The Plain Truth is so Happy That You Have Been Enjoying Bob’s Broadcasts.
2000 years ago, a newscaster that we know of as Jesus Christ warned us about false Christianity. The warning was not against the devil but against false Christianity…about people who come in His name and deceive many.

Hello, Bob Barney with The Plain Truth Today, brought to you by The Plain Truth. It’s a 7-Eleven short. This day, if you go to the main page, you will see a story by Michael David Lynch, who happens to be a big Trump supporter.
You would have to say he’s a MAGA Trump supporter, but maybe because I had sent him an email recently really blasting some of his ever-Trumper views, he came out today with a story, which you can read, where he kind of blasts Donald Trump with his Mideast peace trip…specifically for taking the jet from Qatar and also, as top of that, just making deals with the Saudis, with the UAE, and with Syria, giving them ease of their sanctions. And he actually did a good job by pointing out that although he believes in Donald Trump, as I do, and though he believes that Donald Trump is trying to do good, but he thinks this is a big mistake. And he said he just had to do something about, or say something about, what was going on, and that he just had to stand up for what was right, something that I am really upset with.
Many of the Republicans in Congress who are just blindly going along with anything Donald Trump is doing, if it’s right or wrong, and they won’t speak up. And it reminds me of the story in the third chapter of the book of John, when Nicodemus, a Pharisee and a member of the Sanhedrin, the ruling council of the Jewish people of the time, came to Jesus by night. And the reason he came to Jesus by night is clear. He didn’t want to be seen by his cohorts in the Sanhedrin in fear of what they would do to him and his position. It kind of reminds me of the Republicans today, and Jesus realizing that, and that’s the famous born-again statement.
What I wanted to get to is this idea of the ruling class in the time of Jesus, this is a good way to bring something, the Bible alive, and in my opinion, about what did the Pharisees know, what did the Sanhedrin and the Sadducees know at the time about what Jesus was doing.
When he came to Jesus by night, he said, we know, you notice he says we, meaning the Sanhedrin, know that you are from God because no one could do the miracles that you’re doing unless God is with him. Now I’m not saying Donald Trump is God here. What I’m trying to say is that the Pharisees knew, the Sadducees knew, the rulers of the Jewish people at the time of the Roman occupation, and Rome was a lot like, I would have to say, the British Commonwealth when they conquered all places like India and China and places like that. The English allowed local rule for the most part, and only the major things like wars and taxes and things like that did England overrule local rule. And the Romans did the same thing. They realized if you’re going to conquer people, it’s best to let the middle class and the upper class rule their own people, and you’ll have a lot more peace that way.
So the Pharisees and the Sadducees that made up the leadership of the Jewish people knew that Jesus Christ was from God, but they went along with his crucifixion and his death, even though they knew he was the Messiah. That is clear when you read the third chapter of John. So what does this mean about modern Republicans, modern day people that are ever-Trumpers, that are allowing Trump to make mistakes that they know is wrong, but they sit there and say they’re okay, they’re behind him, and stuff like that? It’s the same thing going back to these leaders of the Jewish people when Jesus was alive. Even though they knew he was the Messiah, even they knew that they also really relished the power and the prestige and the money they were able to make by the Roman government being in control and ruling the people. Now, the people themselves were under harsh treatment by both the Jewish leaders and the Roman government, but because they had a good, cushy life, they wanted to keep the status quo, and they wanted to support the evil Roman Empire, even though it wasn’t good for the common Jewish person living in the land at the time. It’s much like the leadership today. They are more worried about themselves and what is their future, but what’s best for them more than what’s best for the American people or people around the world. And in the time of Jesus, these people were willing to sacrifice their Messiah in order to keep their power. They knew exactly what they were doing, and that’s why Jesus said all the sins of the world would be put on that generation’s leadership on Judgment Day.
Pretty damning remark by Jesus concerning the leadership of the Jews of the day.
My take is, it is our duty to speak up and tell the plain truth whenever it is in front of us. If it’s something we don’t want to say or not, we are not to hold back. God wants us to explain the absolute reality of every situation. When someone’s doing right, we’re to tell them they’re doing right. And when somebody’s doing wrong, we’re to tell them they’re doing wrong. The Jewish leaders did not want to do that. They did not want to support Jesus, even though they did know he was the Messiah. They choose their good life at the time rather than to listen to what Jesus was saying and obey him, their Messiah. And it’s a good point here. Their present situation of making money and having a good life under the Roman occupation was more important than God.
And that is what the plain truth is about.
That is what I’m about.
I’m going to tell you what I think anyway, and I think I can prove most of the time from the Bible what God stands for. And we are not to make excuses when people, even the people we love or the people we respect, go against God’s wishes.
King David went against God’s wishes with Bathsheba, and he had to be called out by the prophet Nathan. When Nathan gave him the example of how David sinned and David didn’t know it was him, he was talking about and said, that man should surely die. And Nathan said, David, you are that man. It’s time we have people that stands up and tells the truth to Donald Trump and to make sure he does the right thing. I don’t think everything he’s done in the Middle East is bad, by the way. I think we have to make some kind of reproachment. But the idea that Donald Trump is going to find peace in the Middle East, as many people now are trying to promote all over the websites and the TV shows, is not going to happen. I did a first article for the Plain Truth, why the Middle East is always going to be in your future, and it will always be in your future.
Donald Trump is not going to bring peace to the Middle East.
Jesus Christ, upon His return as King of Kings and Lord of Lords, is the only one that’s going to bring peace to the Middle East. If you want to know the future, read your Bible, don’t listen to the news, don’t listen to people who are going to make up stories because they’re living a cushy life. Rather, listen to God, read the Bible for yourself, don’t just listen to me, and understand that it is God who’s bringing peace to the world and to the Middle East, and not a moment sooner.
People will sell out their souls, as the Pharisees and the Sadducees did, in order to have their cushy life in this life, not realizing they’re thrown away their chance for an eternal life that is promised to those who obey.
This is Bob Barney for the Plain Truth today, and I’m begging anyone who’s listening, always keep your focus on God and not man. Thank you for listening. We’ll be back at noontime for the Friday wrap-up. Bye-bye.
