A week ago, we played a short story for our Saturday night program about the book of Amos and it was just paraphrasing what Amos stood for and it was a very, very good short story but it was also a very good Bible lesson about Amos who was a prophet, really, for the United States of America. And if you go to an easy, easy translation, something like the Good News translation or the New Living Bible or the Old Living Bible, for example. Very good, easy to understand thing and you

0:32can understand this about when you read the book of Amos and if you just put America in for the word Israel. Whenever you see when he’s talking against Judah, put in the Jewish nation and the Jews in general and you will understand what God has against the Jewish nation and the Jews in general. But of America, of Israel, which we will call America, I’ll go through some verses here and understand how they parallel the life we’re in today, in the nation

1:06we’re living in. Listen, this is your doom. It is the Lord, and it spoke, I’m sorry, it is spoken by the Lord, the Lord of both of Israel or America and the Jewish nation. I’m the one that brought you out of Egypt. Of all the peoples of this earth, I have chosen you alone. that is why I will punish you more than all for all your sins than the rest of the world the alarm has sounded listen and fear for I the Lord am sending disaster to your land but as always first of all I will always warn you through my prophets and

1:40now I have done so I have I the lion have roared and the tremble of fear is among all of you soon. The Lord God has sounded your doom. I dare not refuse to proclaim it.” This is Amos talking. God goes on to say, listen to me you fat cows, he’s talking about the American women, you women who encourage your husbands to rob the poor and crush the needy, you who never have enough to drink yourself, the Lord has sworn by His holiness that the time will come when He will put hooks in your noses and lead you away like cattle that

2:13you are, and they will drag you off to distant lands on the ends of fish hooks. Go ahead and sacrifice to your idols and when you follow Christmas, Easter, Halloween, and pagan holidays like that, you’re doing the same thing as following the pagan shrines and idols that you read about here and that happened in the Old Testament time. I sent you hunger, says the Lord, but it did no good. You would not return to me. I ruin your crops by the rain, month after month. I send

2:45rain to the city, but not another city. And I did this to try to get you to change your mind, God says, but we did not change our mind. So therefore I will bring upon you all these further evils that I have spoken of. Got to think about all this bad weather we’re going through. People want to blame global warming, but does it have more to do with God than global warming? I think it does. The stench of death was terrible to smell and yet you refused to come. I destroyed some of your cities as I did

3:14Sodom and Gomorrah. We all know what happened to Sodom and Gomorrah. Therefore I will bring upon you all these further evils that I spoke of. Prepare to meet your God, O Injudgment, O Israel, O America. For you are dealing with the one who formed the mountains, made the winds, and knows your every thought.

3:36He turns the morning to darkness and crushes down the mountain underneath his feet. Yahweh, the Lord, the Lord Almighty, is his name. And that Lord Almighty, by the way, is none other than the God we know of as Jesus Christ that came and died for your sins. Not God the Father. Don’t seek the idols that you seeked in your former life,” meaning the Estherite pole or the Easter pole, talking about the pagan holidays we have today that we have so-called Christianized. Seek the Lord, he says, and live or else he will sweep you like a fire. O evil men,

4:48you make justice a bitter pill for the poor and oppressed. Seek him who created the seven stars in the constellation Orion, who turns darkness into morning. His name is the Lord Yahweh. With binding speed and violence, He brings destruction to the strong, breaking all of their defenses. Oh, how you hate honest judges, how you despise the people who tell the truth, the plain truth. You trample the poor and steal their smallest crumb by all your taxes, your fines, your usury, that’s interest

5:24rates, and your tariffs, you could say. Therefore you will never live in the beautiful stone houses that you are building, nor drink the wine from the lush vineyards you’re planting. For many and great are your sins. I know them all so well. You are the enemies of everything good. You take bribes. Do our leaders not take bribes? We know everybody in leadership roles are corrupt today. You refuse justice to the

5:48poor. Everybody knows if you go to court poor, you’re probably going to prison if you did crime or not. The court system is made for wealthy people to get away with things. Therefore those who are wise will not interfere with the Lord by the dread of your punishment. Be good, flee evil, and live. Then the Lord, the Lord Almighty, will truly be your helper as you claim he is. Hate evil and love good, and that’s something that we’re not doing today. We’re really worshipping evil people and

6:19looking up to people that are not good. Remodel your courts to be true halls of justice. Perhaps yet the Lord God of hosts will have mercy on the people that are not good. 6:46God of the Bible is the God of today’s news. He is the God that brings you the good weather and the bad weather. He’s the God that brings you COVID-19 or spares you from COVID-19. He is the God that is in control of this world and yes, as I’ve said many times before, He has allowed the world to go its own way, but He still controls things. He still controls the destiny of the rich, the famous, and the poor alike. And that God is Jesus Christ and God the Father. And we are just conning ourselves when we think we’re so righteous, but we do not

