The Plain Truth is so Happy That You Have Been Enjoying Bob’s Broadcasts.
2000 years ago, a newscaster that we know of as Jesus Christ warned us about false Christianity. The warning was not against the devil but against false Christianity…about people who come in His name and deceive many.
SUNDAY The week in Review with Bob Barney
Hi, Bob Barney here for The Plain Truth today, brought to you by theplaintruth.com, and I did this last Sunday instead of a Friday wrap-up. I kind of liked it because I could do some of it on the Sabbath day yesterday. So I’m doing another one today, even though I did a Friday wrap-up. I’m going to call it, I guess, Week in Review with Bob Barney on Sundays or something like that.
We’ll find out a headline for it, but I’m going to get over, go over some I didn’t talk about Friday in a little bit more detail, kind of a little bit more world-focused as well, but the first story I want to really talk about is the school shooting that happened Friday, I believe it was, and a hero with a gun, a father of one of the students with a gun, killed the 16-year-old would-be assassin. Well, he did kill four people or five people, because we had a hero with a gun.
I’ve had a program, and maybe I’ll find it as a best of Bob for this week, but I had a program a few times where how many people are saved by guns each year? You hear all these liberals try to say guns kill people and everybody shouldn’t have a gun. Guns kill, I think, 38,000 people. The roads kill about 50,000 people a year, and guns kill about 38,000.
Half of those that are killed by guns are justifiable killings, but do you know that according to the CDC, some 2.5 million people a year are saved by citizens having guns? 2.5 million versus the 38,000 that are killed by guns, and like I said, 50, 60,000 on the highways.
You don’t hear those statistics too often, but you should, but I’m going to do a little TV news about the man who did this. We begin with breaking news on that tragic school shooting in Oregon that killed at least four people, including three children.
We have just learned 36-year-old Caleb Giammanco is the good Samaritan who took down the gunman at Silver Rail Elementary School. Caleb is a father of two young girls who attend that school. Just to break in here, he, looking at his picture here online, he looks to be maybe 28 or 32 years old.
He’s got a beard. He looks like a very fit father and obviously knows how to use a gun, but let’s continue. Dirk who opened fire yesterday.
Authorities say one teacher and three children under the age of 12 were killed. Two others, including a seven-year-old and another teacher, were seriously injured. NBC News correspondent Liz Kreutz joins us now from outside the scene in Bend, Oregon.
Liz, you’re getting new details now about Giammanco, the man who helped prevent more deaths. What did his brother tell you? Hey guys, yeah, we were able to speak to Kyle Giammanco, who confirms that it was his brother, Caleb, who was that heroic good Samaritan that rushed into the school here and helped prevent more lives from being lost. He took down the gunman before police even arrived.
And according to his brother, by the way, he said that his brother does not want to speak, the good Samaritan does not want to speak at this moment because he’s just so shaken by all of it.And he said that even though so many in this community are hailing him as a hero, that right now he doesn’t feel like a hero, that he feels like he didn’t do enough to prevent the loss of even morelives. So he’s sort of struggling with that at this time.
But according to Caleb, the good Samaritan’s brother, Kyle, who we spoke to, he said his brother was just happened to be driving down this road here by the school on his way home for his lunch break. When he heard gunfire, he looked out, he saw the gunman going into the school, and he happens to be someone who has a concealed weapon, and he ran in after and took that gunman down. So remarkable, incredible timing, and just a hero in the eyes of the community here.
And is a hero in the eyes of me and anybody with a brain. We need more security, and I had a show on this as well. We need more security at schools.
All schools should have armed guards posted at every entranceway. Armed guards. We have armed guards at our courthouses.
We have armed guards at Congress and state assemblies and the White House. We protect our phony baloney politicians, who I don’t think maybe should be protected half the time, that maybe they should fear the people more than they do. And I did a story the other day that more and more politicians are starting to fear the people of all these threats they’re getting, and I don’t really havea problem with it myself.
It’s about time. Thomas Jefferson said a healthy democracy is when the politicians fear the people, and when they no longer fear the people, he claims that we have a totalitarian state, and that’s what we’re heading towards. But we could easily arm every school with armed guards at every entrance point that could stop every would-be shooter.
It’s that simple. And we’re going to move on to the next topic, because this one’s been played to death. Like I said, hopefully, if I can remember, we’ll try to play that during the week as a Best of Bob series of what I did.
I’m moving on to the next story. We’re going to talk about this. We talked about a little bit Friday, but I got some more information on this Russian-American diesel deal and just how stupid this deal is.
