This is Bob with The Plain Truth Today, and welcome to the show. 

God only knows…God makes His plans. The information’s unavailable to the mortal man.

 Well, that’s what Paul Simon thought. That’s what I think many people think. In my estimation it seems that not many people understand the plan of God. Sometimes, even I have to admit, I don’t understand the plan of God. There is something that we can use to try to understand God’s mind and that will help us understand what God wants for us… and that is the Holy Bible. 

I’ve said before, we don’t ever charge for anything on this show. The commercials that you see, if we do a YouTube podcast or something like that, those are commercials that go along with YouTube and have nothing to do with The Plain Truth Today or theplaintruth.com. We get no reward, no money from it.

Jesus Christ never charged anybody for anything He said, and neither do I. Theplaintruth.com is an advertising free, except, like I said, where there are other shows that we’re showing on the podcast, but we’re an advertising free. Once in a while, we plug the business that I’m in, the business that I own, but most people are not into buying automotive paint anyway. So, I don’t believe we get too much business from this show. That is not what it’s supposed to be. This show is the plain truth.

The plain truth requires us not to be holding to any adversary. The only personage we’re beholden to is the Godhead, the Father and the God Jesus Christ and as we know Him to be, the God of the Old Testament called Yahweh. He is also called Yahweh, Jehovah, which then became Jesus Christ. That’s who we’re beholden to, and we are not beholden to the advertisers that would come on here and give us a lot of money to be able to plug their product. If we did that, maybe somebody would swallow it and take it and believe in it because we produced it and we advertised for it.  Then they can come back and tell us, well, you shouldn’t talk on this subject. 

5:54 What do you think happens with TV news and with all the big pharma companies that are spending all of this money on all your TV news shows? You think that when there’s an anti-pharmacy or medicine-type story that is uncovered, do you think they have some pressure, maybe not to give it too much airtime, maybe to make sure they don’t have anybody comment or have a commentary against a certain drug? The drug industry controls print media, controls TV, controls a lot of the Internet. People may not know that, but it does. So you’re bombarded with advertisements that is trying to get you to do things, and those advertisers are sometimes, most of the times, in my opinion, do not have your motives at heart. 

So with The Plain Truth, we don’t advertise, and we don’t accept advertising.

SO…is God’s plan available to the mortal man or does God only know what His plans are.  Is it unavailable to you? Well, believe it or not, there are parts of God’s plan that you will find out about the more you study the Bible. The more you understand God, the more you will understand there are certain things that God doesn’t really want you to know.  That’s the plain truth of the matter. There are things that God wants you to know. The major theme when you read the Bible, and the Bible, as someone pointed out accurately, is God’s love letter to us.

 It’s a manual of how we should live our life.

 7:54 It shows us examples of people of the past, people that opposed God and what happened to them. It tells about the people who tried to please God and could not, as well as people who tried to please God and in fact, did please God.

The idea that God only knows, and that God makes His plans, and the information is unavailable to the mortal man is not necessarily always true. I can tell you right now, there are times when things happen in our lives, we have to ask, why did God do this? 

My wife and I have been for two or three weeks now, reading the Bible every day this last week we have been in the book of Job. I have decided that we are going to do a program on Job which is a very difficult book. We won’t get into that now but as this is a brief show, I wanted to let you know that if you read the Bible, you will discover the following basic facts: that God does have a plan, and God is giving you that plan however, He’s not giving you all the details.

The plan is this…that God came and put Adam and Eve on this earth, to rule this earth, and to become the masters of this earth…the kings of this earth.  They sinned, and the consequence to that sin is death. Then God had His alternate plan, which I’m sure He had from the beginning of time, knowing man’s character. That alternate plan was that God Himself, the God who created Adam and Eve, the God that became Jesus Christ, would come to this earth and pay the penalty for sin, which is death. 

9:04 Sin requires someone to die. The person who sinned is to die, or someone greater than that person is to die. Since Jesus Christ was part of the Godhead, when He died on that cross, everything that Jesus Christ created was available to have their sins erased and forgiven. Everything. That even includes angels, that includes people, that includes any being created by Jesus Christ. He created everything.

 Just go to the first chapter of John…when you read all of the Old Testament books, from the first five books of Moses, to Joshua, Judges, to the prophets, to the histories of the kings and chronicles, when you read all of the Old Testament books, what you are getting is a foreshadow of Jesus Christ’s earthly ministry, which was to come, and what the plan of God is.

God was making His plan known, but I will admit, in the Old Testament, much of God’s plan was purposely covered over so they would not understand. 

10:26 Are you aware that even when Jesus was walking this earth, He did not want everyone to understand the plan of God? In fact, He really would agree with the song by Paul Simon in that He really wanted most people driving down the highway, slip-sliding away, and not understanding God’s plan. 

