Hi, Bob Barney here with the Plain Truth today. This is from a remote location to do this second program on Pentecost, which is coming up next Thursday. A week from tomorrow is when Pentecost happens, and we were talking about the New Testament version of Pentecost and what it means and how we compared it to the Old Testament Pentecost. And again, I want to reiterate that Pentecost is the Greek word for 50th. And the Hebrew holiday was really called the Feast of Weeks. And that was kind of a misnomer in the Greek version of the Bible of the Old Testament called it Pentecost, because actually when you understand the holiday, you realize that you have Passover. Then you have the Feast of Unleavened Bread. And after the seven days of unleavened bread on the 22nd of the first month is the first day after unleavened bread, and it’s the day called Firstfruits. And that is the day that you start counting towards Pentecost.

2:21 And you count 50 days. And remember, in God’s calendar, there are only 12 30-day months to a year and five to six no days a year. Just remember that always, and you can understand God’s calendar. And you can look on the plain truth, and you can find, just search calendar, and you can find out all the information you want to know about God’s calendar. I’m not going to get into it here, but the calendar that the Jews follow today and that the Seventh-day Churches follow today is a pagan Babylonian calendar based on an evening moon cycle instead of a daily solar cycle. And it is not biblical. It did not ever happen in the Bible until after the Babylonian captivity. It explains why Jesus followed a different Passover, and you can prove that he did, than did the Jews of the time, because they were already following, in Jesus’s time, a pagan Babylonian calendar. I mean, are you aware that many of the months that the Jews call their months are from pagan sources, like one of the months is called Tammuz? And in Ezekiel, you see God very angry at Israel for celebrating the holiday of Tammuz. Tammuz is a false Christ. He’s an antichrist. In fact, the modern day that we celebrate as Easter, well, we don’t celebrate Easter, but the pagans do, is really from Astarte, the pagan goddess whose son was Tammuz.

3:59 When you read the seventh and eighth and ninth chapters of Ezekiel, you will see how God is absolutely ticked off at Israel for following an ancient Easter sunrise worship service, and we are not to do so today. In fact, it is something that we have talked about over and over again on the Plain Truth, that the modern Christian holidays that is celebrated today are all based on pagan sources, except for Pentecost, which just follows the wrong pagan calendar when they have it fall. But Easter, Christmas, Halloween, Saint’s Day, or Hallowell’s Day are all pagan holidays and are not to be celebrated. You’re supposed to follow Passover, the Feast of Unleavened Bread, First Fruits, Pentecost, Feast of Trumpets, Day of Atonement, and the Feast of Tabernacles. That is the days that you are supposed to follow. And if you do follow those days, you can then understand the plan of God.

5:36 God, in these holidays, reveals to us the entire plan that God has to save us from our own sins. And if you do not follow these holidays, you simply do not understand. And the same thing when you follow a Sunday worship day versus a Sabbath day, which God commanded from the first chapter of Genesis to follow, that you just simply fail to obey God’s Word. You have to believe in Jesus Christ as your Lord and as your Savior. He is the God of the Old Testament that created everything. He’s David’s God. He’s Abraham’s God. He’s the God that caused the flood for Noah and talked to Noah. But at the same time, not only must you believe in Jesus, that he is your Savior, and he is God alongside God the Father, you must obey Jesus. You must do the things he says to do, or it’s worthless. That is why you read in the Gospels when Jesus says, in vain do you worship me, you who practice lawlessness, meaning you don’t follow the law that God created for you to follow. It’s that simple. The Ten Commandments are the law, and you are to follow the law. And the fourth one is observing the Sabbath day and keep it holy. So the idea that Jesus Christ is your Lord and Savior is good to know. But to be saved, you also have to obey him. You have to love him and obey him. In that same verse that I just quoted from the Gospels, Jesus said, in that day you will say to me, did we not cast out demons in your name? Did we not perform many miracles in your name? That’s pretty impressive, is it not? But what does Jesus say back? Go away from me. I never knew you, you who practice lawlessness.

