Hi, this is Bob Barney with the Plain Truth Today broadcast brought to you by theplaintruth.com. Some little interesting tidbits in today’s show. It’s a little off the beat type of show compared to what I usually do.

I had let everyone know what my real job is but in case you may have missed this, my wife and I own an automotive, marine, and fleet paint company. We manufacture paint. Today’s show is a little bit of fractured history. I always say that if you don’t know your history, you’re destined to repeat the mistakes of history. Too many people today just do not know their history and they based their lives on what they think they know, sometimes on fractured history and history that really never existed.

For example, I think people understand about taxation and the Revolutionary War, no taxation without representation. I mentioned a week or two ago how really the Revolutionary War was fought for liberty. Liberty was the reason that the colonists wanted to separate themselves from England. A little-known fact on this is what actually started the Revolutionary War. It was a tax that the English government imposed on the American colonies to help support their involvement in the French and Indian war that took place 10 years before the Revolutionary War.

Back in the early 1760s, the French had Canada, and of course the English colonies, the 13 original colonies and the western lands like the Pittsburgh area of Pennsylvania, and that was the far west, you know, in 1763…there were many Indian tribes in the Midwest. George Washington was actually a colonel in the French and Indian War, and he actually studied under General Gage of the English Army when he was in the English Army himself. His knowledge of English tactics, and especially that of the brutality of General Gage, gave Washington a very good insight into how he was going to have to fight him during the Revolutionary War. But a little-known fact about the Stamp Act was the Stamp Act was a tax on certain things that the English Parliament decided to tax American colonies for using things that they knew the American colonies could not do without. This Stamp Act put a stamp on certain items mostly that were made in England or in English colonies elsewhere around the world. These were items that the Americans loved, and we all know about the Boston Tea Party or we think we know about the Boston Tea Party, but the Stamp Act actually put a tax on all printed goods. Firstly, there was a tax on almanacs and newspapers and magazines, and so there was a stamp that was placed on everything you’d buy. Like today, you go buy a bottle of liquor and there is one over the cork or over the opening a bottle top. And that’s like a stamp. That’s what the Stamp Act did.

Well, a little side note of what interests me is history…I am a historian. I went to college for history and political science, not paint…which is what I ended up in. One of the items taxed with the Stamp Act, believe it or not, was paint. There were no paint manufacturers in the United States at the time of the colonies in the 1750s, 60s, 70s, and stuff like that. So all the paint that was being imported into America from England is what we painted our barns with, our homes with and with that said, one of the largest if not the largest consumers of paint believe it or not was George Washington. Washington was one of the largest if not the largest liquor distillers in America…uh… George Washington sold liquor and uh… there was you know a stamp act also applied to liquor, so George Washington was not very happy with the Stamp Act.

The funny thing is that paint was one of the things that really ticked George Washington off because he was such a consumer of paint.

Mount Vernon had a full-time paint crew. I don’t know how many people know this, but like the San Francisco Bridge, the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, they never stop painting it. When they have a paint crew that goes to work every single day of the year and when they finish painting, and it takes several years to finish painting it, they start again all over. The Golden Gate Bridge and many other big bridges like the George Washington Bridge and any of these big suspension bridges, they have a full-time paint crew who are always painting…they never stop! So, George Washington had a full-time paint crew at Mount Vernon painting everything and back then a lot of paint was milk-based. It really was a milk so sometimes some kind of a white zinc oxide or some kind of a red color or something like that and they would make paint out of it and it was that’s what the word whitewash comes from because it was really like a wash…a milky wash of white paint that you would paint your barns and your fences and your homes with and they lasted a year or two at the most. Because of this, people were constantly painting their homes or their barns.

George Washington was constantly painting Mount Vernon.

So, levying a tax on paint was probably one of the more serious taxes that the Americans really despised. Of course, we know there was also the Stamp Act which put a tax on tea, and that’s where we get the idea of the Boston Tea Party. Stay with me…there is a paint connection with the Boston Tea Party because newspapers, magazines, almanacs, paint, liquor, and tea had a special tax on it to help the English pay for the French and Indian War, which they said, which was partly true, by the way. The American colonies owed because they fought that war for the safety of the American colonies. However, the American colonies were kind of like spoiled brats, a lot like voters today. They were not used to paying taxes. They moved to the New World and basically within a hundred years or so, they actually became Americanized, and they weren’t used to British law when it came to taxation.

