Hi, Bob Barney with the Plain Truth today brought to you by theplaintruth.com and today’s show is gonna be a little maybe humorous before Thanksgiving and it’s Maybe a good best of Bob show one day But it’s what could government really do to help the average person out there? you know the person that pays all the taxes and does all the work and It’s forgotten by both parties in my opinion and some of the things maybe you’ll agree Maybe you won’t agree, but here are some of the things that I had in mind That I’ll go through a little at a time What I think the government could do to make life easier for Americans that I don’t think would be that hard with a little bit of effort, but it seems like Politicians care more about what lobbyists think than what is best for you So number one on my list and I think anybody who has a cell phone That needs a cell phone for business or for personal pleasure, whatever you want to do I think the government could do something and I’m I have some ideas what they could do But I think government could do something to stop spam calls. I don’t know how many people Suffer from what I suffer, but everybody I talked to seems to suffer from the same problem is about 40 or 50 Spam calls and now text messages happen every single day And if you are someone who needs your phone in order to conduct business And you have to answer phone calls from people you do not know I know one thing you can do if you are Like a normal person and you don’t need to answer phones as you can set a phone up That will only accept calls from people in your mailbox, you know your caller list But if you’re a business person and you need to answer phones from customers who may never have called you before You have to answer every phone call that comes in now Verizon for example, which I use now they they sometimes Announce when the phone is ringing potential spam call. So, you know right then to send it, you know to the Graveyard of your phone, but for the most part government could get involved there and I think most people would be happy What could we do? I don’t know the answer to this But one of the answers maybe why don’t they charge any? business making calls that Have to pay 10 cents per call So if they’re sitting there and calling a thousand people a day robotically just to be spamming you Make them pay for those phone calls and see how how quickly That would end and I know there’s other ways you could do it Have a fine if you are on a do-not-call list for someone have it where if they continue to call you with other telephone numbers, but it’s the same people that The messages are blocked and then they’re the the company sending you those spam calls are fined Maybe like $10,000 you think that would put an end to it? I think most Americans would like to see simple things done by our government not the Deciding what’s gonna happen in Ukraine And I’m not saying that’s not important or the Middle East and I’m not saying that’s not important or taxes or big Spending bills like the big beautiful bill that this probably is not going to turn out to be very big It’s going to turn out to be big but it’s probably not going to be very beautiful when it’s all said and done But little things that just irk the average American citizen.I think government needs to act for those citizens and Spam calls spam text messages and also the spam to your inbox in your computer and again If you’re a business person and you have a company email and you get and I literally get a hundred to two hundred spam emails a day or worse yet the same company that you bought one thing from What the minute you bought something from them they? Send you five six seven sales a day and even if you unsubscribe for some reason they continue to send you things you really don’t want to have and again, I think once you Block someone or tell them not to send any more Emails to you. I think there should be a massive fine for those who continue to do so I’m someone who runs a company and we send out broad emails to people on our email list We do not Overdo this we send maybe one a week and only when there’s a sale or something important But we do not over over stress it, but I bought one pint of paint I think it was actually a half pint of paint to get a color from another company and That was like four years ago, and I’ve never bought another thing since and I get literally seven to ten Sale emails a day from this company for the last four years So I start my morning, and I have four different emails that I basically use not counting the plain truth calm ones I spend each morning about 25 to 30 minutes a morning going through those four business to different emails and deleting all of the repetitive sale emails that I get from certain companies, and I go through and I just AOL I use mainly is pretty easy to just go down and click them all off and and you know Delete them, but it’s just a pain and it robs me of a lot of time, and I actually have some of my Employees my office assistants go through some of my emails for me And they have to be paid to sit there and just weed out nuisance emails I Never thought I’d ever say this But I think maybe there should be a charge for businesses to send emails including my business And I think that again would really reduce the amount of emails people get it and it is a Time robber especially if you’re are in business or you’re a business person and your time is money and when you’re spending time doing things other than running your business and and answering important emails and One of the things that seems to happen by the way is You have a spam folder and and your carrier would be at Gmail or AOL or whatever you have Why Yahoo or something like that? They try to decide what is spam and what is not and then you have to go through all of your spam Because you’ll find out that many people even in your email list that you want to get emails from they go to the spam So not only do you have to go through your emails? You got to go through a hundred two hundred spam emails every day and every mailbox that you have in order to find The ones that shouldn’t been listed as spam. These are the things that just rob Americans of their Productivity and it costs money for a business to go through things like this and it