One of the categories that we have on The Plain Truth today, when you go down and look at the categories, is why we do what we do. Hi, this is Bob Barney with The Plain Truth today, talking about things that we do and don’t even know why we do it. And one of those we’re going to talk about today, of course, is Halloween. Why do we do Halloween? What’s so great about Halloween? Is Halloween a Christian holiday, as the Catholic Church tries to promote? Is Halloween an okay day? Is it for the kids? Well, I don’t know how much you pay attention, but it doesn’t seem Halloween is for kids anymore. It’s mainly an adult holiday. It’s mainly an adult homosexual holiday, to be honest. It’s a day that people make themselves up and make themselves look weird or paint themselves, the stuff that the queers do. And it’s a holiday that is just based on evil. It’s based on satanic principles, that when you expose your children to it, you’re exposing them to evil.

You’re exposing their life to the idea that the devil is going to gain control. One of the fallacies that I’m afraid that modern man has, especially Western civilization man, is that the devil doesn’t exist. Evil doesn’t exist in a form of a devil.

They think evil exists in the form of Donald Trump or a person or a Hitler type. They don’t understand that there is a angelic being named Lucifer, who is the devil, that is behind evil in this world. As Jesus Christ said, he is the father of lies.

There were no lies before Lucifer became Satan many, many, maybe millions of years ago in heaven, when there was a real Star Wars in heaven and the angels and God kicked the demons that followed Satan, the other angels, and Satan to this earth where they are trapped today. And unfortunately for mankind, we are under the influence because the Bible clearly shows that the devil is the god of this world. God put him in charge of this earth before Adam was even created.Adam’s job was to replace the devil as the king of this earth and the god of this earth someday, but Adam failed. That’s why we needed a second Adam named Jesus Christ to qualify to replace Satan the devil, but that has not happened yet. He did qualify, but he does not become king of kings and lord and lord on this earth and the god of this world until he returns and sets up his kingdom on this earth and Satan the devil is actually imprisoned in a pit for a thousand years until the end of millennium.That’s the plain truth. And so why do we do what we do? Why do we do the things we do when we put the Christian label on it or we say it’s okay for our kids to do? Because that is what’s going on and it’s not okay for our kids to do. There’s an old country and western song called Skip a Rope and it talks about all the things that the children say. Isn’t it really cute what your children say? And it talks about hatred and hate your neighbor and stab them in the back because that’s the name of the game. These are the lyrics of the song and at the very end of the song, he says it’s really not very funny what your children say because you are the reason the children say what they do. They’re emulating you and if you bring them the devil, they’re going to emulate the devil and they’re permeate the movie screens and they have a purpose.

Satan has a purpose to promote himself in these evil witchcraft type movies and we are falling victim and do not understand that our mind is a sponge and it picks up good things and it picks up bad things. Our ears and our brain is like a radio station and we do not hear the words of God coming into our head but they do get there. God gets his message out.That’s another category we have on The Plain Truth today is the songs and the movies and the books where God can get his message to us that we don’t even realize God is talking to us many times when we watch a movie. And the same thing about Satan the devil. Unfortunately, a lot of the music and a lot of the movies and a lot of the books and a lot of the things that we expose ourselves to and our children to are actually the airwaves of the devil.

The Bible again says the devil is the prince of the airwaves, meaning most of the signals, the heard unseen signals that go into your brain that gives you instant thoughts that you don’t even realize does not come from your own brain, that is coming from Satan the devil. You’re driving down the road and people have bad thoughts coming into their head or bad things just permeate their brain. They are sometimes caused by mental illness but oftentimes on the average person that is not mentally ill they still have a lot of strange thoughts and they do not even attribute those strange thoughts that there is a devil that is infecting their brain with an unseen airwave of bad thoughts in order to get you to do bad things, think bad things, and eventually think that you’ve committed some kind of unpardonable sin, which you haven’t done.

