Friday Wrap-Up with Bob: September 18, 2026 (Transcript)

Hi, Bob Barney for The Plain Truth Today, brought to you by theplaintruth.com, the place to go to to find out what’s going on in the world, and does God have anything to do with it, and what you should know. You can find that from the pages of theplaintruth.com or from these podcasts on The Plain Truth Today, which you get to from theplaintruth.com. And it’s, again, another Friday wrap-up, and we’re going to get into what’s happened over the week, the big news that you need to know, and my take on what it all means. And the first topic I’m going to get into is probably not the biggest news of the week, it’s probably the most important news of the week, and probably of the month, and maybe of the year, and that has to do with the scare going about AI taking over the world, killing off all of humankind.

1:39 And, you know, like, if anybody saw the movie 2001, that was, what, from 1968 or 1969, hell, the computer, you know, the movie Airplane made fun of it, hell, by the way, was IBM with one letter above, I-B-M, or one letter, H-I, yeah, and B, yeah, so hell was one letter below, I’m sorry, the IBM.And so that’s because the author wanted to convince the world with his novel, Space Odyssey2001, that the artificial intelligence that everybody had been predicting since the Twilight Zone days, Gene Roddenberry, Star Trek, was going to destroy mankind, and there was that scene that’s very famous in Space Odyssey 2001, and replayed hilariously in Airplane Version 2, or Part 2, where the computer takes control of the spacecraft and kills all the people on board. And this has led, in the American mind, this idea that the end of the world is going to come by computers with AI that will destroy all of mankind.

Well, I guess if you don’t believe in God, and you especially don’t believe in the Bible, there’s certain things that you can be led to believe, and one of those is that mankind can destroy himself. Man loves to believe that he’s the smartest and most powerful thing in the world, andman can do anything, because man thinks he’s a god. Now, we are all gods in the making, but we don’t have the power of God, and if we believe the Bible, which is the Word of God, we know that man cannot destroy himself.

3:55 He has the ability to destroy himself today without any help from AI. However, he doesn’t have the possibility of doing so for a very good reason, and that good reason is God the Father and Jesus Christ, the other God of the Godhead, has already decided that they’re not going to allow mankind to destroy the world in themselves. So the Bible is very clear.

It’s not a doomsday scenario that people like to say, the end of the world. It’s not. It’s the beginning of a new age, and the end of our age, but the truth of the matter is that Jesus Christ, in his very famous Olivet Prophecy on Matthew 24, clearly shows that it was possible that mankind will have, by the end times, the ability to destroy all of life on this planet Earth, and we really can do that today with nuclear weapons, but he said, but for the elect’s sake, those days would be shortened, meaning it is not possible that we can destroy ourselves, not with AI, not with robots, not with our own ingenuity.

We just can’t do it because God says he’s not going to allow us to do it, and it’s that simple. So again, if you believe in God, and I do, and this program is showing you that God is in control of your news, if you want to believe it or not, but if you believe in God, in God’s word, you know that it’s not going to happen. Now am I saying that there’s not dangers in AI, and is mankind going to try to destroy himself in the world? Well it seems so when you read Matthew 24.

5:01 It seems like a lot of evil people are going to, led by the devil, who wants to see all of mankind destroyed. Why do you think the devil wants all mankind destroyed? Because the devil knows what our future is, and that we are potential gods in the making, and he wants to prevent that, because he’s jealous of us. We are the replacement of God, we’re God’s children, so we’re the replacement really of the devil’s powers over everything.

And so the devil wants to destroy as many human beings as possible. Done a very good job over these last 5,000 years, and mankind seems to be very willing to get into wars and to keep it going.But I wanted to talk about the AI thing, because I think it’s being overblown, and I believe there’s a reason for it.

I believe that the AI scare that we see today is actually a prefabricated lie being spread by none other than China. Now if you listen to this program, you know I don’t think China is the boogeyman, I don’t think China is our eventual enemy. I’ve already told you who our eventual enemy is, and it’s not China.

6:59 China wants to just sell us goods, and they don’t want us to manufacture anything. But there’s one thing that China does not want us to do. They do not want us to build a very good AI superstructure, because they’re trying to build an AI superstructure, and it’s like going to the moon in the 1960s, when there was this race between Russia and America to get the first person on the moon, and whoever was to do so would be the dominant superpower of the world.

And everybody that grew up in my generation understood that. But if you were on college campuses, you were part of the liberal community who was against space exploration, and they were against space exploration because they were financed to be against it by Russian communists planted in American universities to convince us that going into space and going to the moon, whilst people were starving to death in America, was just a bunch of nonsense, and we needed to stop the Apollo project. Well, people today really don’t realize, but that little handheld phone that you call an iPhone or an Android phone is 100,000 times more powerful than the computer that put us on the moon.