Parliament basically left American colonies alone. We were like an afterthought and after the French and Indian War and England was deeply in debt, the parliament decided they needed to tax the Americans for the war they fought for the American cause. The Americans didn’t see things that way, though. They thought they shouldn’t have to pay taxes because they didn’t have representatives in Parliament. This is where we get the term taxation without representation. It’s just a little fractured note in history about the paint business, which I’m in, and please don’t mistake this as a plug for my business as I haven’t even given you the name but it’s just something that I find interesting and important to emphasize.

Like I said, I am a historian…I am a history nut, and I like to learn every little aspect of history and about the people who made history. I find it very fascinating, and I also find you can learn a lot.

Another fractured fact that most people probably do not know…well…some people may know the first part of this, but Ronald Reagan was the butt of many jokes when he was president. Why? Because the media tried to make Ronald Reagan into what Joe Biden is today in actuality. Imagine that. They tried to make Ronald Reagan seem like he was this senile old man who really never accomplished anything in his life…claiming that he was a B actor and not even a good actor at that, but Ronald Reagan was a very good actor. However, when George Bush ran against him for the nomination in 1980, Bush called Reaganomics, ‘voodoo economics’, or trickle-down economics when the Reagan economic plan of the 1980s basically pulled America out of a decade-long depression or recession as they call it. Ronald Reagan said, a recession is when your neighbor’s out of work and a depression is when you’re out of work, but other than that there is no difference.

America in the late seventies under Jimmy Carter was in a situation almost as bad off as we are today. At the time the modern press, Sam Donaldson for example, and others liked to ridicule Ronald Reagan’s inexperience when it came to economics. They spent time claiming that he didn’t really know what he was doing and that his economic plan would fail of course yet we had some of the greatest growth under Reaganomics that this country had ever seen! A little note that the press just didn’t tell you was that they called Ronald Reagan a lifeguard…I’ll tell you that story here in a minute, but Ronald Reagan had a college education and what did Ronald Reagan study in college? What was his major? It was economics! No one wanted to say that fact in the media because frankly that was something they didn’t want the American people to know. They didn’t want anyone to know because then people would say well maybe he knows what he’s talking about. The idea that Ronald Reagan was a lifeguard during high school was often noted in a derogatory sense as if he never really accomplished much. But you know as a lifeguard, Ronald Reagan saved the lives of 77 people. That is what is accredited to his lifeguard duties. He saved the lives of 77 people. In summary, they joked about an idea that Ronald Reagan was nothing but a B-actor lifeguard, but they failed to mention that not only was he an economics major, having understood the economy and economics better than anybody in the press but he also was a life-saving lifeguard with 77 saves under his belt. I think that’s just a point of history that I don’t know if that’s going to take you anywhere, but there’s a point I’m trying to make and that is that the press, aka the mainstream media has been communist oriented, or better said, socialist communist oriented now for over 70 years. This all started with the Franklin Delano Roosevelt administration.

Most of your mainstream media people hated the Republican economics. Do you know that the best economic time in America was under Eisenhower, a Republican, and under Ronald Reagan, a Republican, and under Donald Trump, a Republican. So, what I’m trying to point out is that the press knows these facts and what they often don’t tell are facts that would change people’s opinions if they just knew the whole story.

Maybe if they were history buffs like I am and like to find little fascinating tales like this, more people would see the light. They would see the truth about Ronald Reagan’s economic degree and the fact of him saving 77 people as a lifeguard. Even with World War II, there are a lot of lessons to be learned but a little-known fact is that everyone knows that the fight to liberate Europe under General Eisenhower, that we prepared for quite a few years, two or three years, we prepared for an invasion of the European mainland. When the war first started, when America entered the war, World War II was already going on. But when we first entered the war, we took the war to Africa first and then we took the war to Sicily next. We were not going after the mainland because the Germans, especially off the coast of France, the Netherlands, Denmark, the Germans just had defense systems that were just tremendously hard to overcome. So, the generals under Eisenhower for months and years, planned on D-Day.

We all know the story of D-Day. I think we all watched some of the movies, Saving Private Ryan a few years back, about 20 years back now, I guess. And, um, but one of the trivia’s you can ask somebody, you know, at a trivia contest is what does the D stand for D-Day? Well, believe it or not, the D stands for day. So day-to-day is what it translates to. One more fractured history lesson there that doesn’t mean much but I just thought I would point that out but can now go to the war between the states or the civil war under Abraham Lincoln. The union fought the south under Jefferson Davis, and we are told how horrible the confederacy was and how it was just a stain in the mark of black people’s memories because of slavery. So we have a fractured history of the and South and some of the things the South represented and most of the things that the South were fighting for was not slavery but states’ rights and a smaller federal government. That is why it’s called the Confederacy, by the way, because they wanted a Confederate order of states. They did not want what we had in America at the time until this day, a federal government that had more power than state governments. So that was the tension that eventually led to the Civil War.

