Is the Devil Real? (Transcript)

Do you believe in the devil? Hi, this is Bob Barney, and I want to talk today about the devil, God. Just exactly, are they real? I think today, many people don’t really believe that there is a devil, and most people, maybe today, don’t even believe there’s a God. Or if there is a God, it’s not the God of the Bible.

Well, I’m here to tell you that if you really study the Bible and you don’t listen to what holy rollers have to tell you about it, and you look for yourself, you will see that the Bible actually proves itself in its predictions. Many of the predictions that the Bible made came true. Are you aware that when Alexander the Great conquered Jerusalem and went to the temple to destroy it, that the high priest gave him a scroll of Daniel, the prophet, which three or four hundred years before Alexander’s time predicted the rise of Alexander to the great, and that he would conquer the known world, and he would be the third greatest kingdom of the world? It so took Alexander by surprise that he didn’t touch the temple at all.

That’s fulfilled prophecy, not taught in too many history books. But if you go through a lot of the prophecies that was made by the prophets that have not yet happened, and many of them are fulfilled, the prophets accurately predicted what would happen to the ancient Israelites, I’m sorry, the ten tribes of Joseph and his followers, which owns the name of Israel. It predicted the end of Judah. It predicted the lawlessness of the people. It predicted the coming of Christ to the exact year it predicted the coming of Christ. If one studies the Bible, and God says, by the way, in Proverbs, if you search diligently for me, you will find me.God doesn’t say you just go ask God to come into your life and everything happens for you. God wants you to work. He wants you to search diligently for him.

He says, if you search diligently for me, you will find me. Well, how you search for God diligently is maybe listening to shows like this might get you started and motivated, but the real way to do it is to get an easy-to-read Bible and realize there will be mistakes in any easy-to-read Bible because of translation errors. But you can do that with studying several translations and especially always going back to the King James for actual meanings of words because it is the most accurate, though not 100% accurate. But if you read an easy-to-understand read Bible, the New Living Testament or the Bible that the Plain Truth has out on Amazon, where Christ’s words are read, including in the Old Testament, because every time any person heard Christ speak in the Old Testament, they were listening to Christ, the Word of God. They were not listening to the Father. It’s one of the biblical misconceptions.

One of the shows that I do plan on delving into in this next coming few weeks is biblical misconceptions. I can spend probably five shows on notions that you believe are true, that are found in the Bible that are not, or theories about things or doctrines of the Bible that just simply does not exist. And to give you one real quick one to maybe wet your whistle here is there is nowhere in the Bible that says when you die you go to heaven. A person long before me that I used to listen to, and he’s been dead now over 20 years, his name was Garner Ted Armstrong, in his younger days used to offer on the radio $10,000 for anyone who could show him anywhere in a Bible where it says you go to heaven when you die. It’s not there. Don’t even bother looking. Don’t bother trying to get the money from him because it’s not there. But you know what the Bible says that happens to you when you die? The same thing science says. You die and you go into the grave and you sit unconscious in a grave and rot.

That’s what the Bible says. That’s why the Bible in the New Testament especially preaches a resurrection of the dead. If you went to heaven when you died, why do you need a resurrection of the dead body? But clearly you cannot read 1 Corinthians 15.Do that for yourself right now. When I’m done here, go to 1 Corinthians, the first book of Corinthians, chapter 15. It’s called the resurrection chapter, and you read that and you wonder how that fits into what you think about going to heaven or hell when you die, when it tells you exactly when you are raised back to life, if you are a Christian, at his coming. You’re in the grave until Christ returns. That’s what it says. That’s not what I say. That’s what the Bible says. Check it out. See if I’m not right. But that’s one of the biblical misconceptions I’m going to get into in another show. But what I wanted to get back to here was this idea that people do not believe the Word of God anymore. There was a time when most Americans did believe in the God of the Bible, and they did believe in a devil.

But education doing its job of the devil that it did, teaching evolution which is nonsense, teaching global warming which is evolution nonsense on steroids, all of their purpose is to do is to teach young people that God does not exist, that nature exists on its own, and people want to believe that they came from lovesick amoebas or orangutans or their grandfather. They have a picture of their grandfather on a wall, and it’s some kind of a monkey. Well, you’re not related to monkeys. Evolution can be disproved very easily. The whole notion that life came from non-life is what science disproved in the Middle Ages when the not-so-intellectuals saw maggots come out of flour and thought that flour could turn into a maggot. They didn’t realize that a fly had landed there and laid some eggs, and that’s what formed the maggot. But they thought that this inanimate flour could actually make a maggot. That’s what evolution is telling you. Evolution is telling you there was some amino acids floating in the sea and some bubbling gases, and a spark of electricity from a lightning storm started a life form, life from nothing.