This in fact did happen…and you can read in the book of Matthew where he was given a bunch of parables that nobody could understand.

You know, I find it funny, because most people who ask, why did Jesus speak in parables will often hear that He spoke in parables to make things easy for people to understand, like little fairy tales that even children can understand. And his parables were to make things simple out of complicated issues. 

Wrong.

Jesus gives another example of why He spoke in parables, and it’s the exact opposite of what people teach in schools. When I mean schools, I mean Sunday schools, or Sabbath schools, or any other types of schools when discussing this topic. 

12:25 Jesus’ disciples one time came to Him, and they were kind of miffed because he’s running around saying these things, quoting these parables, and everybody is confused. So, they approached Him and asked, ‘why do You always use these hard-to-understand parables?’  Then He explained to them that they were only permitted to understand about the Kingdom of Heaven, but others were not. You can read that in Matthew 13, verse 11. Others were not to understand what the parables meant. Christ did not speak in parables to make things easier for most to understand. He spoke in parables so that no one would understand what He was talking about unless they had the Spirit of God in them. It was His Spirit that was to let them understand and open their minds to understand.  Then Christ quotes in Isaiah when He says, for to him that has will actually be given more, and he will have to great plenty, but from him who has not, even what little bit they have will be taken away from them. The rich get richer, and the poor get poorer. 

That’s what He’s saying, and He says that’s His will. That is why I use parables, so people will hear and see, but not understand.

This fulfills the prophecy of Isaiah. 

They hear, but they do not understand. They look, but they don’t see, for their hearts are far away from me, and their ears are dull and do not understand and perceive. They have closed their eyes like they are sleeping, so they won’t see and hear and understand and turn to God again and let God, meaning Christ, heal them. What’s that? Did you understand what was just said there? Jesus Christ is saying to His disciples, I am speaking in parables so that the world doesn’t understand me, because I am fulfilling a prophecy from Isaiah that the people are dull of hearing, they’re blind, they do not understand the things around them, they do not understand godly ways, they do not understand God, nor do they want to understand God. They only want to understand God when it’s convenient for them, and so He speaks to them in a way they will not understand, because if they understood in their sinful state and they turned to Him for healing, He would have to heal them, and He does not want to.

Yes, God does not want the world to be saved right now. 

God does not want the entire world to understand His plans. That is from the Bible. That is not from me. That is not from some holy roller trying to get your money. No, that’s Jesus Christ, the red-letter Jesus Christ speaking that He does not want to heal those people that were listening to His parables, because the time was not yet right.

It’s time that you really start looking into the Bible and begin to read it. I suggest getting an easy-to-read Bible. The Plain Truth does have a Bible. You can buy it on Amazon. It’s the only place you can get it, and I don’t make money for selling this Bible. It is something that you would need to purchase and in the book form, which is a 5-volume set, it is quite expensive. However, you can get a Kindle version for under 10 dollars. Many people find the Kindle version difficult to navigate because we don’t have chapter and verse in there, but neither did the real Bible. That is right, the actual Bible did not have chapter and verse. There’s other Bibles you can buy. You can buy a good Living Bible. I think the living Bible is better than the New Living Testament, the NLT, which is an easy-to-understand Bible, but the Living Bible, which is out of print, I believe, but you can still buy it all day long. If you put in The Living Bible by Tyndale Press, you will be able to buy an old copy of it. They still print them. They’re very easy to understand. They give you a lot of notes. It’s a thought-for-thought translation of the Bible. It is a paraphrasing of what is meant. It is not a word-for-word translation like the so-called the King James, or the New King James.

I know there are many scholars who really scoff at the idea that anybody should read anything other than the King James Bible. That’s nonsense. The King James Bible has many inaccuracies in it, just like every other Bible has translation errors in them.  Unless you can actually read in the Hebrew and the original Greek or Aramaic, you may have some translation errors.

13:56 Without learning Greek and without learning Aramaic and without learning Hebrew, I do believe you can, with enough resources, concordances and Bible lectures and studies, Matthew-Henry commentaries and other commentaries, I think you can get basically the real translation from any Bible that you read. I think it’s very good to go through and read at first, if you’re a novice to this Bible, to God and His Word, that you get an easy-to-read Bible. Examples of easy to read are the Good News Bible, the New Living Testament, and the Living Bible, like I just said. 

The Plain Truth Bible, you can get that like I said, on Amazon. Click here or you can type in ‘Plain Truth Bible, Bob Barney’, and it’ll come up. It’s five volumes, it’s a lot of notes. If you’re going to buy it, and if you have the money, it’s the best Bible you’re ever going to read, not for the translation itself because it’s modern English and it is more of a thought-for-thought and not a word-for-word, but it has notes that tell you word-for-word what everything means. You won’t get that in too many other Bibles.