But the devil wants you to be convinced that God the Father and God Jesus Christ are done with you, that you’re so evil and you’re so much under his spell, eventually that’s what he wants you to believe, that you run away from God and run away from the salvation that has been offered to you free of charge if you just take it and understand it. But one of the things we have to understand is why do we do the things that we do? Why do we do Halloween? It doesn’t take very much research, it doesn’t take very much effort on anyone’s part to do some research on where did Halloween come from. Now we on Halloween always have videos that we get off of YouTube or other places that describe Halloween, the history of it.We do that on the main page as well as on the Plain Truth Today and the videos and audios explaining what Halloween is, where it came from, the pagan origins of Halloween, and the harm that Halloween does to your children and to your own brains. If you invite the devil into your home, the devil will come in. And if you invite him in and invite him into your children’s life, into their minds and into their life’s existence, well, you’ve caused your children permanent harm for the rest of their life because Satan will move in on cue and take things over and take over your life.And all of a sudden you will find yourself like many, many people in this world, in a state of confusion, of mental illness that is not caused by any human factor. It’s caused by an unseen airwaves of Satan the devil that’s taken over your home and your mind and your loved ones. And if you do not have the protection of Jesus Christ’s power and the protection of the Holy Spirit, which is the spirit that God is made out of, both God the Father and God Jesus are made of the Holy Spirit.The Holy Spirit is not, there’s no trinity. The Holy Spirit is what Jesus is made out of. The Holy Spirit is what the Father is made out of.You’re made out of flesh and blood. That’s why Jesus says, flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, only the Spirit. You must be in the Spirit.You must be born again. But you’re not born again because you had some religious experience and you accepted Jesus as your Savior. That is not born again.Born again is when you die and you are in a grave and Christ comes on his return and the trumpet blows and the dead in Christ raise back into immortal life. They become God themselves, spiritual beings. That is when you are born again.And that is why Jesus Christ in your Bible says he was born again. He was the first born of the dead. And his body that was dead in the grave came back to life after three days and is living today as God again in heaven.

And that is a powerful message. And that is what you have available for you down the road, you will be born again as a spiritual being, as a God, the Son of God, the brother of Jesus Christ. You are in the God family and God made you in God’s own image.Let us make man in our image after our likeness is what the Bible says. We are made in the image of God. So if you make something in the image of a cow, what’s the offspring going to be? A cow.If you make something in the image of a monkey, what is their offspring going to always be? A monkey. So if you make something in the image of God, what is the offspring going to be? God. This is what your churches do not teach you.They think you’re going to float around in heaven. The minute you die, you go zoop up to heaven and you float around on a cloud somewhere doing nothing for all eternity, watching your loved ones down below on earth, go through all kinds of trials and torment and murders and just one awful thing after another. It doesn’t sound like heaven’s going to be very fun when you see all the tragedies happen to the people you care about that you left behind.That’s not what happens. That’s not what the Bible says happens. When you die, I’m sorry, but you’re dead.And you go into a grave and you are not aware of anything. You have no thoughts. The Bible’s clear on that.And you pass away, you’re dead, you’re buried, and your body is sitting in a ground rotting away, turning back into dust and dirt. But someday, at the voice of Jesus Christ, upon his return, 1 Corinthians 15, read it. Upon Christ’s return, on the day of judgment, on the day he returns to this earth at the last trump of the bugle, the dead in Christ will rise to be immortal.They will become born again gods. And that is your future if you are a Christian. So again, we go back to this Halloween holiday about the things that we do and why we do it.We do it because it’s a tradition. We do it because our parents did it. We do it because we think it’s good for our kids to go around trick-or-treating and dress up as ghosts and goblins.