One of the points that often is overlooked by historians mentioning the Civil War is that most of the black slaves fought for the Confederacy when they were freed by their Confederates. The Emancipation Proclamation was really to try to get blacks to join the union which many did, and many were very heroic fighters for the union, but did you know that the Constitution of the Confederate States of America banned the slave trade? They didn’t ban slavery, but they actually outlawed the slave trade! Just a point to make that you think of these the confederates all as KKK members, claim to be white hooded evil people who just wanted to cause harm to all black people in America. This is probably not the whole truth, yet the truth always lies somewhere the middle.

You know, when the American Civil War started, Confederate General of the Army, Robert E. Lee, which is my wife’s middle name and is named after Robert E. Lee, didn’t own a slave. But did you know that General Grant, who eventually took over the Union Army, held slaves? And even after Lincoln emancipated the slaves, Grant did not give up his slaves. He was the Union General. Just a point of history that sometimes our media and our historians want to bend history in order to make sure we come away with a different idea of how history really was. If you grew up in the 1950s and 60s, as some of us old-timers did, one of the things we always remember is watching the Daniel Boone TV show, and Fess Parker played Daniel Boone, and he wore a coonskin cap. So, we believe to this day that Daniel Boone wore a coonskin cap, and so did Davy Crockett, who was also in an earlier movie, a Walt Disney movie, played Davy Crockett wearing a coonskin cap. However, Davy Crockett did at times, I guess, wear one but contrary to popular belief, Daniel Boone not only never wore a coonskin cap, but he also detested them. It was a very eastern cap or what you would call gentleman-type felt cap.

Just another, just a small history thing, how we get fractured in our history also by the movies we watch, and the TV shows we watch. Often Hollywood rewrites history as they want us to see history through the lens of a Hollywood producer and that often that is not what is the case in reality. A lot of movies and I’m going to go into one right now and it’s we’re going to end the show with this one mistake of the press, something that maybe we will go into more in depth later, but the press has always taken a star role in reporting the news where they become the actors in the news and they’re not just reporters. The press love to be the movie stars and we saw this really when it came to the Watergate or so-called Watergate scandal. For the younger people out there listening, Watergate was at the time in the mid-nineteen seventies the biggest scandal to rock Washington, D.C. ever. It was even on live TV. We had live TV hearings in Congress about what Richard Nixon knew and when did he know it. When you really compare what Watergate was about and what President Obama did to the press and to other people, it is uncanny the similarities. The civil rights he took away from people specifically and even comparing what Joe Biden is doing to the Constitution and to the rights of the American people…he is literally turning the Bill of Rights into toilet paper! We find out the Richard Nixon first of all committed no crime yet other people committed crimes of the break-in of Watergate. Did you know that the people that broke into the Watergate Hotel, that’s really what it was, where the Democrat Party had their headquarters and their secret papers, they weren’t going to win the election of 1972 anyway.

Another little-known fact is in the 1972 election, Richard Nixon won by the hugest landslide in the history of elections to this day. Ronald Reagan did not get more votes, electoral college votes, than Richard Nixon, neither did Donald Trump, or neither did any other president. The most popularly elected by the college of elector’s president we’ve ever had was Richard Nixon in 1972 and within two years the left-leaning communist press got him removed from office through lies and made-up stories. The Woodward-Bernstein movie that you can watch, you know, and all of these things we think we know about Watergate, they’re all lies.

First of all, did you know that Bob Woodward was a naval intelligence officer and was actually planted in the Washington Post in order to get Richard Nixon? Because Richard Nixon was a devout, and I mean a devout, anti-communist. From the beginning of his political career in the late 1940s as a House of Representatives member, he outed so many communists in the Truman administration that Nixon was absolutely despised by Hollywood communists and by the Democratic Party who at the time were for communists and the same as we see today. So Richard Nixon was on the hit list right from the beginning and so they tried to make Richard Nixon into some scandal racked politician that just didn’t have an honest bone in his body when in fact Richard Nixon probably had more honesty going for him than the likes of a Joe Biden will ever have. Did you know the five or six, I forgot exactly how many people that were caught in the break-in were CIA agents, deep state CIA agents, that was supposedly breaking in for the Richard Nixon re-election campaign, but they were actually put there to get caught, and they actually broke into the Watergate twice. Each time they wanted to be discovered and be arrested, and the first time because of an inept security guard they didn’t get caught so they had to do it again in order to get caught. Are you aware of that? Because the CIA was part of the Democrat strategy to one, get rid of John Kennedy with a bullet and two, to get rid of Richard Nixon in any way possible.