You get the point here?

6:21 In order to be received by God as a Christian, you have to obey the law, not the Mosaic law. And this is what I’m going to get into again, what Paul means, what the New Testament is saying, what kind of special age we’re in today. Yesterday, I touched on it, let’s put it that way, on the New Testament version of the 40 years of wandering in the wilderness. Back in the day after the Israelites left Egypt and crossed through the Red Sea, as I mentioned yesterday, that is a form of baptism. If you follow the entire 40-year travels of Israel leaving Egypt, you see the entire plan of the New Testament Christian salvation.

You really do. And this is what I mean. The Passover is Christ dying on the cross for you. Your sins are forgiven. The going through the Red Sea symbolizes when you understand that you have been saved by Jesus’s blood, you get baptized. And when they went through that Red Sea, it symbolizes that baptism. And where do they come to in 50 days later, after the Feast of Unleavened Bread? They come to Mount Sinai. And for 40 days and 40 nights, Moses sat upon that mountain and fasted without bread or food and water, a miracle. And God came to him and wrote the Ten Commandments with his own finger. And the God that came to Moses was the one we know as Jesus Christ, who is a co-equal God in the Godhead, comprised of He, Jesus Christ, and God the Father. And they are comprised of the Holy Spirit. Do not think for one minute that the Holy Spirit is a part of a trinity and is a third God, because that is simply not biblical.

8:02 Again, it’s Satan trying to make himself out to be a third part of God, and it’s just total paganism. God is two. God created man in their own image, after their own kind. You find that in Genesis. And God didn’t create three. God didn’t create male, female, and it, like we have today in modern society, with this trans-bias that’s going on. God created a male, and he created a female. Two, just like in heaven today, there are two beings that are part of the Godhead, God the Father and Jesus Christ, our Savior, and the Lord of the Old Testament. They’re the two. And male and female symbolize the Godhead in physical form. And as a male and female are ordered to be fruitful and multiply and produce more children after the God kind, when we are born again, which simply means raised from the dead at the day Christ returns to earth to start the millennium, then we are turned into immortal spirit. We become literally, spiritually, and physically the children of God. God becomes our real spiritual father. We become gods. We are not going to become like angelic beings like you see in Highway to Heaven. We don’t come back as angels after we die and are resurrected from the dead. We come back as God. I don’t know if there’s anything more that is so comforting to know what our destiny is.

Our destiny is to be God.

12:21 How in the world can any of these churches miss this point? And I don’t understand it. It’s so plain in your Bible. Jesus said, did I not call you gods? He didn’t call us angels. He called us gods. Mankind was made a little lower than the gods. That’s what it says. But we will become God when we are resurrected from the dead and reign as God with Jesus Christ during the thousand-year millennium, all the way until God the Father returns on the last day of the millennium, and heaven and earth are joined together in one, and God the Father and Jesus Christ reign together from Jerusalem forever. That is the destiny. And Pentecost is the time when the church received the Holy Spirit. That is impregnating us. Now we are what you would call a zygote in the mother’s womb. The church symbolizes the mother’s womb. That’s why when you see the symbolism of the church, it’s always a lady. It’s always a woman. And we are inside the womb right now of the church. And in most churches, in my opinion today, I do not really believe we’re in a church age. That’s not a biblical thing I can prove, but I don’t really believe that we are in a church age. And I’ve said this to people privately, but I believe that. I think most of the churches today are family churches. Myself and many that I know have their own congregations at their own home with only their family and a few friends who start to believe and want to be a part of it. That’s the churches of today. Just think a minute. Jesus said the end times would be a time like in the times of Noah.

