Hi, Bob Barney for The Plain Truth Today, brought to you by theplaintruth.com, and our subject
today is going to be, how really powerful is our military? You know, we listen to these reports all
the time about just how great our military is and we can defeat the whole world, but is the war
with Iran proving to our enemies that, like Putin with Ukraine, we have met our match with Iran?
When Russia first, five years ago, lined up on the border of Ukraine with hundreds of tanks and
thousands and thousands of soldiers on the border, it was believed by most, including myself, I’m
not going to rewrite history, that Ukraine would last no more than a week, maybe two weeks, and
it would totally be dominated by the Soviet Union. That rich, powerful nation with all those
weapons and tanks and anti-tank batteries and things like that would just overwhelm the
Ukrainian forces within days, if not a few weeks. And five years later, the war continues.
Russia is actually losing territory to Ukraine every single month that the war goes on. Russia has
lost, you know, it’s hard to say how many they’ve lost because there is no accurate reporting, but
some report up to 800,000 to a million Russian soldiers are either killed or wounded in the war
with Ukraine, and now Ukraine has been able to actually send drone missiles to Moscow and are
now blowing up infrastructure in Moscow and actually targeting Russian generals in Moscow as
they get into their cars and all of a sudden their cars become a target of a drone and they are
blowing up into smithereens and that general is killed and this is unheard of. Ukraine, by the way,
has gotten so sophisticated with cheap two, three, four thousand dollar drone technology.
That’s the truth. We’re talking about, you know, the kind of budget you and I could afford and they
have outpaced the world in cheap drone technology to both stop incoming missiles and drones
and also send outgoing missiles and drones at a fraction of the cost of the military of America, for
example, the Soviet Union or even China. I’ll give you an example.
The average drone of the United States military army, the average drone’s cost is one and a half
million dollars and the average cost of an Iranian drone is about thirty thousand dollars and
they’re sending those to Russia, by the way. Russia cannot even get that kind of technology.
Russia doesn’t have the technology that Iran does when it comes to drone technology, but the
funny thing is the Ukrainians’ drones to stop the Iranian drones cost them two to three thousand
dollars and it’s unheard of and Americans are really left behind and the program today is just,
where is the American military when it comes to worldwide strength? Are we the superpower that
we project or are we like Great Britain was in 1939 where the world thought they had the greatest
navy on the face of the earth and they’re one of the greatest military mights on the face of the
earth and when they declared war on Germany and Germany declared war on England,
everyone thought that the German battleship, like Bismarck, for example, Graf Spree was
another one, that they would be sunk in a matter of minutes when they faced the impossible to
beat Royal Navy and when the Hood went down in about 30 seconds after it met the Bismarck
and the Bismarck was able to shoot at it 26 miles away and the Hood had to get within 15 miles
to hit the Bismarck and the Hood absolutely exploded with one Bismarck shell and went to the
bottom of the sea taking thousands of sailors with it in a matter of minutes and the world was
shocked that the superpower of Great Britain was not the superpower that they projected they
were and I have been saying and I know friends around me, people in the know that I know have
been saying for a long time now, really since the end of Ronald Reagan when he built up our
navy and he built up our air force and he built up the Star Wars program and our military that
under especially Bill Clinton, it was called the peace dividend after the Berlin wall fell down and
after Bill Clinton gutted our military, number one, George Bush II tried to rebuild it for the Iraqi war
but we showed a weakness there that we didn’t really want to admit that we had and then by the
time Obama was done by the military, the plain truth is we became a very weak military and if you
watch the mainstream media, even if it’s CNN or even if it’s MS Now, the liberal left media, they
will keep telling you how powerful our military is.
Our military wins everything it wants to win and I think what this Iran war has shown and I’m sorry
to break this news for you if you’re one of these Americans that think we’re the most powerful
country on the face of the earth, we simply are not and we are every day declining as a world
power and now with Trump’s policy of going to war without planning it, we are showing our
enemies how weak we really are and emboldening China. Why do you think when Trump went to
China, he was absolutely treated like crap by Xi Jinping and he was. Donald Trump sat there and
if you want to admit it or not, I don’t know.