cost countless amount of time for just every Everybody out there and it’s it’s a problem that I think needs to be addressed If politicians cared more about what you are being subject to every day from emails to text messages and spam phone calls I think more Americans would be happy with their government and not Dishappy with their or unhappy with their their government another thing you go you sit down and you want to watch TV there used to be a Law an FCC law that allowed so many minutes per half hour of any TV show of commercials That’s out the window.I’ll watch a show let let’s say I’m gonna be on a Western Channel and I’m watching an old-time Western show and there sometimes are seven or eight minutes of commercials some of these commercials are four minutes long and they’re over and over again and when you See a show that used to take a half hour in the old days and you’re watching an old rerun and now that’s taken 40 minutes of time and sometimes our shows are now turned into hour and a half shows an hour and 20 minute movies are Now to our movies because of these commercials There used to be a time believe it or not when I was a younger person that this was not allowed There was only so many minutes per hour per half hour show or per hour show that commercials could be done Another thing that was never allowed and my favorite president I believe is the first to allow it and it was a big mistake is big pharma commercials It seems like you cannot watch any news show on TV and not be inundated with every single prescription medication that there are Hawking to the public that the public has no business Understanding or seeing these commercials because they can’t go to a pharmacy and order something They still have to go to their doctor and it’s pretty bad when you have to go to your doctor say I want this That I saw on TV and the doctor who’s trying to keep your business is probably going to give you a prescription for something They probably don’t think you need or you should have but because of these commercials the commercials The big farmers are doing on TV shows are basically Prescribing things that you want to take and maybe you shouldn’t be and your doctor knows you shouldn’t be but because of their power They’re all over your your news. I watch all the different news channels to try to get Information for this program and I watch every single I don’t watch them I try to go through them. I try to tape everything so I can go through them With my DVR, but the amount of Big pharma commercials during news broadcasts and you should ask yourself.Why are they really on these news broadcasts? You know, you watch a Western show old reruns and you don’t see big pharma commercials. Why are they on the new shows? Is it because they’re buying? their way with the news stations be it CBS ABC NBC Fox News Nation CNBC you all of them CNN MSNBC they’re all full of pharma commercials Why do you think they’re doing it because they think you’re gonna really go ask for those products or are they trying to buy? Influence on these news stations, so there is no bad publicity about that medication What you know Robert Kennedy jr. I think the bright spot of the Donald Trump administration is Trying to get people not to do you see all of these calls for vaccine commercials and this commercial and that commercial of Every single thing that can go wrong You got the hangnails and there’s some kind of medicine for hangnails and then when you listen to the Complications have taken something for something. You don’t need a medicine for in the beginning.You’ll find out and the complications are increased cholesterol at least heart palpitations and death You say and death I have a hangnail and I’m gonna take something to stop a hangnail and the result could be my death and these are the commercials that Americans are faced with every time they want to watch a news show and it’s something again I think most Americans would be in favor of getting rid of it’s just one of the many things that little things that government could do To make life easier for the American public to enjoy TV or their cell phone or Just living in peace and it just doesn’t happen and there’s other there’s other things that government could do to make your life easier You ever notice and there was a law that was passed about 30 years ago But I never seen I’ve never seen any result of this you especially if you’re hard in hearing I’m hard in here in hearing and you have your volume a little higher in order to listen to someone speak or a television movie you’re watching or TV show you’re watching so you have a little higher than you were you would when you were 20 and all of a sudden the commercial comes and it’s five to ten times louder than the show you were watching in order to get your Attention and that was outlawed I believe about 25 years ago, but I never saw any results I think many people would be happy if they could set the volume of their TV To a certain level and no matter if there’s a commercial or not The level does not change would be a very simple law to enact the FCC has control over that now I agree. They don’t have control over the cable networks, but the government could put controls on the cable networks. That would not allow Such tactics and I think again the average person out there would be happy for such laws But no our government decides they’re gonna make laws that really do not help you in your life And in fact many of these laws, you know a show I did I’m from the government and I’m here to help most of the laws that our government passes ends up hurting us They actually don’t make life easier for us They usually make life tougher for us.And this is the things that if government Really tried to help people instead of help their lobbyist and their special interest that gives them all their money maybe people would be happier than they are because I see a United States of America today where the Average person out there is not happy with the state of affairs going on around them They’re not happy about the spam calls they get they’re not happy about the text messages they get or their emails full of clutter or Watching TV and it constantly having to adjust your volume because it goes up and down up and down based on commercials