14:23 Well, Noah was what? A family church. Noah and his eight, the seven people with him, eight people were saved through the flood. That was the only church there was. Everyone was a member of his family. That’s a family church. Go to Abraham, same kind of deal. Abraham was a member of his own church. His church was his family, his extended family, those who worked for him as employees, you could call them, they call them slaves in the Bible or servants, but they’re employees. Abraham took good care of them, but that was the church. It wasn’t going from congregation to congregation like we see in the New Testament during what I call the church age, which was the time of the apostles. And I am convinced in myself, and I can’t prove this, and I do not try to put things through that is not provable, except as my opinion. Paul says, this is not necessarily from God, but it’s my opinion, many of the letters. Well, I’m saying the same thing here, but it’s my opinion that most of the time, people who go to these seventh day churches get so much indoctrination into BS that they actually fall away from the truth of God. And they would be better to stay home with their wife and their children or their extended family and study the Bible for themselves and don’t get your mind polluted.

15:32 I remember a long time ago when I was going to a sales school, and it was very little I ever learned from most sales schools, but this I’ve never forgotten .A person was saying to me and to the class, by the way, that you cannot let people infiltrate your mind with garbage because you cannot get that out of your mind and it will completely mess up your sales ability and mess up your life. And he explained it this way, and I’ve never forgotten it. He said, you wouldn’t let somebody come into your house.

16:57 You wouldn’t let your next door neighbor come into your house with a bag of his trash and throw it on your living room floor because he had no better place to put it and then walk back out the door. You wouldn’t allow it, but you allow everybody you know to come in and put that trash in your brain that has more damage to you than anybody throwing trash in your living room. And I thought about that. This is 41 years ago. Yeah, about 41 years ago or so that I heard that and I’ve never forgotten it. And it’s so true.

The stuff we put in our brains from other people or from our churches or from our leaders is much more harmful than if somebody threw all their trash into your living room. And so I think that the family church where you study the Bible and you follow the word of the Bible, and I think you could listen to certain programs and glean from certain programs the truth of God. I do this. We do this. We listen to Garner Ted Armstrong. So he’s been dead for 25 years almost. And we still listen to some of his broadcasts. He has a lot of wrong things when it comes to the calendar, when the day begins, a lot of things. But we already know that because we’ve discovered the Bible for ourselves. We allowed the Bible to interpret itself. And that is what I’m saying we have to continue to do. I’ll be right back after this message.

17:34 Hi, Bob Barney here for theplaintruth.com and theplaintruthtoday.com, both places you go to, to find out what’s happening today, why it’s happening, and if God has anything to do with it. Some news God does, some news God doesn’t. That’s theplaintruth.com every day. Go to it for the message board, for Your Health Today, for the main page of The Plain Truth and these podcasts. Thank you very much. Well, we’re back to Pentecost and the New Testament and to come because it’s a holiday that’s also going to be significant in the world to come. It’s going to be significant in the millennium and beyond because it becomes a Memorial Day, just like we have a Memorial Day for our soldiers about the same time as Pentecost every year.

But going back to what I was saying on the first part of this broadcast, that we are under a special covenant right now awaiting the millennium. We are no different than the ancient Israelites who were wandering around in the desert for 40 years, like Christians are wandering around now in a kind of desert for many years, waiting to cross over into the Promised Land and the Promised Land is the in the time of Moses, the Promised Land was Canaan, the Palestine, the area where today the modern state of Israel is.

18:45 But that was the Promised Land to the people because it represented, it was a symbol that represented the Promised Land that was going to happen at the beginning of the millennium. You understand that every single thing that happens in the Old Testament is foreshadowing an incident to occur at a later time. For example, the very first Passover, with all of its symbolism, really had to do with Christ’s Passover some 1800 years later when Christ became the Passover Lamb. The original Passover Lamb took away the momentary sins of the people, of the Israelites, but they could not atone for more than a year at a time. As a matter of fact, they had to have a Passover and they also had to have daily sacrifices and they had to have yearly day of atonement. All of these sacrifices every day because the blood of lambs, goats and cows cannot do away with eternal sin of mankind. But the blood of our Creator, the God who created us, the God who said, let there be light, is the same God who on a cross, or a stake as the proper translation, died for our sins and because he made the whole world, as the book of John says in the very first chapter, everything that was made in the universe was made by Jesus Christ, by him and for him. That’s what your Bible says. And so that the God who created everything, if he died as a human being, sinless, then his death could atone for the sins of anybody forever. No need to do goats and sheep and cattle anymore. Now people get a misunderstanding, and I did for many years as well. It was hard to configure why was the Old Testament the way it was with all these sacrifices and why is the New Testament seemed to dismiss all of that. Yet when you read the prophecies of Ezekiel, of Isaiah, and even in the New Testament, you understand that there is going to be sacrifices. There are going to be Levitical priests. There is going to be another tabernacle or temple and the temple is going to last through the millennium. You can read that in Ezekiel. And it was hard to figure out even for anybody. And I haven’t really heard too many people ever figure it out, to be honest.