And we see nothing wrong with it. You know, our forefathers, the people that wrote the Constitution, for example, the people that wrote the Declaration of Independence, do you think they followed Halloween? No, they did not follow Halloween. The Puritans especially outlawed such celebrations because they saw the pagan roots of Halloween and the evilness.You don’t invite evil into your home. You don’t invite, contrary to what the Democrats want you to do, you don’t invite 10 million illegal aliens that were criminals, half of them, into this country thinking that you’re going to be safe. That’s why we have the crime that we do.But going to another subject, a little off of Halloween here, going to another subject of why we do what we do, that is the problem of the American and the Western mind right now. Our mindset is anti-God. It’s actually pro-Satan.It’s pro-Satanism. We don’t realize that, but it is. We have people who sincerely believe, and I’m not talking about our political leaders who are just corrupt to the to the nth degree, but we have people who vote for the Democrats, who will vote for Kamala Harris, thinking that it is a Christian thing to do to open our borders to criminals from other countries, to do away with the law.And why should they think so? They go to a church, I guarantee you, they go to a church that says Jesus did away with the law and the cross, that he did away with the Ten Commandments. He did away with the Sabbath day, which he did not. He did away with the laws of Moses. He did not. You can read the Bible from one end to the other, and you will see that Christ forgives us for breaking the law. He doesn’t say that we can continue to break the law. When he forgave the woman caught in adultery, and he said, woman, where are your accusers? And she said, there is none. He said, well, I do not accuse you. And he forgave her of her sin of adultery, right? But what was his final words to that woman? Do you remember? Go and sin no more.He didn’t go and sin away because I did away with the law. You can screw anybody you want to, because we don’t follow Mosaic law anymore. We don’t follow the Ten Commandments, which says thou shall not commit adultery.He didn’t say that, did he? No. He said, go, I do not condemn you either. So he forgave her, but go and sin no more.There is one biblical definition of sin in the entire Bible. There’s only one place where the Bible says sin is. Why don’t you write in a search engine, the Bible, sin is, question mark, and push return.I haven’t done it, but I guarantee you, I know what’s going to come up. One John, the first epistle of John, and it’s going to say, sin is the transgression of the law. Sin is not doing something that God doesn’t want you to do, or sin isn’t doing things against Christ.No, sin is breaking the Ten Commandments. Sin is the transgression or the breaking of the law of God. It doesn’t sound to me that Christ stood away with any law, because there is no definition of sin.

If the law has been done away with and lawlessness prevails, then there is no sin. What Christ did when he came and died for us on the cross, he came to take away not the law, but he came to take away the penalty of breaking the law. When you break the law, the penalty is death.All lawbreakers earn a wage, according to the Bible. The wages of sin, sin is lawlessness, is death. So you work really hard trying to sin your whole life, and what you earn for that, instead of your paycheck or your 401k, you earn death.And so Christ came not to do away with the law, but to do away with the penalty of the law. He came away that his death is greater than all the creation of the entire universe. And so when he died, it was greater than any bull being slaughtered on an altar somewhere.His blood sprinkled on the altar in heaven for our sins does away for our sins, and we are forgiven if we take it. Again, in that same epistle of John, or letter, epistle just means letter of John, one John, he says, if we say we have no sin, no lawlessness in us, we make him to be a liar because we all sin. But if we confess our sin, John goes on to say, he is true to forgive those And that’s why Christ came to die.He did not come to replace Satan the devil at that time. He came to earn the right to replace the devil by never sinning, proving that a human being can live an entire physical life and never sin. And knowing the weakness of mankind, man is weak, knowing our weaknesses, God is true to forgive our sins when we ask him to.But I wanted to get on to why we do what we do, because it’s not just Halloween, my friends, it’s Christmas. Why do we follow Christmas? Because we think we’re going to put Christ into Christmas. Well, Christ doesn’t belong in Christmas.That’s simple. Christmas is another pagan holiday. And then we go to Easter.Oh, that’s the day Christ rose from the dead. No, it’s not. It’s the day Tammuz rose from the dead.Just do a little bit of research with your own brain that God gave you and look up the origins of Easter. We don’t even give it a good name. Christmas has Christ in it, Christ mass. That’s what Christmas is. The real name for Christmas, by the way, is Saturnalia. It’s a pagan holiday of the sun God. But anyway, we go to Easter. The Christians today don’t even change the name. They don’t call it Resurrection Day or something like that, or First Fruits. No, they call it Easter. Where does Easter come from? Well, it comes from the goddess Astarte. And the Germanic form of Astarte is Esther, or Easter, as English people would call it.So we even keep the pagan name on Easter. On Easter. So let’s go into Easter just one second to show why we do what we do.

