A long time ago, a person I worked with said, you know, perception is really reality. Sometimes the real is not the real, but how one perceives it to be real turns out to be real in the end. Hi, Bob Barney for The Plain Truth today, brought to you by theplaintruth.com. Glad to be with you and hope you enjoy today’s program. It’s about a couple of different things. It’s about fleeting liberty and about things going on in America and around the world today that I think God has something to say about. I’m going to start out the show with a history lesson.

So this is a little of everything. There’s a movie out there called One Life, and it’s really well acted. Anthony Hopkins plays the elderly character. It’s a present day, then a flashback kind of movie. Sometimes I don’t like that kind of format, but it works okay. But it’s this real story, and it seems to be, when I checked it up on the internet, to be a hundred percent accurate story of a man who in World War II, an English person who was a stockbroker, in World War II decided he was going to try to save as many Czechoslovakian possible when Adolf Hitler invaded the country, took over the streets, and started deporting, killing off families that were Jewish mainly, but just killing off anybody they saw to be an enemy in the so-called Sudetenland. You could almost say it’s what Putin’s doing to Ukraine, what Putin plans on doing to Estonia, Lithuania, Poland, Finland, you name it. Trump, I’m sorry, not Trump, but Putin doesn’t have any good motives behind him, neither did Adolf Hitler. But anyway, this man decided to save quite a few children, and he was able to do so.

And it’s a very fascinating movie, and I would recommend people to watch that movie. You can probably rent it by now. We got it rented off of the Dish Network, but it’s called One Life, 2023, I believe is when it came out. Anthony Hopkins plays the lead of the senior Nicholas Winton, and I don’t know who plays the young Nicholas Winton. But during 1939, when the Nazis started their aggression against peaceful nations in Czechoslovakia, he was there for a one-week tour. He was a very liberal do-gooder, and did not, by the way, was not a believer in any god whatsoever. He called himself an agnostic, but he did do good works. And so when the general resurrection comes around, I don’t believe this man has a problem. When you watch that movie, especially, and when you read about him, I don’t think he’s got a problem when the general resurrection comes, when the books are opened, and he is judged by his works. Because the man is unbelievable. He lived to be 106 years old. There’s right there a blessing. And he freed 669 children from Czechoslovakia, got them British visas, that they raised the money, 50 pounds per visa, and they found families to take them in and adopt them before Hitler would close the borders for evacuations. And he was able to get eight railroad cars full of children out, 669. Unfortunately, the ninth one was right when Hitler declared war on everybody, and they stopped the trains, and those people were all sent to concentration camps, and they died.

And there’s a scene in that movie that’s very touching. The wife of Robert Maxwell, that is Jazim Maxwell’s father, by the way, on the New York Daily News, the British tabloid, I believe The Sun or The Mirror, one of the two, but he was the Rupert Murdoch of his day. Well, his wife was a Frenchwoman. And I learned from that movie, by the way, that Robert Maxwell actually was one of those people in Czechoslovakia that had to get out, not by this guy, but he is a, I didn’t look into his story, but he is somebody that got out of Czechoslovakia as a young man himself. And so he had an interest in this person, Mr. Winton. Now, Mr. Winton was a very modest person. As a matter of fact, his wife of 50 years did not know what he did during World War II until she found his scrapbook some 40, 50 years after the war had ended. She didn’t even know. His children didn’t know. His neighbors didn’t know. No one knew what he did because he was very modest. It’s a great, like I said, it’s a great movie.

I really recommend it. But he was able to save 669 children. Today, over 6,000 descendants of those refugees that he saved are alive. Do the math, in another 100 years, there’ll probably be 300,000 because of him that will be alive. And if we’re around 1,000 years from now, I doubt it, but if we are, it would probably be in the tens of millions would be alive at that time because this man did what he did. This is perception is reality. This is what I want to talk to you about. When you see the movie and you see the Nazis move in with their tanks and their armored vehicles and their rifles out, it’s a image that brings terror to people watching it. If you have any compassion or any knowledge of history at all, and you will find out that this terror that it brings them also should bring you when you see it.And this is the perception is reality. And I’m going to go back now to America, Donald Trump’s America. And this is my problem with the visuals we are seeing because Americans today are seeing in the streets of Washington, D.C., probably soon see in the streets of Chicago.

