29:25MuteSettingsAirPlayHi, this is Bob Barney for The Plain Truth today, brought to you by theplaintruth.com, and I’m going to have a little different take on what’s going on in the world today with Donald Trump and the war that’s going on with Iran, the Middle East problems, the potential of runaway inflation and oil, but I wanted to go on another side of the equation. You see, if you even study the history of the American people, the American people really do not want to get in foreign entangled wars. I mean, that started even with George Washington, and we saw this in World War Two, and that was one of my biggest fears when I first started covering what was going on between Trump and Iran.I was afraid that the current administration was just not simply doing enough also to convince Americans that maybe we need to get there, and I’m going to have a show today really based upon just the problems it is to get America to go to war, and Franklin Delano Roosevelt, in my opinion, needed Pearl Harbor attacked for us to go to war. This is a poll. I got this from the Why We Fight series. It was a series I talk about often on this program by Frank Capra, Hollywood director and film producer, who went to work as a colonel in the propaganda wing of the United States Army after World War Two began, and he started doing propaganda films and the Why We Fight series films, and if you haven’t seen them, they’re the best propaganda films you’ll ever come across, and as he said, the best propaganda is always when you can tell the truth, and the Why We Fight series is the truth, but listen to this poll comparison between 1936 and 1941. Remember, 1936 and 1941, and this is before Pearl Harbor, but now England is having the blitz going on, France has fallen, and it looks like the good guys are going to lose in England and in France. Thus the march of conquest of the self-termed master racists changed our national attitude from 1936, when only one out of 20 Americans thought we would be involved in war, to 1941, when 14 out of 20Americans were willing to risk war if war was necessary to ensure Axis defeat. So there you had in just five years time, one in 20 to 14 in 20, and that is because both the media back then was pro-American, they weren’t communists like they are today, the people were more informed back then, unfortunately, than they are today. There’s too many things that sidelined people today that did not sideline people back in the 1930s, even though we were in the Great Depression. People were aware of what was going on in the world.I think we had a smarter American citizen in World War II, or that era, than we do today. But the other thing was, is Delano Roosevelt, Franklin Roosevelt, really did an outstanding job with Hollywood doing movies that was really in the late 1930s, preparing us for war in Europe. People don’t know that.I took a whole course in the University of Connecticut propaganda film back in 1976, and we studied all of these propaganda films that Hollywood did. Mr. Deeds Goes to Town, that was a very famous Gary Cooper movie. Guess what? It was a propaganda film preparing us for World War II.So was Casablanca, for example. So Casablanca was, the moral of that story was, the American boy had to leave the girl he loved to go fight the war, because that’s what Humphrey Bogart ended up doing, even though he was neutral in the beginning of the movie. But, well, the problem we have today, I think, is maybe, I don’t know, two or threefold.Number one, we don’t have the citizen, American citizen that we had in the 1940s. I would saythat there is maybe a small majority of Americans that still care about this country, they stillbelieve in God and country, they still believe in more conservative values, they stay married to thesame woman or the same husband, or for the most part, and they have a moral character. And I still think it maybe is half the country. But unfortunately, in World War II era, 1930s, it was probably three quarters or 90 percent of the country. The next problem we had in the 1920s, 30s, 40s, even the 1950s, up until Vietnam, we had a media that was pro-American. You know, Edward R. Murrow broadcasting from London during the Blitz for CBS, and these people did believe in the American way of life. They were true American citizens. They were not communists at the time. They were people who believed in our country and in our cause, and they saw the need, like Delano Roosevelt did, Franklin Roosevelt, they saw the need that America was going to have to get involved. They were over there, they were seeing what was going on, and they started preparing the American people for a war. This time around, we were not prepared for this Iran thing. The truth of the matter is, Donald Trump ran that there would be no more foreign wars, and matter of fact, he actually ran saying that day one, Ukraine and Russia war would end.Day one, Iran would give up all their nuclear weapons. Day one, peace would come to the world. America prosperity would be all over the place.Manufacturing would come back, and we were going to do it all with tariffs, and that turned out to be a disaster. We did some things there. Number one, we didn’t stop the war in Ukraine, and Putin has played Trump like a violin.Number two, Iran got more vocal against us. Number three, the truth of the matter is, these tariffs caused American manufacturing jobs to go away, inflation is still amongst us, and the people were not very happy. Back in June, when he bombed the nuclear sites, which I knew at the time, and I had a broadcast that these nuclear sites were not destroyed, and that’s why we’re going back