7:21obey what God tells us to do so plainly in his holy word called the Bible. And it goes on to say, therefore the Lord God says there will be crying in all the streets and in every road. Call for the farmers to weep. Call for the professional mourners to wail and lament. There will be sorrow and crying in every vineyard that I pass to destroy. You’ll say, if only

7:45the day of the Lord were here now, for then God would deliver us from our foes. But you have no idea what you are even asking, for that day will not be a light and prosperous for you, but it will be darkness and doom. How terrible the darkness will be for you, not a ray of joy or hope.” How many people today that go to church on Sunday and who say that they’re Christians and who preach God to you and Jesus loves you and all of this stuff, who’s looking forward, they tell you,

8:14I can’t wait until the day of the Lord. Well, they don’t even know what they’re talking about because they’re gonna be there, they’re not gonna be raptured away to heaven like they teach people. That’s a lie. It’s just a bone-faced lie. They’re going to be, the Christians that are alive, going to go through this tribulation and they’re going to be targeted because they are of Christ and they’re going to be tortured for Christ. Now there are going to be those who are weaker than others that God’s people protect them. The

8:40church will ultimately be protected in these times of tribulation, but it’s going to be tough times for all. Any Christian alive at that time is going to go through hell. They may be protected by God or others that God puts there to protect them, especially the weaker ones. The stronger ones will be martyred. Christ makes it clear that they will be martyred. So we go on and where God says, I hate your show and pretense, your hypocrisy of honoring me

9:12with your religious feasts and solemn assemblies. I will not accept your offerings and your thank offerings. I will not look at your offerings of peace. Away with your hymns of praise. they are just noise to my ears. I will not listen to your music, no matter how lovely you think it is. I want to see a mighty flood of justice, a torrent of doing good, says the Lord. You sacrificed to me for those 40 years while you’re in a desert, but always your real interest

9:40has been on your heathen gods, the gods of the sun, the stars, and the moon, the gods that are made up and not real, says the Lord God Almighty. Woe to those who lounge in luxury, so famous and popular among the people. Go over to the badlands of Africa and see the people suffering there and that’s how you will be suffering very soon. Now you lie on ivory beds surrounded with luxury eating the choicest meat from the tenderest lambs, the choicest calves. You sing idle songs, you drink wine by the bucketful and perfume yourself with

10:20sweet ornaments, carrying nothing of your brothers who need help and money. Therefore you will be the first taken as slaves and suddenly all of your friendship and fun I’m sorry, funship will end. Yahweh, the Almighty Lord has sworn by his own name, I despise the pride and the false glory of America and hate their beautiful homes. I will turn over this land to every one of her enemies that she is in fear of. If there

A man’s uncle will be the only one left to bury him and when he goes to carry his body from the house he will ask, the one still alive are there any others left and the answer will be no yes my friends by the way I’ll take a break here and just say this is in your Bible this is in the book of Amos and Amos is written for our day and beyond it’s not written for the back 2,400 years ago, it’s written for the end times and the nation that God is the

11:27most upset in the end times is His own special people. The United States of America, France, Denmark, England, Ireland, Scotland, Australia, these are the people of Israel that went into captivity some 2,700 years ago and now are in a chance of great wealth. They have wealth all over the place and we are spending our wealth on idolatry and on greed and on everything that God abhors. And we are going to pay the fiddler and that is what this book of Amos is all about

12:06and why I put it on for a Saturday night novel or book because it’s so well reading. God goes on and says, I will test my people with a plumb line. I will no longer turn away from punishing them. The idol altars, the temples of Israel, will be destroyed and I will destroy the dynasty of their leaders. And God goes on to say, listen to you merchants, you know, the big businesses, the Walmarts, the targets of this land, who robbed the poor, trampling on the needy, who long for the Sabbath to end,

12:40for that matter, they don’t even want to have a Sabbath, and religious holidays to be over so they can get back cheating people again, using their scales that do not weigh accurately with undersized measuring. The Lord, the pride of Israel, has sworn, I won’t forget your deeds. The land will tremble as it awaits doom and everyone will mourn. It will rise up like a river, like the

13:05River Nile at flood time and sink again. At that time I will make the sun go down at noon and darken the earth in the daytime.” We’re talking about the great and terrible day of the Lord which is right before Jesus Christ returns. This is not happening in the next few years, I just want to make that clear now. But we should be prepared that it could still happen in our lifetime depending on our

