he gave for it. And if that’s not, again, a corrupt thing going, he made 12% interest on a 6% loan, and everybody who invested in stock in the Trump Casino in Atlantic City lost everything.

Donald Trump walked away with a billion dollars, and everybody else lost everything. Well, this has continued in this administration, which I say right now, I think is going to go down as one of the most, if not the most, corrupt administration. And it’s going to even be maybe General Grant’s administration, which was totally filled with corruption.

And it goes on and on and on. And if you go to the Plain Truths message board, and it’s still up there on the main first page of the message board, we have a string called America Has Never Seen Corruption Like This. And it’s about all the corruption going on in and around DC, amongst Democrats, as well as amongst Republicans.

But it also has every story, basically, of the Trump family enriching themselves. First of all, it’s pretty bad when you think about it. They’re making a fortune off the Iran war.

If Barack Obama owned a company that was selling arms to the government, and he got into wars, there would be this mega outcry of impeachment, of putting him in jail, of putting Hillary Clinton in jail for her crimes, which I believe they both were criminals and deserve it. But my point being is everybody who supports Trump turns a blind eye to all of these problems of apparent corruption going down. 

Even J.D. Vance has corruption linked to him, as well as Pete Hegseth, it looks like, and they’re denying this story, but it looks like with Pete Hegseth, for example, his investments in certain military companies, supply companies that supply the military arms and other things that he’s invested in, since he became defense secretary, is kind of illegal, because he is profiting from a war that he is continually keeping Donald Trump into.

And according to sources very close to the situation, they claim that even Vice President Vance believes that Pete Hegseth is misleading Donald Trump about the war that’s going on. If that’s the case, this reminds me of Vietnam. I grew up in the Vietnam era.

My brother, my oldest brother, went to Vietnam, was in Da Nang. I’m very familiar with Vietnam veterans and their problems. And this is starting to remind me more and more of Vietnam and a war that we should not be in.

And in fact, it’s more unpopular than the war in Vietnam. Well, the next thing I really want to talk about is this Virginia vote, which has been held by one of the judges in Virginia to be unconstitutional, and he blocked it completely. They can’t even move forward, where 1.49 million people would get one representative, and 1.5 million people would get 11.

And if you think that’s fair redistricting, you know it’s not. And I’m glad it got stopped, and I hope it continues to be stopped. I don’t know how the Virginia Supreme Court is going to act.

But here is Governor Gilmour, ex-governor Gilmour, talking about the issue. I’m going to play this for a little bit. Helps my voice as well.

But anyway, he was one of the best governors since I ever was in Virginia. When I first moved to Virginia, the car property tax on your vehicles was more money than the payment of the car and the insurance put together. No lie.

If you had a new car, you were paying somewhere in seven to eight thousand dollars a year in just car property tax on a brand new vehicle. And Gilmour was able to get it cut in half. He wanted to take it to zero, by the way, but even his own Republican legislator body did not want to, excuse me, go to zero, because they, like all politicians, they want to spend your money.

But this is what he has to say about this move by the Democrats to redistrict Virginia. Hi, I’m Jim Gilmour, the former governor of Virginia, former United States ambassador to the OSCE, and along the way was the attorney general of Virginia and the chief prosecutor elected in Henrico County. So I’ve been around a little bit, and I want to say a few things to all of you all about the redistricting that’s going on right now, so that you can just be alive to it as it continues to develop.

What we, of course, have here is a very major majority of the Democratic Party in the state legislature right now in the General Assembly. So what they’re doing at this point is passing legislation that, in my view, creates really a one-party government again, and this has gone on through redistricting, through a very unfair redistricting, and it’s gone to Governor Spanberger, who originally said that she was not likely to sign any kind of redistricting, and now, of course, she has signed it. So that’s kind of where we are here, but let me talk to you about this for just a minute.

Number one, there are technical reasons why I think this is really bad. Number one, the ballot language that was on the ballot was misleading. It was official language on the ballot that people saw in the voting booth, and it said that, number one, it was intended to restore fairness.

Well, that’s not true. It was not intended to restore fairness. It was intended to create unfairness on behalf of the Democratic Party, because what was going to happen here was this redistricting was going to change the districts from likely where we are today, which is six Democrats and five Republicans, all by a neutral development process on that, to a new districting that was going to create ten-to-one Democrats.

