The Plain Truth is so Happy That You Have Been Enjoying Bob’s Broadcasts.
2000 years ago, a newscaster that we know of as Jesus Christ warned us about false Christianity. The warning was not against the devil but against false Christianity…about people who come in His name and deceive many.

Hi, Bob Barney for The Plain Truth Today, brought to you by theplaintruth.com, and we have some notes today that I wanted to bring up because there are some forced changes upon theplaintruthtoday.com.
The website that we used to make this and broadcast it through theplaintruth.com is going away at the end of September, and so we have to find a way now, which we’ve already hired a company to migrate all the information from the Plain Truth Today over to theplaintruth.com, and it might take a few weeks, I’m not sure, but the Plain Truth Today website that we know of, even though it’s being pointed, I don’t know how to explain it, but it’s being pointed to a website, even though we keep the name plaintruthtoday.com, but it will all be part of WordPress, and so we’re migrating that over, and so probably there might be some glitches.
I know there already were a lot of glitches last week where a lot of people tried to get on to listen to the broadcast, and they could not get on because we are using a back-end program called TypePad, and I’ve had it since 2009. It’s been what theplaintruth.com used to be driven off of until we went to WordPress for theplaintruth.com, but we stayed with the Plain Truth old TypePad website for theplaintruthtoday.com. Kind of confusing. I’m sorry I’m confusing you if I am, but that TypePad site is going away at the end of September, and so what you’re going to find out is that when you go to the main page of theplaintruth.com, which a lot of people probably do now, there’s going to be tabs up top that’s going to say Your Health Today, the Message Board, the Podcast, and of course the main page is always right there. We’ll probably have some categories across the top similar to what, if you’re familiar with the Daily Mail, the Daily Mail does.
So we’re probably going to have Bob Barney Commentaries, which will have all the podcasts plus anything I write would be there.
And we’ll probably have some other tabs across the top, but that’s probably going to take some time. So there’s going to be a little downtime. There’s going to be a little problems.
And so this week I will say that I probably will not do as many shows as I normally do. I’ll probably put up some YouTube videos and some old shows that I did because I kind of think that it would be a waste of new shows to do too many new shows this week when we’re not sure when we’re going to pull the plug on typepad and go live to the WordPress version of these podcasts. Now I believe the experience for the reader and the listener is going to be much better the way we’re going.
It’s going to be all at one site. It is now, but it goes to different websites. You don’t know it because the way GoDaddy works or Network Solutions work is you have a name, Your Health Today, for example, but you’re pointing it to another website that really only has a number, you know, 192 dot bop, bop, bop, bop, boom. And that’s the real identity of that website. And GoDaddy or Network Solutions, we use both. They take your name that you want to use dot com and they assign it to that number. So what we’ll do now is we will just assign it to a different page on WordPress. What this will do, however, it will give us much better, as I understand it, Google rankings. And those Google rankings will help us be able to be found more. Right now, honestly, if you put in the plain truth, you’re going to get all kinds of other websites and you’re not going to really find us unless you put my name in and then you find us. Once we’re all in one website and we’re not having others, I probably will migrate Your Health Today from Blogger to the same thing into WordPress. I don’t think I can do it with the message board and the message board will probably stay where it’s being hosted because it is the oldest thing I have going. It goes all the way back to 2008. It’s got the best search engine of anything I’ve ever seen, and it has, I think, the best analytics of any of the programs that I’ve used or experienced, including WordPress, typepad, you name it. For example, when you do research on how much people come to your website, it will give you your total monthly, weekly, daily, monthly, even three-monthly, six-monthly, and yearly unique IPs that come and then the total hits that come. For example, one person may come 15 times a day and that will only count as one unique a day, and that’s kind of important for us to know how well a story is doing or a broadcast is doing. That’s the unique number we have. Then there is the one guy that comes 15 times a day, well, that would be 15 hits a day.
You might have a number of, let’s say, you have 3,000 hits in a day, but it might be only 100 people and click in many, many, many times. If you have, let’s say, 900 unique IPs coming every day, that’s really saying something because then you might have 20,000, 25,000 hits. People think of hits meaning something, but the unique IPs mean the most. How many different people are coming to your website? This is the things we’re going to have. Be patient with us this week because, like I said, I don’t think we’re going to do full shows this week. We will probably put stuff in at 7-11 a.m., 7-11 p.m., and noontime, but they won’t necessarily be all new shows or even all my shows this week. This is the noontime show for today, for example, and it’s only going to be a short 7-11 show just to explain what’s going to happen this week. We have some good programming that went on this morning and a really good show going on tonight, and we’re going to do some, like I said, some of the videos that we’ve been doing, and that’s what this week’s going to be. By Friday wrap-up, and I will do a Friday wrap-up, by the Friday wrap-up, I will know probably the time frame when we go live with the new site.So that’s the wrap-up of Monday here. Thank you for listening. We appreciate you. Please stay patient. We’ll see you again tomorrow. Bye-bye.