13:28age. I will turn your parties into times of mourning, your songs of joy to be cries of despair. You will wear funeral clothes and shave your heads as signs of sorrow. The time is surely coming, says the Lord, when I will send a famine on the land, not a famine of bread or water, but the hearing of God’s Word.” I’m afraid that that time is now, that that famine of God’s Word is now. We listen to people of God and they quote a scripture here and a scripture there, but

14:04their hearts are so far away from the heart of God and they quote a scripture here and a scripture there, but their hearts are so far away from the heart of God that they lead their people astray. They sit there and they tell people to come to church on Sunday morning and they sit there and they talk about how great everything is going to be, how God loves them and God will forgive everything they do if they don’t even want to change their ways. God loves homosexuals. God loves sinners, adulterers, murderers, thieves. Well, God doesn’t love them. He wants to love them. He wants to forgive

14:36them because everyone falls short. Everyone’s a sinner. All you have to do is read any part in the Bible and you realize that we’re all sinners. The difference is, are you going to admit you’re a sinner or are you going to say, I do what I do because it’s me and God loves me the way I am? Well, if you want to see God very mad at you, have that attitude and see what happens. If not in this lifetime, on the great judgment day, where there will be, as Jesus says in the King James Version, gnashing of teeth and a lot of wailing.

15:10And a lot of people are going to be so surprised when they awaken from their death, didn’t go to heaven, then they didn’t go to hell, they were sleeping in a grave, and they awaken and they find out that the world is another thousand years older under Christ’s reign and they missed it. They weren’t there for that because they did not make it and now they’re in the great general resurrection where they have to be judged by what they did and how good of people they were instead of not being judged by being faithful to God when they were a

15:46human being on this earth, and when they resurrect from the dead have been totally forgotten in the spiritual same form as Jesus Christ and God the Father, their children, and then, therefore, they have no worry of another death, a second death, or any harm, or any punishment, or any physical pain, or hunger, or thirst, or famine, anything. They’ve made it through it all because they listened to God and they obeyed. The purpose of this show is not to browbeat you. I am as bad off as any sinner has ever been. I’ve

16:25done everything wrong that could be done wrong myself, but I am honest enough with my God to go to God and admit my false, and I do believe you can find this in Scripture quite easily if you want to. God forgives those who ask them, but God does not forgive those who do not ask. There are so many people who call themselves Christians today, they have a smug attitude that they are forgiven no matter what they do, and they don’t even ask for forgiveness. There’s

17:00many of them that don’t even think they sin at all, but everything they do is righteous, and the self-righteousness of their smiling faces will disappear on that great judgment day. Well, I don’t want to see that happen to anybody, neither does God. God has instilled in me, I guess, a caring for everyone else, too. I don’t want to see children suffering in Africa. I don’t want to see children suffering in Africa. I don’t want to see kids starving to death. I watch these commercials of kids in St. Jude’s

17:29or the Shriners hospitals where these little kids are dying of cancer and they look horrible. Some of them are still trying to smile, but their lives are destroyed. Their mother and father’s lives basically are destroyed. I don’t like to see that happen, but it happens because God is turning his back on this nation, and disease is rampant, and problems are going to just increase, and we can stop it as a people. And if we don’t stop it

18:03as a people, we can stop it individually. We can go to God individually and say, I want to do what you want me to do. Show me what to do. There’s a book in the Bible that says, those who seek me diligently will find me.” If you really put your heart at trying to find the living God, the God who died for you, who loves you with all his heart, He and the Father God, if you want to find that God, seek Him diligently.

18:38He is not seeking you diligently. He really is in a way, but He’s not going to go out of his way because he wants to see a spirit coming from us. He wants to see what we are made out of. Do we want to go to God with our hat in hand and not as a proud arrogant idiot that thinks that God is gonna love us no matter what we are and what we do? Or are we gonna go to God and, as Jesus gives the example of the two people at the temple, one is a Pharisee who says, I tithe twice a week and I’m so happy that I’m not like this

19:15sinner over here. I tithe and I fast and I do everything that I’m supposed to do because I’m so self-righteous. And Jesus talks about the sinner who doesn’t even look up to heaven and he says, oh Lord, forgive me because I am a sinner and I’m not worthy of anything. And Jesus says that man went home justified with God the Father, not the former. We have to learn that we can go to God, there is nothing you have ever done in your life, nothing. You have never did the unpardonable sin, and if you think you

19:52ain’t afraid you’d have, that means you haven’t. You have nothing to fear but God. The only thing we need to fear, really, and I fear all kinds of things. I suffer from panic attacks. I have all kinds of fears. I’m not the person to look up to. I’ll tell you that right now. I am just giving a message as a newscaster. I am not a priest. I am not an evangelist. I am not a church, and I’m probably not a very good man of God. But I have studied God for some 47 years