Let me just play the news on this, this Sunday program. If I keep doing it, I’m going to do more of other people’s points of view and a comment in between instead of just me talking. So listen to this from GMA in Oregon.
President Trump saying he’s made a deal with Vladimir Putin to import Russian diesel fuel to the U.S. The announcement drawing criticism as American drivers and businesses continue to struggle with near-record prices at the pump. ABC’s Marcus Moore is in London with details. Marcus, good morning.
Oh, good morning. Overnight, some market prices softened on the news that Russia had agreed to release 300,000 tons of diesel to the United States and into the global market. And in all, a total of 1.8 million tons will be released over time as part of this deal.
Now, the Trump administration is hoping an injection of diesel will help bring down prices, but experts say that immediate release of 300,000 tons of diesel would have very little effect or impact on prices long term, and that that amount would only account for half of U.S. daily consumption. Also, there are doubts about whether Russia can even fulfill its promise. Of course, this comes just 30 days before the midterm elections, President Trump hoping that it will boost his approval ratings.
His ratings have slumped in part because of the war in Iran, and the ramifications of this deal reach to Ukraine as well. Russia uses profits from its energy sales to fund the war that’s approaching five years. This morning, Ukraine’s president called this deal a gift to Putin.
And it certainly is a gift to Vladimir Putin, a terrorist mafia-like leader of Russia, that Donald Trump just seems to like terrorist leaders of countries that are dictators. He even said last week, and I mentioned it on the Friday show, he even said that he admires Putin for being in office for 20 years. I don’t admire Putin at all.
There’s nothing about Vladimir Putin anybody could admire. Not a thing. But anyway, here’s some other takes about this deal and what it means.
And then I’m going to play back a Donald Trump quote from about a year ago. Director and Secretary of Defense, other President Obama, Leon Panetta. Mr. Secretary, the idea of the U.S. in effect handcuffing Ukraine as it tries to fend off these missile strikes, these attacks, just your reaction to that.
I think it’s tragic that the president has made a decision to basically go with Putin when it comes to Ukraine. That sends a terrible message of weakness, not just to Putin, but it also sends a message of weakness to our other adversaries in the world. And very frankly, it sends a terrible message to our allies, particularly NATO, which is joined together in support of Ukraine.
And by the way, that was three points perfectly. It shows China that we are ready to allow them to take Taiwan. I mean, we laughed at Biden when he did what he did, which allowed Russia to go into Ukraine in the first place.
Trump 1.0 didn’t do it. But Trump 2.0 is not only going to side with Russia, he’s going to side with China when they take Taiwan because there’s kickback money going on. I’m sorry if you don’t want to believe that.
If you’re a mega person, you don’t want to believe that. You surely believed it when it was the Biden family doing the same type of thing. You surely believed it when it was Clinton doing the same thing.
But you don’t want to believe it when it’s this guy doing the same thing, siding with tyrants, totalitarian countries over democracies. And what Leon Panetta, and I’m no fan of his, by the way, said, which is true, what is it telling Europe? It’s telling Europe you’re on your own. There is a reason that we spent the last 50 years with troops in Europe defending them, because our leaders of the past, and they were not stupid, as Donald Trump tries to call them, our leaders from the past knew that a rearmed Europe met World War III.
And that is what a rearmed Europe is. And if you believe the pages of the Bible, and you believe that God has predicted the future, yours and my future, in the pages of the Bible, then you realize that Europe is going to be rearmed. They’re going to be the most powerful entity on this earth, the Bible says so, because they’re going to be known as the King of the North of the book of Daniel.
I’ll be right back after this word about theplaintruth.com. theplaintruth.com is the one place to go to, to find out what’s happening, what it means for you, your family, and your future. Because most of the headlines you’re going to read over the next 20, 30, 50, who knows how many more years you’re going to read these headlines, they’re going to be headlines that you could have read50 years earlier if you just read the prophecies of the Bible.
The Bible has your future wrapped up in it, and if you don’t know what the Bible is going to do, or what the Bible says, I should say, then you’re going to find mistakes that you will make by not believing in God’s prophecies of the Bible.
If you go to theplaintruth.com every day, you have a message board, you have Your Health Today, you have the main page, and these podcasts, and we’re trying to always remind our viewers andlisteners that the Bible is not some old book that can’t help predict the future. It is the future.Thank you.
And we’re back, and I wanted to play this one quote from Donald Trump, ironic. I guess the guy don’t listen to himself, never mind anybody else. So we went back about a year ago to listen to this report and just see how ironic this report is for what just happened in the last three or four days.
