    Friday Wrap-up for February 6, 2026

Hi, this is Bob Barney with The Plain Truth today, Friday wrap-up, brought to you by theplaintruth.com and where we go over the big stories of the week and if we have enough time, we go over what’s going to be over the weekend. We always have a Sabbath show tomorrow on the Sabbath day and Saturday is the Sabbath day. If you want to follow the Ten Commandments that everybody wants posted in the schools and in the courthouses, they ought to follow the Ten Commandments and the fourth is honor the Sabbath day.

The latest breaking news is probably something you’re not going to be watching on TV or reading in your newspaper today, but it’s an important big news because it’s a story that’s never going to go away and in fact, I think there is smoking gun here. A newly released Department of Justice document shows that investigators reviewing the surveillance footage from the night of Jeffrey Epstein’s death observed an orange-colored shape moving up a staircase towards the isolated locked tier where his cell was located at approximately 1039 on that date. The entry in an observation log of the video from the Metropolitan Correction Center appears to suggest that someone previously unreported by authorities, was there.

It was a flash of orange that looks to be going up the stairs and it could possibly be an inmate being escorted up to that tier. It appears according to the FBI memorandum that the reviews by the investigators led to a conclusion by the FBI and those examining the same video from the Department of Justice as being suspicious. The FBI describes the fuzzy image as a possible inmate and the DOJ officer of Inspector General’s analyst says it’s possible someone was carrying an inmate linen or bedding upstairs.

The final report by the Inspector General at approximately 1039 p.m. showed again that unidentified person or that flash of orange being noted and not previously reported in the official death certificate of Jeffrey Epstein. Now if you just want to believe this official story that Jeffrey Epstein committed suicide then again like I said last Friday wrap up on another issue you need to go to New York and try to buy the Brooklyn Bridge and you will find somebody that will sell it to you if you’re stupid enough to give them the money. But every time I listen to the Jeffrey Epstein stories being propagated and on TV or radio or in the newspapers I think of this scene and I’ll try to turn it up loud here I think of this scene from The Naked Gun.

It was a really funny scene and a rocket goes into a fireworks factory and the fireworks are exploding all over the place and everybody is gathering to watch it and the idiot Inspector Drebin who’s the star of the show here says these famous words please disperse nothing to see here and that’s what we’re being told about the Jeffrey Epstein thing that there’s nothing to see here and it’s just full of crap because there’s a lot to see here. 

It was definitely a murder and Jeffrey Epstein did not kill himself and as we see the Donald Trump administration doing everything it can do to bury this story constantly including all of these wars we’re fighting Venezuela Iran one story after another Minneapolis these are all diversion tactics so you do not find out what’s in the Epstein files at all and I don’t know the reason for it but Trump’s name was mentioned 5600 times again…

 I’m not saying he did anything wrong here but I will tell you that it doesn’t look good if you’re an outsider looking in does it but anyway that is really I think the biggest story of the week but we’ll have to see this story play out further but I noticed this today so far when I’m doing this show so far there has been no mention on any of the TV shows or the online things that I read except I saw it on Drudge which is anti-Trump now. 

 I don’t know whatever happened to Matt Drudge but he’s gone but the next story that was also today and this was on a website called Deadline it looks like something like a Daily Mail type story but Republican Tim Scott and you can find this story if you’re interested and look at it and look at the picture on our message board and it’s it was posted this morning Republican Tim Scott calls Donald Trump’s post of a video that depicted the Obamas as apes as quote the most racist thing I’ve seen out of this White House and I don’t know I guess he’s seen other racist things out of the White House but while Democrats have condemned Donald Trump’s truth social post of a video featuring a racist AI depiction of Barack and Michelle Obama as apes.

 one of the President’s strident defenders now is calling it out Senator Tim Scott who is chairing the GOP Senate campaign efforts wrote I am praying this was fake because he goes on to say because this is the most racist thing I’ve seen out of this White House and the President should remove it however like everything else this President has been doing he doesn’t ever remove anything or apologize for anything the White House it goes on the story goes on to say the White House has acknowledged that Donald Trump did post this video and defended it they defended the President for doing so White House Press Secretary Caroline Levitt said in a statement quote this is a form this is from I’m sorry an internet meme video depicting President Trump as the king of the jungle and the Democrat characters as the lion in the Lion King please stop the fake outrage 