We already seen them in the streets of L.A. American soldiers with weapons on the ground, restoring order and peace, as Hitler did with his troopers that storm countries and even into Nazi cities and took them over and then started arresting people and deporting people to concentration camps, not necessarily to other countries. It’s a sad time in World War Two because no other country wanted to take these refugees. The Americans refused to take them. The British didn’t want to take them. But people with good will, like Mr. Winton here, Nicholas Winton, convinced the people in office in the powers to be situation to write visas to the children he brought pictures of and applications of. And they did bring in all of those children, as I mentioned earlier. When I say perception is reality, this is what I mean by that. You have Americans in this country who came from Nazi Germany or who came from Austria or who came from Poland or who came from all the Baltic states or the places like Czechoslovakia or the Sudetenland and stuff like that, or even France or the Jews that lived in the Netherlands. There’s another story I highly recommend people watching. The Hiding Place is the story of Corrie ten Boom, who, unlike Mr. Winton, was a strong Christian. Her family was Christian before, during and after. And they hid out Jews in their hiding place, a special room they built in their house in the Netherlands.

And that was hidden. You couldn’t see this room the way they did the disguising of an inner room in a room in her bedroom. And how every one of her family died but Corrie ten Boom. And that book called The Hiding Place, if you are a reader, is worth reading. And if you can’t read it, you don’t have the time, then I highly suggest we put it up several times on the Saturday Night Plain Truth Today broadcast. It’s called The Hiding Place. It’s a two-hour movie. And you see what this woman, her sister, her brother, and her father did to save people because they saw God required them to do so. You know, I sit there and I watched that movie yesterday of Nicholas Winton. Here is a man who is an atheist. Here is a man who says, well, I think he said he was an agnostic. And I understand where he’s coming from, because that’s what I was. I was an atheist for quite a long time, until I discovered the plain truth. But I understand where he’s coming from. But he had a good heart.

And I’m sitting there watching this movie. And there’s tears in my eyes, because it’s a very moving movie. And then you sit and think, I’m doing these broadcasts every day.I’m trying to show people that there is a God, and the God is the God of the news. And when you see the news, like how we present it on The Plain Truth, that people can understand that God is trying to inform them of their future, of their past, what they need to do to get themselves right with God and maybe survive a great tribulation that is coming. And I think I’m doing my work. But then I see this guy who saved 669 children. And I’m thinking to myself, sitting in that chair, watching that movie, boy, what have I done that even compares to what this man did? Nothing. Nothing.I am a nothing compared to this man who’s not even a Christian. The only thing I can say to myself is I believe in Jesus Christ, and I know he died for me, and I know I’m going to obey his words. But other than that, I was convicted that I don’t do enough for people out there by helping people out, arranging things, maybe setting up, like he did, an organization to help children around the world.

If there’s one thing that really bothers me, and I’ll tell you this, and I hope it bothers everyone listening to my voice, one thing bothers me is watching children suffer and cry. Children do not deserve, I don’t care what nation they’re from, I don’t care what religion their parents are, because no child has a religion. They only have the religion of their parents. When someone says, I’m a Catholic, that means they were born a Catholic. That means their parents were Catholics, and it’s going to be thrown down their throat until they either accept it or reject it. But no child who’s suffering in the camps in Afghanistan, or in Africa, or in Asia, or in South America, or even probably the United States of America, none of these children deserve what’s happening to them. And when you see them crying and being afraid, fear, panic, it’s horrible to watch. And when you go back to the modern day today, and you see military vehicles in the streets, armed soldiers, and there may be a good reason for it. Donald Trump may be trying to bring order and justice to what the Democrats have really messed up since they’ve been in power.