andhitting them now, I wanted to see the job finished then.Maybe I was wrong, and that then better heads prevail, because they said, we didn’t prepare the American people for this, and you are not going to stop Iran without boots on the ground. I kind of think if he did a George Bush I, King George I, I always call him, and he got all our allies together, he got Europe behind us, he got England behind us, which he does have, I will give him credit, he’s got a lot of the Arab League behind us, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Dubai, Arab Emirates, these people are helping us in this war, and they’re being shelled mercilessly. But we did not do a good enough job getting our allies together, and we do not have a population today much like World War II, before World War II, a population willing to send American soldiers to a war they don’t see a need for.And I see the need for a war, and I’m going to play another very part of a famous movie, end of a movie, that was a very liberal, anti-Republican, anti-Nixon type movie, but it plays well today, and it was a very prophetic 50-year-old movie. You see, the problem with the American public, and I’m talking about, I’m not talking about all of the illegal aliens, which is probably 30, 40 million people, I’m not talking about the people who are not truly Americans, I’m talking about the real good American out there, the people like you and me that care about this country, but we do have a problem that we’ve always had in this country, and that is we tend to have a blind eye when it comes to danger. We do not see, because maybe the two oceans have separated us in the past, and we always thought nobody could ever attack us, we have always had this character that the enemy was not going to be able to attack us, that we were safe at home, and we still have that.Unfortunately, I talk to a lot of people, and most people who are especially against this war say, we should have never been in it in the first place. Then the next question I ask them is, if they had long-range ICBM missiles that could reach America, and if they were able to develop a quite powerful atomic bomb, one that maybe that could destroy most New York City, Washington DC, or Philadelphia, would that be a problem if you knew that was the truth? And then you’ll hear about, I would say the majority of them say, well, if that was the case, of course we would have to do something about it then, but not now, because they’re nowhere close to getting it. And that is the naive character that has historically hurt America going into a war.I’ll be right back after this message about theplaintruth.com. Hi, Bob Barney for theplaintruth.com. It’s the one place to go to to find out what’s going on, and what you can do about it, or what you can’t do about it, but how you can protect you, your family, and your friends by knowing the things going on around you. And the place to go to is theplaintruth.com. Please visit it every day. You will not be disappointed. And we’re back, and I was talking about this problem with the American character, and the idea that we just simply do not see danger when it’s there. And I believe, and I think people in the know believe, that Iran poses not only a danger to Israel, and not only a danger to the Arab world, not only a danger to Europe, because right now we know their missiles can reach downtown Berlin, but they also pose a risk to America in the future, and I don’t believe a very long future. And I’m going to play a part of a movie, and I’m going to let it play.I’m not going to tell you the name of the movie or anything about it until the very end, but I’m going to want you to listen to the words carefully, because this is America in 1976, and this is America in 1941, and this is America in 19, oh I’m sorry, in 2026. All right. Turner, why’d you call us so late? We’re worried about you.Likewise. A car for me? Yeah, it’s all right, it’s safe. I have a few hours of debriefing.Higgins? Yeah. Let’s say, for the purposes of argument, I had a 45 in one of my pockets, and I wanted you to take a walk with me. You’d do it, right? Which way? West, slowly.Stay in front of me about three or four steps. Where are we going? Wave them on ahead. Are you crazy? Am I? Look, Turner.Do we have plans? No, absolutely not. We have games. That’s all.We play games. What if? How many men? What would it take? Is there a cheaper way to stabilize a regime? That’s what we’re paid to do. Walk on.Go on. So, Atwood just took the games too seriously. He was really going to do it, wasn’t he?Renegade operation.Atwood knew 54-12 would never authorize it. There was no way, not with the heat on the company. What if there hadn’t been any heat? Supposing I hadn’t stumbled on a plan? Say nobody had. They’re a ballgame. The fact is, there’s nothing wrong with the plan. Well, the plan was all right. The plan would have worked. Boy, what is it with you people? Do you think not getting caught on a lie is the same thing as telling the truth? No. It’s simple economics.Today, it’s oil, right? In 10 or 15 years, food, plutonium, and maybe even sooner. Now, what do you think the people are going to do? Then. Ask them? Not now.Then. Ask them when they’re running out. Ask them when there’s no heat in their homes andthey’re cold.Ask them when their engines stop. Ask them when people who’ve never known hunger start going hungry. You want to know something? They won’t want us to ask them. They’ll just want us to get it for them. And I’m going to play the very end of this in a minute here, but I wanted to get in with a comment here because that is the plain truth of the movie. It’s the