Noah, Science, and The Bible (Transcript)

Jesus Christ said that the end times would be like the times of Noah. He also said that people were unaware of the flood right up until the moment that Noah and the seven people that were with him entered into the ark…which was when the flood arrived.

What do you think is the reaon why Jesus saw the need to compare the end times to the time of Noah and the flood?

Hi, this is Bob Barney with The Plain Truth Today, and I want to go right into a news story in this broadcast that I believe is important. Remember, the Bible isn’t religion…the Bible is news, and it is full of historical accounts of news events and specifically about the flood. Yes, the flood did happen, and it was a news event that wiped out most of the living creatures on the face of the earth.

What was Jesus referring to when He said it would be a time like Noah? 

3:34 What was going on in Noah’s time that would be a comparison of what’s going on today, or frankly, what’s going to be going on in the future when the end time approaches? That’s the subject of today’s show.

I didn’t really study for this show, so this is off the top of my head, and I have some thoughts about this topic that I think are very important for people at least consider.

We watch movies of Noah’s ark and about Noah’s flood where they portray the people of that time as an ancient primitive cavemen type people who built this massive boat with the direction of God. They tell a story of this boat being made out of wood, and that they coated it with pitch and tar even though no one really knows what the Hebrew word for pitch really is…or where it comes from. With that said, that means it could be something different. That these primitive people built an ark and got all of these animals on board with very little help except from God. It’s no wonder why people think it’s a fairy tale, because of the way it’s been presented, even by our churches and by the movies that our churches endorse, we see that the people by the time of Noah were primitive cavemen type people. And I want to tell you that I have a different belief, and I believe when I explain what my belief is, and you will not find most of this in the Bible, I always warn people when I’m giving opinions based on my reading of the Bible. So just take my opinion with a grain of salt, but at least listen to my point of view, and maybe you will see that I have some legitimate points.

What could be the reason why Noah’s time equals the time of the end? The time of the end, spoken by the prophet Daniel, says it would be a time when learning would increase and with the internet and with the search engines available to us can we deny that the knowledge has increased a billion-fold in just 100 years? What was available to people 100 years ago was nowhere comparable to the knowledge, maybe worthless knowledge, but the knowledge that’s available at everybody’s fingertip, right at their iPhone or their Android phone or their computer, that wasn’t available just 30 years ago. I’ve seen so much innovation in my lifetime that it’s almost impossible to remember how I lived in the 1970s without a cell phone, but I did, and so did everyone else.

We have to think for a minute about the time when Jesus was talking about the end time. Jesus is God, and Jesus had foreknowledge of the end times, so he saw a time of the jet aircraft or maybe even aircraft that could fly like UFOs…He saw the anti-gravity type mechanisms that fly. There are all kinds of fusion reactors in the process, there are all kinds of science that is going to make travel possible at almost the speed of light. There are all kinds of bits of knowledge that are going to increase which will bring about the destruction of mankind in a Holocaust level nuclear world war. This will be the time that Christ has to come back to save us from ourselves. Now when we think about the flood, we have to think about who these people were? They’re about a thousand years old; yes, mankind was placed on the earth a little over a thousand years earlier than Noah.

6:56 Something that is a very good study is about who these people were that lived before Noah…if I can find it, I’ll share that on a Sabbath day sometime.  Some questions to think about are how many people died because of the flood? Because these people lived right up until the time of the flood, and that’s what killed them.

So, what was it about these people?

Was it something that they knew that caused God to cause the flood to wipe out the population? Did God find it necessary not only to wipe out the human race but also wipe out every living creature that was on land, not in the waters, but on land because of something they knew? Could it be, and this is the sci-fi question of the day, could it be that the people in the time of Noah were as advanced or even more advanced than we are today?

Did you know that with the way we claim the pyramids were made, it was impossible to make the pyramids? I think anybody could do a very quick search and realize without modern equipment that we have today, we could easily build the pyramids but see that it was impossible to accomplish that feat without such equipment. That’s where you get such ideas like, oh, there were aliens from other planets to help the Egyptians build the pyramids, which is nonsense. My contention is that there was knowledge of something that caused God to take action like He did. The reason that I think this is because knowledge increased rapidly in the first 1,000 years of mankind and there was no event to cause a mass death. In fact, there were very little people dying. People lived these incredible long lifespans of 600 or 700…years, even 900 years! I think Methuselah was 969 years old when he died.