What foods do God command us not to eat for our own good? It’s actually a sin to eat certain foods. Do you know that? Well, one of those foods is shellfish. One of those foods that you’re not to eat is skinned fish like shark or swordfish.But one of the main things that God tells you is an abominable thing to eat is pork. You are not to eat any pork. You’re not even supposed to touch a pig, for that matter.I guess you shouldn’t even have pigskin pocketbooks. But anyway, pork, ham. Many people do not know this, and I can’t believe it, but many people that I’ve come across, especially in the South, have no concept that ham is pork.But anyway, they’ll say, I don’t eat pork. Yeah, but this is ham. Well, it comes from a pig.Yeah. Well, that’s pork. Oh.So we go to Easter. I got a question for you. What is the meal that people have for Easter? You know, Christmas time, most people have a goose.Well, God says you can eat a goose. A goose is a clean animal to eat. A duck, a goose, a chicken.But what is the meal that we have for Easter Sunday dinner? What is that meal? I would say nine out of ten times, unless you’re probably a Greek church that many times on their Easter has lamb, which would be more amenable to God if you’re going to paganize, try to Christianize a pagan holiday, at least eat foods that God says you can eat. But no, Western civilization, especially in America, the food that we have at Easter time is an Easter ham, you know, pork. The stuff that God says is an abomination to eat.God also says in Ezekiel, by the way, that following Easter is an abomination. You can find that. I have that in other places.But you go to the book of Ezekiel, and you go to the part where Ezekiel is told to go into the innermost part of the temple and see where the people are praying to the sun, and they’re bowing and worshiping the sun as it rises in the east. Sunrise worship service. And what does God say about this sunrise worship service for the pagan god Tammuz? Because the women are weeping for Tammuz, Ezekiel says.

Well, you look a little further and do some research, and you find out that Tammuz is a god child who was killed by a wild boar who came back to life again and became God again, like a paganized version of Christianity. And he was killed by a boar. And so his symbol in the food that you eat in honor of Tammuz, that woman we were weeping for in Ezekiel, that what the pagans did on their Easter Sunday was to eat pork, ham, to show that Tammuz defeated the wild boar that killed him.It’s just, you can’t make this stuff up. We, 3,000 years after the original Easter Sunday dinner, follow what the pagans do. We can’t follow what God says to do on God’s holidays.We find those too ancient, and good thank God Jesus did away with them. But for some reason, Jesus didn’t decide to do away with all these pagan holidays that we have Christianized. Does that make sense to you? Does that make sense at all to you? Do you not realize that your churches have lied to you and deceived you? Why should you wonder? Your government for the last, I don’t know, 60, 70 years has lied to you and deceived you.We’re seeing that right now in this election. We’re seeing the evilness of the Democrat Party that want abortion on demand, even after birth. They want to have illegal aliens come.What is the result of lawlessness? We want lawlessness in our churches. We say the law has been abolished. Well, we are living through the result of lawlessness by opening your border and doing away with the law, by saying that if you don’t steal more than $900, we won’t arrest you. So you have people in stores in California with calculators telling the people how much they can steal, and when they hit close to $900, they tell them to stop. This is crazy. Well, so are your churches that say the law has been done away with.So are your churches that teach you that you should and can follow Halloween, and that Christmas is a Christ holiday, and that Easter is not pagan, even though the name for it is pagan, and they will all admit that. The real disturbing thing is most of you out there following this stuff are doing it out of tradition, and doing it because your parents did it, and doing it because you believe in your church. But the ironic thing and the immoral thing, and I think the downright evil thing, is your minister, your priest, your pastor, whatever you want to call that man of God, knows it. They learn it. Now, they may have in their mind rationalized it’s okay to do, but they do not really readily tell you that they know what the word Easter means. They know that Christ was not born on December 25th.