Life can only come from pre-existing life. You need a life giver. Because the schools have done their job in telling us that if God existed, some kind of an Eastern mythical kind of God who just lets us do what we want to do, and the devil really is not that bad of a guy if he does exist, but he probably doesn’t.Well, there is a devil. You know how you can prove there’s a devil? What does Antifa, BLM, and Islamic Jihad have in common? Why would all three of those groups that have different interests all believe the same things? Maybe it’s because their master is Satan the devil, and all they are is useful idiots for Satan the devil. Joseph Stalin rightfully called liberals useful idiots back in his day.They were people that helped him take control of a country. The communists used useful idiots to take control, and the minute they do, they assassinate them. They kill them all off because they know they’re not worthy to live.

Well, Stalin himself was a useful idiot. He just didn’t know it. Stalin was a useful idiot for the devil.So was Mao Zedong, and so was all the despots of the world. They marched the order of the God of this world. And again, I want to point out that if you read in your Bible, you will read who the God of this world is according to the Bible. It’s the devil. It’s not God the Father or Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is coming back to be the God of this world, but he is not today. And most people don’t want God here. Most people don’t want to listen to God, follow his ways, or do anything he wants you to do. So the devil is the good guy. He lets you do whatever you want to do because he knows the following his way of lawlessness. It’s death, and all the devil really wants from his useful idiots is them to kill themselves. So therefore, you have blacks in the United States marching against police because a black person gets killed by a police officer when a thousand times more a year are killed by their own race, and they don’t have a problem with it.

They don’t have a problem with it because, again, their marching orders, even though they don’t understand it, is coming from the devil. And you may ask yourself, how can the devil control these people? Well, right now you’re riding in your car, or you’re probably home in your computer, somewhere listening to this broadcast, hopefully you are. There is probably a hundred radio stations and television stations beaming through your brain. You don’t hear one of them. Now, if you get a radio or television, and you turn to a certain channel, all of a sudden you hear something that was there in plain, in plain, plainly I can say, that you could not hear with your ears until you had a radio or television tuned to a frequency that allowed you to listen to what was there. Well, the devil, and God, do broadcast in their own frequencies. You’re driving down the road and you get a certain thought, good or bad, that thought could be coming from the devil, it could be coming from God. God gets his messages to you. You don’t know he does, but he does.

You’re hearing one right now. And the devil gets his messages to you, and most people don’t know or care. But the devil does get his messages out, God gets his message out as well, and God has left it up to for ourselves to choose the right way. Now, he tells us what is the right way, which is obeying the law. But we want to be a lawless people. You know, we want our neighbors to follow the law, but we ourselves, we want to believe in a Christ that did away with the law on the cross. Is that what your church teaches? You may not know that, but your church teaches that Christ abolished the law. That’s what it teaches. And we wonder why we live in a lawless society, because our ministers preach of lawlessness. God is not someone of lawlessness. God says he will put his laws, the Ten Commandments in stone, within our hearts and within our minds. He’s actually going to install the law in us in the millennium, where it will be embedded in our very character, if we’re human, and if we’re spirit, of course, it will be in our spiritual character.

God is the law. There is no freedom without the law. There is no justice without the law. And yet, our ministers, and you may not be aware of this, but they teach the law is abolished. They want you to put the Ten Commandments in your schools and in your congress, but they don’t put them in their own churches, or they don’t want to follow them. You know, the fourth one says, observe the Sabbath day, and any scholar knows that’s Saturday. So, they don’t want to follow that commandment at all, do they? Because they’re following a false Christianity and following a Sunday day of worship, when God created the Sabbath day for us, for all of mankind. Before there was a Jew, before there was an Israelite, before there was an Abraham, before there was a Noah, there was a Sabbath day created for mankind. It is not a Jewish, or an Israeli, or a special holiday. It’s a holiday for mankind that was created with the creation of man, for man. That’s the fourth commandment. So, if you say your church doesn’t practice lawlessness, then just ask them why they don’t follow the fourth commandment, and then you will hear your minister tell you, because Jesus abolished it.

