This, this is Bob Barney with The Plain Truth Today brought to you from The Plain Truth dot com.
I have a question. Does God have a calendar?
When does God’s Day begin?
Are the Jews right?
Are the so-called churches of God, the Christian churches that follow a Saturday Sabbath, right?
What does the Bible actually say about a calendar of God, His year and how long it is? What does the Bible actually say about God’s month, when it occurs, and when does the day begin?
I think a lot of people by the end of this program are going to be shocked, and I think some people are going to be mad because they’re going to think that I am taking the Bible out of context. However, I’m telling you right now the Bible proves what I’m going to say.
Let’s start from the beginning and get to the bottom of all of these questions:
When does God’s Day begin?
Did you know the Jewish people believe that God’s Day begins in the evening time? Because of this they believe that when the sun goes down it’s the beginning of a new day.
(1:16) Just from the face of it that sounds pretty stupid. It sounds backwards. I think most people would think not having any idea of God or the Bible or Roman time or Greek time, I think most people would say their day begins when they wake up in the morning. You know what, that may be God’s Day too and we’ll get into that. Jewish people follow an evening day only since the Babylonian captivity, because the Babylonian Empire followed a lunar calendar. We’re going to show you that Hebrews did not follow a lunar calendar and that the Babylonians followed a lunar calendar, which therefore presents the question of when does the moon rise?
(1:41) The moon rises in the evening and so therefore their day began in the evening. Believe it or not, the Bible proves two things. It proves that the Bible does not begin at the evening time and number two and most importantly, the Bible proves that the biblical calendar of God has nothing to do with the Jewish calendar or the Babylonian calendar.
(2:06) For example, do you know there is never a 13th month in God’s calendar? You might say something here, you might think if you don’t know anything about the Jewish calendar or if you’re not a Sabbath keeping Christian who supposedly knows the truth, you may say 13 months, there’s never 13 months in a calendar. Well, the Jewish people have a 13th month every three years because they follow a lunar calendar. Why? Because their lunar calendar is 11 days short of the real year. Every three years, they’re so far behind in their calendar they can’t keep up.
(2:40) God, for some reason is the perfect mathematical genius of all time. He has all of the planets in the universe set exactly right and because of Him, you can set your watch by the movements of the stars…and by the movements of the planets. As a result, you can set your calendars by all of this perfection and never be off one second in 1000 years! All because of God’s mathematical genius! Yet people believe that this mathematical genius…God…couldn’t get a calendar within 11 days right each year?
Do you believe that?
(3:12) Well, let’s go through the very first part of the Bible where people think scripture talks about an evening beginning of a day. I will say that when you really understand it, you will see it says no such thing.
(3:25) So it starts in the beginning…God recreated, that’s the right word, He recreated the heavens and the earth, the earth became formless and void, not was the word was a mistranslation, the real translation is the earth became formless and void, and darkness was on the face of the deep and the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.
Then God said, let there be light.
(3:53) Okay, you’ve been listening to my program now for a while and you heard me talk yesterday about the plain truth’s Red-Letter Bible. I had stated that in this Bible, whenever Jesus spoke, the words are in red including in the Old Testament. If you remember from yesterday or if you listen to that show, Jesus made it clear in the New Testament that no person at any time had heard the voice of God nor has anyone ever seen God’s form.
(4:19) Then who said let there be light? That is Jesus. Therefore, in red in The Plain Truth Bible it says, then God said in red, let there be light…and there was light…and God saw that the light was good. God divided the light from the darkness…and God called the light day. There is a hint in there…and the darkness He called night…so evening and morning were the first day. A better translation would be, so then came evening, then came morning the end of the first day. It is clear when we go through every verse here and every paragraph, that the completion of the day ends at morning time and the new day…the new creation day begins with morning.
