  • Hi, Bob Barney for The Plain Truth Today, brought to you by theplaintruth.com
  • Welcome to another edition of the Friday Wrap-Up with Bob Barney. Had to be a pretty boring week for most people I guess, but not for me anyway. I always try to find the news behind the news to try to give you a wrap-up of things you probably haven’t heard about. But you know when you watch CNBC and they’re talking about sports and they have a guy on from some company auctioning off his underwear for charity then you know you’re in a pretty bad
  • 0:34 news week. Or the press as I mentioned in my what was it Thursday show or I forgot what show it was now. the press just not there anymore. They just don’t have a clue what is real news anymore. But the stories I wanted to get to this week and we’ll go through them and then we’ll go over our Friday wrap-up for the weekend, but the flood story is still lingering because it just seems to me that there has to start to be an investigation into the local leaders
  • 1:10and the decisions that were made about building so much homes and campsites and recreation areas on a river that seems to me, with a little bit of research, has had a history of flash floods, tidal waves coming down. You think of tidal waves in the ocean, but every time you hear one of these tragedies on that river, you hear about this 25 or 35-foot tidal wave coming down the river like a wave. Most of the time you have a flash flood. You might have a very fast wave coming
  • 1:44that’s three or four feet high, but most of the time a flash flood takes two or three or four hours and the river just keeps rising and rising and rising and rising to a point where people can’t get out. They waited too long and they unfortunately died. But it’s usually in a graduated type pace where most people can get out. That’s why you don’t have 200 or 300 people dying in the average flash flood.
  • 2:10And even in that Guadalupe River, you didn’t have that in 1987 when 10 children camping there at a religious campground perished when a flash flood went through. But this particular flash flood, and I heard the same thing in 1987, I didn’t hear it with that 1992 flood they had which was pretty darn frightening in its own right, but people were saying they could see a 30 foot wave of water. It’s like a tidal wave in an ocean coming like we saw, what was it,
  • 2:47 15 years ago or whatever, hitting the Thailand, I think it was, where all those people died. 100,000, 150,000 people were killed with that tidal wave. Well, they said a tidal wave was coming down this river, and that is just unheard of, in my opinion. And then you find out that happened in 1987 similar to that. Why wasn’t there a hundred people, 200 people, 300 people killed in 1987? Well the answer seems to be there was very
  • 3:15little people, very few people living on that river or having camps on that river or recreational camps on that river because the river was a known floodplain and therefore the local people at the time kind of restricted what you could build there and who could be there. But what happens is, and now the Donald Trump FEMA is being blamed for something that is not their fault, what happened with the last 15-20 years is local people obviously kept asking FEMA to remove many of the flood areas that FEMA had declared was flood plain areas. And they wanted
  • 3:52FEMA to remove those so they could what? Build on those lands, or put campgrounds on those lands, or put houses on those lands. You know, if you put your house on the sand, Jesus Christ said it’s probably going to wash away. If you put your house next to the ocean, you know, 25 feet away from the ocean, good chance it’s probably someday going to wash away. If you put your house on a river that’s known to flood four times
  • 4:18its normal height, and you’re on the river, you’re probably going to watch your house and maybe yourself
  • 4:24wash away. And so the idea that everybody seems to be surprised and you’re on the river, you’re probably going to watch your house and maybe yourselves wash
  • 4:25away. And so the idea that everybody seems to be surprised and wants to blame the federal government over this disaster, I think it’s the media once again not doing their jobs and asking the really tough question, why did the local authorities keep wanting FEMA to lift restrictions of what was the floodplain and what was not the floodplain on a river that had a history of these types of floods? The only reason you didn’t have the deaths that you had
  • 4:55was you didn’t have the number of people there. And at this particular time, it was July 4th, so you had probably five times the number of people there that you normally would anyway. So probably if it happened on July 17th, so you had probably five times the number of people there that you normally would anyway. So probably if it happened on July 17th, like when the first one happened, July 13th it was, I believe, when the first one happened in 1987, and even today you probably wouldn’t
  • 5:17have had more than maybe 80, 100 people there in trouble. Think about that for a second. And all I’m saying is we have to look within. The next subject I want to talk about is, I don’t know where you’re living and I don’t know how the weather is where you’re living, but I have a brother that lives in Connecticut, I have a brother that lives in Florida, I have like a brother, Joe Kovacs, who lives in Florida.