movie Three Days at the Condor. And if you haven’t seen it with Robert Redford, I really recommend you seeing it. And if you think because it’s a liberal propaganda against America, you’re probably right. But sometimes there’s reality even from the left. And what was going on back then was what we were going through right now. Oil from the Middle East, even though we are producing so much oil today. And then back then we were not producing the oil.We needed that Middle Eastern oil. But today we necessarily don’t. But it’s the same Middle East, the same problem, and the same thing about what that guy, Cliff Robertson, was the actor. He’s the CIA agent. And Robert Redford worked for the CIA, but he didn’t know what he really was. He read books for them. But it’s a very good movie. I really recommend you watching it. But he asked those questions. And I’m going to ask you those questions before I finish the movie here. It’s two more minutes. And I want you to honestly answer those questions.Because if you know today that Iran is going to hit us with nuclear weapons, missiles that would hit ground zero, New York City, Washington, D.C., maybe Philadelphia. They probably can’t hit west of Chicago if they get an ICBM, but maybe they can. For that matter, North Korea does have ICBMs that can reach San Francisco, LA, Salt Lake City, and Denver, Colorado, and possibly as far east as Chicago. So if there was a planned effort between Iran, North Korea, being supported by the Soviet Union, or now Russia, it’s the Soviet Union, same idea. They have been an enemy. They’re not our ultimate enemy. That’s Europe, but that’s another story. But the truth of the matter is, if you knew this was going to happen, you would say, oh, we’ve got to do something about it. But just like in this movie, we don’t know what’s going to happen or when it’s going to happen, so we don’t want to end a threat. This is the same problem that Franklin Delano Roosevelt fought when he became president in the 1930s. He saw, and all of his generals saw, and all of his advisors knew that Hitler was not going to be stopped by England or France, and that Japan was not going to be stopped by anyone, and that in the Pacific, Japan would take over the entire Pacific region, which would include China, with millions back then, hundreds of millions of people working as slaves for the Japanese. They would have taken over Korea, which they did. They would have taken over the Philippines, which they did. They would have taken over Australia, which they tried, and because of MacArthur, they failed. And all of this in the Pacific, and also in the Eastern, or I should say Eastern Europe and Western Europe area, you would have had England and all of its ships, a very powerful navy. You would have had France, not saying very much there, but all of Europe under the domination of Germany, and then eventually Russia, with all of its oil, with all of its mineral rights, because Russia, if the United States did not enter the war, I don’t care what anybody thinks about the Russian winter, Russia, once England was put out of the way, France was put out of the way, and America didn’t enter the war, Russia would have been defeated in a blink of an eye by the Germanblitzkrieg. And the only reason that the Russian front turned out to be the death knell for Hitler’sGerman supreme race was because of America entering the war, forcing Germany to put many troops, the greatest generally had, Rommel, into Africa, into Europe, to try to stop our D-Day invasion, which they could not do. So, like I said, I’m going to go to a commercial here in a few minutes, but what would we do today if we knew this was going to happen? I think most people would say, well, we can’t prove it’s going to happen because we got our head in the sand, just like the American people did in 1939.You saw that poll, you heard that poll, I should say. Only one out of 20 people said that we should fight a war in England to prevent, I’m sorry, in Europe to prevent Germany from dominating Europe, only one in 20. 19 out of 20 people in 1936 said nothing would get them convinced to go to war in Europe again because they were burnt so bad in 1918 when World War I. Then, I’m going to give you a poll, a Gallup poll in 1939 when the Blitzkrieg was going on, and then still only seven out of 20 people thought that we might have to get into the war, though most of those agreed they hoped it didn’t have to happen, and that is when bombs were falling nightly on England and London, destroying the city from above with air power from Germany. So, before it became 14 out of 20 thinking they’re going to go to war in 1941 before Pearl Harbor, we can see the American public has never really changed. I’ll be right back. Thank you.And we’re back and I’m going to play the final ending of the movie and then I want to have a little brief comment about it. It’s about two, two and a half minutes, but this is, you just heard him say, you know, what’s going to happen when the food runs out, when the oil runs out, the people are not going to want to be asked if they’re for it or not. They’re going to say, go get it.By the way, that is what happened in 1941 after Pearl Harbor was attacked. All of a sudden the American people in droves said, we are going to destroy Japan. We are going to utterly win this war.People lied about their age, like Audie Murphy, the most decorated man in American history and movie star to be, uh, when he was 15 years old, because everybody wanted to fight. Then two years earlier, they did not. Here is the end of the movie. And I’m going to talk about it. If you found a home, seven people