Friday Wrap-Up with Bob: February 28, 2025 (Transcript)

Well, it’s that time again…it is Friday, and this is the Friday Wrap-Up. This is Bob Barney with The Plain Truth Today, brought to you by The Plain Truth dot com, the one site that you go to every single day where you can find the latest news and what it all means for you and your family. You will also learn here if God has anything to do with that part of the news and if so, we will give you a mention about that.

I start off a lot of broadcasts by saying, reading or watching yesterday’s news might be fascinating, but it doesn’t help you in the planning of what’s going to happen tomorrow. What you really need is a newspaper where you can read tomorrow’s headlines or even next month’s headlines! Did you know that there is such a newspaper? Theplaintruth.com talks about that newspaper, and that newspaper is called the Bible. The Bible is actually giving you tomorrow’s headlines. People just don’t realize that.

3:10 We know that certain headlines are going to appear in the future in every broadcast and in every newspaper in the world, if they’re still around at the time of Jesus’ return. We’re going to see a headline that says a beast arrives in Europe. We know there is going to be a headline talking about the United States of Europe. We know there will be a headline that’s going to say that a new temple is being built on Jerusalem, on the Temple Mount. We also know there’s going to be a headline that the leader of the Holy Roman Empire moves his capital to Jerusalem and to the temple that he claims he is God. These are all going to be headlines because the Bible says so, and Jesus Christ, the greatest newscaster of all times, predicted them, and whatever the Bible predicts is going to happen!

I know a lot of people laugh and scoff at that idea, but I’ll take the Bible’s headlines over any other one.

Before we get into this week’s wrap-up, I just want to give you a little history lesson.

3:59 Are you aware that about 150, 200 years ago, I don’t remember the exact date, before Alexander the Great was even born, the prophet Daniel actually predicted the rise of Alexander the Great? Daniel spoke of where he would come from, and what he would do, and when Alexander the Great, who conquered the known world of his day, entered into Jerusalem with every plan on destroying the temple of God. Daniel spoke of when Alexander got to the temple and that the high priest handed him the scroll of Daniel, which he read…and he was reading about himself! Alexander read what he would do, and how his end would come, and he was so taken by what he read that he did not destroy the temple. Why? Because he knew that the God who predicted that had to be the real living God, and Alexander the Great, probably one of the first, second, or third Antichrist, really, of the Bible, Alexander the Great spared the temple in reverence to the God. The very God who predicted that he was going to come and who also predicted his end. 

Most people don’t know that story, but it’s the truth. It’s the plain truth.

So, we’re going to get into this week’s headlines, and what has been going on this week, and I think a lot of it, we’re going to talk about the budget. We are going to talk a little bit about Trump’s antics, what he’s doing, and what I think his plan is…and whether the plan works or not.

I think of some of the shortcomings that Trump is showing in this second administration he may have shown a little bit in his first administration just not as blatant as it is now. I understand, and I know what people are going to say, oh, he’s joking, you know, he has this great sense of humor, and I agree with that but I think a lot of the stuff he does is to poke at the people who just can’t stand him and that is his humor and he doesn’t see anything wrong with it. However, I have a problem, and the problem that I have is I’ve learned long ago that the truth, the plain truth, is not always what the people listen to. What people perceive is the truth becomes the truth. 

5:21 For example, people believe that Sunday is God’s Day.

Christians believe that. It’s a fake. It’s false news.

The Sabbath day, the Saturday Sabbath, is the only day ordained by God that you can worship him. Unfortunately, people have been convinced through the lying lips of pastors, and priests, and ministers, and theologians, that the Sabbath day, was changed into Sunday. That became the truth, but it’s not the real truth, but it’s what everybody believes.

Well, the same is applying to President Trump.

He may be thinking what he’s doing is a joke, like, for example, this week he aired an AI video of what Gaza would look like when Trump was done with it. In the video there is this big golden statue of President Trump, you know, like the statue in the book of Daniel. I mean, this man doesn’t even understand prophecy. What he is comparing himself to, he’s comparing himself to the head of gold, Nebuchadnezzar, who was absolutely destroyed by God, and had to live in the wilderness, eating grass like a cow, for seven years, because of his arrogance. God hates arrogance.

God hates haughty people, and he hates arrogant people.

7:21 God sometimes picks somebody, and I think God picked Donald Trump to be president, but, you know, God sometimes picks somebody to do something, and then afterwards changes His mind because of the person’s arrogance and disobedience to God.