He abolished the law on the cross. You want to live in a life where there is no law? Well, you’re seeing it right now under Joe Biden’s presidency. You’re seeing what lawlessness does. Lawlessness kills thousands of innocents in Israel in the last few weeks, kills thousands of people in Chicago, New York, LA, every year. That’s what lawlessness brings. Why do you want to believe in a God that practices lawlessness? Well, I can tell you what God you believe in if you practice lawlessness. That God is Satan the devil. He’s the author of lawlessness. He’s the first person to rebel against God, and he wants all of us to rebel against God. So, he’s the good guy. He’s the one that lets us have sex with our neighbor and not feel guilty. He’s the one that allows us to follow, rob other people of their money and call it income taxes. He’s the person who allows communist thought and socialist thought. He’s the one that allows us to do what we want to do if it feels good. What harm can it do? Well, that’s the kind of people we want to follow.

That’s the God we love. We do not really like the God of the Bible, and that’s why we have done away with him in our minds. But friends, that God is real. The God of the Bible is real, and the God of the Bible is coming back to this earth, and he’s not coming back to bring a democracy with him. You’re not going to vote for him. He’s going to rule from a throne, a kingdom based on his laws and his ways, and you’re going to like it or you’re going to leave it. And you’re leaving it as eternal death. Going back to one of the biblical misconceptions is when you die, everyone goes to a hole in the ground. You look it up and you will see that hell comes from, in the Old Testament, the word Sheol in Hebrew, and it just means a grave. When you die, you go into a grave, and you await a resurrection. People that are good and Christian and followed the law and believed in God and followed his ways, they’re resurrected to eternal life. They’re God’s children. They become God. And those of us, not us hopefully, you or me, but those who want to follow lawlessness and they die, they’re resurrected back to life too. And then they’re judged, and it says in Revelation how they’re judged. They’re judged by what they did, by their works, by their evilness or their goodness. And if their name is not found written in the book of life, then they don’t go to some hellfire for eternal suffering, as the churches love to teach, to make you fearful. No, the Bible says what happens to you.

You don’t want to follow God’s ways, and your name is not in the book of life. Your body, your being is thrown into the lake of fire, and you burn up, and you cease to be. You know, you go to all these football games, and you see John 3.16, and everybody talks about John 3.16, but nobody listens to the words. Just listen to the words. For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son. So just to decipher that first part, God the Father so loved the world that he gave who became his son, his partner, who was Jesus Christ as his son, but before was called the Logos, or the Word of God, his partner, that whoever believes in him shall not perish, but have eternal life. Now, what does perish mean? It means ceases to be, rots, goes away, disintegrates. When your apples perish in the refrigerator, they don’t go to hell somewhere and suffer. They’re gone. And notice the biggest word in that entire phrase of John 3.16 is but. There’s an exact opposite of perishing, but have eternal life. We do not have eternal life right now. It’s not whether we’re going to spend it in heaven or hell. We’re going to spend it in a grave, and then we’re going to find out are we going to spend it in eternity with God, or we are going to be destroyed permanently. And he erased from the history and the memory of God in his book.

I hope sincerely everyone wants to be found in the book of life if they’re not going to be real Christians this time around. But I hope you all open up the Bible and start reading it, and maybe prove that God exists and he’s calling. And if you seek diligently for him, he promises you will find him. You got to do the effort. It’s not free. Yes, grace is free, your forgiveness is free, God’s love for you is free, but he wants you to work for it. Don’t be fooled by those people who think you do nothing to be saved but believe on the name of Jesus Christ. Well, you want to know what? The devil believes on the name of Jesus Christ, and he’s still the devil. He’s met him. Jesus is his God. He trembles at the name of Jesus. Yet, believing on Jesus for the devil don’t help the devil at all, and it doesn’t help you either. Follow God, obey God, read the words of the Bible, prove it for yourself. God is real, and God can be found. Now to help you, I hope you go to theplaintruth.com every day. He’s this, or he’s that, and when you look it up for the Bible, it’s not there. I learned long ago when I first started rejecting what I believe today, because I did not want to believe, and maybe that’ll be a story I give sometime about how I came to believe what I believe, because I surely, for four years, did not want to come to what I believe today. I rejected it, I was afraid of it, and I knew it would change me that I did not want to change. And it did that. It will do it to you too, because once you find the real God, you can never turn back.