killed. The company didn’t order it.Atwood did. Atwood did. And who the hell is Atwood? He’s you. He’s all you guys. Seven people killed. But by the way, if you’re not familiar with the company, that is what the CIA calls themselves. They always have really good sayings about different things, you know, targets and that we’re the company and stuff like that. But anyway, here’s some more. And you play fucking games.Right. And the other side does too. That’s why we can’t let you stay outside.Well, go on home. Go on. They’ve got it.Look, you know where we are. Just look around. They’ve got it.That’s where they ship from. They’ve got all of it. What he’s showing them here is the New York Times shipping department where they ship out the newspapers every day. What he’s telling him here is he gave the entire story to the New York Times to tell the people about what the CIA was doing to America through lies. He’s looking at the New York Times building. What? What did you do? I told him a story. You play games. I told him a story. Oh, you, you poor dumb son of a bitch. You’ve done more damage than you know. I hope so. About to be a very lonely man.It didn’t have to end this way. Of course it did. Hey, Turner. How do you know they’ll print it? You can take a walk. But how far if they don’t print it? Don’t print it. How do you know? How do you know? And what we found out since 1976 is the press is part ofdeep state and the press doesn’t print anything that they don’t want to print. That’s not in their interest along with a deep state that there is no free press. There is no such thing as other than in my humble opinion, the plain truth.com. There is no place that you’re goingto go to on TV or in a magazine. It’s all bought and paid for news.Who wants to pay gets their message out. You can’t watch TV without watching a hundred drug commercials every hour. Every time one of the news companies goes on break, you know the commercial is going to be for some prescription medication that you yourself cannot buy without a doctor prescribing and why it’s being hawked to you. It’s no good reason for it. Except these companies want you to go to your doctor and demand a drug that you know nothing about the side effects and a doctor is going to give it to you because he wants to keep you coming back because he’s all about making money. He’s not about what’s best for you.And so do you think when CBS, ABC, Fox News, News Nation, any of these new stations do ads for these drug manufacturers, they’re really going to be against vaccines? You think they’re really going to be running stories pro Robert Kennedy? Do you think they’re really going to be stories by these companies saying, oh, you shouldn’t take this drug. You think that’s going to happen? It’s not because the news you’re watching is bought and paid for, and it’s not bought and paid for people that have your interest at heart. And when he said what happens if they don’t print it is the case. How many whistleblowers have we seen in the last, I don’t know, a couple dozen years that whistleblowers basically ended up dead, ended up facing prison time and going to prison, or ended up just being completely dishonored, disrespected, and called a liar. It happens all the time. This is what happens when you go against the government. This is what happens when you go against big business. This is what happens when the news media is part of big business. You’re not getting the plain truth. This is the place you don’t go to get the plain truth. But what I wanted this show really about, though it’s a little commercial for theplaintruth.com, I will admit, but what this show is about is we need to defeat Iran. We do not have a president and a coherent administration that can do the job, it looks like.We don’t have generals that can do the job, for sure, because all our good generals have been basically laid off or gotten rid of over the years. And a lot of that, Biden, but before him, Obama just decimated the brainpower of what we had in the years. He only wanted to put queers as generals and lesbians as pilots and all this restructuring of the military, which is bringing disaster. We’re seeing, and we will see if we go to war, that we’re not the powerhouse that we’ve been told we are. We’re going to find out we really haven’t fought an enemy, a real enemy, since World War II. All of our wars were wars that we basically lost, Vietnam, Korea, because we did not have the will to win.And I don’t see that will to win now, and I certainly do not see the American people getting behind this war. They should, but they’re not going to. And part of this is the newspaper’s fault, the TV media’s fault.A lot of it is the Democrats’ fault, but a lot of it, you can place the blame right on the Republicans who have not made a case, and a president that is so arrogant that you can’t believe a word he says, and therefore, when you can’t believe what he’s saying, then you have a problem. The American public doesn’t believe we need to go to war. And that is what is going on right now.Every poll you see, American people say Iran was not going to attack us. It was not an imminent danger. What is an imminent danger? That they’re working on a nuclear bomb, and maybe it takes six years to deliver it? That’s not an imminent danger? It’s just total nonsense. But that is the American people. That is the American character. FDR knew it, so he had to stage Pearl Harbor. But we don’t know it today, and we have a problem, and I believe we’ve lost this war, personally. This is Bob Barney for ThePlainTruth.com, wishing you all the success in the world, and thank you for listening. Bye-bye.