How many of you out there actually watched Donald Trump in China in his speeches? I did and I
did on purpose and he acted like a beggar. He kept telling Xi Jinping what a great leader he was,
what a great friend he was, what a great ally he was. He was kissing Xi Jinping’s butt and there
was a reason for it because he has lost the trade war to China.
China now has won the trade war all over the world. They’re the dominant trading partner of
Europe, our real enemy to come. The dominant trading partner in Asia, Africa, the Middle East
and of course with Canada and Mexico now.
Think about that. They have won there and then Donald Trump really was hoping that Xi Jinping
was going to help him with the Gulf, the Straits of Hormuz because he thought China needed that
oil. What’s not being reported in the American press is China has a two-year supply of emergency
oil.
Some 800, I believe I’ve got this right, this is off the top of my head. I believe it’s something like,
no I’m sorry, 80, not 800, 80 million barrels of oil in reserve plus they’re still getting an average of
8 to 10 million barrels a day from other sources and they are now buying some from America. But
the point being that China is in so much better shape than we are.
Their military is still, in my humble opinion, and I don’t have proof of this, but I think their military is
a bit of a paper tiger in itself. And the proof of that, if China thought they could easily defeat the
American forces, they would be in Taiwan tomorrow. And the fact that they’re not in Taiwan
tomorrow is the reason that they believe that the United States still could cause them major harm
and their military is not as powerful as they’re trying to project that it is.
One thing nations do, one thing Donald Trump’s trying to do, and one thing the United States of
America has always tried to do is project military power that it may not really have. And so it’s like
a bluff game. And when somebody calls your bluff, you better have it.
And if you don’t have it, then you’re in trouble. But I’m going to get into some facts and figures
here. And one of the first things I want to play, this is from India.
It’s always good to listen to the news outside of the United States because a lot of the news
outside the United States is actually the real news and not fake news. But this is what Iran has
done to our military in this war that you’re just not reading about online for the most part. You are
not watching on your nightly news on TV for sure.
And you’re not even getting on the internet. Listen to this report, and I think you’ll find it kind of
disturbing. I did.
Tonight, we begin with what is easily America’s heaviest aerial damage reported in its modern
military history. A stunning report unwields the massive damage that the United States has
suffered in its war against Iran. According to a report by the nonpartisan U.S. Congressional
Research Service or the CRS, at least 42 American aircraft were either destroyed or they were
damaged during Operation Epic Fury.
Now, these numbers are extraordinary because they reveal not just what America suffered, but
the details of the damaged aircraft paint a difficult picture for the American military. Here’s what
the losses include. Four F-15E Strike Eagle fighter jets.
Remember, three F-15Es were destroyed by friendly fire over Kuwait. This happened within the
initial days of the war. The fourth F-15E was destroyed inside Iran, where both aircrew ejected
separately, leading to an intense search and rescue operation as well, involving hundreds of
troops and fighter jets.
One A-10 Thunderbolt II crowned attack aircraft. This was damaged during the search and
rescue operation to recover an U.S. airman who was stuck in Iran. Two MC-130J Commando II.
Now, these were intentionally destroyed by American forces on the ground in Iran during a
rescue operation after they were unable to depart. Next up is one HH-60W Jolly Green II
helicopter. Sustained damage from small arms fire inside Iran.
Then there was one F-35A Lightning II stealth fighter jet, which was damaged by Iranian ground
fire, making it the first case of the unkillable F-35 stealth jet that was being locked and hit. 24 MQ
9 Reaper drones. They have been lost since the start of the war against Iran.
Then you’ve got seven KC-135 Stratotanker aerial refueling aircraft. I don’t know if you just heard
that, if you paid attention to that, but, and this has not been reported that I know of, we lost, and I
did verify this, and this is the truth, we did lose seven KC-135 Stratotanker refueling aircraft. And
for those of you out there who do not know what a KC-135 aircraft is, this is a huge refilling
aircraft that can refuel B-52s, B-1 bombers, major transfer fuel aircraft.
These aircraft are huge. They’re larger than a 767, a Boeing 767, and seven of them have been
destroyed. I believe they cost in about seven, six or $700 million a piece.