(5:16) Verse six, then God said, let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let the divide the waters from the waters. Thus, God made the firmament and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament. And it was so. We’re not going to get into all the meaning here, I’m just trying to make another point. So God called the firmament heaven. And the first heaven of the firmament is really only the first heaven, what we would call the sky, or the atmosphere around the earth, just to let you know. Then came evening, and then morning, the second day. he second day again ends in the morning, just when the third day is beginning. Then God said, let the waters under the heavens be gathered together in one place, and let the dry land appear. And that became so. And God called the dry land earth, and the gathering of waters He calls seas. And God saw that it was good. Then God said, let the earth bring forth grass, the herb that yields seed, and the fruit that yields fruit according to its own kind, whose seed is in itself on the earth. And so it was so. And the earth brought forth grass and herbs that yield seeds according to its own kind, and that the tree that yields fruit in its own kind. And God saw that it was good. So then came evening when God really stopped working and then came morning, the completion of the third day.
(6:52) Verse 14, then God said, let there be lights in the firmament of the heavens to divide the day from the night, and let them be for signs, seasons, for days and years, and let them be for lights in the firmament of the heavens to give light on earth. And it was so. Then God made two great lights, one to rule the day, the sun that is, and one to rule the night, that’s the moon. And he also made the stars. God set them in a firmament of the heavens, that’s the second heaven. There are three heavens talked about in the Bible. First heaven is the atmosphere, the second heaven is the universe, and of course the third heaven is where God abides. And God saw that it was good. So then came evening, and another morning, the fourth day completed.
(7:42) Then God said in verse 20, let the waters abound with abundance of living creatures and let birds fly above the earth across the face of the firmament, the sky of the heavens. So, God created the great creatures of every living kind that moves and every winged bird according to its own kind. And God saw that it was good. And God blessed them. The very first command of God to all animals and man is an animal, man is not anything different than an animal physically however spiritually man is in the image of God. We’ll get into that too. But He said, be fruitful and multiply. The very first command to all animals and to man, Adam and Eve, was to have sex.
You know that?
(8:26) I know everybody thinks sex is a dirty thing but not when you do it in the way God wants you to have sex, which is between a male and a female not a male and a male or a female and a female…or even a female and an it, and an it and a female, whatever you want to call it these days, you know, a man’s 57 genders. No, to God there is a male there is a female. The two become one, the two become one flesh and through sex they have children. They are fruitful and they multiply. So evening came, morning was the fifth day. Then God said, let the earth bring forth the living creatures according to their own kind, cattle after their own kind. This, by the way, proves evolution is not true because the very premise of evolution is that one day a fish became a frog, one day a frog became a reptile, one day a reptile broke off, one became a bird, and one became a mammal. But the Bible is a scientific proof here that species can only give rise to the same species.
(9:32) If you’re married and you have children, when your wife or when you were, if you’re the woman, were pregnant, you worried about many things. Was the child going to be well, have both arms, both legs? Was it going to be healthy? Was it going to be fit? But you never worried that it wasn’t going to be another species because you take for granted the law that all species give rise to the same species. Disproving evolution right there. God made the beast of the earth according to its kind, the cattle according to her kind and everything that creeps on the earth according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.
Then God said, let us make man in our image.
(10:12) You notice he made the cattle after the cattle kind. He made the goat after the goat kind. He made every seed after the same herb kind. But when it comes to man, God makes man after the God kind, because we are going to become gods someday. That’s what God is doing. God is reproducing themselves, and you’re going to see something. When people say there’s only one God, there’s not two beings or three beings. There are not three beings, by the way, right now. There’s only two beings, God the Father and God the Christ. But this is every translation of every Bible, including the Hebrew Bible that the Jews follow. Then God said, let us make man in our image according to our likeness, and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, and all things that creep upon the face of the earth. Us, our, more than one. Hmm. Here goes the idea of monotheism. Now, there are two gods, God the Father, and God the Word, and the Word became flesh and became Jesus Christ. God created man in his own image. In the image of God, he created him. Male and female, he created them, and God blessed them, and God said to them, be fruitful and multiply, fill the earth and subdue it, have dominion over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves. And God said, see, I have given you every herb, and we go on to this, and he talks about what he’s given them to eat and stuff like that. And God saw that everything was good, verse 31, and indeed it was very good. So the evening came, and then the morning, the end of the sixth day. When? In the morning. That’s simple, friends.
