Hi, this is Bob Barney for The Plain Truth Today Podcast brought to you by The Plain Truth dot com. I want to talk about the government, government regulations and the nonsense that the American people allow themselves to be subjected to.
There was a joke a few years ago about God finding in the 21st Century, a man called Noah and He told Noah He was going to flood the earth and wanted him to build an ark and gave him a certain amount of time to do so. He came back to visit Noah, and nothing had been started. He asked, “Noah why haven’t you started this project, I have started to flood the earth and I need you to get this ark built?”. Noah said, ‘You don’t understand God, I have to get a zoning permit. NO one understands why I need to build a boat in the middle of nowhere with no water nearby and I have to get a permit!”. God said, “you have to figure out how to get a permit.”. Noah said, “I don’t know how to, after the zoning people and the EPA came, they told me I couldn’t cut down the wood in the forest for the ark because it was protected. Then of course I needed pitch to cover the ark, but the pitch had too many VOC in it and no longer could be painted on any wood because it is a cancer-causing substance. Then I found out when I said I need labor, a union representative showed up and asked if I was hiring union people!”. Finally, the Lord said to Noah, “uh forget about building the ark. I am not going to bring a flood on the earth”. Noah replied, “Why not, I thought you were going to destroy the earth”. God replied, “no, you all already have destroyed the earth on your very own”.
That is what is going on today, you cannot build a house with all of the regulations. You have to pass all kinds of test and pay your county government or local town government for permits and sometimes they cost a tremendous amount of money…this causes the house to go up in major costs. I am not saying that some building codes aren’t for safety and shouldn’t be enforced, but I will give you an example my brother gave me the other day after watching This Old House. Everyone knows that when you put a swimming pool in you have to put a fence around it. This is a good rule because if you don’t do so, someone may not be paying attention, fall in the pool and drown. But this family was building an above ground pool off the deck of the house. The inspector said Well because it is above the ground you don’t need to have a fence around the pool because it is higher than what a toddler would need. Then my brother said to me, “what about the kid living in the house who runs out on the deck and falls in the pool because there is nothing to stop him from doing that?”. These are the things that government officials do because they have no common sense. They have no idea what they are doing. They do not know what the industry is that they are regluating.
I am in the paint business, the people at OSHA and the EPA absolutely do not understand one wit about the chemicals I use! They have no idea what the dangers there are and what dangers there are not in making and selling paint. Here is an example for you. Another paint company near me and a very good friend of mine, was raided by the EPA several years back who spent three days taking samples of powders. There was a bag that said Titanium Dioxide of which they took a sample of as well as a bag of Clay…they also took a sample of Telk…and a bag that said Calcium Chloride…they took samples and then went away. It took them five days to take 1 quart sample with four people to get a sample. Figure that out. Then they come 4 months later, and they tested all of this at Fort Detrich and low and behold there was Titanium Dioxide in the TD bag, and Clay in the clay bag, and Calcium Chloride in the CD bag, etc., and I was thinking NO KIDDING, that is what the bag said…why would we put something else in the bag? Then they came with this huge fine because he was carrying more than ten thousand pounds of Calcium Chloride. This was a dangerous hazardous substance apparently when you carry more then 10,000 pounds of it, but not less. But you could have a 100 thousand pounds of talc, which is a cancer-causing agent, but the CD was considered very dangerous. Read your bottle of Tums. Tums are made from the same product, Calcium Chloride, that is in industrial paint as a filler. You can eat it. You can eat it and when you do, your acid indigestion goes away and yet the government says that when you put it in paint, it has to be regulated…but when you put it in your body it doesn’t matter.
Another example Ther was a product that was banned in the paint industry years ago, called methylene chloride, and anyone who paints or strips wood at home, and you used to buy paint stripper, you would pain on this liquid gel and the paint would bubble up and if you got it on your finger it would burn like the Dickens, it was very caustic. It was a great product to lift paint though. When you put it on paint to strip it you were supposed to put on the proper gloves and wear a mask so as not to breathe in the vapors that were lethal…of course people knew this and did as they needed…but they decided it was a cancer causing product and had to be banned so for the last 3 or 4 years all paint strippers had to remove methylene chloride…remember that name…and it probably is a cancer causing product by the way, but now you no longer can find a paint stripper that can work. At our company, we created one that does work and for the most part, people today cannot find a paint stripper that actually works because of abolishing this product. No car, no piece of metal should be stripped with methylene chloride. Now, look up in your search engine, decaffeinated coffee, methylene chloride. Turns out that the same EPA that says it is so bad and dangerous in a paint stripper is the number one ingredient used to decaffeinate your coffee. You can use methylene chloride to do THAT and drink it and it is OK by our EPA and considered safe for human consumption but not safe to put on your 57 Olds.
If you do not see that there is a problem with that regulation, then I think you are the problem as well as our government. This is the problem when you have a bunch of bureaucrats who do not know what they are doing, making rules and regulations that Congress is supposed to make, not some agency…no congressmen passes these regulations…we have literally millions of pages of legislation about product and product safety, that not one congressmen ever voted on and yet they are enforced as laws, laws on our books that were never passes by any elected representative. Laws made by unelected bureaucrats, working for an agency that has the ability of life or death over small businesses with their decisions that they do not even understands their businesses they are controlling. They do not know what these chemicals are, what they do, what is dangerous or not, what should be or not be outlawed, they don’t have a clue. These are the people that tell you that you want to do away with a gasoline powered car and go to EV’s because it is environmentally friendly when it takes coal powered plants to make the electricity to run charge the batters on these electric vehicles…and by the way, there are not enough power plants in the world to power up the amount of cars that we would need in this country alone, if we all went electric.
This is the nonsense that people are living with and not rebelling against.