Did you know there is a place in the Bible, and I am going to read this to you in a second, there’s a place in the Bible where God says, I am sorry that I made Saul my king. One just has to go to 1 Samuel chapter 15, and it is in verse 11 which I am going to end on, but let’s read the whole chapter to get an idea:

Saul was made the first king of Israel. God picked Saul, above all others, to be king, and he was very proud of Saul. And he looked up to Saul that he thought would make a great king. But Saul kept doing what Saul thought was right, and not what he was told by God to do. He disobeyed God over and over and over again, and he was a very arrogant man who put his own reputation above God’s. Something that King David, his successor, who had a big ego himself, never did. That’s why God says about David, the murderer, the adulterer David, that David is a man after my own heart. There’s a reason God loved David so much, because David knew who the boss was. Saul did not. 

9:10 Chapter 15, verse 1: This is from the Plain Truth Bible, red letter, where all of God’s words are in red, including in the Old Testament. One day, Samuel said to Saul, I crowned you king. Samuel is a prophet who made, who’s got a book in the Bible named Ephraim. He is the first real big prophet that’s to profit during the time of Saul and David the king. Verse 1, 15, verse 1. One day, Samuel said to Saul, I crowned you king of Israel because God told me to do so. Now be sure you obey him. Here is the commandment to you. I have decided to settle with the nation of Amalek for refusing to allow my people to cross their territory when Israel came to Egypt. Now go and completely destroy the entire Amalek nation. Men, women, babies, little children. This is Jesus Christ speaking, by the way. You know, the Jesus Christ that everybody wants to make effeminate with long hair and long fingernails that you see on all these posters, but Jesus looks like he did not.

This is Jesus Christ as God of the Old Testament. Jesus Christ is the Yahweh, the Jehovah of the Old Testament, speaking here through Samuel. He says, completely destroy the entire Amalek nation. Men, women, babies, little children, oxen, sheep, camels, donkeys. Destroy everything.

Yes, that’s in your Bible. 

11:32 1 Samuel chapter 15, verse 4. So Saul mobilizes his army. There were 200,000 troops in addition to the 10,000 men from Judah. The Amalekites were camped in the valley below them. Saul sent a message to the Kenites telling them to get out from among the Amalekites or else they would die with them. Quote, for you were kind to the people of Israel when they came out of the land of Egypt. So the Kenites packed up and they left. They understood what God was going to do to them. Then Saul butchered the Amalekites from Havilah all the way to Shur, east of Egypt.

He captured Agag, the king of the Amalekites, but killed and killed everyone else. However, he killed the babies, the little children, all of the troops, all of the men of the Amalekites. However, Saul and his men kept the best of the sheep, the oxen, and the fattest of the lambs, everything, in fact, that appealed to them. They destroyed only what was worthless to them or poor quality. Then the Lord said to Samuel, quote, read a letter in the Bible from the plain truth, I am sorry that I ever made Saul king, for he has again refused to obey Me, unquote. Samuel was so deeply moved when he heard what God was saying that he cried to the Lord all night long.

13:45 Early the next morning, He went out to find Saul. Someone said that he had gone to Mount Carmel to erect a mountain, a monument to himself. Look at that video of the golden statue of President Trump in the midst of the Gaza Plaza next to the Trump Casino in that video. Talk about arrogance to God. When Samuel finally found him, Saul greeted him cheerfully. Hello there, he said. Well, I have carefully carried out the Lord’s instructions. You know, what you say is not necessarily the plain truth. Samuel says back to him, then what is all the bleeding of the sheep that I hear right now as I enter the camp? Oh, it’s true, Saul admitted. I spared the best for our people, but I sacrificed everything else to God and I killed everything else that he told me to. Then Samuel said to Saul, stop, listen to what the Lord said to me last night. What was it, Saul asked. And Samuel said, when you didn’t think much of yourself, God made you king of Israel and he sent you on an errand and told you go and completely destroy the sinners, the Amalekites, until they are all dead. Then why didn’t you obey the Lord? Why did you rush for the loop and do exactly what the Lord told you not to do?

My message, and before we get on to the rest of this week’s wrap-up and news, is President Trump better not be arrogant when it comes to the face of God or he will find himself killed like Saul or eating grass like a cow, like Nebuchadnezzar, until he learns the plain truth of God is in control. God spared Trump’s life from a bullet.

God made Donald Trump president, and God can remove him as president. 