  • 5:45I have, the editor lives in Atlanta. I have many customers that live in Texas. I have a daughter that lives in Texas. I have customers that live in California, Arizona, New Mexico, Wyoming. We even have a corporation in Wyoming out of Sheridan.
  • 6:02And everyone is telling me that this year, it’s either really, really cold, really of Sheridan, and everyone is telling me that this year it’s either really, really cold, really, really hot, raining all the time, or really dry and then raining all the time. But everyone will say one thing and one thing for sure. They’ve never seen the weather this bad. And I’m not sure if that’s true because, you know, in my opinion, as you know if you listen to this broadcast very long, I am not a global warming person. That’s nonsense. But God is in control of the weather. Carbon is not in control of the weather. Global warming is not happening. In fact, there is a case to be made
  • 6:43that as a whole, global cooling is happening. You can prove that with the orange crop in Florida alone. Where is Citrus County? Well, that’s up past Orlando. That’s why, why is it called Citrus County? Because that’s where the orange groves used to be.
  • 7:01Well, why aren’t they there now? Because it’s cold there now and the Orange Groves all died in the 1950s and 60s from cold. And so the Orange Belt kept moving south. It got down below Okeechobee in the Vero Beach to the, say, Fort Myers area, I would say more like Venice, and that became the Orange Belt. When we lived in Florida,
  • 7:29there was a lot of oranges in the Indian River, you know, Indian River grapefruit, and Indian River oranges. Well, today, most of the oranges are really down, you know, west of Miami, following over to Route 75,
  • 7:45all the way over to the West Coast, and that’s where the oranges are, why? Because Florida has gotten colder over the last 40 years, not warmer. Now, we have a lot of bad weather this year, and I had a program, and I’m just gonna mention this briefly,
  • 7:59these are all brief little notes for Friday wrap-up, is God doing this to wake us up about our national sins? And if you don’t think we have national sins, and you don’t read many headlines, you don’t read about gay rights this, or transgender this, or putting American citizens in detention camps against the Bill of Rights or just one just read any papers headlines go to the Daily Mail which is kind of a trap it
  • 8:34became pretty much a trashy website for news 30% of the Daily Mail is going to be what star took her clothes off, or what star is really sexy, or what star is dating who. Another third of it’s gonna be just, you know, water cooler type stories that we put on the Plain Truth as well,
  • 8:54but not a third of the Plain Truth’s message board is just, you know, this sports guy did this, or this, just nothing news. And then they have maybe four or five good articles about something that maybe somebody’s really interested in. And because Americans have become decadent.
  • 9:12And if you don’t believe it, just go to your TV lineup when you watch these so-called reality shows. Do you really believe that naked people can be surviving without clothes? In some of the environments they show them they’re in, they’re gonna walk barefoot through snake-infested swamps.
  • 9:32My brother always likes to tell me about the time that some Navy SEAL or something like that who learned to live off the land and eat rattlesnakes if he had to was pitted against on a survival skill against a waitress or a hairdresser or something like that in New York and she wins. I mean if you think that’s real reality
  • 9:56TV you need to go back watching wrestling again because you’ll believe that too. Well that’s enough of that. We’re gonna get on to the next subject and of course, excuse me, of course that’s the Epstein affair that just does not want to go away. And now this week Trump told his former supporters, MAGA maniacs out there, to I don’t want your support. And maybe he’s gonna regret saying that someday, we’ll find out. But yesterday or the day before, maybe it was Wednesday, Maureen Comey, who is, yes, former FBI Director Comey’s daughter, who, believe it or not, was the New York prosecutor,
  • 10:38federal prosecutor, in charge of the Epstein matter. It’s just this swamp in DC is just too much with the inbreeding and you name it. The who’s who of the who’s what is in charge of everything it seems like. But anyway, the Trump people, Bondi or Trump himself, made sure she finally got fired. I mean, she the Diddy Combs trial. He got off basically scot-free, but she was given her walking papers and I don’t really have a problem with that, to tell you the truth. I have a lot of problems when I see selective firings and what’s going on in general with
  • 11:19this Epstein matter because I really believe that the only way you’re going to put this out is to, first of all, explain to the public that there is a court ruling that you can’t name names of people who are not being indicted or investigated for any crime, first of all. And if you’re gonna probably laugh at me when I say this, but if you were flying on his airplane and many rich people fly on everybody else’s airplane, it just happens. And so if you were just, you know, it was revealed that you were on his airplane, now all of a sudden the people out there who believe in the conspiracy theory, and