I don’t know how you call this fake outrage at all I’m really sorry I have a good sense of humor I really do have a good sense of humor Blazing Saddles is one of my favorite movies of all time and in most TV shows stations won’t even play it unedited except for TCM

so I have I have a very good sense of humor and I do believe that so many things people get outraged over the simplest things they should not be outraged over that being said I kind of think if you take black people and you depict them as apes then it’s it’s kind of over the top and I-think black people shouldn’t be offended Donald Trump by the way seems to be trying to offended turn every support he got from minorities for his election last year he had a very largeHispanic following that voted for him hoping he would be like Trump 1.0 he’s lost half or three quarters of that according to polls he had a very large black male turnout for him breaking away from the Democrats and once again the same thing you could say is happening he has turned black people against him as well he’s really setting up a huge Republican failure this fall that’s all I can say he’s trying his best to make sure the Republicans lose the House and the Senate and even Tim Scott who is an apologist for this White House in almost every single thing it’s almost nauseating had to draw the line here because he just could not explain it any better than what I just told you

 it is a racist post made on truth social another problem I have by the way is that why should we allow a elected official especially the President of the United States of America to have their own only their that they own social media that you have to read his comments on his website which is not a government website 

all pro all notifications coming from the White House should be available to all social media or on government-owned sites this idea that you have to go to a site that’s owned by him it’s just it just shows you this this total misusing of the office 

and by the way one other story that I’ll you know and then we’ll move on to other things one other story on again on the message board right up to the top is Trump wanted Dulles Airport and Penn Station in New York named after him in exchange for releasing federal funds

 if that’s not corrupt I don’t know what is and I’m sorry but it’s corruption and it’s just megalomania that is not good for this country at all

 this week Germany’s chancellor Mertz promises an arms cooperation with the Qatari government so we’re seeing the middle east and Assyria because that’s who Germany is making a trade and and a military agreement and you’re going to see as i have been saying and predicting because it’s in the bible that Europe is going to replace America we’re not going to throw Europe out of nato they’re going to throw us out of nato watch keep watching news events in Europe and if you follow the plain truth you will be following news events in Europe and Asia because we understand who the players are in the game and uh the idea that you’re seeing a revived Germany flexing their muscles and another story we had is now Germany and the eu are talking about nuclear bombs.

 that should scare everyone and we also had a story it’s entitled nuke weapons for japan and Korea think about that the unthinkable is now thinkable in the far east Canadian prime minister mark carney’s rupture is forcing regional governments former u.s allies in particular into some very uncomfortable places uh i argued and i’ve been saying all along that everyone in the world is rethinking their partnership with America 

on a on a side note Germany still has a thousand tons of gold stored in American uh reserves most of it’s in new york city controlled by the fed and now they’ve already repatriated a lot of their gold about 20 years ago because they started having problems with the united states government and now there’s going to be a call for those thousand tons to be released back to Germany

 that’s a lot of tons of gold that’s a lot of money we’re talking about a trillion or more dollars and at present prices and gold is going to eventually go sky high when all the uh things hit the fan but uh Germany is going to want their gold back and now the big question we had a story on the plain truths main page last week is donald trump going to give up the gold or is he going to find some excuse to say it’s our gold you know for war repatriation or something like that

 but there is now a security arrangement going on in Asia where japan and Korea want to unite in an alliance against china and both countries now want to have nuke weapons i actually think japan may have a nuke weapon already but they’re they’re saying they really want it and um and they want also in the indo-pacific they want korea to be armed nuclear as well as a deterrent against both north Korea and mainland china and it’s really um going to get interesting what happens in the next four or five years this is all caused by the way and i know there’s a lot of people and i voted for trump three times there’s a lot of people who don’t do not want to face this fact but the trouble is with this new trump 20 administration by attacking the whole world with tariffs 

and trying to grab Greenland and what he did in Venezuela you have our former allies people who considered the united states a stable country now looking at us as a potential enemy and that is not good and that is not what our um leaders in the 1940s and 50s wanted to happen the last thing that the Eisenhower’s and the macarthur’s of this world and even the george Marshall’s of this world wanted was a re-armed japan and a re-armed germany because they understood all too well exactly what that means for world events and for the future of america and future wars that would result and that is what donald trump really is trying to do and it’s gonna really backfire and um the other thing that’s going on here is china this is an important thing china is trying to do what the united states did in the 1950s you know in the 1950s the reason that so many countries had high tariffs against our goods we wanted them to have high tariffs we wanted to build their economies so they could have a strong government that took care of their people and the people would not go communist and then become enemies of america we were really buying friendship and i know people think that’s maybe not a good idea 