People don’t know that, but it is. And you would not have that phone today if NASA and scientists in America and in Russia at the time were not putting together the technology to make that iPhone happen, to make that computer that you’re listening to me probably on happen, to make 4K TVs happen, to make all kinds of communication happen. It all came from the space program.

8:02 And there was this conscious effort by communists in America to get America away from our space program so Russia could be the first ones on the moon, so they could become the dominant superpower of the world. Well, that’s my take on AI. If we do not do something to perfect AI, the Chinese are going to do it, and the Chinese are going to do it to become the superpower of the world.

I’m not saying they’re our enemy, but they are our rival, and they want to supplant us as the superpower of the world, and AI is their way of doing so. And so when you see all of this idea that these robots are kicking people by mistake, I don’t believe that, or AI has already gotten out and tried to attack other computers, I don’t believe that. I think anything that AI does, it is programmed to do.

If it did get out of its own shell, for example, and attacked another AI competitor, it wasn’tbecause AI decided to do it. It was because, for pity’s sakes, it was because the programmer wanted to do it, and he’s just using AI as the boogeyman. And China’s loving it because they’re going ahead with their AI, and their propaganda against ours is what’s leading us down the road to ruin if we don’t do something.

10:03 I want to play a brief synopsis of what I just said really quickly about this rivalry for AI. The biggest threat to OpenAI, Anthropic, or any of those model apps is not each other, it’s open models.Because if open models are really good, then it really puts a lot of pricing pressure on them.

So their interest is, it’s just the big four and no one else in town, no one can compete. And so the best way to do that is to say, it’s either us or the Chinese model. You don’t want to use their models, right? When the reality is no, it’s them versus the open models, and currently, yes, the best open models typically come from China, however, Nvidia has Nemetron, which is actually catching up quite a lot.

I think it’s just a little like sinister phrasing to try and get you subconsciously, and it works.Enterprise CIOs that I speak to, they will often say like, oh, we don’t use Chinese models. It’s crazy, like the propaganda works to get them to think, oh, no, you can only use these.

So I just wanted to play that for you. And you can see, do you think that Elon Musk and all of these AI companies, ChatGPT, which I use, it really helps you on doing repetitive things that would take you four hours to do, it can do it in a minute. I’ll give you an example.

12:32 I had a spreadsheet with 5,000 formulas, and I needed to change and add more binder to 5,000 formulas. For me to do so would have taken me probably a week of time of trying to program it towork. I asked ChatGPT to do it, and it did it in three minutes and 18 seconds.

So there is a purpose for AI, and it will make workers more productive. It won’t put them out of a job. A lot of this scare is coming from China and coming from people who, and more than China,it’s actually coming from the big four American companies out there who is in bed with ourgovernment.

They are monopolies. They’re billionaires now becoming trillionaires, and they don’t want competition. You know what really did in even Apple and Microsoft in the beginning, and then theymade sure the government put it out of business? It was something that was called at the time an open source computer program, and it was based on a code called PHP, which the web is full of today, and it was open source.

Anybody could do anything to it and improve upon it, and when you have the whole world trying to improve upon something because it’s open to everybody to do, you had a much better model.You know, when I was using a program back in 1998 that was using Unix, and that was the brand name. It was called Unix.

You probably never even heard of that. It never crashed. You never had to shut off your computer.

You never had to reboot. It was perfect in all its ways. Mac computers, which everybody loves today, including myself, is based off a private version of Unix because it doesn’t crash like Windows did, and so at the time, both Mac and Windows got together to do everything they could do to scare people off of Unix, and they used year 2000.

13:01 Remember year 2000? All the computers were going to crash, and planes were going to fall out of the sky, but it never happened, and that’s what’s going on with this AI thing. It’s our own billionaires, remaining billionaires. If you think that Elon Musk or any of these trillionaires out there, and that’s what they’re becoming, cares about you and me and little old America out there, no.

They care about their pocketbooks, their idea that they’re going to be the richest person in the world, and everybody’s fighting to be, who can be the first trillionaire? Like back in the day of the Rockefellers and the Miltons and people like that, who could be the first billionaire? That took a while. They were millionaires, but it took a while before one became a billionaire, and that’s what’s happening today. Don’t trust everything you’re hearing about anything because our government is in cahoots with big business and with the big billionaires and trillionaires of this world.