So you got about two and a half, three billion dollars worth of KC-135s destroyed that simply is
not being talked about. And before I get any further with the rest of the count here, we’re going to
take a break, but I just think the American people need to start worrying about how strong their
military really is, and where we stand in the world’s power structure, because world war is
coming, the Bible says so, and you need to be prepared. And I don’t think just countries are
prepared, and I know most people listening to me right now are not prepared.
I’ll be right back. Hi, Bob Barney for the Plain Truth Today, the place to go to find out what’s
happening in the world today, why it’s happening, does God have anything to do with it, and can
you prove it from the pages of your Bible? Well, that is the mission of theplaintruth.com and the
Plain Truth Today broadcast. Our mission really is to show our readers and listeners that there is
a plan from God to us, America, who is the Israel of your Bible, that whenever you see a
prophecy about Israel, it’s talking about the United States of America, and what is going to be our
future.
And I’ll give you a hint right now. Our future, according to God and His Word, the Holy Bible, is
not very good in the short future. It’s just not.
And if you go to theplaintruth.com every day and you click on the stories we are presenting to
you, you will see exactly what is in store for this country, what you can do about it for you and
your family, even if this country doesn’t pay attention. And so far, this country has got, it’s like an
ostrich, it’s got its head in the ground, in the sand, hiding, and thinking the enemy is going to
disappear. Well, the enemy is going to get bigger and bigger and bigger, and the enemy is not
who you’re being told by your media and your president and your congresspeople, who the real
enemy is.
And I got a hint for you. It’s not China. It’s really not Russia.
In the long run, it’s going to be Japan, and it’s going to be Germany again. Think of World War II,
and you have the future that’s coming to this nation. This is Bob Barney for theplaintruth.com.
Please visit there every day.
Thank you. And we’re back with the rest of the casualties that we’ve lost that you’re not being told
about by the mainstream media. Critical American military hub.
One E3 Sentry AWACS, or the Airborne Early Warning and Control System aircraft, was
damaged while being parked on an unprotected taxiway at a critical US military hub in Saudi
Arabia. Then you’ve got one MQ-4C Triton, high-altitude, long-endurance drone, which crashed
to the ground. Now, these were the basic numbers and types.
But to understand the scale of this, let me give you the context. The F-35A, for instance, is
America’s premier fifth-generation stealth fighter. Losing even one in combat is strategically and
politically significant.
The aircraft costs roughly $80 to $100 million, depending on configuration and support package.
The E3 Sentry AWACS, for instance, is another, even more critical aerial ammunition. It’s
essentially a flying command center coordinating air battles, tracking missile launches, and
managing battlefield awareness.
Now, these aircraft are rare and they’re expensive, with replacement costs running into hundreds
of millions of dollars. Then there are the drones. The report claims that the United States lost 24
MQ-9 Reaper drones.
These are the workhorses of modern American surveillance and precision strike warfare. Each
MQ-9 costs roughly between $16 and $30 million, depending on equipment. Now, if you combine
these two, the estimated losses and repair costs reportedly push the overall financial burden of
the operation close to $29 billion.
And mind you, $29 billion worth of aircraft have been destroyed in this war, and we are claiming
victory, or at least our president is, and it’s pretty clear to me we are nowhere close to victory at
all. We are losing this war just as much as Russia is losing their war with Ukraine. Not just
militarily, America has struggled through financial burden as well.
On the 12th of May, remember, during a hearing of the House Appropriations Subcommittee,
acting Pentagon Comptroller Jules W. Hearst III testified that the department’s cost estimate for
military operations in Iran has increased to $29 billion. But even after this, I say the point is not
just how many aircraft were lost. The real question is what does this reveal about Iran’s air
defense capabilities? Remember, for decades, the United States built its military doctrine around
the assumption of air superiority.
From Iraq in 1991, to Kosovo, Libya, Syria, and more recently, Afghanistan, the U.S. Air Force
has always operated with an overwhelming dominance of the skies. But this now seems to be
changing. Multiple reports have suggested that Iran relied on a layered defense strategy.
Mobile surface-to-air missile systems, radar networks, drone swarms, electronic warfare, and
manpads, or short-range shoulder-fired missiles. If you remember, on the 3rd of April, an
American F-15E Strike Eagle was reportedly shot down over Iran. The crew ejected, leading to
the massive search and rescue operation by American forces deep inside Iranian territory.