These are the kind of things I think the American people would welcome and they would think their government’s doing something good for a change other than Putting through a bill to do away with CBD For example in the in the middle of a night by a politician a senator from Kentucky named Mitch McConnell Who’s getting his money from the bourbon companies who want these products removed because it’s hurting their sales These are the things that your politicians are doing not for your benefit, but for their own benefit Wouldn’t it be nice to have a government that could actually do things for the average person out? There’s benefit and that’s just simply is not the case. That’s the plain truth calm.Thank you other pet peeves I have that I think that government could have something to do with that just simply is not done is for example when you go to the supermarket and you want to buy organic products and Produce for mainly and you find everything wrapped in plastic and I understand why companies want to wrap everything in plastic It’s the cheapest way to do things and you can see through The plastic and look at the peaches or the onions or the radishes or whatever. It’s in the plastic but one of the biggest problems and we did a story on this both on the plain truth today and on the main Website and it’s also on your health today about all the microplastics and the average Americans body there is the in your brain, for example, there’s enough plastic to make a a Plastic fork or a spoon. Do you know that there’s about two to three pounds of plastic microplastics in your body leaking? Toxins into your body.So you you if you don’t it doesn’t bother you That’s one thing but you’re trying to eat, right? You’re trying to buy organic you’re paying two times the the price for organic that you would pay for when you are Not buying organic and then you find out that you’re actually poisoning yourself with the wrapping in the organic products I think if it’s an organic product two things should be the case number one They should not be allowed to be wrapped in plastic everything should be loose and then you put it into a paper bag or For example, which is even worse when you think about it that and this is not even disclosed to you there was a time when being organic meant that you had to plant something in the ground and you It had to be in the soil and the soil had to be free of pesticides and contaminants But you know, that’s not the case today Most all of the vegetables that you buy that are small plants are not even growing in the ground they’re growing in plastic containers that the growers use to plant their crops It’s never a field that’s plowed and they put in seeds of squash or peppers or onions No They plant them in plastic containers full of microplastics that now is in the organic food from the root system and It’s called organic and it’s not organic. It’s not good for you So you have to ask yourself is that really protecting the people with the organic symbol and yet the USDA is very protective of that organic label if a person says Their product is organic and it’s not certified organic by the USDA They’re put out of business and maybe go to jail This actually happened to an Amish farmer that we are well aware of and we buy some stuff from who call themselves an organic farm They practice all the organic Policies directed by the USDA But they themselves were not certified by the USDA and they were sued and they said they could not call themselves organic Even though their products were not wrapped in plastic They’re not growing plastic drugs and we’re actually better for you than all the organic stuff that you were buying in a supermarket and not only better for you, but more nutritious because it was Fresh freshly picked which most of the organic stuff you get in a supermarket is much older than their regular Vegetables and fruits because people don’t buy them as often so they sit on the shelves longer in these plastics picking up all these microplastics and toxins and People think they’re eating healthy when they’re not We try to go to the supermarket and we try to buy loose potatoes loose onions loose Vegetables and put them in our own bags And not plastic bags for sure, you know paper bags or something like that or in a basket that we take with us to Fill up and not use any bags at all and it’s this the smarter way of doing it again These are the kind of rules that the government used to have when it came to organics, but they’re not Following these rules today And the reason why is because big business big farms that are not small family farms like this Amish Farm that were taught what I was talking about they control your politicians and their your politicians allow them to Put organic labels on things that basically is just as poisonous for you if you just bought the average be out there or carrot or potato and it’s just something that the Consumer is unaware of and this is the kind of things that government really could do To help you and that’s not the case. Now.I’m gonna talk about in the last few minutes of this program I’m gonna talk about a president who did this and his name was Teddy Roosevelt Teddy Roosevelt grew up in the 1870s 80s and 90s He had a ranch out west and if anybody’s watching the TV show Elkhorn is probably a lot of fakeness to it But it shows you that he had a touch even though he was born with a silver spoon in his mouth he went out and he became a rancher out in the Dakotas in the 1880s and he Worked hard alongside these people who were ranchers and he won their respect and when he became president He went to war with big business. That was defrauding the people the Chicago butcher shops, for example, the slaughterhouses the dirty conditions the The making of Hamburg for example and all of the material that went into the making the hamburgers at the time It was a Teddy Roosevelt that gave us the USDA Now I agree with a lot of people today saying the USDA has turned out to be a bad government agency but it was not intended to be so because our politicians allowed big businesses and big farms to Change laws to allow them to do stuff. That simply is Not good for the public But Teddy Roosevelt did care about the public and he was a president that tried to do good