I mean, you cannot say that the Democrats have done a good job when it comes to policing cities, when they wanted to defund the cops, they wanted to do anything they could do to let criminals out bail, to let murderers out without bail, to let anybody across the Mexican border, never even knowing, for example, over 2,000, that’s probably more like 10,000, because it’s 2,000 known people made it across the border under Biden that were on the terrorist watch list. We know to this day, it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to realize that there’s probably 10,000, 15,000 sleeper cell individuals in this country, probably in 100 or 200 or 300 sleeper cells in all the major cities of this, and maybe some rural areas of this country, just waiting for orders from Iran or other Muslims, or maybe other causes that are in this country that came across the Mexican border. And this is why the Americans are scared.

This is why the Americans voted for Donald Trump to do something about it. I think, like myself, they did not vote to see all migrants deported and sent away or sent to prison or sent to certain camps like Alligator or whatever, prison down in Florida. I don’t believe people really envisioned that was the way to go, that people who lived here for 20, 25, 30 years, who pay income taxes and Social Security taxes and Medicare taxes that they themselves probably will never use, they’ll be back to where they came from. And they’re now hiding. They’re being found, arrested and deported. I saw a statistic that 79% of those who have been arrested by ICE, who are in these, I’ll call them concentration camps, because that’s what they really are, have no criminal record other than coming across the border illegally. And there may be several in these institutions that are actually American citizens that were arrested by mistake, and no one’s going to admit to it, or green, valid, green card-carrying migrant workers here to work on visas that allowed them to come here. And maybe through clerical errors or whatever, we have decided they’re here illegally. And they may not be here illegally, but they have no voice. They don’t have a lot of money to fight. They’re poor people. And they’re being ripped away from their families.

And our crops in the fields are spoiling. And we’re going to soon pay the fiddler with vegetable prices and fruit prices and all kinds of other products that we buy that depend on migrants in this country picking them. Because let’s face it, Americans don’t want to work in that kind of environment. You’re not going to find white Americans, and you’re not going to find too many black Americans. You might find black islanders, like from Jamaica, picking the cane in the Florida sugarcane groves, but you’re not going to find black Americans on welfare, or white Americans on welfare or not, willing to do the jobs that these migrants do in the fields of California, Florida, Texas, Arizona, picking crops in the hot sun. It’s 108 degrees today in Phoenix, Arizona, when I started this broadcast. If we repeat this show, which we probably will down the road as a Best of Bob series, it probably might be a different temperature. But today, I just saw on the news, it’s 108 degrees in Phoenix. There are people, and I think they said it was 104 in Southern California. There are people right now in California, in Arizona, at those temperatures, picking crops, the ones that haven’t hit out anyway. And maybe there’s nobody picking crops because of what’s happening, because of the tariffs and because of the fear of ice. But anyway, what I wanted to get to is these people are doing work in conditions you and I would not be willing to do at any time in our life, even when we were a teenager.

I remember working pretty hard on a farm, picking crops as a teenager, but it wasn’t 100 degrees, and I could take breaks when I wanted to. And I was living with my parents, and I did not have to make a certain amount of money that day in order to survive and take care of my family. There’s a lot of difference there. I’ll be right back. Bob Barney for The Plain Truth today, brought to you by theplaintruth.com, the one place to go to see what’s happening in the news and what God has to say about it. That’s theplaintruth.com. Go there every day. Thank you very much. Well, we’re back with the idea of what’s going wrong with all of the visuals that we are seeing in today’s America. And as someone who voted for Donald Trump in 2016, 2020, and 2024, someone who still believes that the 2020 election was probably stolen, most likely stolen by the Democrats who had it down to a science, how to steal elections. I also voted for Donald Trump in 2024 because I wanted to see the border closed. And I wanted to see violent criminal gang members deported or put in jail for the rest of their life or executed for any murders they do. I wanted to see law and order. I wanted to see us on the world stage dominate again, like we did under Ronald Reagan, where the world respected us. I wanted to see someone stand up to Putin and stop what was going on around the world in Ukraine, the Middle East, things that Donald Trump seemed to have done correctly in his first administration. But right from day one, when I watched the inauguration and I saw all those tech giants, those billionaires standing with him, and then in the Oval Office, when he started signing all these executive orders, like 50 the first day, and they were all there, like that photo that you see or that video you see of the Nazis around Hitler rubbing their hands together when he’s signing his orders, like they can’t wait to get started.