but i do think it is a good idea we were buying friendship with with allowing them to overcharge or collect tariffs for american goods we were thebig manufacturing uh nation of the world and we could afford it and if it kept certain countries from going uh communist it was worth it to us china is playing our game better than us today they’re doing the same things we did in the 19 late 1940s 1950s and early 1960s now china uh just signed a treaty or a pact with south Africa that they’re going to allow south Africa to send in goods made in south Africa to china without a duty this is china just mirroring what America used to do in order to win influence and gain respect and friendship around the world and china has done a good job and throughout africa they’ve invested 17 billion dollars in a roadway system throughout africa and guess who are selling all the cars in Africa Chinese auto companies not American auto companies not even European auto companies or japan auto companies it’s all Chinese auto companies they’re doing the same thing with the eastern block they’re doing the same thing in the middle east they’re doing the same things in south America and you know we can say that china is our enemy but we’re allowing it because we have cut off the world from us and especially with these tariffs countries are looking elsewhere and as you can see 

what’s happening here it’s not good for America and as i said before there was a reason that our leaders they weren’t all stupid in the 1940s and 50s by the way and Douglas MacArthur was a genius as Dwight d Eisenhower really knew his his way around politics even though he was a military man he was the greatest political military man the army probably ever saw and they understood world what caused world war ii and they also knew how to end another or stop another world war ii and it was not allowing certain countries to rearm themselves which is happening and because we have become an enemy that is not good news a quick brief uh story last week that everybody probably who listens to me in America at least if you’re east of the rocky mountains is this

 this snow blizzard uh what do they call it bomb cyclone that hit most of America from texas all the way up to Chicago east to new York city and up into Maine where powerful snowstorm brought chaos to all over the eastern part of the country more than 35 million Americans were under extreme weather warnings about 200 million Americans were actually involved in these storms not just the 35 million that were in critical areas and states including the Carolina’s Virginia where we’re from here uh Georgia have been worst affected especially a lot of places still don’t have power after a week or two of these storms it just shows you how fragile our grid is and how how soon we could as a country have no electricity when we need it and i said this before if there was ever an EMP strike or a nuclear strike Americans would actually be starving to death in about 10 days there would be Americans already in 10 days time not getting food unless they’re going to try to steal it at the with the uh end of a rifle and it’s a very concerning issue that i just don’t see our politicians doing much about and when we come back after this brief time out from the plain truth we’re going to finish up what was the big stories of the week and of course the programming for tomorrow

and we’re back and um the next thing i wanted to talk about was the economy and the economy again has to do with trump 2.0 is not doing well with the economy he can say he can say all day long that he is but again layoffs in January were at the highest level since 2009 you have to go back to the Obama terrible years Obama the destroyer as i like to call them uh to get such bad numbers u.s employers announced 108,435 layoffs for the month up 118 percent from the same period as a year ago and up 205 percent from December of 2025 January was a disaster

now you can blame a lot of the winter storms in January and that’s what they’re going to try to say but it’s it’s more than that there’s a reason that wall street crashed again this whole week it’s been down and down and down gold which i still say is a great thing to make sure you have gold and silver but both gold and silver had a record decline and that’s just showing you how volatile everything is in the world and no one knows where to put their money they know they don’t want to put it in a bank and they wanted to put it in gold for the last uh three or four months especially but last week everybody just basically i think held on to the cash and sold off and mainly the stock market bitcoin is down fifty thousand dollars in 11 months

I always said you know i made some money but i knew to get out of it because it’s it’s really a fraudulent it’s a total fraudulent monetary system that anybody who thinks bitcoin is the future just don’t understand it and it is not the coin currency system that you’re reading about in the bible that’s going to be forced upon the western world by the holy roman empire that’s being reformed but the job openings also fell sharply in December and we are seeing what the effects of tariffs are and also the effects of not getting inflation under control you can’t have a 25 35 inflation over the last four years of joe Biden and continue with a 2.7 to 3.0 per month or yearly i guess it would be inflation rate and say everything is great it is not great we should have been in a de facto deflation the first year under trump by getting rid of these Biden policies but we did not have a a deflation we should have had a one two three four percent a year deflation for several years which would really have helped the poor people of this country but instead the poor people are being squeezed like like the last five years now under biden and now under the first year of trump the poorest people of America and most of the middle class have it very very hard and it’s just very very discouraging the last thing i’m going to talk about was the election because 2026 this year is going to be an election to remember because i am afraid and i’ve said this all along it’s the real reason why i wish Donald trump would change and become trump 1.0 or even better than he was in 1.0 more like Ronald Reagan is 