If you don’t think that’s an arrogant attitude to God, then you’re gonna have a real bad lesson coming into your life or the life to come. But if you go to God with a humble spirit and you’re afraid of what’s gonna happen to you and you think you can’t be saved, you think God will not forgive what you have done, you’re wrong. God can forgive anything that anyone has ever done. God has the power

21:31to change your life. You seek him diligently as only a sign that you’re willing to do the work. And once you show that sign, it’s not by your strength that you’re going to change your life, it’s not by your strength that you’re gonna change your life. It’s not by your might, not by your great character, that you’re gonna live a better godly life.

21:54No, it’s by the Spirit of God who will have sympathy for you and light your fire and light you up and make you what you don’t think you can be and make you a person that you only wished you could be when you watched that kind of a person in the movies and you say I wish I was like that. Well, God can make you like that. God can turn a rock into a prophet, so the Bible says.

22:23God can make you into anything you want to be if it’s in God’s will and you care about God’s will. But if you go on living the life you want to live, doing the things you want to do and putting God’s name on it and saying, God’s does I have a problem with it? Then you’re got a problem. And this broadcast is here to try to enlighten you that you have a problem. You’re gonna wake up. If you are a homosexual living in homosexual sin, you’re probably gonna wake up there a week from today in the same sin. But maybe you’ll feel guilty for a long time to come that you hadn’t felt before

23:59because you thought God loved you the way you were. Well, God did not. And now, if you are trying to please God, God will give you the strength to be able to change your life. It may take your whole lifetime, but God will do so. God will probably do it quicker than that, probably quicker than you can believe. And if you’re an adult or don’t think you’re any better, if you’re sleeping around with a lot of men or a lot of women and you think because you’re heterosexual you’re any better, if you’re sleeping around with a lot of men or a lot of women, and you think because you’re heterosexual,

24:25you’re better than any homosexual, well, you’re gonna be awful surprised to find out that the same penalty for any sin is the same penalty. The penalty, or the money you earn for sinning is what your wages are, you wanna hear this?

24:41The wages of sin is death. If you break the Sabbath, it’s the death penalty. If you rob from someone, it’s the death penalty. If you break the third commandment of God and use his name in vain, it’s the death penalty. If you’re a homosexual, it’s the death penalty. If you’re an adulterer, it’s the death penalty. You get the point? You’re living under a death penalty and there’s only one name on heaven and earth that can save you from that death penalty. There is a pardon, a pardon a lot better than Donald Trump or any president could give anybody.

25:15It’s a pardon by Jesus Christ, by his blood, to wipe away your sins. And all you got to say is I want it and I will do everything you give me the strength to do and don’t think you’re gonna have that strength in your own because you’re not. You’re gonna fail miserably and every time you try you’re gonna fail again. But eventually you’re gonna stop failing because God’s power is stronger than Satan’s and God’s power will wrestle you back to what you want to be if you want to be

25:46with God. And that is the good news. That is the good news of your Bible. That is the good news of the news today. All the newspaper headlines and all the TV news headlines should read this. The good news is Christ is coming back to save us from ourselves and to put wrong right and to make everything better again and to save those who thought they were lost. And that is the good news. And it can happen for you.

26:16It can happen for this whole nation. And I pray to this day that this nation turns to God, turns to God and say, we want to change what’s going on here and turn against these leaders of ours who are evil. That’s what they are. They’re evil. They’re no better than the people that you’re reading about here in the book of Kings and Chronicles and Amos and Isaiah and Jeremiah. We’re talking about the crooked leaders, the kings who are

26:41idolaters and absolute thieves and rob the poor. That is what we have leading us today. And maybe if we collectively as a nation, more than 50 percent of us maybe, go to God and ask for national forgiveness, maybe we get our country back. We become the dominant nation of the world again, lending to the rest of the world and not borrowing from the rest of the world. There was a time when America lent to the world, not borrowed from the world. There was a time when we led by our example of good works,

27:17not by our example of a fist and a bomb and an airplane. Think about it. But if the country don’t come back, there’s no excuse. You still can come back. You go to God, go to God in prayer, seek diligently for that God, and God will find you and God will save you in this life or the life to come. And that is the good news and that is what this program is all about. To bring you the true news that means something to you. The news that’s much more important than any headline you’re gonna read tomorrow in the New York Times.

27:53That headline is, you can be God. Because that’s the ultimate purpose of God. God is reproducing themselves and we are made in their image to become God, if we want to be.