14:55 We need Trump to be the greatest president of this century and maybe the greatest president of all time, but he cannot do so with an arrogant spirit. He has to do so humbly. I know that’s not his character, but it was David’s character and David was a great leader and a man after God’s own heart. And if I were Trump, I would care what God thinks of me a lot more than what I think of myself or what any person thinks of me.

So that’s all I have to say and I’m hoping that someone gets to President Trump, maybe God’s prophet can get to him somehow, and tell him clean up your act and don’t be so arrogant and lead by example and lead like Ronald Reagan led by knowing how to communicate with people and to assure people.

 We are living in a time right now where the economy is not getting better. We’re spending money in Gaza. We’re going to spend money in Ukraine. We’re doing all of these things and maybe they can be good in the long run. Maybe these tariffs will work however, right now the tariffs are giving us inflation and we don’t even have tariffs yet. Just the thought of them is causing inflation. 

My prices for the raw materials for paint keeps going up and up and up even though the business is down. Everybody’s business is down. Everybody is still in a recession or if you’re out of work, it is a depression and yet President Donald Trump is more worried about showing videos of himself as a Nebuchadnezzar-like golden king statue than he’s worried about the people who put him in office.  God is the One who made him king of America or president of America because a king is a president to God or a president is a king, I should say, and it’s about time that he learns to follow what he said he would do and not just say he did stuff and he didn’t do it. And that is arrogance, my friend. I’m sorry if I have to be so harsh about this and I’m sorry if you are an ever-Trumper and think Trump can do no wrong. He is doing wrong.

15:59 I don’t know what’s happening lately, but it seems like we had another near miss at Washington Reagan airport with another American Airlines plane that nearly avoided a tarmac collision with another airplane. Just last month we had that American Airlines landing at that airport with a helicopter from the military Blackhawk that crashed into it and 65 people were killed. So there’s something going wrong with the FAA and I do hope that the new administration can get to the bottom of it. This is not something that happened under Donald Trump’s watch. The FAA had too much DEI going on and I think a lot of people are air traffic controllers that do not deserve to be air traffic controllers.

We’ve been covering this in both the Plain Truth Today broadcast, we have published some videos on the topic and also we have been covering this also on the Message Board and you can keep up with all these plane issues going around. We have to get that thing settled or people are going to be afraid to fly and that really hurts the economy as well. 

Speaking of the economy. The economic woes are not going away yet. In my humble opinion, they’re actually getting worse. They’re getting worse not only in my business, but in many other businesses. Crypto, you know, Bitcoin’s down 25% in just two weeks and the stocks are doing bad as well.

16:04 I’m going to give you a brief story about what is going on in my industry. I mentioned this earlier in the week, but I want to finish this with the idea of the paint business, the automotive paint business, which is really in serious trouble right now. The largest distributor of paint, not in a manufacturer like we are, TAMCO is a manufacturer, but the largest distributor of paint, Finish Masters, have had a huge loss and are closing stores all over the country. This just shows you, again, the problems that we’re really having when it comes to the economic woes. People are afraid to spend money. I also think, to a lesser degree, there’s a lot of worry and panic going on in this country because no one really knows what’s going on…and that’s a problem when no one knows what’s going on because as a result, they are afraid to spend money. 

Fact is that there are a lot of Latin type shops and Florida, Texas, California, Arizona, and New Mexico and I have news for you…they make up about 50 to 60 percent of all body shop business’ and that is all the paint for body shops which are done in those five states. They’re very large. They’re large for us and they’re large for everybody. So, this is one of the important things that is happening, and I think I have figured it out and I don’t think anybody else has yet.

17:05 There is paint inventory on eBay that I want to discuss. Yes, you can go to eBay and buy paint but I’m not trying to get people to go to eBay and buy brand name paints at below cost…I mention this because I think what is really going on is there is a lot of inventory from these companies’ taking losses. Hear me out. I think I know why there is some of the inventory losses that there are at these big companies like Advance Parts who had a $1.5 billion loss last year…and also CarQuest. I think they had over a billion in losses and there’s a lot of inventory shrinkage. Even Finish Masters, which is the biggest distributor of most of these big brand name products had losses. Well, I’ve been told by insiders about those on the inside of these operations that they had such bad inventory shrinkage last year and that they don’t know where this product went. Well, I can tell you right now when you go to sites like eBay and you see product that is selling for way below what anybody could buy it for from a store…it tells me that there is a black market in play…yes, a thievery going on.

 I think maybe these Venezuelan gangs that have taken over apartment houses who basically are the new mafia are a part of this quite possibly.