Well, these tech billionaires, I think they think they bought and paid for this presidency back then. And I think, and I told my wife, Tammy, I think they did. I didn’t like what I saw.I didn’t see middle-class Americans in that room. I saw the people who are part of the problem with this country in that room, causing mayhem and inequality in this country. And there’s a lot of inequality coming back to this country. And this is where I get back to the perception is reality view of America. There are too many Americans who were horrified in their life. They may have come from a third world country, legally, I’m talking about.I’m talking about legal American born citizens or naturalized citizens, people whose grandparents maybe were the Jews put in concentration camps in Nazi Germany and in Poland and in Czechoslovakia, people who maybe came from Cuba, for example, under Castro, and they fled in the first boat lift, really, in 1960, where all these Cuban Americans that are living in Miami, absolute Republican voting, proud Americans, decent people who are absolute, some of the best business people you could ever deal with. And I have dealt with them in the paint business. Their word is sacred.

They never go back on their word. And we’re not talking about the 1980 boat lift, the Mariel boat lift. We’re talking about the original people who fled out of Cuba when Castro took over, who were the movers and shakers, the business leaders and the brains of Cuba, all came to Miami in the early 1960s.And they made Miami a true Latin international city. They are great workers. They are people of their word. They never lie. And they are very pro Republican and pro American. And now these people, and I’ve talked to quite a few, remember a lot of these people buy paint. They’re very, you know, Hispanics are really big into automotive paint, especially. And I talked to these people and they’re watching Trump, who they supported at first. And they’re thinking, this does not look good.It does not look good that we’re doing what we’re doing to these people and to children, deporting children, that their mother has cancer in one case. And then, and then justifying it, making up charges, possibly against certain people that you just found out you shouldn’t have deported. Then you start making up charges and you make statements that the courts say, you have never proven one statement.

Right now, under this Trump democracy in America, you are, if you’re an illegal immigrant, guilty until you can prove yourself innocent. This is not the American way. And the perception of reality is to many people living in America, what have we brought on ourselves? And I think that every day when I see what’s going on here, it’s the idea, for example, that Donald Trump took a 10% stake in Intel. He’s also taken 15% off the top of Intel and Nvidia. He has also became a board member of Nippon Steel that can veto anything Nippon Steel wants to do in America and allowed them to buy out U.S. Steel. He’s putting the United States government in the boardrooms of private enterprise. And I don’t see a Republican other than Rand Paul seeing a problem with it. And that’s a problem because the Republicans supposed to be standing for free enterprise, not government controlled businesses. That’s not even fascism.That’s communism. That’s what Bernie Sanders wants to see. Elizabeth Warren wants to see.AOC want to see. They want to see Americans control the insurance companies, the gasoline fuel companies, the chip makers, all of these companies. And you want to know what? Donald Trump seems to agree with them.

And if it doesn’t bother you as a free market trades person who wants to go out and see America dominate the world again, I don’t know what I don’t know what to say to you. But I want to tell you something that probably the greatest socialist communist president we’ve ever had. Maybe I don’t believe Joe Biden because he was a president anyway.Maybe the communists behind him were and maybe Obama was a bigger communist than what I’m going to say. But up until the administration of FDR in the 1930s during the Great Depression, he was an avowed basic socialist. He absolutely admired Stalin’s Russia. He was an admirer of socialism and even communism. And when World War II broke out and he was thinking about taking over American companies that Donald Trump is doing today for national security reasons, he had something hit him in the face that at least he had the brains to realize what was happening, that the government didn’t know how to run Ford Motor Company and to make airplanes. The government didn’t know how to make boats.