because the democrats flipped a state senate seat in Texas that trump won by 17 points and they flipped it democrat by 13 points that is a 30 swing in the republicans being wiped out of that seat by democrats and one of the biggest reasons why of course is the hispanics which started coming to trump left them in droves because of the ice policies because we are not getting out the worst of the worst we’re we’re sending out Juan Lopez picking coffee i’m joking about that but picking your food or or roofing houses and doing the jobs and i hate to say this because people you will email me and say oh there’s Americans who want to do the job well 

i’m an employer find them they’re all retired that have a work ethic they don’t work because they’re retired but many retired people are going back to work you know why because they’re going to get paid big money to go back to work because younger people just simply do not want to work today or do the hard work that needs to be done that the foreigners have been doing for the last 35 years that’s the plain truth and we’ll have to keep up more about that and later on but that is what’s going on and you can be an ostrich and hide your head in the sand and say everything’s going great but it is not look at the stock market look at the bond market look at the national debt went up two trillion dollars in one year look at how even silver and gold had a sell-off it’s showing you a volatile situation that will end up burying us

well that’s the wrap-up for the week 

um the uh tomorrow’s show the sabbath show we’re gonna have a garner ted Armstrong now he’s been dead for about 24 three years i guess but he has a great uh show tomorrow morning at 7 11 a.m it’s called from Saul to Paul and it’s a video that you can watch on the plain truth today podcast tomorrow morning at 7 11 a.m and he goes through the story of you know the when the bible first talks and acts about this man we know as Paul he’s called Saul now people think he changed his name he did not change his name paul is the greek for a form of the of the surname Saul

 Saul and Paul are the same name if you were in Hebrew you would call yourself Saul but when you went to greek you would call yourself paul but there is a difference between saul and paul because saul was a was a jew who understood jewish law better than any probably other person alive 

he was a scholar when it came to jewish law but when he converted to christianity he became the convert to the gentiles to the gentile nations and so he adopted the name paul because that’s the name greeks would call him and it’s a very good story by garner ted i do hope everybody listens to it tomorrow he’s a great guy to listen to and watch the guy has talent that i wish i had i mean this guy is just phenomenal on tv he don’t come across like one of these phony evangelist type he comes across really as a newsman a newsman like what we’re trying to do here of giving you the news but he knew god’s god’s word is in the news he’s the first person to coin that i know of that Jesus christ is the greatest newscaster that’s ever existed and i agree with that Jesus christ was a newscaster that was never wrong every other newscaster is wrong and that’s tomorrow morning show and i hope everybody uh does listen to it i think if you haven’t heard him before you’ll be amazed you’ll absolutely be amazed with his talent and his knowledge and 

tomorrow night 7 11 p.m we have a longer story again it’s uh an earnest Hemingway autumn in Venice just a little background on that in the fall of 1948 Hemingway and his fourth wife traveled for the first time to Venice which Hemingway called uh i won’t use that first word a wonderful city he was a year shy of his 50th birthday and hadn’t published a book or a novel in almost 10 years at a duck shoot in the lagoon met and fell in love with Adriana Ivovich a striking Venice venetian girl just finishing school most people believe that she is the inspiration for one of hemingway’s great novels uh across the river and into the trees the the um young girl that fascinates him in that novel called Renata and most people believe that it’s this girl that he actually had a crush on and fell in love with it’s an illuminating story of uh of of Hemingway if you don’t know understand Hemingway Hemingway is the original man’s man 

he he is a man’s man he actually liberated Paris before the allies did the man was in plane crashes he was reported dead in newspapers and many times in his life he lived his life to the fullest he committed suicide with a shotgun as the hero does in the across the river and into the trees story if i could find the uh video on that one that was a great movie it’s out it’s a pretty new one that’s out i really recommend people watching that movie um i think it’s a 2024 movie in fact you can get it on Netflix um we can’t put it up on on this it would be copyright infringements but Hemingway was a writer of writers i i took courses on Hemingway in college i’ve always always amazed with um his style and and just his character of himself he’s more interesting than his novels his life is actually more interesting than his novels in fact his nick Adam’s stories is really his stories