For example, you won’t get in another Bible that you buy that there are two beginnings of the Bible. Two times in the Bible it says, in the beginning was, and you see that in Genesis, which everyone knows, but again, that is not the real beginning of the Bible. If you’re going in chronological order, what happened first was not in the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. No.

What happened in the beginning was in the first chapter of John. 

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, meaning God the Father, and the Word was also God because He was part of the Godhead. That takes place over eons, time not being countable in front of the creation of the heavens and the earth. Point is that that is the true beginning of the Bible.

16:25 The Plain Truth Bible goes into that. Before you ever read one chapter of the Old Testament, you read the first chapter of John to understand just who the God of the Old Testament actually is, what His name is, and how many beings are a part of this Godhead called Elohim in the Old Testament. If you have the money, it’s going to cost you about $350-$400 on Amazon. I get about $9 of that. The volumes are printed ‘to order’. I don’t know how they do it. Each Bible is thick. Each Bible is huge. They’re approximately 8 x11, I think and large print Bibles, and they come in the Old Testament in four volumes, and the New Testament is one volume. The study notes are second to none. It will explain scripture like you have never heard before.

 It’s going to explain the nature of the Godhead.

It’s going to explain the nature of mankind.

It’s going to explain what the first command of God was to all living creatures. Which was to have sex, by the way, if you just want to get to the nitty-gritty.

It gets to all the different definitions of things that people have mistranslated. 

For example, people think the Holy Spirit is part of a trinity, which is an absolute lie propagated by Satan the devil, and modern-day churches, and the Catholic Church especially misteach that God is a holy trinity. 

No, God is like the very human beings whom He has created, or they created, after their own likeness. God is comprised of God the Father and God the Christ. Those two are made up of the Holy Spirit, as humans are male, and female made up of flesh and blood. Flesh and blood in humans equal the Holy Spirit in God…is is God’s life blood.

Think about that. As I’ve said in many programs, what is the ultimate destiny of God? What is your ultimate destiny? What is that plan of God that you think is hidden from you and that you don’t know…and you’re driving down the highway slip-sliding away? 

Ready for it?

Well, that plan of God is that you are going to be God.

19:35 You’re going to be Jesus Christ’s brother. God the Father will still be your Father God, but you will be a God, too. You’re not going to be an angel. You’re not going to be a human being living on earth. You are going to be a member of the God family made in the image of God with the power of God. 

The God is not limited to two. The Godhead is not limited to three, like a trinity. The Godhead is going to be an unlimited number comprised of the children of God.

 Think about that. You’ve never been taught that. I will admit there are people who have said that in the past, but most people listening to me probably have never heard of Herbert Armstrong or even Garner Ted Armstrong or many of the other offshoots of those churches that did teach the idea that God is reproducing the Godhead. That He is reproducing the Godkind… just like we are taught in the first command of God which is for us to be fruitful and multiply and reproduce ourselves as in the image of God. 

So, my friends, what is the purpose of going over this idea, what I’m talking about today, and what does it have to do with the news? I keep saying that the Bible is former present day and future headlines of the news. The Bible is the news. It’s the news that you haven’t even read in our headlines yet, and yet most news sources that you go to for the news tell you what happened yesterday, which doesn’t really help you. The news of yesterday doesn’t tell you what’s happening tomorrow that they don’t know about.

22:02 Now, if there’s going to be a meeting, President Trump is going to go meet Vladimir Putin, you know, February 7th, which is weeks from now, or something like that, then that’s a tomorrow headline that they can give you today. But no one could give you the headline Los Angeles is going to burn down in a fire three weeks, three months ago. People were fearful of it, but nobody knew the exact time. It would have been nice. Wouldn’t it be nice if you opened up a newspaper or you turned on a podcast by the plain truth, and Bob Barney said in December 17th, you know, you better get ready for a fire in Los Angeles because January 15th of this year, fires are going to start by terrorists most likely, and burn the entire county almost down and hundreds and hundreds of thousands of people will be left homeless. Now, I couldn’t do that. I didn’t have that knowledge. God does. However, you have to admit that if I did have that kind of knowledge, and I warned you in December of last year, that these fires were going to happen, you have to admit one thing, wouldn’t you? That would have been the best news you ever had for you and your family. 

That is similar to what I’m saying the Bible is giving you. Better news than even having an understanding of the coming fires in Los Angeles or hurricanes in Florida or North Carolina or Alabama or Tennessee. AND that is, you know, there is going to be a worldwide catastrophe that’s coming. An economic and political catastrophe along with famine and disease and pestilence making COVID-19 look like a head cold compared to what’s coming. And Jesus himself in the greatest news prophecy, news headline prophecy of all times in Matthew 24, said this. As the disciples were hanging around the temple grounds, His disciples came up to Him and said, when is your prophecies about the end time going to come true? And Jesus replied, you see all these buildings? I’m paraphrasing my own Bible, by the way. See all these buildings down here? Well, now one stone will be left on top of another. Well, they said, when will this happen? And he replied, don’t let anyone fool you.