and he did good There was four or five richest people of the world that controlled the railroads They controlled all of the oil.There was one oil company Standard Oil owned by the Rockefellers there was basically one steel company and there was One of every big business and these robber barons as they were called controlled what you ate how you traveled and Basically defrauded the American public of Their goods and services and Teddy Roosevelt saw this and he broke them up. He was not very popular He didn’t surround himself with the billionaires or they were millionaires at the time But today they would do the billionaires of the world He was not popular with him and he had a very good saying he said Government’s job is not to pick winners or losers Government’s job was like on a football field a referee The government’s job is to keep the playing field equal up for all the players so if you are a billion dollar company or a million dollar company or a $10,000 a year Grossing company you had the same protection from the government for your business that the big guy had that is not what’s going on today And every day small businesses go out of business I read a report somewhere and I don’t have the facts in front of me, but like 30,000 small Businesses have gone out of business since so-called Liberation Day of Donald Trump when he announced the tariffs in April because many small manufacturers like myself or small retailers Just could not comply with these tariffs like the big companies finding their way around them For example Walmart started shipping all of their Chinese goods through Canada and they’d rather pay a 25% than 150% The big companies find ways around the tariffs and that’s why When you watch these TV shows these news shows they try to say all the terrorists really haven’t been that bad for inflation Well, they’re not bad for inflation when big companies and Amazon and Walmart has most of the sales They find their way around the tariffs But the American business people the small family people that own businesses or farms They simply cannot compete with these giants It is no different than standard oil when Teddy Roosevelt said you’re gonna become five or six or seven oil companies You’re not gonna have a monopoly Amazon has a monopoly Walmart has a monopoly and The truth is the little Businesses out there cannot compete and without a strong middle class America is gonna disappear as we know it and we are as the Bible predicts us to be we’re gonna go into Captivity and the captivity is going to be amongst the rich people controlling everything you can do say and buy and that is a very Hard time coming for you and me and most people that will listen to this show I don’t think Elon Musk or or Bill Gates is ever gonna listen to this show But I know a lot of people struggling along each day trying to do the American way and do the thing that they were taught how to become Prosperous in America. They’re finding they have rules.They can’t win by in fact They’re learning as most little companies learn that the American dream is now really a Fantasy for the small guy. It’s only an American dream for big corporations who can buy politicians Buy the laws that they want and skirt all kinds of regulations taxes and tariffs that the little guy cannot do It would be nice if we had a government that really cared about the lower-class people in this country and the middle-class people of this country who do all of the working and suffering and buying and dying in this country and we simply have no party that represents them if Someone I think was like a Teddy Roosevelt and I thought Donald Trump was gonna be like a Teddy Roosevelt but when I saw all those billionaires around them in the second inauguration day around the White House desk I realized then and I told my wife I think this is going to be a different administration than the first one around this one is going to be about the big businesses and the big billionaires getting their way with government and the little business people that little manufacturers were going to be put out of business because the truth is if you Understand what made America strong. It was not the big corporations I know that’s what you’re being told today, but it wasn’t the case it was small people with great ideas that made products that people wanted and they produced them and they Hired people to manufacture them and stores sold them and people were happy with that product But then they get put out of business by big companies that have unfair advantages Over them in competition and they end up going out of business and then what happens your prices go up and that’s what happened that’s why monopolies were outlawed because You know Standard Oil might when there was other oil companies at first might go in and be cheaper than anyone else until those other companies went out of business because they could not compete and they could not lose money on selling products and Once those companies went out of business and they found themselves alone in that business all of a sudden the prices Doubled tripled quadrupled where they became unaffordable to the masses and Teddy Roosevelt saw this Reason he’s on Mount Rushmore in my opinion.He was the one of the only presidents in Recent history of the United States that put the people first. It’s called populism true populism not mega populism not populism of big businesses taking advantage of the little guy and the ultimate result of that is when these Businesses go out of business and the big guys are the only ones that remain in business your prices go up we’ve had tremendous inflation over the last 75 years and you know this if you You own gold and you see 35 ounce of gold in 1955 is now worth four thousand dollars and then you have to ask yourself. What does this inflation do? Who does it help? Well, it doesn’t help those poor people.It doesn’t help the middle-class people It only helps the people who are rich and invest and want the products to go up in value That’s That’s the plain truth. And that’s what I wanted to do the show about today let’s go back if we can and find a Government for the people by the people and for the welfare of the people and not for just a select few That’s not Democrats and that’s not Republicans.