So that’s unfair. It’s unfair because, as we’ve seen from the referendum, it’s basically a 50-50 state. That’s exactly what it is, a 50-50 state, and there should be almost what we have today, six and five, not ten and one.

Thank you. And we’re back with the Friday wrap-up, and I wanted to get into one last thing about this redistricting thing, and it’s just so misleading. It’s unbelievable, and I want to pick up here a commentary, again, about what is going on in Virginia, and it’s very important for the national election as well, and for the reapportionment of delegates and everything else.

So here’s another scenario where people are asking who’s in charge of the government. Is it thelegislature? Is it Louise Lucas? Is it Governor Abigail Spanberger? And we are wondering who ispulling the strings here, and it looks like this whole process with these amendments and the vetoes, it’s going to spell, there’s a lot of implications to come with this. It certainly points towards a troubling direction for the Commonwealth of Virginia.

I mean, taking a step back, over the last two legislative sessions before this, you had Governor Glenn Youngkin, a Republican, and you had, you know, majorities in the House and Senate for Democrats, Speaker Don Scott, Senator Louise Lucas, sort of the top in each chamber, and the dismissive nature towards the governor, you could chalk up to partisan political posturing, you know, and there’s a lot of good work that still happened across those two years, but things somehow, under complete Democrat control, got worse, and you have a strong assertion by the General Assembly leadership that they’re in charge, that the governor’s opinion on legislation, you know, does not matter, that she’s somehow outside of the legislative process, and that any of the amendments that were offered were, you know, at the 11th hour, and somehow inappropriate, and it’s just fundamentally not how it works in Virginia. No, the entire process is not how it should work in any state, and we started it, I will admit, and I’m going to be the first to admit, Trump started a lot of this with his redistricting of Texas, which probably is not going to really produce that many more Republican seats, if any, but he started it, but at the same time, before you can say he started it, California did this a long time ago, New York did this a long time ago, Illinois did this a long time ago, Minnesota did this a long time ago, it’s, you know, the Democrats are actually like,this is brand new, Donald Trump started this stuff, and it’s just not the plain truth, the plain truth is the Democrats have been stealing elections and redistricting by stealing and gerrymandering districts and states where they control for 50, 60, 70 years, and Trump maybe should have been a little bit more quiet when he asked Texas to do something, because I think states should really wait for after the census to redistrict, they shouldn’t midterm between the two censuses, I think that was a tactical error, but then again, I think Donald Trump’s made a lot of tactical error in 2.0, and the next one I’m going to get to is this Comey indictment, I mean, it’s just everybody that’s listening to this knows it’s retribution, has nothing to do with justice, I’m not a James Comey fan, I think he was a lousy head the FBI, I also think that he broke the law, honestly, when he tried to trump up charges against Trump, that’s a wordplay there, but that it’s over and done with, and you’re not going to get a crime prosecuted, and the Attorney General, the acting Attorney General knows it, he’s playing a game, he’s trying to please his boss Donald Trump, and it’s just not good for America, as the same thing, we move on to this war that’s going on in Iran, the one thing going on good right now, I will admit, is the blockade, the blockade probably was the first thing we should have done, we should have shut down the Strait of Hormuz before the Iranians did, and we should not have started bombing for two to three weeks after we started starving them of their oil money, and then, unannounced, we really should have taken out their leadership, and the idea that Israel knew where they were all at one time and had to do it then, well that would have been fine, you could have done that first, and then go back and then blockade Iran, so they would run out of money, but the bombing for three weeks that went on and did all that damage, really didn’t end up doing much damage at all, and the other problem, even with the blockade, there is a report that’s going around that I think has been proven to be true, that they’ve caught about four or five ships with Iranian oil on it going to who knows where, probably China, but some 34 ships did escape the blockade, and then you got to wonder how good is our navy with the Strait of Hormuz that we cannot cut it off, if indeed 34 ghost ships, they’re called, made it through the blockade with oil, still bringing money to Iranian officials, and this, you know, it’s always, it’s like the Ukraine deal, when Donald Trump said when he first became president, he’ll have it over within a week, probably in a day, and then all of a sudden we’re now, we’re 14 months into the new administration, Ukraine war is raging on, Ukraine’s doing a good job, by the way, but it’s still raging on, and it’s always peace right around the corner, it’s going to happen any moment, how often have you heard that? The same thing going on with Iran, and it’s gotten to the point where the average American, and I know many Americans, because I talk to a lot of business people, a lot of painters, a lot of people in general, and many of the people I talk to, like myself, supported Donald Trump, and I don’t find too many of them today very happy with Donald Trump, at least if they’re in business. Now, there are a lot of employees of businesses who don’t have to pay bills, and don’t have to worry about tariffs, don’t have to worry about a lot of things, that are still supporting the war, because they think it’s not hurting their pocketbooks, I guess they don’t understand the price of gas right now has to do with this war, and they may not understand that, but I have said from day one, we have to defeat Iran, but we should have prepared the world and America a lot better for it.