This is from a year ago. Donald Trump once again made headlines at the United Nations General Assembly on Tuesday, delivering a sharp warning to Europe over its reliance on Russian energy. In his speech, Trump criticized NATO allies, accusing them of funding the war against themselves.
He added, who the hell ever heard of that one? Highlighting that even major NATO countries continue importing Russian oil and gas, indirectly supporting the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. Who the hell ever heard of that? Well, Donald Trump, I guess you thought about it just recently. This is just how out of touch this Trump administration is with reality, or more likely how corrupt it is.
Maybe he just loves dictators. Maybe he wants to be the new Julius Caesar, the Caesar of the world. It’s not going to happen.
He’s going to find himself impeached. He’s also going to find himself in a lot more trouble than he thinks. He thinks he’s going to pardon him and his family, but the Supreme Court might have the last laugh there because maybe if you’re a criminal, when you pardon yourself, maybe that pardon will not be held to be legal.
Let’s go on with this report, though. While European nations have reduced their dependence on Moscow since Russia’s February 2022 invasion of Ukraine, they have not completely cut ties. Countries like Hungary, Slovakia, France, Belgium, and Spain remain the top European importers of Russian energy.
France continues importing liquefied natural gas, LNG, due to pre-existing take or pay contracts, some of which run through the early 2030s, forcing them to either continue purchases or face penalties. Trump also took aim at global powers outside NATO, pointing to China and India as major funders of the war by continuing to buy Russian oil. He warned that if Russia does not negotiate to end the war, the United States is ready to impose a very strong round of powerful tariffs, but stressed that for them to be effective, European nations must adopt the same measures.
Isn’t this just unbelievable? Isn’t this just unbelievable? This speech here just showed you what he just did, even according to himself, is stupid. Stupid!
That’s what he’s calling the people here a year ago, and he’s doing this now. So what’s that make him? This comes at a time of growing tension between the U.S. and Europe over energy policies and international conflicts, raising questions about the future of NATO unity and global sanctions on Russia.
Well, just again, 8 million tons of diesel is equal to about 16.7 days of U.S. domestic demand, or roughly two days of world demand.
So if Russia can supply what they promised, and most expertsclaim they cannot, if Russia could supply it, it would last the world two days. And you think that’sgoing to lower prices? Well, let’s go into this latest inflation report.
I went into it a little bit on the Friday wrap-up. Let’s get into it in more detail, because here’s the truth. Tariffs and this war are the reason we have a 3.7 percent inflation rate, and it is really about 10 to 12 percent.
They’re lying about this inflation rate, just like Biden and everybody lied about it back in 2022, because they don’t use the real, they take food and housing out of the inflation. Well, has anybody looked at what houses sell for today or what rents are?
Where I’m from, rental properties, what people rent, like a three-bedroom house was about 700 to 900 dollars three years ago. It’s about 2,100 dollars now.
That’s 100 percent inflation on house rentals. This is what we’re going through. But let me go into about this war and tariffs and inflation, because that’s the real enemy.
That’s the real culprit here. And nobody wants to admit it on TV, at least in America. You got to go overseas to hear this kind of stuff.
Here is a CBS, this is in America, but here’s a CBS view on the latest data that came out of the inflation index at 3.7 percent. On the job as Federal Reserve Chair, Kevin Warsh is still fighting sticky inflation. Consumer prices last month rose 3.7 percent.
That’s well above the Fed’s 2 percent target rate. And there’s no clear signal yet from the new chair on what comes next to bring those prices down. Warsh instead told colleagues at the Fed’s annual conference in Wyoming yesterday, the central bank is prepared to act if prices keep rising.
Olivia Gazis joins us from the White House. Olivia, good morning. Good morning, Kelly.
Chairman Warsh painted a picture of an economy on solid footing with robust spending and unemployment at 4.1 percent. But he said elevated inflation means the Fed’s main focus should be on lowering consumer prices. I stand here today committed to a discipline.
This is the Fed chair decision. Trump’s highly anticipated speech as Fed chair Friday. Kevin Warsh warned that inflation remains too high at 3.7 percent, up from 3.5 percent in June, up from 2.6 percent when he became president next month.
We must be confident that underlying inflation is moving to our objective clearly and at sufficient speed. Otherwise, we have work to do. His remarks come amid the potential for even more price pressure, with President Trump intensifying the trade fight with Canada, imposing 50 percent tariffs on some Canadian goods and taking aim at a waterway the two countries share.