  • 12:00 I somewhat do, I don’t believe Jeffrey Epstein killed himself, I’ll just tell you that right now. I’m not sure that Deep State is what killed him. I think they helped along and covered it up but I think a lot of people wanted Epstein dead and I believe that’s where the story is and somehow it’s gonna be really hard for the Trump people to get it out, especially if a lot of people that support them and maybe some of them have problems with the Epstein thing. So we’ll just get off that one. But the next
  • 12:30thing I do want to give a different kind of a story, a Friday wrap-up, because this week someone that, unless you’re probably my age or older, you wouldn’t know this, but a very famous singer died this week, not of a drug overdose, by the way. She was 81 years old. Her name was Connie Francis. And for the younger people out there who don’t have a who, what, is, who is Connie Francis? Connie Francis is the breakthrough female singer of the rock and roll era, starting in the late 50s into the early 60s. She was the woman rock star of her
  • 13:06age. She had number one hits all over the place. She had the most recordings, I’m sorry, most sales of songs and albums in her genre. And if you would compare it to today, because back then there was a lot less Americans, a lot less people buying that kind of music, she would be the biggest superstar today in her standards of the time. And she passed away, she had a very troubled life. And it was after she became a big star, and she was at a, I believe it was a Holiday Inn,
  • 13:38which she ended up suing, but there was very little security there, and she was actually raped way back, I believe in 65 or 1971 she was still a star of note and it really affected her as it would most women I would believe very badly and She had some real
  • 13:59health crises because of that problem and but she did make it to 81 and she was a great singer. And I don’t believe she was a scandal-ridden singer like we have today. But I just want to give a tribute to Connie Francis who passed away this week. The other story of the week, of course, is Donald Trump going back after the Fed again because they won’t cut interest rates. And possibly, he doesn’t realize it right now, but if Jerome Powell cut interest rates and possibly, he doesn’t realize it right now, but if Jerome Powell did cut interest rates for Trump, it could, with this
  • 14:31latest inflation report, end up being the end of the Donald Trump administration. Runaway inflation like they had in Germany in 1928 where there was a run on the German mark and it took a what wheel barrel of money in order to buy a loaf of bread and I actually I’m a coin and small coin collector And I’d like to collect dollar bills and special kind of dollar bills and stuff like that
  • 14:56And I actually have I believe it’s a ten billion dollar bill By the Weimar Republic of Germany in the 1920s. And I also have a, I think it’s a 10 million dollar coin, one coin that was worth 10 million not dollars but marks. And that’s what happens when your dollar or your mark in Germany, when your currency goes down the tubes and nobody wants it. And that could
  • 15:23happen, and if that chases away our investors, we have a big problem.
  • I’ll be back with the rest of the stories in a minute.
  • Bob Barney here for the Plain Truth Today and theplaintruth.com, the one place you want to go every day to find out what’s happening and what it could mean to you and your family. That’s theplaintruth.com and theplaintruthtoday.com. You can get to all of our sites if you go to theplaintruth.com. Thank you very much.
  • Well another big story of the week and it’s really blowing up as of last night,
  • 15:54Thursday night, I saw it on all the news channels, is there was some photographs of some close-ups of Donald Trump’s ankles and his hand, which showed bruising on his hand, trying to be covered up with makeup, and swollen ankles the size like I was really shocked to see. And we had that mainly on the Message Board more than we had it on The Plain Truth, but it is a story. I don’t believe it’s as serious as I think probably the people on the left is going to try to make it, but I think it’s a little bit more serious than the people on the right trying to poo-poo it.
  • 16:30That is a bad problem when you have ankle swelling like that. Now at 70, what, nine years old, you would expect some of this to happen. One of the things, and I didn’t hear any doctor mention this, but one of the things that happens, and it happens to anybody, and it’s actually can be a fatal condition if you’re flying all the time and you’re always in a seat position,
  • 16:52or when you’re playing golf, you’re not walking that golf course, you’re just riding a golf cart, and you’re in a limousine all the time, and you’re riding in the limousine and you’re at the White House desk and you’re sitting at that desk. If your ankles are constantly not being worked, your legs are not being worked, it’s going to be hard for your body to pump that blood back out of your ankles
  • 17:13and that’s a problem. Also high sodium and commercial sodium, you know McDonald’s, that is also a leading factor of what causes this to happen and it’s hopefully he’s got good doctors and they can take care of that. But one of the things that would really help him is to change his diet, to get rid of commercial salt. You know, real salt is not necessarily a problem, but commercial salt is. And that’s all you have in McDonald’s and Burger Kings
  • 17:42and all this fast food or processed foods. And we do we do know he does eat too much of that. One of the things I was talking about with the Fed story before the commercial break was the latest inflation report came out and it was confusing.