We’re seeing that again by the way with the trials of Donald Trump.

Did you know that one of the people who broke in to the Watergate Hotel was not only a CIA agent, his name was E. Howard Hunt, but E. Howard Hunt, on his deathbed, said he was one of the three men on the grassy knoll that shot John Kennedy for the CIA and that Lee Harvey Oswald, as we all know, was just a patsy who was also a CIA agent, a double agent. Yes, Oswald at our deep state government was used as a patsy to kill Kennedy who was pulling us out of the Vietnam War before we even got into it. He was told by his former boss General MacArthur earlier to not get into a ground war in Southeast Asia because you will never win a ground war unless you want to go nuclear and so John Kennedy was to get rid of the American involvement in Vietnam.

And what ended up happening? He got eradicated by bullets fired by CIA people. And one of which was also involved in the Watergate break-in. And if that doesn’t raise somebody’s eyebrows about what’s going on, I don’t know what else can. It’s as plain as the nose on anybody’s face that when somebody dies, and they give a deathbed confession it’s usually the truth. It’s, or as I would say, the plain truth. And yet we see the same deep state working against Donald Trump now with all kinds of made-up facts, made-up press articles, stories that always turn out to be false. The whole Russian dossier turned out to be a Democrat Hillary Clinton plant. It was totally fake. It’s come out, but you don’t hear that anymore.

Maybe some of the more conservative right-wing leading news sites and stations and the newspapers report that, but nobody really hears anything about all of the made up things. You remember when Donald Trump said he was being spied on and the press went crazy saying that he was some kind of a maniac, that he thought everybody was out to get him? Well it turned out they were spying on him and everybody just forgot about that fact that he was right.

Everything Donald Trump said was going on was going on. And the media was complicit, the deep state CIA, FBI was complicit, and the Democratic Party and the Democratic Congress was complicit. And January 6th, that was planned not by the January 6th protesters, no, it was infiltrated by FBI agents and CIA agents that did all the damage that day and that Nancy Pelosi orchestrated. And her own daughter somewhat admitted to that in an interview that her mother was largely responsible for January 6th. Little known facts. Again, when we don’t learn our history, we are always doomed to repeat our history. And that is what this show is really about. Even though there’s some little funny points of history that we don’t know, but the idea is why don’t we know things? Why don’t we know, for example, that America is lost Israel?

Let’s say it’s a total mythology and it’s not true. Well, we have many movies based on mythological stories that are very fascinating and are box-office sensations. But no one in Hollywood dares to even give the story of the Stone of Destiny that is under the throne of every monarch that has ever sat on an English throne. There is a stone, look it up, the Stone that Jacob the patriarch Jacob Abraham’s grandson used as a pillow the night he had his dream the stairway to heaven. You know if you listen to the song this stairway to heaven dream is about watching angels coming down from heaven and going back to heaven and he knew that God was with him that night and that stone became sacred to the Israelites and they took that stone wherever they went. In fact, that stone from the prophet Jeremiah ended up in Ireland, Scotland, and now England. It’s back in Scotland but every time a king will be coronated or queen, it will be over a throne with that stone underneath it.

You can see the picture. You can go right to the Internet today, do Stone of Scone, and you’ll see the picture under the throne. And why are people unaware of what the people who know about that stone know what it represents? Why isn’t there a movie about it? Why isn’t there a science fiction movie about it? Or a Star Wars type movie about it? Or a Raiders of the Lost Ark movie about it. Because it’s a part of history that’s true, and the powers that be don’t want you to know. Who are the powers that be? Who’s behind the media? Who’s the prince of the airwaves, according to the Bible? It’s none other than Satan the devil. When you’re driving down the road and you have an evil thought, that is the airwaves. You know, when you’re sitting in a room, there are hundreds of TV stations beaming your brain. There are hundreds of radio stations and shortwave radio stations going through your brain, but your ears can’t pick it up. Yet, that wave is there, and if you had the right tuner, you could hear it.

Just a note from The Plain Truth today on a different kind of story.

This is Bob Barney saying thank you for listening, please tell a different kind of story. This is Bob Barney saying thank you for listening, please tell your friends about the show, and we’ll see you back here again tomorrow. Bye-bye.