If you’re a little company like I’m, a small paying company, I see it. I didn’t get my $180,000 tariff money back. Amazon did, Apple did, Walmart did, Nvidia did, everybody who supports this government did, and that’s the way it is, and that’s the way it’s always going to be, but I didn’t get my money back, $180,000 meant more to me than the $4 billion that Amazon got back where they just put it in their pocket, but anyway, I just wanted, I spent too much time on this as it is.

Don’t believe all the hoopla about AI. Have you ever tried to call your bank and try to get through the automatic AI Erica for Bank of America? You can’t do it. It can’t understand anything you want to do, and you’re worried it’s going to come and destroy you? It can’t even understand anything going on.

14:55 It is that stupid. AI is only what people program. Never forget that.

Well, that was a message I made live right during the show for ThePlainTruth.com because it is a unique website and I really hope that people take it serious and find it. The next story I want to talk about we put up on The Plain Truth and we’re one of the few sites that really played it that would be considered conservative sites. We are a conservative site.

I know people listening now who’s mad at me by, you know, me bashing this war, bashing what this president is doing that I voted for three times. I’ve given over, I don’t know, six, seven, $8,000 in donations to. It’s not like I’m some moronic Democrat out here.

16:21 But the lies about how we’re doing in this war needs to be made public because the truth of the matter is we have somebody in charge of the Department of Defense, there’s no such thing as a war department, that absolutely is a buffoon and doesn’t know what he’s doing and unfortunately got the ear of this president who thinks he’s the smartest man in the world. He came out yesterday and he said he has an IQ of 158. It’s so funny because just four years ago it was 140, it grew, and he said there’s no president as even close to his IQ and claimed he’s the smartest man who’s ever been the president of the United States.

I would like to see how well he did on, for example, the Declaration of Independence written by Thomas Jefferson. I think he probably had a little bit more IQ. But anyway, new photos that were obtained exclusively by CBS reveal the lies that Hegseth and the war department, they want to call it the Department of Defense, and Donald Trump himself has been covering up from the American people.

And they showed videos and pictures of all of the aircraft and ground operations destroyed by Iranian missiles and cruise missiles. And we have it on the main page of theplaintruth.com. If you go to the main page, it’s a story we put up the 17th, which was what, yesterday. You’ll see this, which looks like an old Boeing 707, so that’s probably a KC-135, totally bombed and destroyed.

17:21 You see one of those tents that are the size of a football stadium, totally burned up and destroyed. There’s pictures of housing where U.S. troops stayed, completely destroyed. Then you got to ask yourself, if they’re lying about this and covering this up from the press, are they actually lying about casualties? Do we have more deaths than being reported? I grew up in a time, and people my age grew up in a time where you never could trust almost anything that the news told you because the government was lying to the news and they were just parroting the lies that especially the Johnson administration was doing.

There’s an old story about Wes Moorland when he was in charge of the military in Vietnam, where he had this kill ratio for every American GI that was killed, 40 or something, I’m making up the number, but this is the principle, Viet Cong and Vietnamese were killed. And finally, McNamara, who was probably one of the stupidest secretaries of defense we ever had, who believed all this nonsense, he was supposedly a genius, and by the way, did have 160 IQ, he invented the Edsel, he ran Ford, he was a pretty good mathematician, he didn’t know too much about the Ford business when he did the Edsel, but anyway, we won’t go there. But one day he decided to take Wes Moorland’s mathematics, and this is a time we had 26,000 deaths, and he asked Wes Moorland, do you still stand by the one to 40 ratio? And he goes, absolutely, we’ve proven it.

He said, well, if you take the 26,000 American deaths, times it by 40, you just killed the entire population of South Korea, North Korea, South Vietnam, and North Vietnam, but there’s still people alive. And the story goes that Wes Moorland just turned pale. He was caught in a bold-faced lie.

They made up a statistic of how many enemy were being killed in order to keep the war going and keep getting money. And I told you this story before in the paint business. There was no bid contracts.

18:23 Every paint company was selling everything they could do to the United States government, to the military. They were painting bombs with paint that was to last for 20 years. Well, a bomb doesn’t need to have a paint on it to last for 20 years.

It’s going to blow up and you don’t need to worry about corrosion. But this is what was going on.They were overselling the military.

This war, the Vietnam War, which killed 59,000 Americans, this war was a way for big corporationsin cahoots with government, corrupt government officials, to make a lot of money off the backs and the lives and the blood of American soldiers. And that’s the plain truth. That’s what that was.

And that is what we’re doing right now. This two-week war, which we said was going to be a four-week war, which was going to be done in six weeks, we’re now going on to the seventh month and there’s no end in sight. They are destroying our property at will.