  • 18:00It honestly was confusing because actually inflation went up quite drastically, the worst in five months, but core inflation actually went down a little bit. And most people worry more about core inflation than they do real inflation. I actually think real inflation is what really hurts ma and pa and brother and sister and grandchildren out there more than core inflation.
  • 18:27But anyway, that could be a sign of what’s happening with both his fight with the Fed, which I think is ill-advised, and his fight with the whole world with tariffs, because I think we’re going into a very hard summer. Not only a hot summer, not only a storm-prone summer as we can see, but a very hard summer economically. And things can collapse very quickly when you’re not really paying attention at the switch. And that’s all I can say about that. One of the things we’re going to get into about right now that we started talking about
  • 19:06a few months ago, and I think we have a story up this week, I listened to it on a YouTube video. I don’t think I put that one up yet, but the Chinese has developed a drone about the size of a mosquito. Can you believe this? The size of a mosquito. And it can go, I think, two or 300 miles an hour. And this drone can go anywhere and it takes it can bug anything it can do all kinds of harm. I had an article many years ago about drones and be prepared for drones doing assassinations of presidents and world leaders. The drone is a nemesis
  • 19:42that everybody is underplaying but it could really be a problem for security for the entire world. It’s just that’s the problem with this technology that we’re not keeping up with in defense. And we’re also seeing this, the Chinese are hacking into our federal systems. The ice Barbie out there, Kristi Noem, reported quite accurately, and she’s not exaggerating, that the Chinese could at any time they wanted to shut down our grid.
  • 20:20We have a customer, and I can’t mention his name because he’s quite powerful, in a Midwestern power company, who told my wife that if the American people knew how everyday people in the power industry go to work, and they are constantly, constantly keeping the grid up, and every day they’re worried the grid’s going to go down on them. And that’s not being reported. And that’s something that would kill millions of Americans within a week
  • 20:47or two. If we lost all power and all our grid and all our computer systems, except for what the military could do with backups, many Americans, and we had an article on this on the Plain Truth a long time ago, an EMP solar flare can cause an EMP, which would knock out the grid by the way, it doesn’t have to be China. Most likely it would be the Sun and not China. But if it happened like it happened in 1851, we had no electronics, but if it was
  • 21:16a solar spot that big, many forecasters believe 30 million Americans would die in the first two weeks. 30 million Americans would die in the first two weeks. 30 million Americans would die in the first two weeks. Think about that. And China, according to Christine Ohm, could do it to us tomorrow. So there’s another reason maybe why we should really shore up our defense systems and our computer systems. Now I’m not thinking we’re that far behind by the way. We probably could knock their grid system out too, as Israel did Iran this past 12-day war. So we probably have that technology too,
  • 121:55and China’s just trying to keep up with us. That’s my opinion, I don’t know for sure. The other story we covered this week, I’m going quickly, because there is, I think, a lot of stories that’s just under the radar that is not being covered, because you watch TV or you go to the Daily Mail. For the most part, it’s just a boring week, but it’s not really a boring week
  • 22:18when you drill down into the headlines. And the other story is the first report of that Air India crash that everybody saw the video I think a couple of weeks ago where the plane took off, a Boeing 787, and all of a sudden it looks like the engine stalled and it just gradually went back down into a building, a great big building, I think it was a hospital or something like that,
  • 22:44and killed everybody but one person. I don’t know how that one person survived that crash. Killed everybody but one person on that airplane and a lot of people also on the ground. Now it turns out that the fuel switch was shut off, both of them, and it may be even more nefarious than that because the cockpit revoke quarter shows the co-pilot saying to the captain, why did you shut off the fuel? And he said, I didn’t. But he did. And some people are now postulating the idea that the
  • 123:20captain’s mother had died 30 days earlier and he was very distraught and he committed suicide. Well I wish he could have used a shotgun and not killed 278 people on board and I don’t know how many people on the ground in order to kill himself. Those people didn’t need to be part of his suicide pact. But it looks like that could be the real answer of what caused that aircraft to go down. And it happened before.