9:00 Knowledge increased back then much more rapidly than knowledge could increase in our lifetime up until now because people who gain knowledge take that knowledge to the grave when they die. Think about all the knowledge that Nikolai Tesla took to the grave with him. He was talking about getting electricity for free from the sky, and you could light up cities and homes and factories and farms with free electricity from the sky. This was so real and possible that his major backer of the day decided not to back Tesla because he couldn’t find a way to make a profit giving away electricity that was free in the air.

So, think about the logic here…when you have people living incredibly long lives where they don’t die for 700 plus years, the knowledge that they have is still there, so you have bunches of old people who have got to be comparing notes. In their first 1,000 years of the existence of mankind it makes sense that they had gained a knowledge of science and other mathematical questions that we maybe don’t even have today.

I believe that Noah’s Ark is not the ark that we see in the movies or in nice pictures. I have a picture of Noah’s Ark resting with the rainbow over it in my office, but maybe it wasn’t the way we really think that it was. Maybe Noah’s Ark was one of the most advanced ships of the day that would even be advanced for us, today.

David Fasold and Vendyl Jones discovered what I believe to be the true site of Noah’s Ark. You can see it right now as it’s in Armenia.  You can see the picture of the ark, here. You can also see the studies that were done by David Fassold and Vendyl Jones where they found iron patterns on the ark where it had a rib like pattern just like a modern shaped ship is a made of iron…not of wood, but of iron.

Is it possible that Noah’s Ark was as modern or even more modern than the most modern of ships that we have today?

Were men able to fly around in airplane type vehicles before the patriarchs in the time when the first people existed on earth?

Could it be they were so advanced that they were doing genetic experiments like we are today?

Do you remember Dolly the sheep, who was born in a test tube some 30 years ago? Could they have been messing around with DNA way back when? Maybe they were polluting animals and creating creatures that we know to be dinosaurs or even creatures we do not see anymore.

13:58 Could it be that man was experimenting by trying to make huge beasts and trying to manipulate DNA and trying to manipulate even human bodies?

You can look this up as they’re not alive today, but there are skeletons of people who were 9, 10, 11, and 12 feet tall. Notice how they are not around today??? How did they get that tall? Were people really that tall and we degenerated into a lower heighted people? Or… in a more likely hypothesis, was there genetic engineering going on so much so that they were playing God?

Possibly they were playing God with their own DNA, like we are today.

Possibly they were playing God with animals’ DNA, like we’re doing today.

Or with all kinds of medical experiments, like we’re doing today. Maybe they were very technically advanced, being able to make large ships out of iron, like we do today. Maybe they were able to make all kinds of discoveries that are just unimaginable.

I believe there is a case to be made that the people before the flood were more advanced of a civilization than we have today.

Case in point, Atlantis.

16:23 We think Atlantis is a fairy tale. It’s a part of Greek mythology and yet, there are many archaeologists and scientists, and even historians who believe there was a place called Atlantis that had a very advanced civilization. They believe it was written about by the Greek philosophers, and that it was a real place. It maybe was in the Atlantic Ocean. There is a ridge of mountains that go down the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. If you drain the water and look at a map of the earth without water, you can see a massive mountain range that if the water receded, like it was before the flood, would have been above the ground, and it would have been a huge continent.

Could that have been Atlantis?

Maybe…however, my point is it should make one at least question, why would Jesus compare a very modern end times with all this advanced civilization…why would He compare it to the time of Noah?

Unless maybe they too were living in a very advanced civilization, far more advanced than we ever thought possible in what we see in our TV shows, movies about Noah’s Ark, and the paintings that we have over our office furniture.

Again, I think you’ll find that it’s very possible that history is just repeating itself. That what we are doing today, has been done before…maybe even more advanced. A theme that I keep mentioning is what happens when you don’t know your history. In all honesty, some of our history has been erased, and I suggest much of history has been erased because of our fault, but that this history was erased because of a flood. That it was in fact not taken on the ark and not recorded, because God did not want man to advance so quickly again, as he did before the flood. To a point where man could destroy the earth again.

Was there a nuclear bomb before Noah’s Ark? Were people working with atomic energy? Were people working with maybe even fission and fusion? Possibly. I do not doubt that it could have been the case.