(12:08) Then the seventh day begins, the Sabbath day begins in the morning of what we call Saturday, and it ends in the morning of what we call Sunday, and we’re going to prove that in the New Testament next. A common sense reading of this scripture dictates that a day ends and begins at sunrise. The events of each day are given to us chronologically. First, the creation activity is described. Second, we are told that evening has arrived. The word evening is a time marker.
(12:39) Yes, it tells us that sundown has now occurred, but we are also told that morning has arrived next, and morning is also a time marker. It tells us that sunrise has occurred, and we are told that the first day was completed because sunrise had just occurred. For the sake of those who have falsely been taught and believe that a day begins at sundown, let us look at the scripture one more time. First, we are given the creation activity that God performed on the first day, ending in verse 5, and God called the light day, and the darkness he called night. Please note that the day is not over yet just because the creation activity has ceased. Why do we know this? We know this because we are not told the day is not over with yet. Second, we are given what chronologically follows that the creation activity is. We are given the fact that sundown, the second even of the day, has arrived, and there was evening. Please notice that the day is not over with yet because the sundown has occurred. Why do we know this? Because we are not told that it’s over with yet. We have to hear the morning came before we’re told the day is over with. What can be clearer? Third, we are given the next piece of information about this first day in the chronological order, and there was morning.
(14:08) Is the day finally over since sunrise occurred? Yes, we know this because it says the day is over with and the new day is going to begin. Let’s do a quick recap of the day…and God called the light day, and the evening he called night, and there was evening, there was morning, the first day. The day ended in the morning, and the second day began in the morning. You just can’t get it any other way. Let’s go to the New Testament. Let’s go to Matthew 28 verse 1. In the end of, or on the end, or at the end of the Sabbath day, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary’s to see this, the grave. Now, many Sabbatarians tell me this, oh, they came the night before, right? The Sabbath was dawning at seven o’clock at night. I mean, that sounds so preposterous but let’s say they’re right. Let’s say that we just don’t understand the Hebrew mind like they’re trying to tell me, and that they came at nighttime on Saturday, but that’s not what the Bible says. So, let’s go to John, and if this doesn’t convince you, if you’re a Sabbatarian, if you’re a Jew, I guess don’t believe in the New Testament, so you don’t have to follow it, but just follow your book of Genesis, and you can prove it to yourself. But if this does not prove to every Christian, when God’s Day begins and ends, nothing will. You’re just blind, and you want to stay blind, and you want to stay ignorant of what God wants you to know. John chapter 20. This is after Christ is dead, and he’s in the grave for three days and three nights. Now, the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene went to the tomb early while it was still yet dark and saw that the stone had been taken away from the tomb. Early, while it was still dark, morning before the sunrise, she’s going to the tomb. Now, people say, no, no, no, she was going that night before, and it was still early dawn of the first day that night.
(16:34) Go now to verse 19, and verse 19 is a problem for anyone who wants to follow a sundown Sabbath day. Then, the same day, that’s the same day that Mary came, the first day of the week, we go back to verse 1 in chapter 20. Now, the first day of the week, Mary went to the tomb early. Now, we get to verse 19, and it says, then the same day in the evening, I understand that as being the first day of the week. It explains itself so vividly. Then, the same day in the evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut, where the disciples were assembled for the fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood amongst them. At Sunday evening, after it was already sundown, the disciples were meeting, and it was still the first day of the week. There’s no other way, my friends, that you can say this, but that God’s Day begins in the morning. That’s it. I’m sorry that the Bible says what it says for those who want to follow man’s calendar, but they don’t want to follow what God says, and I do. I know when the day begins, but I also know God’s calendar, and that’s the next thing we’re going to talk about. In Genesis chapter 7, we get a first clue about the calendar of God. In the 600th year of Noah’s life, in the second month, the 17th day of the month, on that day all the fountains of the great deep were broken up, and the windows of heaven were open, and the rain was on the earth for 40 days and 40 nights. Chapter 8, at the end of 150 days, the waters decreased. Then the ark rested in the seventh month, the 17th day of the month.