I have an electric utility vehicle…I wanted an electric one because I did not want a lot of the noise as you know the little four wheelers that have Honda motors or a two-cycle motor, they make a lot of noise, and my wife didn’t want a lot of noise on the property, and it is nice. It lasts for about 4 weeks on a charge. Right in the book however, it tells you DO NOT CHARGE THIS ELECTRIC VEHICLE INSIDE A BUILDING OR YOUR GARAGE. KEEP15 FEET AWAY FROM ANY BUILDING. It can catch fire. It also says not to charge the batter when it is under 40 degrees because it will not charge at that temperature and can actually destroy the batteries.
We saw last week in Chicago, there were all of these cars trying to charge when it was 10 degrees out there and snowing and they could not charge their electric vehicles, they stayed all over the place as a result and there were no way people could move. This is the nonsense of government regulations, people making rules that they expect you to live by in which the same people aren’t expected to live by. John Kerry is flying all over the world and telling you that you need to walk everywhere. You don’t even have a right to have a car according to him because you are the problem, you are the problem not him flying around in his private jet. That is the problem with our leaders.
I remember a long time ago listening to Laura Ingraham had a radio show. She was talking about a friend of hers that is no longer a friend, who was from Canada saying about how corrupt the American medical system was and how great it was in Canada. Laura said to the women at a baseball game, well, I have heard these horror stories in Canada that people wait months and sometimes years for necessary operations. The women said, “oh that is just the regular people, you know when we are in government, we don’t have to wait at all, it is perfect for us”. That is the type of people making the laws that you have to live by because they themselves are not going to live by them. They are above you. They are the elite, and you are the peon. They are the duke and the king, and the prince and you are the peasant.
If you don’t think that this is the mentality in Washington DC, your state Capitol and probably your town hall, the leaders within then you need to put on a good pair of spectacles and start looking at what is really going on around you. These people do not obey they expect you to follow.
Quite a few years ago, there was a woman who owned the Empire State building, Helmsley was her name, and she was caught in this tax trap and was going to be arrested, her famous quote was, “only little people pay taxes”. You might think that is funny bu8t that is the true. Little people pay the majority of the taxes, yes, rich people pay their fair share, I am not one of these communist democrats that want to tax the rich, but the truth is, if you took away the top 2% of the entire amount of their wealth, every dime, you wouldn’t pay off one 100 thousandths of one percent of Americans debt. America makes its money off taxing the working middle class. Do not be fooled that the rich are not paying their fair share. The truth is the rich are paying their fair share and the middle class is paying the big share. The lower classes who pay no income taxes are living off of you and the government. I even mentioned this weeks ago, about breaking all the Ten Commandments, when you pass an income tax that takes from one and gives to another, you are stealing…our government are a lawless bunch of thieves! If you drive down the highway and see a policeman with radar down the road, he is there to make money for his county or town, he is not there to protect you or save you from some crime. Crimes probably are happening around the corner why they are pointing the radar at you giving you cancer by the way…do you know if you drive through a radar trap every day and are not speeding, I think you should be able to sue your town for exposing you to harmful cancer-causing radar and not committing a crime. Why should you have to tolerate that? You should be able to sue for damages.
How much of our cancers are being caused by your government?
You know these power wires that go across people’s yards are known cancer causers and stuff like that, that zoning officials give variances for the big power companies to put these huge power lines across farms for example. There are cows grazing on these cows and you are eating beef you have no idea if it is doing anything to them…no one really has an answer for this. The absolute depravity of these individual and their regulations passed by people who have no clue!
A friend of mine told me one time, you know the people that we used to want to beat up when we were in high school or did beat up, those little twirps, these are the people putting forth these regulations. They are the ones with the little man syndrome with their thick glasses or their big round butts sitting on their seats all day and cannot move all day, these are the people passing the regulations to get even with you for what you did to them in the past! And that is probably The Plain Truth!
I look at these people when I did an addition on my house and got the permits paying all the necessary dollars to do so and look at these people thinking I pay the very people who move so slow that a corpse at a morgue moves faster than these people work.
You watch them fill out paperwork that takes you an hour, you yourselves could do it in five minutes, they just want to waste time because they are on the clock and have no incentive to make money…they don’t have a business sense…no one in government understands the concept of capitalism and how to work hard to make money, because they make money in spite of themselves and how slow they want to work by changing more fees and taxes. it is that simple.
Regulations have stymied this country. Regulations that unelected officials have passed and continue to pass cause this country to go into a recession, a depression, and possibly have put us in a situation where we cannot save ourselves. We have to get rid of these bureaucrats, and probably wipe out 75% of all government. employees.
I always get a laugh out of this when we are being threatened of a government shutdown and they say how bad it is going to be and then a snow day comes and they say in Washington DC, only essential workers have to show up. That all non-essentials do not have to show up because it is dangerous. If we have nonessentials in government as employees, if they are non-essential, don’t have them on the payroll.
I always say if we have a government job today, it is an opportunity to hire a minority. I am sorry if this sounds bad…but it is the truth. They are hiring people that are going to vote for them. Why do you think that 95% of government employees in our government are democrats? Do you think there is a reason for that/ Do you think they are hired because they are a particular of people who are going to vote for democrats and that is why they get the job, and those who could do the job better, are overlooked. Reverse racism, reverse everything. This country is failing miserably because we reward the lazy, the lawless, and the evil and we punish those who want to do good, who want to work and who want to do the right thing.
As long as we do all of that, this country will continue to fail, and you will continue to live under some harsh conditions and stupid regulations. They will continue all of this with no end.
This is Bob Barney saying i hope we wake up and put an end to this in our lifetime really soon, because we are saddling our children and grandchildren with a country that they are really going to regret, and they won’t like us for hat we are giving to them.
