Hi, this is Bob Barney with The Plain Truth Today, brought to you by theplaintruth.com.

You know, it’s real close now to the new year, and you’re thinking to yourself, what do I mean…the new year? Well, are you aware that God’s new year does not start anywhere near January 1st? As a matter of fact, the idea that you would start a new year in the dead of winter is absolutely insane. It’s almost as insane as starting the day at midnight or evening time as many of the people do who follow the seventh-day Sabbath believe.

God’s new year starts on the spring equinox.

You can prove that in the Bible, you can prove that in all kinds of ways. God’s year is 12 30-day months that starts on March 20th and it goes all the way to the end of March 15th the following year. There are five and a quarter days not counted until you go back to the new equinox and you have another new year. So this year is about to end and a new year is about to begin and that is going to be on March 20th. Then what follows 14 days after that is Passover. And we’re going to have Passover, which is always April 2nd and the night of April 2nd and the day of April 3rd and then we’re going to have something called the Feast of Unleavened Bread during that time when all yeast is to be out of everyone’s homes. Now, I know the 98% of America is not going to follow God’s holiday called Passover, but that is what we’re supposed to do.

We want to follow Christmas and Easter and Halloween and all kinds of pagan holidays. But for some reason, we just do not have it in us to want to follow the days that God put forth in his Bible, the Bible that you have in your living room or wherever you keep it. It’s in every Bible, every translation there is. There are holy days that God commanded us to follow. Most people are not even aware of it.

Well, the first holy day we’re supposed to follow, by the way, is the Sabbath day, which happens to occur from sunrise Saturday until sunrise Sunday. The day we call Saturday is really the Sabbath day of God. It was created during the creation or recreation work of the earth when Adam and Eve were created on the sixth day. And on the seventh day, God rested and gave an example for all mankind to follow. Those who think that the Sabbath day is only for Jews, Adam and Eve wasn’t a Jew and it was made for them and their children and offspring, which we are all the children and offspring of Adam and Eve. So the Sabbath day still applies.

You know, I do a story, I do a show every once in a while, what’s wrong with the Ten Commandments? The fourth commandment is observed, or I should say, honor the Sabbath day and keep it holy. Everybody does that on Sunday, but that’s not what the Ten Commandments says. So people break the law all the time, so-called Christians, by following Sunday when the Bible and every command of God tells us that we should follow the Sabbath day and if we would, we would be blessed. But there are other holidays that God really wants us to follow. One of those is the Passover. One of those is the Feast of Unleavened Bread and the Feast of First Fruits and the Feast of Pentecost and something called the Day of Atonement, and another called the Feast of Tabernacles. These are the holidays that God has instilled for us to follow. Jesus Christ didn’t follow Christmas. Jesus Christ didn’t go to church on Sunday. Neither did any disciple. Neither did any apostle. Neither did any member of the true Church of God or the Churches of God for the first 200-300 years of the existence. The idea that Emperor Constantine around, what, 330 or 340 AD mandated that Sunday would be the new day of worship and outlawed the Sabbath day from being kept tells us what? That the Sabbath day was still being kept at 340 AD, some 300 years after the death of Christ. That the apostle Paul, when he taught, he only taught on the Sabbath day and when the Jews got mad and left and only the Gentile Greeks remained and he was finished, it says in the book of Acts that the following Sabbath all the city, meaning all the Greeks, showed up to listen to what Paul had to say about the gospel on the following Sabbath day. So the Greeks, not the Jews, were going to church on the Sabbath day. Well, the new year is a holy time.

It’s coming in a few weeks and I’m just preparing and you’re going to be reading a lot of articles and hearing some commentary on this program about why we should be keeping the Feast of Tabernacles or why we should be keeping the feast that’s coming up in a less than a month’s time now, Passover, in the new year, and the Feast of Unleavened Bread, and then that’s followed by 50 days after First Fruits is followed by a holiday that everybody says they follow in the Christian world called Pentecost. Pentecost is the exact anniversary in the New Testament of the Old Testament when the law of God was given to Moses on Mount Sinai. Do you know that?

Do you know that that Holy Spirit came on the day of Pentecost in the New Testament on the exact same day that the law written by Jesus Christ’s own finger on stone tablets happened on the same exact day during the time of Moses somewhat 3,000 years before? Many people do not know that. We are to follow God’s way and not man’s way. But unfortunately, we are like children. I don’t care if we’re 80 years old. If we’re 90 years old, we want to do things our own way. We have come to a conclusion of what we’re going to follow, and we’re not going to let facts get in the way. I followed Christmas my whole life, and by damn, I’m not going to switch just because some holy roller tells me to do something. Well, I’m not a holy roller. I’m not a minister. I’m not an evangelist. I’m not even a man of God, so I’m a paint man. But I do know how to read the Bible, and I do know what the truth is, and I know what the plain truth is. You don’t have to listen to me, but it’s about time you take your Bible and read it and listen to it and believe the words on the paper.

The words in the book are the words of God. They’re not the words of Bob Barney. They’re not the words of any person. They’re the words of God Almighty, and it’s about time we as a people start listening to God, and maybe we will find a blessing. Well, that’s it for today’s short 7-Eleven show. This is Bob Barney saying thank you for listening. I do appreciate you. Bye-bye.