This has been a comedy of errors, and the next subject of a comedy of errors is the shooting that took place at the White House reporters, what do they call it? I don’t know, meeting, banquet ball, with the president attending, and some nut from California, who was reported as a guy, turns out he’s really at least half black, which makes him fully black if Barack Obama is the first black president, who is also half black, so this guy is fully black, according to the Democrat standard, and he rushed into the Hilton Hotel with a shotgun, and a pistol, and a knife, and shots were fired, mainly, it looks like only, probably only, from the Secret Service, they shot at least five times, some reporters said 11 times, we’ll find that out probably in investigation, but the point is, at point blank range, a place crowded with reporters, and other innocent people, the Secret Service, the EOE, or DEI, they call it today, Secret Service, missed the suspect, with all 5, 6, 7, 10, 11 shots, whatever it was, did not hit him, in fact, it’s possible, and most plausible, the Attorney General, the acting Attorney General said, that most likely, the agent who received a bullet to the chest, and his phone, and bulletproof vest saved him from being any, injured any seriously, but he was probably shot by a Secret Service man, and if that doesn’t really bother you, I don’t know what does, I really don’t know what can bother you, if you don’t see a problem, that our Secret Service can’t shoot straight, you read the Daily Mail, the next day, when they were, I love to read the comments, half of the Daily Mail, and it was just one thing after another, was the Keystone cops on vacation, and that’s why they’re filling the Secret Service had to show up, it’s just not even a legitimate answer, that you can shoot that many times, either 5, 6, 7, or 11 times, and end up not hitting the suspect at 20 feet away, it’s just, it’s just something that I’m sorry, either there’s something we’re not being told about what happened here, and I will also say without agreeing, but I would say there is a pretty large minority of Americans, and I’m not even an account, the liberal Democrat Americans, I’m saying the mega type of Americans, who are now all over the internet, claiming they think this was staged, and what helps it along, is the next day, Donald Trump says, see this is why we need the White House ballroom, was that an honest answer, absolutely not, Donald Trump does rallies all over the United States, he does rallies in stadiums, and public events, the idea that the White House correspondence dinner would take place in the ballroom, is slim to none, and it was a convenient political excuse, to say that’s why the ballroom has to be built, and the judge who stopped it, you know, basically he’s trying to say he was like a murderer, and here’s the next thing, the day after that, you have Lindsey Graham, and you got so many senators now saying that this ballroom that Donald Trump promised would not take a dime of taxpayer money, and he, what’s he ends up doing, they say we’re going to spend 400 million dollars of taxpayers money to finish the ball, ballroom, another lie, all we keep hearing is lies, and we go on to this Fed chairman, Mr. Powell, he’s finally going to step down, and Walsh is probably going to take over as the Fed chairman, but again, you have this whole fiasco, with Donald Trump trying to get even with somebody, because they would not listen to him about lowering interest rates, when interest ratesshould not have been lowered, and to be frank about the matter, they, he’s tried to harass him,threaten him to put him in jail, started an investigation, and if it wasn’t for Senator Tillis of North Carolina, a Republican, who said I will not allow the new Fed chair to take his seat, that forced the Trump administration to back off the lawsuit, or not the lawsuit, but the criminal indictment of James Powell, the Fed chair, and it’s, it’s just bad politics, it’s bad all the way around, it’s going to really resound in November, because regular Americans are seeing what it is it’s all about, and it’s not good, it’s that simple. C.S. Lewis, a very, a very famous author, Christian author at that, died, I believe on the same day John Kennedy was killed, November 22nd, 1963, he died, he wrote Chronicles of Narnia, and some other famous books of the day, but what this AI did, it took all of his quotes about the Sabbath day, and put it together with audio, sounding like him, or trying to, to show you his case for why the Sabbath day is so important for us to follow to this day, and he makes a very great point about how the prophet Daniel talked about the Antichrist changing times, days, and Sabbath days, really what he’s talking about, and holidays, and how the Catholic Church did that, and how it is an affront to God, because as he points out so accurately, when you take the God, the day that God sanctified, and say it doesn’t mean anything anymore, and you take the God, the day that God did not sanctify, and that becomes the day of worship, you are telling God he doesn’t know what he’s doing, and you don’t know what day it should be, and you are blaspheming God, and you are going to have to pay a retribution for this someday in the near future. It’s a very good, I believe it’s about 35 minutes long, it’s really, really good audio, it’s, there’s a video there, but it’s just, you just see a picture of him, and you hear the voices, but it’s, it’s a good Sabbath study about the Sabbath day, on the Sabbath day, and I hope everyone, if you believe in the Sabbath or not, I hope everyone takes the time and watches this episode, C.S. Lewis on the Sabbath and why it has not been done away with, and why it is against God’s law to do away with it. It’s the only commandment, as he points out, that nobody wants to follow.