 Back in the 1960s, John Gotti got his start with the Gambino family. He was robbing grocery truck deliveries. I mean, tractor trailer loads of grocery trucks, and he was taking the free product that he stole, butter, cheese, milk, groceries of all kinds, coffee, tea, you name it, and he was selling it all to the local Italian stores in the New York area. This was a big problem.

18:34 I had a friend that was in racing with me a long time ago when I was on his race team and in the early 60s, and he was driving the tractor trailer for Stop & Shop. He said he would go to a restaurant and sit down at the counter and order a coffee and all of a sudden, there’d be a guy to the right of him and a guy to the left of him. He would look around thinking, what’s going on? And all of a sudden there would be five $20 bills, a hundred dollars and the guy would say, if you know what’s good for you, you’ll report your truck missing, you know, stolen from this restaurant, but you won’t report it for an hour. Well, in an hour, they took the truck and they unloaded it in a local warehouse somewhere, and they put the truck somewhere else where it could be found. An hour later, of course, he would call and say, hey, I walked out the door from the restaurant to look, and my truck’s gone, but he waited that hour. These were the Gotti people who were stealing these truckloads of foods and selling it to Italian grocers in the area and making a heck of a profit. How? There was no cost involved when you’re stealing something. Of course, that was also going on with cigarettes and liquor and you name it. This is what made John Gotti the main man in the mafia, and it was his start of taking over the Gambino family by the 1970s and early 1980s. 

Once again, I believe you have these Venezuelan and other South American gangs who illegally crossed the border under the Biden watch, and they have set up a whole operation of robbing stores and warehouses of their goods and then putting the product on places like eBay and other sites to sell it and windfall profits. I mean the inventory shrinkage at these department stores and grocery stores and these home building stores; the inventory shrinkage is large and it’s too large to be one or two employees stealing something. It’s more like a concerted effort of these gangs to place people in positions where they can steal literally truckloads of product and then they put it on eBay or other market sites, I would say Facebook market probably even more than eBay, and then you see products being sold that you think is great pricing.

20:45 Well at first, I thought when I saw certain products priced so low that I thought they probably were counterfeit, maybe Chinese counterfeits, you know coming into the port and they had the label of a brand name and that they really weren’t the brand name products inside. But I was told by people who were buying this stuff that when they really looked at it, it was in fact the brand names that they thought it was, and they were getting it for half the price less than what their discount price was from the big distributor stores. That tells me you’re not looking at counterfeit here, but you are looking at gross corruption and thievery and that is what is driving these businesses bankrupt.

 I believe the article that I put it up last week said Advance Parts was going to shut down like three or four or five hundred stores and CarQuest the same. Also, O’Reilly was going to shut stores and Finish Masters, the largest paint store operation in the United States has been losing money hands over fists and shutting stores. This is going to be a real problem and for not only the paint companies, but for mainly these distribution networks who cannot stay in business and the other problem that you have is that the big paint companies are moving away from distribution and they’re finding these big multi shop operations.

There’s about four or five body shop buying groups where they’re buying out all the little body shops and they are merging them into one of them. I was told this by a good friend of mine. They have 955 body shops that they own across the country and so what you’re going to start seeing is price fixing and no competition like there’s no competition in automotive paint.

22:45 I told you the story last week about how when I got into the business in 1980, there were over 116 automotive paint manufacturers in the United States and now there’s about 14 or 15 and the big five went from having a 20, 25 percent market share. In the turn of 1980 and now they have a 99 percent market share and the prices went from reasonable to very unreasonable to be honest and what this ends up doing is going to cost you as a consumer. This will be so because now when you have these conglomerate body shops, they are going to be able to tell the insurance companies in many areas that they control all the body shops what they’re going to pay for labor and what they’re going to pay for paint material.

Guess who pays that in their insurance premium?

I think if you own a car in the last four years your insurance rates in most areas have tripled, yes, literally tripled. I know our insurance rates for vehicles, and we have no accidents, no claims or anything…ours have doubled in two years’ time. I pay an ungodly amount for vehicle insurance for our different businesses and our different operations and it’s getting out of hand! I sound like a broken record, but Hopefully the Trump administration will get off the foreign affairs thing and off of the sending back of illegals. I’m not against sending back the criminals, but at the same time they need to get back to looking at big business. This is why I’m against the billionaires surrounding Donald Trump. They look at the big business they got to look into this and the monopoly is being formed and every business there is there’s eight to ten food companies that control most of what you buy in a grocery store.

