LISTEN TO BOB BARNEY’S 7:11 BROADCAST: WHY DOES GOD ALLOW TRAGEDY? PART 1

By now, the big news is the things going on in Israel, the modern-day Jewish nation that takes the name Israel, which really belongs to the tribe of Joseph, but that’s not today’s story. We have, from time to time, run on theplaintruth.com, an article by myself and also by some other people.

Why does God allow tragedy to happen?

Why did little children get beheaded and women raped and killed and paraded dead through the streets of Jerusalem with an attack by Hamas a couple weekends ago?

Why does God allow this to happen?

And the Jewish people are part of God’s chosen people.

Why would this happen?

Why would an all-loving God allow this to happen?

Well, the answer is quite simple, yet most people do not want to believe this answer. And so, I’m telling you now, some people are not going to want to listen to this and they’re going to think this is cruel on my part. A long time ago, there really were two beings called Adam and Eve. Adam and Eve are the first two human beings created by God in God’s own image.

We went over that in the last broadcast where I explained that unlike animals that are created in their own kind, where they reproduce in their own kind, man was produced in the God kind.

Let us make man in our image, God said among themselves.

That is God the Father and God that became Jesus Christ, talking amongst themselves. And so, man has a special purpose on this earth. He is of the God kind, not of the humankind. So, when God created Adam and Eve, of course, we all know the story how Eve was fooled by the devil, disguised as a serpent who could speak, a snake some people think, some kind of a lizard other people think, but that’s not what’s important.

She was deceived and she deceived Adam and they both sinned by not obeying God, God’s laws that he set forward about not eating from the tree of knowledge. And so, sin entered the world and death of humankind entered the world. You notice I didn’t say death of all kind because that is a Christian belief that is just not biblical in nature. But when God created Adam and Eve and they were in the Garden of Eden and life was simple for them, God would talk to them and they would talk to God face to face. God would walk among them and then they sinned and they hid themselves from God. God goes walking through the garden and he’s looking for them and he says, where are you? And Adam says, we’re hiding. Why are you hiding?

Well, he says, we’re hiding because we’re naked and we didn’t want to see you naked. But his real reason was he didn’t want to let God know that he’d disobeyed him. But God says back to him, well, who told you you’re naked? And did you eat from the tree of knowledge that I told you not to eat of? And Adam says, oh, the woman you gave me, she gave me the fruit and she made me eat it, blaming someone else, human nature. And so, God says to Eve, what have you done? And of course, she blames the serpent, beguiled me and he made me do it.

And so, pushing it off on somebody else. But to make a long story short, the first person or the first things to hide between God and man was man hiding from God. God did not hide from man at first, but man hid from God. And so, the time God threw Adam and Eve out of the garden and would not let them reenter, God decided to let mankind go their own way. And as I mentioned in a previous broadcast, man has had a certain era of mankind’s existence, some people believe it’s 6,000 years, to have his own government, to have his own laws, to have his own religion. Sometimes we put God’s name in that religion, but in most cases, God has nothing to do with man’s religion. And so, man has gone his own way. And that’s the way most of us wanted it.

And most people today still want it. You see, you wanna make your own decisions until the day you die. And you really do not, contrary to what you may even think, you really do not want God telling you what to do all the time, especially when God tells you things that you want to do, that he doesn’t want you to do. So therefore, if we’re eight years old, eight months old, or 80 years old, we’re about the same to God. We want to live our own life, we wanna do things our own way, and then when trouble happens, we call out to God for help. And in some cases, God does help. But in some cases, God does not help. And so, this is why tragedy happens, because God has allowed us to make our own decisions, and most tragedies happen because of decisions that someone made. Oftentimes, it’s very sad to say that the victim of the tragedy is not the one who broke God’s law and made decisions that caused the tragedy to happen. Many times, there are innocent bystanders that are the victim, and that’s very sad indeed. But God really has a hands-off approach on this world. This is still Satan’s world. I told you this in the last broadcast. Satan is not God.