18:32 Remember, the god of this world is Satan the devil. We had published a broadcast on that topic about a year ago. You can do a search on any kind of Bible on “who is the God of this world”, and the results will take you to the place where Paul says that the God of this world is Satan. You will read that Satan inspires the people of this world, and Satan is very, very smart. He was one of the four archangels, and was a brilliant, beautiful angel…archangel of God until he rebelled, and so he has the knowledge of God.

What did Satan when he was in the form of a snake, promise Eve when she ate of the fruit? He said that God was lying to her, number one, and that she would be like God, knowing good and evil. My idea is that Satan, along with his demons, did everything they could to deceive the first humans that were on the earth, starting with Adam and Eve. Yet still giving them hidden knowledge that only God knows, and that God knew was not good for us to have and understand. Maybe this is why God did not want Adam and Eve to partake of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Maybe God understood that the carnal mind will gravitate towards evil, and maybe God was trying to protect Adam and Eve from falling into the trap of the devil and from choosing evil…something that is called an evil genius path of destruction. It just seems like a practical thing to me that the reason Jesus compared the two periods of time as alike and one in the same is because of the advancement of civilization that occurred before the flood, and the loss of civilization after the flood.

We have a semi-modern-day example of this, and it’s called the Dark Ages. Rome was in a very advanced stage with their civilization, not as advanced as us, but for the time, in the 5-600 AD timeframe, Rome was very advanced. They had advanced warfare, they had advanced warships, they had advanced weapons, and they had advanced knowledge of building roads and aqueducts. In fact, you name it, in all respects they were a very advanced people, and then Rome fell.

We had a show about America being like Rome, and are we going to fall, which we are, and when Rome fell to the barbarian invasion, the world was plunged into a dark age. All of the knowledge of building these great big buildings and archways and aqueducts would have all been lost, if not for the monks. If it wasn’t for the monks writing down all that they did…during the Dark Ages, we would basically have no history of what the Roman Republic and empire was even like. Without the Bible, we would have no idea of ancient Israel and of ancient Egypt and ancient Assyria and Babylon. We do owe much to the Roman Catholic Church. Because of the knowledge that we acquired from them, we were kept out of the Dark Ages and brought into the Middle Ages…which is also called the Age of Enlightenment.

You’ve heard me disparage the Roman Catholic Church because they are the Babylon mystery of religion, but the monks did keep that knowledge alive, and believe it or not, Satan the devil wanted to keep that knowledge alive too. As I have stated, it is because he wanted to make sure that man would progress as quickly as possible after the fall of Rome and be able to destroy the world before too many years would go by again.

That is the whole idea of how the knowledge of Rome made it through the Dark Ages however, the point I wanted to make is they were Dark Ages and how what happened after the flood was another kind of a Dark Age…one planned by God and brought about by Noah himself.

Why?

22:21 Because Noah was a man of God who listened and obeyed God.

I’m sure God would have told Noah that he was to take nothing on the ark of the former world that reflected anything that the former world was like. Noah’s descendants would not try to duplicate that and what do we see within one or two generations after Noah’s ark comes to its resting place? We see the Tower of Babel and we see the advancements being made because the people had one language still on the earth. The advancements they were making specifically was in trying to make a skyscraper to get to heaven. One of the theories is that they were trying to make a skyscraper, the Tower of Babel, that was taller than the floodwaters that were on earth. So therefore, if God sent another flood on the earth, the king could run up to the top and not be swept away. I mean, why didn’t he build an ark himself? Don’t know, but they didn’t have the technology maybe.

What does God say to themselves? I say themselves because there are two beings that we call God. First of all, there is the God that we refer to as Jesus Christ. That is this word or the spokesman of the Godhead and there is another member of the Godhead that we know as God the Father, who became God the Father when Jesus stepped down from his position as being a co-equal God with the Father and became his son, literally, physically, on earth and maintain that status to this day. Now we have a father-son relationship when before the fall of man, we had a co-equal Godhead where Jesus and the God the Father were equal in the relationship. But Jesus, for the love of his creation, us, we are his creation, Christ made us, and we are made in his image, that because of his love for us, he stepped off his pedestal as a co-equal God with the Father, which became the Father, and became the Son of God, and is today sitting at the right hand of God the Father in heaven and is not equal to God the Father any longer. And we really owe a lot to that.