23:55 That’s why your prices are going up and it doesn’t have to do with the deficit and the inflation like people are trying to say. It has somewhat to do with that but just like you have a cartel when it comes to the price of oil and the price of gas really has nothing to do with the price of oil, it has to do with a few major oil producing countries fixing the price of oil. Under the Biden administration they allowed America to stop producing oil and getting oil which put us back under the oil cartels around the world and that’s why our gas prices are high. I mean I went through a place today where gas is actually a dollar more a gallon than it was a year ago and I couldn’t believe what I saw, and it was a town not too far from where I live. We were dropping our car off to get serviced and it was a town that always had the most inexpensive gas around and the gas prices are just absolutely stunningly high, and this is the kind of thing I think that Donald Trump’s administration is really going to have to look into. The monopolies controlling the food…the monopolies controlling your insurance…the monopolies controlling the banking industry you know the regional banks are the strength of America and we’re seeing regional banks go bankrupt. They are getting pushed out by the big banks and the big banks get bailed out by Uncle Sam whenever they make bad loans, and they do their DEI programs which makes them lose tens of billions of dollars.

Back to the government and that they get bailed out. Well, the regional banks didn’t get bailed out. They are closing and they’re hurting really bad. I try to deal as much as I can with a regional bank a big one in our area and the reason is that I realize once these regional banks go away, it’s like the paint industry…you’re going to have runaway inflation when it comes to your bank. I have one account in a big bank. I won’t mention their name but they said, you know you ought to put your money in a money market and we can pay you five and a quarter percent and I did it and I was watching very good interest rates coming in and then the other day I looked at my statement and was It was 13 cents on twenty thousand dollar deposit!

25:35 Knowing it went from 5.25 to 0.001…this is what happens with big banks. They’re thieves I forgot who it was because somebody used to call the banksters like mobsters…They’re banksters and this is with the food industry. This is with the insurance industry. This is with the banking industry. This is with even the big corporate farm industry most organic foods really are organic Technically, but they get away with it because government lets them get away with it and these are the things we’re going to have to get into in order for the little guy out there…the average middle class and lower middle class people to survive we’re going to have to have an administration that takes their attention away from the things that are not important for the average American that voted for Trump. They have to get laser focused and break up these monopolies. Doing what they can do to help bring prices down any way they can…tariffs wouldn’t be bad, but tariffs are bad if a few monopolies are just going to pass off the tariffs to you and not have to absorb them because there’s no more competition.

 Well, that’s what I have to say for this week. That’s the wrap-up. We’re about out of time but I do want to get into talking about The Plain Truth dot com and The Plain Truth Today which is what you’re listening right now and where all of the podcasts and broadcasts are.  We have three a day, 7:11 in the morning, 7:11 PM and at 12:01 to be exact midday. I think we put up great shows and I think I have a pretty good show. We also put up people like Bill O’Reilly, Megan Kelly, Tucker Carlson and other people that I even disagree with yet have a legitimate point to make. I don’t put up like most do, any MSNBC stuff or CNN stuff because these people are so far to the left so much to the communist side, I don’t even want to hear what they have to say.

27:24 Remember tomorrow is the Sabbath day. It hasn’t been done away with and wasn’t changed to Sunday. I hope everyone has a great Sabbath day and a great weekend and remember God tomorrow and we’ll have our Sabbath program tomorrow morning at 7:11 a.m.  I haven’t picked one out as of this morning, but we’ll have some sort of short story again for the 7:11 PM broadcast…maybe a radio broadcast is what I like to do from the 40s and 50s.

Then of course Sunday morning at 7:11 we will have something special as well. I sometimes change things up, maybe I will do something about the FAA and the airplane issues. I try and do a more political show on Sunday. But we have some stories about this on the main page, you will find they have a lot to do with pilot error and lack of experience on the pilot’s part. We covered this on the main page and the Message Board. As Buddy Baker used to say announcing for NASCAR, the guy ran out of talent on the fourth corner. Sometimes like in Toronto, pilots are running out of talent. It came down twice the speed then it should have. We had a Megan Kelly show on that and a pilot was explaining it needed to be brought down so much slower. Then there was a story done by my brother-in-law, Joe Kovacs, about how many females are the ones flying these planes…I am so sick and tired about all this DEI stuff and people’s safety being compromised…this is not what we should have when it comes to public safety, it should be by merit. We need to be color blind.

The weekend is approaching, and I hope everyone has a safe weekend. We are going to be very cold here and we have actually had a lot of snow.