  • 23:49I think it was a Swiss air flight that flew into the side of a mountain in the Alps. And the guy did it on purpose. When the captain went to go to the bathroom, the co-pilot, a younger guy who was despondent, locked the captain out. The voice recorder that they recovered from that crash, you could hear the captain pounding on the door trying to get in and using an axe trying to get in, but
  • 24:14the pilot, the copilot, flew into the side of a mountain and I think the biggest piece of that airplane was about one by three feet and that was it. And everybody on board died and it turned out he was despondent and there were signs that the airline should have took more carefully consideration of and a lot of people died there. So that may be the story of the Air India flight.
  • 124:42Now we also had a couple of updates about two weeks ago about that Korean crash, that Jehu flight, and it looks like they had an engine working quite well because every simulator test that they did in the research showed that the plane would not have made it back to the airport if both engines were shut off. And there is a possibility, and people are starting to wonder this now, remember those flight recorders for some mysterious reason stopped working, but it is very possible that they mistakenly turned off the good engine and did not realize that the bad engine was
  • 25:22the one they didn’t turn off and they made a terrible mistake at the last minute. And the motor you hear running was the bad engine that was given enough thrust to keep it going down the runway, but they didn’t have thrust to put on reversers. No one really knows, but that’s going to be a story I still think is going to be worked on for a long time to come. Well that’s the Friday wrap-up and there’s a few other little things that will happen this week but we’re probably covered on the Message Board or on the Plain Truth main page and maybe talk about it next Friday but
  • 25:57we want to get into the weekend shows and remember tomorrow is the Sabbath Day. Remember the Sabbath and keep it holy. That is one of the Ten Commandments that all Republicans and conservatives want nailed on the church walls, I’m sorry, the school walls and the courthouse walls, but they themselves don’t want to follow the fourth commandment, which is to observe the Sabbath day, honor it, and keep it holy. It’s a command of God. Man
  • 26:24had no right to change it to Sunday, and keep it holy. It’s a command of God. Man had no right to change it to Sunday, and we have many articles which we have, I think that’s the one we’re running tomorrow morning, how we got to the Sabbath day, you know, and it’s because the Sabbath day was too Jewish, and so Christians didn’t want to be too Jewish, so they decided to go after pagan holidays and so-called Christianize them. And tomorrow night, the 7-Eleven show
  • 26:51is gonna be like last week’s. You know, at 7-Eleven on Saturday nights, the Sabbath night, we always have either a short story, audio or video, or sometimes an old TV show, a half hour TV show. Once in a while we do show a complete movie.
  • 27:09We showed The Hiding Place, I think it was around Thanksgiving or maybe during the Days of Atonement and the Feast. I forgot when we played it, but we try to keep it to about a half hour. But last week we had the true story of Jonah,
  • 27:22and it’s somebody narrating the story of Jonah and comparing it to Jesus Christ, what Jesus Christ meant, what God has meaning for us. The story of Jonah is very deep symbolically, more deeper than most people have ever thought. And it was a very good, entertaining short story, to say the least. It was a half hour long but it was also very informative biblically about the real meaning and why the book of Jonah is in the Bible. And if you didn’t watch it you can watch it right now before tonight’s show. And
  • 27:58tonight’s show is going to be similar. We’re going to have the same narrator narrate the story of the prophet Amos. Amos is a, what they call a minor prophet, one of 12 in the Old Testament. And he is really the prophet for America today. And this person who does this video, we’re not behind this video,
  • 28:18we don’t have anything to do with him, but this person has it quite right, that this message is more for today than it is for the day that Amos was talking. And when you listen to the method of God’s purpose behind Amos and the messages Amos was giving
  • 28:36to the people of Israel, remember who we are, if you remember anything from this broadcast, whenever you see the word Israel in prophecy, it’s the United States of America, Great Britain, Canada, Australia, and the English speaking people of the world.
  • 28:51That’s what it means. And this guy does a very good job taking the book of Amos and showing how it really applies today more than it applied at his time. Great story. Then we’ll have a Sunday wrap up show,
  • 29:05a Sunday morning show at 7-11. We always try to do more of a political story kind of show, like a face the nation kind of thing. It’s usually a YouTube video that we put up, and that will be Sunday morning at 7-11 a.m. There is no other shows on Sunday.
  • 29:24Then back Monday morning, 7- AM, noontime and 711 PM, we’ll be back with the plain truth today all over again, and you’ll see me back here Monday, and I pray that every one of you have a very safe, blessed Sabbath and holiday weekend, and everyone is safe and can
  • 29:45join us back here Monday morning at 7 11 a.m. Until then, Bob Barney for the join us back here Monday morning at 7 11 a.m. Until then, Bob Barney for the Plain Truth today saying thank you for listening. Bye-bye.