We’re going to be changing the name of Lake Ontario effective immediately to what a buffoon, absolute buffoon. Are you if you’re still a mega fan, are you listening to this? Are you not embarrassed by this? You’re paying for this through tariffs for every country in the world. We’ve made the entire world our enemy.
We don’t realize that probably 75 percent of all raw materials are no longer coming from America. They’re coming from countries all over the world. You know, if you live in the northeast, you live in the anywhere in the northern states, all the way from Chicago, all the way to Maine, you know, most of the electricity that you’re getting is coming from Canada in the major cities, not in the little towns, but in the major cities.
Are you aware that almost all of the fuel in eastern the United States, the only fuel, the only oil that can be turned into gasoline is coming from shale oil in Canada? If Canada was to block that oil, you’d have $10 a gallon oil right now. We’re lucky that Canada is keeping ahead on this whole this whole feud because they could boycott sending their shale oil to America for 90 days. The price of oil would go to $250 a barrel.
You would be paying $15, $10, $12, $15 a gallon for gas instantly, instantly. And I think people thenmight start holding this president accountable. Tariffs make trade wars.
Trade wars make world wars. And we’re on the verge of the greatest possible world war since the 1970s and early 80s, when really Ronald Reagan ended the possibility of a third world war. This man is bringing us at the third world war’s doorstep.
America, that’s going to take place right now as I sign the order. Canada said its retaliatory tariffs will match the U.S. levies dollar for dollar on nearly 20 billion U.S. dollars worth of American imports starting next month, raising the prospect of higher costs on both sides of the border. While all these shenanigans are happening, we’ll just be smart and we’ll be strategic and we’ll fight back.
That added pressure on consumers coming as the war with Iran passes the six-month mark and as gas prices have stayed above $4 a gallon all month, putting it on track to be the most expensive August on record.
The war was supposed to be over within a month. While talks between the U.S. and Iran have stalled and maritime data from Kepler shows shipping activity in the Strait of Hormuz remains at a trickle, the Trump administration says U.S. forces have cleared sea mines in the Strait.
International shipping lanes are open and momentum is building. That’s why a container ship was just sunk four days ago. Did you hear that anywhere in American press? Did you know a container ship with, I think it was 1,500 containers on it was sunk when it hit a mine in the Gulf? And we have our military pirating Trump’s, or parroting, I’m sorry, Trump’s remarks about the Gulf is open, more vehicles or more boats are going through there than ever.
It’s a lie. Like everything else, it’s a lie. That’s why you’re paying $4, $4.50 for gas, because the lie doesn’t make it to your pump.
The lie can’t lower the prices of things that you’re buying. It only can try to fool you that the prices you’re paying is just normal, but it’s not. And we were, we voted for this man, and this man voted, I voted for him three times.
We voted for this man because we wanted to get away from Democrat policies. We wanted to have true, true American first policies. That’s not what we have.
We have a Democrat in office, a Democrat on steroids. You might as well vote for the real thing if you’re going to, if you’re going to want a Democrat in, because that’s what we have. We have, and we’re going to get a lot more of them after this election.
As I have warned before, we’re going to get a lot more Democrats being in the Congress and being in the Senate. That’s going to be very bad for your future and for my future, because the Democratic party hates you. If you’re a middle-class American, mainly a white middle-class American, but if you’re a middle-class black or Hispanic who started voting Republican, they hate you.
They want to see you dead. If you don’t think they want to see you dead, look at their policies and how many people die because of their policies. We’re going to have a lot of that because of this president.
Now, the last subject I’m going to talk about now are stories about UFOs, why I believe you’regetting these stories today, the real cover-up going on, and it’s not what you’re being told if you watch the media. But here is a story from Phoenix, Arizona, Fox 10, about UFOs and what they mean and what they say it means.
The Pentagon released its sixth batch of UFO files as U.S.officials and the public seek to answer the question, are we really alone? Fox News’ RebeccaCastor breaks down some of the newly disclosed findings.
The latest wave of UFO files includes more videos of unexplained sightings in the sky over decades. Look closely at this film captured by a U.S. Navy officer in Utah in 1952. A group of orb-like objects moves across the sky.
What you’re actually seeing in this video, by the way, I’ll pause this for a second, what you’re actually seeing in this video is dots, not aircraft, white dots. Program Project Blue Book in the 50s and 60s. Investigators determined they were likely birds reflecting sunlight, but many other sightings in that time frame couldn’t be explained.
We’ve gone through these reports and come up with the fact that about 20 percent are very good reports offered by very reliable people and there are just absolutely no conclusions can be drawn. This was from 1952 that you just heard that statement. It was a 1952 statement.