19:33 And it came to me in all my studies that we were like the ancient Israelites who wandered around for 40 years, us for about 2,000 now, and were exempt from Mosaic law. And therefore, all we had to do was follow the Ten Commandments. Now the difference between a Christian today and the people of Israel before, yes, they were part of a church, but they did not have, for the most part, the Holy Spirit. Now we know people like David had the Holy Spirit because all you got to do is read the 51st Psalm when David, after he had committed adultery with Bathsheba and killed her husband or had him killed in battle, made this prayer and he prayed in the Psalm 51, please do not take your Holy Spirit away from me. So we know David had the Holy Spirit and I can guarantee you most of these prophets in the Old Testament and Moses himself definitely had the Holy Spirit. But the regular Israeli people, the people who left Egypt and the people born in the wandering of the desert, these people had no Holy Spirit whatsoever. And this is why, and it explains why they constantly continued to sin. It’s because they had no inner law within them. The law of God written on Mount Sinai on the very first Pentecost, that law was on stone. They could read it or they could read it on their forearm or the little tablets they put on their forehead. They could read the Torah and understand as they read. But the minute they stopped reading because they had no Holy Spirit, it went right out of them. This explains why when you read through Exodus and Deuteronomy and Leviticus, the people constantly sinned, got punished, sinned again, got punished, sinned again, got punished. And you read that, and you say, why didn’t they ever learn? I mean, I wouldn’t be that stupid. I would have learned.

20:59 Well, look at the world today, how we go from one president side to the other. We go from Jimmy Carter, ultra-leftist. We go to Ronald Reagan, ultra-rightist. And then we go back to Bill Clinton, somewhere in the middle, they claim, but I think he was a leftist. Then you go to George Bush on the right side. Then you go to Barack Obama, who was a communist. And then you go to Trump, who was, well, we don’t know what he was because the first time he was a capitalist. This time around, he’s acting like a Bill Clinton Democrat. But in between, we had Joe Biden, who was leftist again. We go back and forth, back and forth when you don’t have the Holy Spirit. But the people with the Holy Spirit do not go back and forth because the law of God is no longer on stone. It is within them. It is in their minds. It’s in their heart. It’s in their very being.

22:02 You know, if you are a true Christian and you really have the Holy Spirit, you know when you’re doing wrong. You may not be able to help yourself. All of us sin. You know, the apostle John wrote that we all sin. And if we say we do not sin, we are liars because we make Jesus into a liar who says we all sin. But he does go on to say if we confess our sin, he is good to forgive those sins for us. And that is the key. The key is internally, we know when we do wrong. That is what guilt is for. I remember, I think it was Gardner Ted wrote a book, How to Get Rid of Guilt. Well, I hope I never can get rid of the guilt because guilt is what keeps me in line. Guilt is when I do something that I know internally after I did it, I did wrong. That guilt plays on me and plays on me until I don’t really want to repeat what I did wrong. But we all do wrong. I am not some righteous, self-righteous character like some of these holy rollers try to be and like I sinned one time back in 1933 type thing. We sin all the time. Just in our thought process, we sin.

We are a carnal human being.

We are not born again.

We are not gods yet.