25:01 The idea that Jesus Christ did this for us to save us from this knowledge would tell me that the same Jesus Christ who was speaking to Noah would make sure that nothing was brought on the ark that would cause people to rapidly progress. What we saw with the Tower of Babel is they were rapidly progressing because of one language. So when the two Gods are talking to each other and take a look and assess what man is doing, they decided, hey, let us go down and confuse them. Babylon means confusion. God went down and destroyed the tower and broke up the language into many languages, and so people could not think together, work together, and then people started separating around the world based on language.

People who don’t speak the same language don’t stay around each other very long, except unless you’re an alien living in America keeping your old culture, but that’s a different story.

Again, this is nothing you are going to find in the Bible, and I do not want people running off thinking this is a new form of a religion here. I just am pointing out something that I think is very important. In summary, I am trying to point out: Could it be that Jesus compared the time of the end with the time of Noah because of this rapid advancement we are making today in the sciences and health and medicine, which are not really advancements at all? In fact, they could end up enslaving us to these same people who are trying to turn us into robots and to slaves, and to replace us with robots as well, with the so-called AI. And I always like to laugh about AI. Anybody who ever tries to use AI, calling a bank for help, or calling a company for help that has to try to get through a robot telephone operator, it almost pulls your hair out, and you have to keep saying over and over again, you know, customer service, please, customer service, please, customer service, and you have to say it over and over again. And finally, when the computer says, okay, we’re going to get you somebody to answer your question, we’re going to get you customer service, and you have to talk to a person in order to fix the problem. And so, you know, sometimes this artificial intelligence is not very intelligent at all, it’s artificial unintelligence, and it can lead to a great massive destruction that may be coming to this earth, not maybe, it’s going to be coming to this earth, Jesus predicted it, it’s going to happen, it’s going to come true, if you like it or not, if you believe it or not.

If you don’t believe the stories of the Bible, you’re making a big mistake because the Bible is accurate.

27:23 Time and time again, historians and archaeologists claim this story in the Bible is not true. Just last week, for example, on The Plain Truth, we reported that the walls of the city of David were built during Hezekiah’s time, that King David did not build them, as the Bible said. What do they find? They find walls and they date these walls, where irreligious, atheist archaeologists and scientists now admit that the walls around the city of David came from the time of David. They prove that they can do that by inscriptions mentioning David and his kingdom, and they can also tell by the pottery and the qualities of the pottery, and the time frame the pottery was made inside these walls. Again, the point here is the Bible turns out to be 100% accurate in their description of the past, and what we believe was accurate about the past turns out to be plain wrong. This is done over and over, time and time again.

I had a show about this a week ago, I think we played it on the Sabbath day. It was about how up into the 1960s, major theologians said Jesus Christ never walked on this earth. They said that He’s a figure of an imagination and that there are no references to Jesus Christ other than in the New Testament. That was just provably wrong at the time. Josephus mentioned him, Tacticus mentioned Him, many different extra anti-Christian sources mentioned Him, and we know now Jesus did exist. Unlike the movement in the 1960s that thought Jesus was a code word for a mind-altering mushroom during the LSD days…a time when everything was about something mind-altering, it turns out Jesus was a real human being. This has been proven many times yet we don’t recognize it because we want to live in a secular world, and we don’t attribute everything to God as the ancients did…or even the American Indians did!

The American Indians realized that everything in nature, and everything in their life, had to do with God…and they weren’t far off. They understood nature is proof of a living Creator God, and that anyone who comes away as an atheist is really a fool.

The Bible calls atheists’ fools and also calls atheists lovers of death. Isn’t it amazing that atheist-communist-leftist leaders are for abortion? That they’re for euthanasia? That they’re for death? So, just a thought from the Plain Truth Today in regard to how the flood times can be very similar to these times that we’re living in and even the times that we are headed into and in a vastly different way than we expected it to be…they were a very advanced culture, maybe even more advanced than we are today. So, again, we try to bring a lot of points of view to the Plain Truth that people don’t think about all the time, and I think these points of view should be considered. I believe first of all, that one has to prove that God exists, and once you can, and it’s very easy to do. One has to prove that the Bible really the Word of God, and I think that’s a very easy thing to do as well. This can be done even just with fulfilled prophecy! I think many people who are listening to this program believe in God and they believe the Bible so if this is the case then you have to believe what the Bible says, and you have to live a life and understand that the Bible is a recording of history’s news stories. One is to believe that is also is a prediction of tomorrow’s news stories. If you want to know what’s going on tomorrow, you just have to read the Bible!