They know that Easter is a pagan name, and that the early New Testament church never followed anything that even resembles Easter, and that the King James version of the Bible, the original 1611, that translates the word Easter in the New Testament, it’s really Passover. It’s not even Resurrection Day. It’s Passover was translated Easter. Easter is as pagan as pagan can be, and so is Halloween. And getting back to Halloween, how can we even think that it’s okay to have a day where we teach our children it’s okay to go up to a house and use the words trick-or-treat? What is that supposed to mean? Well, it was a way—this is basically, by the way, what these Venezuelan terrorists are doing, mafia-type Venezuelan terrorists are doing in Aurora, Colorado and all over Texas, right? They’re taking over apartment houses, and they’re using intimidation to tell you, you’re going to pay me this money, or we’re going to kill you to live here, and you won’t let you live here. It’s what the mafia used to do.It’s called protection racket, right? Well, what is Halloween? You’re teaching your children to go to some house, stranger or your neighbor that you know and love, and you knock on their door and say, trick-or-treat, meaning you either give us some candy or we’re going to play a trick on you. We’re going to take a bag, which is what you used to do when I was a kid, take the bag, and they would fill it full of cow manure, and they would set it on fire. This is the truth. They would set it on fire on a porch of somebody that didn’t follow Halloween, and they’d have to come and stomp the fire out with their feet, and guess what happened? They had manure all over their feet. These are the things that were done. How many times have you read in your newspapers that on Halloween, many cities have to outlaw and have to have curfews when teenagers can be on the road or in the city streets because of the violence? These cities were being burned down back in the 70s and 80s and 90s.I don’t know about today because they’re always being burned down anyway by every other liberal cause in the world, and it’s mostly peaceful demonstrations, even though the city’s on fire, according to CNN. But anyway, back in the 60s, 70s, 80s, you used to have the night of just holy terror on Halloween night, where they set the streets on fire, they set vacant buildings on fire, and it was called Hell Night. And we think that we should celebrate this as Christians. We don’t think this is going to teach our children the wrong way of following God and actually being good in their life. We think we’re going to make good upstanding citizens out of people that are taught to threaten their neighbor, that if you don’t give them the candy they want, they’re going to do some kind of a trick on you. You don’t see a problem with that. And if you don’t see a problem with that, then you do need to vote for Kamala Harris, because this is what the Democrats are basically saying, by the way, in this whole deal about the borders and about abortion and about all these things that are spitting in the face of God and God’s laws and saying it’s the right thing to do. And if you stand up for God and you stand up for Americanism and you stand up for doing what is right for your neighbor, then they’re going to call you Hitler, and they’re going to say that you’re a Nazi. We live in opposite world.

My brother-in-law, Joe Kovacs, had a great term he coined many years ago when he said in his book Shocked by the Bible, we live in opposite world. Whatever is real, we do the opposite. And whatever is unreal, we call real. Whatever is a lie, we call the truth. Whatever is the truth, we call a lie. And so the entire world we live in this Western culture is an opposite to the plain truth, to the truth of God. And we have no problem doing it. And we wonder why we have hurricanes destroy cities and entire regions of the country. We have wildfires burning down our forest. We have all these plagues. We have droughts. We have too much rain or not enough rain. Our farmers are suffering. Our people are suffering. We have violence in the streets. We find ourselves in the same situation Sodom and Gomorrah found themselves into, and we don’t even realize it because we’re saying we’re Christians. We Christianize all these pagan holidays. And Sodom and Gomorrah didn’t do that. I guess that’s what they must be thinking in their warped mind. But the truth is that we have to get back to the basis of God. We have to get back to God’s laws and we have to get paganism out of our life. And we have to every day ask ourselves, why do we do the things that we do? If you sit there in every single thing that you do and study why you do it, and if you don’t know why you do and you say, well, I did it since I was a kid and my parents did it, then you need to find out if it’s a good thing to do or not. Many times it is a good thing to do, helping your neighbor and stuff like that. Nice traditions that people do. Thanksgiving is a great time. Thanksgiving is a biblical holiday, believe it or not. It’s not found in the Bible as Thanksgiving, but the whole idea of having Thanksgiving dinners and Thanksgiving meals to thank God for the bounty and the blessing is definitely the Bible. And when the pilgrims came up with Thanksgiving, they did so as their feast of tabernacles. That’s how they saw it. So biblical reason for Thanksgiving, but there’s not for Christmas, there’s not for Easter, and there’s definitely not one for Halloween. So again, whatever you do, whatever you find yourself really liking, study it, ask yourself, why do we do this? And you may be surprised to see that you’ve been deceived and you’re living in a world that is really Satan’s world and not God’s world. And God wants you to live under his laws in his world.