23:03 We’re gods in the womb, but we are mortal human beings that are frail and our carnal nature many times gets the best of us. And that’s every one of us. That’s you, that’s me, and that’s that priest that you think is so great or that minister you think is so great or that politician you stupidly think is so great. Everybody is a sinner except for Jesus Christ. And that is why his sacrifice on that stake in 30 AD, April 3rd, 30 AD, met so much to God the Father who gave his only begotten Son that who would ever believe in him would get the Holy Spirit and would have immortal life when they are resurrected from the dead. It’s a fantastic story. This is why we are supposed to follow God’s holidays so we can look at them in the Old Testament and then see them again in the New Testament or see them in the prophecies of the future to come. And then we understand what is going on. Pentecost absolutely is a holiday that once you understand it, and I have to admit it took me years to understand it, that we at Pentecost, we now think about how having the law within us makes us a new creature. It makes us unlike any of the Israelites before us who didn’t have that Holy Spirit except for a few. And they were the new creature. Abraham was a person unlike anyone else. So was Noah. So was Moses. So was Elijah and Ezra and King David and Hezekiah. These people had the Holy Spirit, but most people did not, and they were just like beasts.

24:34 You have a dog, and dogs know right from wrong a little bit, but they keep going back to do what they’re going to do. A dog is going to do what a dog’s going to do. A rattlesnake’s going to do what a rattlesnake’s going to do. A bull in a lot is going to do what a bull’s going to do. And you can beat them down with a stick or electric prodding stick and make them do what you want them to do, but the minute you’re gone, they’re going back to do what they did. And that is what the ancient Israelites were like. That is what all human beings are like until they give the Holy Spirit. And the only ones who’s going to get the Holy Spirit are those who accept Jesus Christ as their Savior, love Him, believe in Him, believe that He is God, and obey Him. And obeying Him is as important as believing in Him. In the book of James, he makes fun of those who think they can just believe on Christ and go on living the way they want to live because they’re now saved. He says, you can read it for yourself, faith without works is dead. If you just say you simply believe and you do not work to obey the law and to do what God tells you to do, you’re worshiping God in vain. And Jesus says the same exact thing in Matthew. You can look it up. In vain, do they worship me?

25:45 Go to a search engine and say, and just type in, in vain, do they worship me? And read that entire chapter and see what I’m talking about. And you will see that you can worship God in vain. You can believe in Jesus Christ. You can do miracles in His name. You can love the Lord, but He may say to you, away from me, ye who practice lawlessness. You got to get away from your Sunday worship. You really do once you know about it. When you don’t know about it, it’s really unfortunate you’re listening to this program if you are right now, because before, if you didn’t know about it, you are absolutely blessed for believing in Christ and you’re part of it. But once you know about it and once you prove it and you refuse to accept it, and you want to stick with traditions of a church that is based on pagan, evil, satanic history, then you are walking a thin line with God the Father and Jesus Christ. Just think about that.

27:33 So once you hear this voice, once you hear what I had to say, and you do go and you read and you see it for yourself, these quotes that I’m giving you, how can someone say just believing in Christ is enough? When Jesus says itself, it’s not enough. When He Himself says, in vain, do they worship me? You can worship Jesus Christ in vain. And I’m hoping, or I’m hoping, not helping, I’m hoping that people listen to what I have to say and start searching for themselves, because it’s the most important research you will ever do. It’s more important than your job. It’s more important than your health. It’s more important than that PSA test you’re going to get to see if you got prostate cancer, or that breast test you’re going to see, mammogram to see if you got breast cancer. It’s more important than anything you will ever do in your life.

Well, I hope everyone has a beautiful Pentecost next week. We’ll probably replay these two broadcasts on Pentecost day next week. I don’t plan on doing anything live. And I do appreciate those who listen. I do appreciate the people who write me. Very few people do, but I do get letters from time to time, and I try to answer anyone that I get personally, by myself, nobody in between, and you will hear from me.

29:11 Sometimes you might like what I have to say. Sometimes you may not, but I will always tell you the plain truth. This is Bob Barney for The Plain Truth, saying thank you for listening. Goodbye, friends.