And days and many difficulties later, the two pilots were rescued. Now, this entire incident points
to something deeper. This war is exposing vulnerabilities in American logistics.
There are also growing questions about transparency. Several reports, remember, note that the
CRS compiled information from the Pentagon statements, CENTCOM releases, media reportage,
and battlefield assessments, but also warned that the numbers could still change due to
classification restrictions, incomplete battle damage assessments, and the ongoing combat
operations. So what was just said there is there could be a lot more damaged aircrafts and
vehicles that are not being reported because the Pentagon is saying that a lot of the reports
they’re going to keep restricted for security reasons, and it’s really propaganda reasons, because
probably it’s even worse than you just heard.
And the American public, I think, would kind of start rebelling to realize that this military that they
have spent 20 trillion dollars over the last 30 years on is really ineffective. And most of that
money has been spent on programs of waste, fraud, and abuse and kickbacks. That’s the plain
truth.
I’m sorry to break that news to you, but that’s what’s happening with America. I’m going to finish
this up and we’ll wrap this show up about the America’s declining military power. And that’s
something that’s going to really affect your future, my future, and the future of this country, and
the coming captivity of this country under the domination of Europe that is prophesied in our
Bible.
And this matters because historically, wartime casualty and equipment loss figures are often
revised months or years later. Governments sometimes under-report losses during active wars,
something that the Trump administration has been accused of as well. But it leads us to the big
question, staring down at the United States.
Did Donald Trump overestimate America’s military stance in Operation Epic Fury? And the
answer is yes. And this has been going on now for a long time, and especially this Trump 2.0. He
has constantly keep saying how we have decimated Iran and the American people, especially
those people who think we’re still winning. And I talk to people every day, customers of ours, who
are ever Trumpers and cannot believe Donald Trump has ever made a decision.
They think he’s the smartest man who ever lived. And he has a plan, like the plan he had in 2019.
Do you remember that QAnon nonsense when all of this stuff going on was a plan and they’re
going to take over the 2020 election? It’s going to be both houses and he’s going to win by a
landslide.
It’s all a plan. Well, it turned out not to be a very good plan, did it? He ended up impeached. He
ended up losing the election, probably stolen election, as I still believe, and was not even
prepared for it.
Because even then, he had a lot of arrogance and gravitas, as it’s called, stupidity in running this
country. But back then, I will say, he had some adults in the room that knew what was going on.
And that is basically something not going on today.
He is surrounded with yes henchmen who have no concept. Pete Hedges doesn’t know how to
run the Pentagon. He doesn’t even know how to run the budget of his own house.
And he’s in charge of an operation that buys more products a year than Amazon sells. Think
about that. It’s the largest buyer in the world.
And you have a person in charge of it who is just basically a mental midget. And this is the guy
telling Donald Trump that we’re winning the war and Donald Trump wants to hear it so he
believes it. We’re not winning the war.
And we are constantly showing our enemies and our future enemies, Europe and Japan, just
what a paper tiger we really are. And it’s dangerous. And this is the worst the United States has
been in, in my opinion, since the Jimmy Carter fiasco in Iran, by the way, in 1979 and 1980.
And we just need to be realizing what’s going on. And we need to start holding people, including
our great president, accountable. We are looking bad to the world.
And this is going to get more wars. Wars are going to continually break out all over the place,
making us stretch our capabilities where we are going to be in trouble. Here is another broadcast
about the U.S. military’s overreach and how it is draining our economy and how it’s bad news for
America.
A British-American historian, Paul Michael Kennedy, published back in 1987, The Rise and Fall of
the Great Powers, in which he argued that military overstretch inevitably historically had led to a
decline and eventual collapse. Looking at the United States with something like 750 to 800 bases
spread across some 80 countries, that must be a lot of drainage on the American economy. This
overstretch, is it the same overstretch Eisenhower warned against, military-industrial complex, or
is it something else? It’s a combination of the military-industrial complex, which we now call the
military-industrial think tank, collegiate, you name it, complex, because everybody’s got their
finger in the pie, so to speak.