Sightings are still being reported today all around the world. This video tracks an unknown light source in Colorado in 2023 and U.S. forces in the Middle East have also seen orbs in the sky moving as fast as 500 miles per hour. The ongoing conflict may explain some suspicious aerial.
We have jets that go 1,200 miles per hour. They’re American-made earth-bound jets going 1,200 miles an hour. But these sightings were in 2025, before the war began.
I think we’re going to be releasing as much as we can in the near future. The new disclosures are a part of President Trump’s UFO Transparency Initiative. There’s no transparency to this initiative.
There is a reason that Donald Trump is pushing this UFO file things and now he’s going to have a lot of these UFO Star Trek-y type people thinking that he’s doing the greatest thing in the world when all you’re really being done here is a diversion of attention, a diversion away from the real problems, diversion away from what God says in his Bible, diversion away from everything going on based on a lie. The aliens amongst us, people from foreign planets, people like us coming here thousands of millions of light years away is a lie. It’s that simple.
It’s nothing but a lie. What the UFOs are, for the most part, explainable. For the most part.
There are some that are not explainable, but most of those UFOs that you see are explainable. Most of them, like I said, when you really look into them, are going to be explainable. About, I don’t know the actual number, but about 10-15% of these UFOs turn out to be unexplainable because the answer are UFOs are really mostly demons or angels.
Go to the book of Ezekiel and you’ll find a very good rendition of what a UFO looks like, and it was the throne of God carried by archangels.
Today, however, most UFOs that people can’t explain that are real are going to be demons, and here’s a report about this about a Catholic priest who was removed by admitting what he says UFOs are. The Archbishop of Washington, D.C. hasremoved a priest as an exorcist after he suggested UFO sightings might be the work of demons.
In a Facebook video, Monsignor Steven Rossetti said, quote, as an exorcist, I wanted to raise thatdanger, and that is that demons like to hide. Adding, it’s my personal belief that probably many if not most of these UFO sightings are in fact demons. The Washington, D.C. Archbishop removed Rossetti for those statements saying they, quote, undermine the church’s very precise teaching on the devil, demons, and exorcism.
News Nation spoke to Monsignor Rossetti about the meaning of exorcism in the Catholic Church last October. We have the Jesus authority to cast out demons, and so the church today does what Jesus did. It preaches the good news, it prays for healing, and we cast out demons.
Now, the church tries to manage this somewhat complex and can be challenging ministry, so we don’t want everybody just running around throwing out demons. You know, you can, it ends up with problems, and there are problems in other phase when you don’t manage it. Rossetti is a prominent figure on social media as well, boasting 150,000 followers on Instagram.
He also works as a psychologist running a Washington-based non-profit called the St. Michael’s Center for Spiritual Renewal. I will say right now, I’m not saying that the guy knows what he’s talking about when it comes to exorcisms and stuff like that, but I think many people who really understand know that what UFOs are not explainable really are demons. There’s a CBN report on the same subject.
The presence of angels and supernatural events, the reality of spiritual beings and how they affect our world is the focus of CBN’s latest documentary. It’s called Investigating the Supernatural Angels and Demons, featuring CBN investigative reporter Billy Hollowell. This is Dr. Hugh Ross, an astrophysicist with a PhD from the University of Toronto.
He’s also the founder of Reasons to Believe, an organization dedicated to showing the compatibility of science and Christianity.
For Dr. Ross, there is no conflict between the scientific method and supernatural phenomena. How can we best understand and conceptualize thespiritual realm? Is it a mirrored existence of what we currently are experiencing? We can’t visualize dimensions beyond the dimensions we experience.
However, we can visualize phenomena in fewer dimensions than we experience. A mathematician, George Riemann, in the 19th century said, we can conceive of a realm where we only have length and width, and we can conceive of flatland people that are constrained to this two-dimensional realm. So, for example, the only way those two dimensional beings would have any idea of who I am is if I come into their dimensional realm.
But if I poke a finger through their plane, they’re going to think I’m a small circle. I’m way more than a small circle. And so this actually gives us a good picture of the difference between us and spiritual beings.
They appear, they disappear, going from one set of dimensions to another set of dimensions and going back. And that is the plain truth about what UFOs are that are unexplainable. They’re either angels or demons.
In this case, most of what we’re seeing are demons. You go to the message board, the Plain Truth message board, put in UFO in the search engine, and you will read all the articles you need to know, especially like what Ezekiel has to say about flying saucers. This is Bob Barney with the Sunday edition of The Plain Truth Today, brought to you by theplaintruth.com. Thank you.