They always want to put the Ten Commandments in your schools, and in your courthouses, and everywhere around the United States, but they don’t want to follow the Ten Commandments themselves, the ones that want to put it all there, especially when it gets to the fourth commandment, so, which is honor the Sabbath and keep it holy. Then, tomorrow night at 7 11 p.m., last week, remember, was what, the 114th anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic, and I decided to put up a full movie, but it’s a shorter movie than most of the Titanic movies. One of the best ones, by the way, is A Night to Remember.

It’s black and white, it’s about two and a half hours long, and I think it’s probably one of the most accurate portrayals of the Titanic disaster of all time. The newest movie by James Cameron about the Titanic, with a love story that was all made up, of course, it’s like a historical novel there, but it basically has a lot of, in my opinion, a lot of false claims about what really went on, and I think it’s more Hollywood than most of the other Titanic movies, but the one I’m playing tomorrow night is called In Remembrance of the Titanic. It’s a 1979 colored movie.

It’s a colorized movie, unlike The Night to Remember, which is black and white from the 1950s,and it’s a very good rendition of the official story, at least, of what happened to the Titanic.Although, if you follow along with my writings over the years, we post every year of when theTitanic sunk, and we have videos, and we do a lot of commentary about the sinking of the Titanic,because it was one of the major, major events in all of the 20th century, where a lot of people died needlessly, and there’s a lot of questions about what really happened, and why it really sank, and there’s conspiracy theories, there’s all kinds of other theories, but for the most part, it’s, there is questions that just does not seem to make sense with the official story, one of which is that iceberg did the damage, and there is, if you go to the main page, I’m sorry, to the message board and type in the search engine Titanic, you will come up with all the stories of the Titanic, including a story by an author who claimed it was a fire on board that is known to be true, a coal fire in a bunker, that was so hot, and the cold seawater on the opposite side was so cold, that it actually popped the rivets. The Titanic was not welded together like modern ships, it was bolted together with rivets, every 12 inches, and that, you know, to get a rivet out of, when you’re trying to remove a rivet, you put ice on one side, heat on the other side, and it pops right out, and his author claims that’s what happened in the iceberg story, was in order to collect insurance, and not malfeasance, and anyway, that’s all can be found on our message board, we have a lot of information, more than probably any one site you can go to, about the Titanic, and tomorrow night, in remembrance of the Titanic’s 114 year anniversary of its sinking, on April 15th, the same day Lincoln was shot, and the same day your income taxes are usually due, always a bad day, I guess, April 15th, no matter how you look at it, but it’s a good movie, it’s, like I said, it’s, it’s, it’s, it’s within reason of watching on a, on a computer screen, but those people who know to cast it to their TV, can do so, and watch it on the full screen, it’s pretty good quality as well, from YouTube, that’s tomorrow night at 7 11 p.m. Sunday, I don’t have a Sunday program, because it’s too early, Friday, I did this on the earlier side, and completed it in the morning, but Sunday, we’ll, we’ll have a weekly wrap-up type video on, from YouTube, it’ll be one of the TV shows that covered the week in review, we like to use Mark Halpern a lot, and what we may do, but I hope everyone has a safe weekend, a great blessed weekend, I hope everyone follows the Sabbath day tomorrow, as God commands, and until Monday, Bob Barney, and I hope I have a better voice, and I hope I feel a hell of a lot better, Bob Barney saying goodbye, thank you for listening, bye-bye.