And it’s also a combination of the hubris that comes along with the leadership of such countries.
And it’s a spin-off, if you will, an inevitability of having so many places in the world that
themselves generate conflict, that themselves speak for the empire and speak in Germany and in
Japan and in Egypt and in Kuwait and in Saudi Arabia, everywhere that we have bases. And you
talk about the cost.
The last time we at the Eisenhower Media Network computed the cost of those bases, just the
cost of maintaining the bases, not even counting the other incidentals that come along with it, like
the propensity for war, where a lot of them are, particularly in places like Africa, is about $100
billion a year. And we don’t seem to care about those costs anymore. But the money that we’re
spending right now is on top of what you just described.
And we’re going to be looking at not just $1 trillion annual interest payments on our aggregate
debt, but $2 trillion. If we get to that point, and we’re going to, we’re going to get there, then we
will have no discretionary spending in the federal budget at all. It’ll all either go for social
programs or it will go for the military, with the predominant amount going for the military.
If those statements didn’t scare the bejesus out of you, I don’t know what’s going to. We are in
trouble as a nation. And I am just one voice trying to point out that everything is not going great
because Donald Trump is president.
I keep talking to people every day, because I still talk to a lot of customers, many more than
maybe I need to right now, for my mind’s sake, that simply are so uninformed of what’s going on
in the world, what other countries are thinking about us, how weak, yes, how weak this nation
really is. And when you tell people this, they get mad at you. They get mad at you for being a
liberal Democrat, an American hater.
Well, I am not an American hater. I’m definitely not a liberal Democrat. They got us here more
than the Republicans did, for pity’s sakes.
But I am also a realist. And I’m not going to be what’s happening with the MAGA movement right
now with my head stuck in the ground like an ostrich and say that we are the strongest country in
the world and we have nothing to fear, and we have a president who knows everything that he’s
doing, and he’s got a plan to fix it all. Well, that plan’s got you $4.56 gas.
That plan’s got you $6.80 diesel for you. That plan has got electric bills that are two and three
times what they were when Biden was in office. Your food bill has never gone down as promised.
In fact, it’s gone up about 11 percent, if you really get the real numbers. Your pay is going down.
AI is about ready to take over your job, for many of you listening to me right now.
And you think we’re still the greatest nation on the face of the earth? No one can compete with
us? No one can militarily defeat us? Well, a fourth rate, maybe a fifth rate power, Iran, has totally
decimated what we can do. And I’m sorry if you don’t want to believe that. Just start paying
attention and stop listening to the propaganda or you will be a part of the destruction of this
country, which I am trying to at least prolong because God tells their people, the people who are
going to give the news, the newscasters, and sometimes they’re prophets.
I’m not claiming to be a prophet because God doesn’t come to me. I only can read his word in the
Bible. So I’m quoting other prophets, that this country can prolong what’s going to happen to it if it
goes back to God and understands the God of the Bible, who is Jesus Christ, by the way.
I say this over and over again. I don’t know how many people listen to that. But the God of the
Old Testament, you know, that mean old God that just ordered all these women and children and
everybody killed? That was none other than the God that became Jesus Christ, and your Bible
says that.
I’m sorry if your pastor or your priest doesn’t want to tell you that, but that is the same God who is
coming back again, and he’s not coming back as some effeminate guy who forgives everybody
for everything they do. Read the Bible for yourself. Don’t listen to me.
Don’t listen to any holy roller out there, and you will see that Jesus is a different God than you
think he is, and what’s happening in your future is not too rosy unless we do something. We can
prolong this. We can turn back to God as a nation, reject leaders who try to put themselves in
place of God with golden statues, and we can ask God to pull this country out of its doldrums,
and as bad as it is, and as mad as he is against us right now, and he is, or they are, God the
Father and God the Son, they will change their mind, and they will pull us out of our problems.
Look what they did for ancient Israel. Rebellious, no-good SOBs kept trying to save them, kept
doing it, even though he knew it they were going to go back doing what they did. Well, that’s my
time for today.
I’m going to come back with another story about how Russia is an example of what the United
States is going to be like. This is Bob Barney for The Plain Truth today. Thank you for listening.
Bye-bye.