That is what’s happening today. You don’t understand that the news is fooling you, fake media, and your churches are fooling you. Religion is fooling you. The pulpit is fooling you. Don’t let anyone fool you. For many will come claiming that I, Jesus Christ, am the Messiah. They’re going to come in Jesus’ name saying, Jesus is the Christ, Jesus is the reason for the season. We’re a Christian domination church, and what? We’ll lead many astray. When you hear of wars beginning, this is not signaling my return. It must happen first. It’s not yet the end. Nations will rise against nations and kingdoms against kingdoms, and there will be famines and earthquakes in many places. all of this will just be the beginning of the horrors which are to come. You will then be tortured and killed. You will be hated all over the world because you are really mine.

We know there’s persecution of Christians today by the Democrats on the left and some other countries, especially Africa and the Muslim-led countries, but for the most part, are Christians brutalized in America?

Are they brutalized in Europe yet?

Well, if you think the discrimination against Christians equals brutalization, you don’t understand what’s ahead for all of us if we’re Christians living through the tribulation. We’re not going to be raptured away another false teaching by false teachers. You will be tortured and killed and hated all over the world because you are mine. Many of you shall fall back into sin and lead others back into astray. Many false prophets will then arise and will appear to many people. But those that can endure to the end will be saved.

25:55 The good news, the gospel, the old King James word, the gospel, just means good news, about the kingdom will be preached throughout the whole world so that all the nations of the world will hear it first and then finally will come the end. So when you hear the abomination that causes desolation as spoken of by Daniel the prophet, that’s going to happen yet, there’s going to be a temple in Jerusalem and that temple is going to have set up into it an abomination, then those in Judea, which is the real name of Israel, Israel is the Jewish people do not have the right to the name Israel, by the way. America and England are Israel, that’s the tribe of Joseph who owns the name. They are Judah and they live in Judea, they do not live in the land of Israel, Jesus Christ says so right here. Those in Judea must flee to the Judean hills. Those on their porches must not even go back before they flee. Those in the fields should not return to their homes and that is the day that is right before his return to this earth. When Armageddon happens, spoken of by many movies and many famous people you know, Douglas MacArthur rightfully prepared us way back on the Missouri with the surrender of Japan in 1945 if we do not find a more equitable way to solve the nation’s ills other than war, Armageddon will be at our door and Armageddon is at our door.

I’m not prophesying here, I’m not saying that I know the end of the world is happening next Labor Day, but I know the end of the world, and it’s really an end of an age, the world is not coming to an end. The age of mankind, the age of Satan, the age of evil is coming to an end. The Bible says so, that is the future headlines, those are the headlines of tomorrow that are more important to you than even if you knew the fires were going to come and destroy your home. Because even if you were to die in those fires, you’re coming back. You’re going to have to justify your existence to the almighty creators, Jesus Christ and God the Father. You’re coming back if you’re burnt to a crisp in a fire or you’re drowned in the floods in North Carolina. You’re coming back, you’re either coming back as a God in the form that you were one of Christ, and you had Christ’s blood covering your sins, and you understood the gospel of Christ, and you are going to be resurrected from the dead in spirit instead of in human form. But if you’re not a real Christian, you’re coming back, no matter what you think, you’re coming back to be judged, be judged by your works and what you did.

Yes, that is the gospel or the good news that Jesus Christ and his apostles and disciples brought to the world some 2,000 years ago, that The Plain Truth is bringing to you today.

They are the headlines that are yet to be fulfilled. That Christ is returning, that there is going to be a United States of Europe, led by a despot, another Hitler type…that there’s going to be a United States of Islamic countries encompassing the whole top of Africa, all the way over into Afghanistan and Pakistan…led by another Antichrist type despot…there’s going to be a United States, England, and the rest of lost Israel into captivity under that king beast of the north, and when all of this comes to head, then you’re going to find the very end of revelation happening if you’re still alive, that’s going to be frightening to all of those who are alive, especially those who have taken the image of the beast, or the Antichrist in Europe. Now at the end time probably going to move himself to the newly built temple in Jerusalem, proclaiming himself to be God or Jesus Christ, and then you’re going to find the battle of Armageddon happening, and you’re going to find that Jesus Christ is returning with His angels, and he’s not returning to face an election and needs your vote. 

29:25 No, Christ is coming back as He promised to be King of Kings, Lord of Lords, ruler of this earth, taking control and forcing His will upon you and every living being that makes it through the tribulation. Of course if you’re alive, and if you’re resurrected from the dead either as a human being again to be judged and maybe live all over again for a thousand years or so, to see if you can make it, or you’re willing to be a true Christian, or you will rise as a Christian, and that is the most important news that’s ever going to happen in your entire being.