The government didn’t know how to do anything correctly. So finally, he went to these people like Henry Ford and all of these industrialists, these people that were his enemies during the early part of the 1930s. And he basically said, I’ll tell you what, we’re going to write checks out for whatever you need, but you need to supply us with submarines, battleships, aircraft carriers, liberty ships, airplanes, tanks, armored vehicles, machine guns, sidearms over and over. You need to do this. We’ll write to check out and we’re going to probably get screwed by some of you guys because I don’t like you anyway. But we’re not going to get into that business because what I just figured out in the last year and a half of trying to do so, government can’t do it.And so the idea that Donald Trump thinks that government controlling boardrooms of American corporations, that it’s going to be good for American security is boulderdash. It’s an absolute plain old lie. It’s the same socialist, communist lie that has brought everyone and every nation who’s ever tried it into bankruptcy, into moral decay. The truth is you have to put limits on big business and all business. You got to have a, like Teddy Roosevelt said, you got to have a even playing field. Teddy Roosevelt said, the job of government is not to pick winners and losers as Donald Trump’s trying to do, but to keep the playing field equal, that the little guy is equally in the eyes of the government, the same as U.S. Steel or Rockefeller.

And that’s why he broke up the trust. And that’s why he went to war with these industrialists. But at the same time, he understood we needed industrialists. We needed America to go forward. He was going to make sure that these industrialists didn’t put the little guy out of business who may come up with the best new thing coming along. Because what’s made America great is the average guy out there has an idea and he makes it happen. And then he becomes the next billionaire industrialist. It’s not done when government is in control. What we’re seeing is a fleeting democracy in this country. One would have never suspected, no one would even suggest 40 years ago when Ronald Reagan was president, that a Republican would ever stand for communist principles, would ever stand for making deals with Russia and allowing them to invade anywhere they wanted to go, to be lied to, not being able to stand up to them. Ronald Reagan, who broke the back of the Soviet Union, who was 10 times more powerful than they are, Russia is today, stood there face to face and called them what they were to their face. He didn’t sit there and hero worship them thinking, oh, you got to like me in order to make a deal with me.

See, Putin likes me and that’s why I know we’re going to get a deal. That arrogant behavior is not what Ronald Reagan did to break the Soviet Union’s back. And he broke their back. They went bankrupt and they lost their entire society and their whole plan of world conquest under Ronald Reagan. Maybe we should go back to the morality of Ronald Reagan. Donald Trump does not show morality. He does not show compassion to people. If you are a person that believes in the real God of the Bible, you have to have certain functions. And above all, you must obey God. You must obey the laws of God. You must obey and believe in Jesus Christ as your Savior. But comes a close second is you must have compassion even to your enemy, to everyone living in this country, every poor person. You are to help those who come and ask you for help. You are to be there. Read the Old Testament.

You are to help people who need help. You’re to help the orphan. You’re to help the widow. You’re to help the poor, the indigent. You’re to feed them. You’re to take care of them. You’re not to be a Gestapo-like army to them. Yes, perception is also reality to God the Father and Jesus Christ. He looks down upon this country right now, and I do not believe God likes what they are seeing.I don’t believe they like it one bit. I actually think that some of the disasters and the natural disasters happening to this country is a warning against us. Either we change our ways, or we are going down the road to destruction like ancient Rome.We are the modern Romans. We did a whole series of that a year and a half ago, and I’ll probably, when I want to have a vacation, which I haven’t had in two and a half years, that might put some of those old stories back up. But America needs to find its God, and it needs to find its morals and its principles.

Ronald Reagan made America the shining city on a hill for the whole world to look up to. Donald Trump is not doing that. In fact, he is burning down, like Nero in Rome, that shining city, and what is going to replace it is wars, rumors of wars, death, plagues, the forehurstment of the apocalypse, a reunified Europe under a dictator called the Antichrist, a probably reunified militaristic Japan which will dominate the Pacific again like before World War II and probably take over China. This is what’s happening with our leadership today. God help us if we do not demand righteous behavior from our leaders and that we ourselves have to become more righteous as a people. Don’t let some guy like Nicholas Winton show us up who doesn’t even believe in God. We have to walk the walk, talk the talk, and do the thing, or God will spit us out when that judgment day comes.

This is Bob Barney for The Plain Truth today. I do appreciate everyone listening every day. These have been some tough broadcasts. I apologize, but it’s a time we wake up as a nation. God is not happy with us.