Well, let’s think a minute here. From the second month to the seventh month is five months that are exactly 150 days. That is five 30-day months. You name for me the Hebrew calendar or even man’s calendar today that has five 30-day months in a row. I don’t believe so. We got a month for 28 days, we got months for 31 days, and we have months of 30 days, but here we saw in the time of Noah that God’s calendar had five months in a row and it gives you the names of the months, the second through the seventh, that were exactly 30 days long. So basically, from about March to September 30-day months.
(18:44) Well, we’re going to go on to another verse which I don’t have the verse handy right now but it’s very easy to look this up on a search engine. When Solomon was arranging for guards over the temples and the duties of the temple, God gave, I’m sorry, Solomon gave instructions who was to be in charge of the temple duties every month, and it goes in the first month was this family, in the second month was this family, in the third month it will be this family, and in the fourth month it’ll be this family, and he gets all the way to the 12th month and it’ll be this family.
(20:27) Then we go back, that ends, and there’s not a 13th month. Now those who are not familiar with the Jewish calendar, those of you who are not following the Christian Sabbath, or think you are, you may not understand the concept of the 13 months. The problem with the Jewish calendar, because it’s a fake Babylonian pagan calendar, the problem with the Jewish calendar is that because it’s only 300, a lunar year is only 354 days long, but a solar year is 365 days long. So every year the Jewish calendar falls 11 days wrong, and because Passover must always, and by the way, the Muslim calendar who also, because they’re Babylonian too, the Muslims follow a nothing but a lunar, they don’t even try to justify with the sun. That is why their Ramadan, for example, falls every month of the year backwards, because they never adjust their calendar to the sun. So their calendar goes is off 11 days all the way around, you know, the 19-year cycle, and it’s stupid, that’s all I can say. It’s just unmathematical, it’s unscientific, and God is the author of math, and God is the author of true science. But in the Jewish calendar, every three years they have a 13th month. That’s going to come very important when we get to Revelation, because we’re going to see that there is never, never a 13th month in three years, never. There’s only 12, and we’re going to get the absolute formula for God’s calendar when we get to the New Testament. But just be aware that even in the time of David and Solomon, with the temple, they have 12 30-day months. So we go to Revelation chapter 11, Revelation chapter 11 verse 2 through 9, and they were tread the holy city underfoot for 42 months, 42 months, that’s three and a half years. That’s what it gives you. And I will give power to my witnesses, and they will prophesy for 1,260 days in sackcloth. 1,260 days is exactly 42 30-day months, or three and a half years.
(22:52) Go to any biblical commentary, any, not Bob Barney’s commentary here, not Bob Barney’s Plain Truth Bible, go to any biblical commentary, and they will explain to you that at least in prophecy, God only has a 12-month, 30-day month calendar. That’s what the people will tell you, that God’s year is 360 days long, but man’s year is 365. How did they justify that? We’ll get into a theory that I have about that. But we see now that 42 months, which is three and a half years, there’s only 12 30-day months. That’s simple. There’s God’s calendar. You want to follow God’s calendar? You want to know when it starts? It tells you in the book of Exodus when God’s calendar starts. It starts with the spring equinox. That’s why you start in the spring equinox, and you just follow 12 30-day months, and at the end of the year, you have five and a quarter day, five years, six, I mean, five days or six days that it takes for the next spring equinox to occur.
(24:04) What did the Egyptians do? Remember, Moses was an Egyptian. The Egyptians had to be very scientific themselves, but believe it or not, the Egyptians had 12 30-day month years. They had the exact calendar in a way that I am proposing that God had. And it’s also, you can find this calendar as a Jubilees calendar in the Dead Sea Scrolls that the Essenes followed. But what you’ll find is that the Egyptians, 360 days ended their calendar, but then they waited till the Nile flooding. They did their reckoning from the summer solstice to the summer solstice, not from the spring to the spring. And so they would have five to six days each year that they did not count in their calendar. They were no days waiting for the emergence of the sun aligning exactly. That’s why the pyramids have an opening in one place, and it only is there one day a year, and that is on the summer solstice. Well, the Jews, the Hebrews, they’re not just Jews, the Hebrews, they followed under Moses and before Moses. All Moses did was find the real calendar. God gave him back the real calendar. And what they did was they found the equinox, and it’s very easy to find the equinox. You can do that by making a position where the sun has to be before you know what you’re doing. Once you find the equinox one time, you just count out the days and you’re never going to be wrong. You never have to, you can be in total darkness and you’re never wrong. That’s how Noah in total darkness in an ark knew the days and he knew the years and he knew the months and he knew the time because all he did, you could set a clock. Well, counted out 150 days, that’s five months. That’s all it took. Then Revelation 12, then the woman fled into the wilderness where she had a place prepared for her and they should be, and she shall be prepared for 1,260 days. Is that 12, same 42 months.
(26:16) In the King James they say times, times, and half a time. Times is two years, time is a year, half a time is a half a year. So time, times, half a time, 1,260 days, 42 months are all the same time frame. Go to any Bible dictionary, any Bible encyclopedia, any Bible commentary. I don’t care if it’s Catholic, if it’s Protestant, if it’s Matthew, Henry, or some modern guy, they’re going to tell you what I just told you. But you know what? Your minister hasn’t told you what I just told you, did he? Your minister didn’t tell you that God has a perfect calendar that’s never off and that Passover falls on the same day of the year, every year. It doesn’t roll around like Easter or Jewish Passover does. It’s always on April the 2nd and 3rd, the night of the 2nd, the day of the 3rd. Always. The Feast of Tabernacles is always the same week each year. The Day of Atonement is always the same day each year. It’s perfect calendar. God is the author of perfection. God is not the author of confusion. You put that in a search engine, author of confusion, you’re going to get right to the biblical verse that says God is not the author of confusion. But man’s calendars, all of those calendars, are the authors of confusion. Man is confusion. God is easy to understand.
(27:46) If you go to theplaintruth.com and you go to a search engine and you put the word calendar in you’re going to find all the articles that I have written over the years showing you God’s Day…God’s calendar and what you need to know about it. You’re also going to see when Jesus actually died. You can know the exact time, the exact day, the exact time of the year, the exact day of the month. You can find that. I have it on The Plain Truth because Christ died on a Wednesday in, well, I’ll let you look it up. You look it up and you’ll find out, you can find the exact day. You can take that day every year and every year on that day you know it’s so many years since the day Christ died. You can also figure out from that same formula, three days later, that’s the day he was resurrected from the dead. That’s amazing.
(28:42) God gave you a clue, but no one uses it…all you have to do is read your Bible. The Bible is the word of God.
(29:23) It is not a bunch of old men that just had visions and smoked a lot of dope and made-up things. It is the literal word of God, especially when you see the red letters of the Old and New Testament. They are the words of Jesus. The words of Jesus, the red letters are always more important than what’s in black. If Paul disagrees with Jesus, follow Jesus. If Peter disagrees with Jesus, follow Jesus. If Moses disagrees with Jesus, follow Jesus. Proof of that, why did Moses allow divorce? And Jesus says, Moses allowed divorce because of the hardness of your hearts. But I say anyone who puts away his wife, except for infidelity, has committed adultery. Jesus is supreme over Mosaic law, though Mosaic law is still in force.
In conclusion…that’s your day. That’s your calendar…and THAT is The Plain Truth from Bob Barney with The Plain Truth Today broadcast. Thank you for listening. Please know that I really appreciate y’all. Have a good day. Goodbye.