And then we have a president saying, oh, I don’t even think about this war anymore. We won it. It’s over with.

15:23 It’s just a skirmish. And yet you’re seeing this destruction they don’t want you to see. Whenever you’re being told something that you don’t want to see, then you do want to see it.

And going on to this whole idea of this administration, I hold every administration equally to thesame standards. I had a problem when Hunter Biden was making a fortune off of Russian oligarchs and off of Chinese billionaires to enrich the Biden family. But it seems like mega people today have no problem with Don Jr.’s wedding being paid for by a Russian oligarch.

16:25 The same oligarch, by the way, that supports Putin’s war against Ukraine, the same Russian oligarchs and the same Putin who is giving arms and munitions to Iran to do the damage. You can go to the plain truth and see. And if you don’t have a problem with that, then you owe Hunter Biden and Joe Biden and for that matter, Hillary and Bill Clinton, an apology.

Because when they were doing these corrupt things, which they should be in jail for, it’s treasonous for what these presidents have done. Treasonous. I think it still calls for a death penalty in the Constitution.

17:34 If you have a problem when they do it and you don’t have a problem with it today, you’re not being consistent. Well, this program is consistent. I’m going to hold everybody accountable for doing the same things.

And if Bill Clinton deserved to be in jail and Hillary and Hunter Biden deserve to go to jail, so does Don Jr. So does also possibly the president of the United States. And this is what’s going to happen. He’s going to pardon everybody.

18:21 Now, everybody had a problem when Joe Biden pardoned his son. By the way, he didn’t pardon himself, did he? Joe Biden did not pardon himself, but he pardoned his son. Donald Trump, and I’ll predict this right now, is not only going to pardon his family and his friends, he’s actually going to pardon himself.

So no charge can ever be brought against him, like he tried to pardon himself against theSupreme Court. And here is my legal theory. I’m not a lawyer, but I play one on TV once in a while.

19:02 I personally believe if a president is a criminal doing criminal acts, pardons themselves, then a Supreme Court of the future will hold that that pardon was done unlawfully because the person doing the pardon at the time, pardoning himself, was a criminal. And a criminal cannot have the right to pardon. And I think anybody reading the Constitution would agree with my scenario, that a president can pardon anybody he wants.

That’s granted in the Constitution. It was never intended he could pardon himself. But at the same time, I don’t believe our forefathers thought that a president, if he was a corrupt criminal himself, he was a murderer, he was an axe murderer, he was a rapist, that his pardons would stand.

And I think if you were to resurrect the bodies of Ben Franklin and George Washington and JohnAdams and Madison and Thomas Jefferson and put that scenario in front of them, they’d say, no, those pardons would be held unconstitutional. And I’m telling you, that’s going to happen. It won’t happen to a Democrat like Bill Clinton.

20:33 It won’t happen to a Barack Obama, and it should, or Joe Biden. But it will happen to a Republican in a Democrat’s name only, because, you know, the last thing I’m going to talk about before we get into the weekend is, again, what this trade war tariffs, which I think I’m one of the first ever to absolutely tell our listeners exactly what the tariffs were going to do. It was going to destroy our economy, which it has.

And it was going to drive our friends and our neighbors to China. Now you got Canada wanting to join the EU. Is that really good for us? You got Mexico doing the same thing now.

You have both Mexico and Canada making deals with China, which is the big winner in this whole trade war with Donald Trump. It was the most stupid thing in the world. And here is the problem.

And I’m going to say this right now, and I am going to run out of time. If you look at the so-called mega people, this time around Donald Trump, Steve Bannon, for example, or Navarro is another one, or Secretary of Treasury Bessinger, Besson, I’m sorry. And you look at all the people, they are not conservative or even libertarian Republicans.

Everyone I just named, Bannon, Navarro, Besson, all were Democrats. They were union-supporting, liberal, tariff-hating Democrats. They’re the ones that Ronald Reagan was railing against back in the 1980s trying to protect union jobs, which is 7 percent of the workforce of America, from foreign competition, which only ruined American businesses worldwide where we could not compete.

22:21 And it really took Ronald Reagan fighting back those Democrat tariffs that brought America into the golden age of worldwide dominance in selling around the world. Everybody uses Mac or Windows computers. Everybody was buying American jets.

Everybody was buying American food. Everybody was buying products made in America, not China. Now, and we want to blame all this free trade, but free trade, the way Ronald Reagan looked at free trade was fair trade.

If they had a tariff on us, we’d put it against them. But we didn’t put tariffs on them because they didn’t want to be the 51st state. We didn’t put tariffs on them because they didn’t want to name something after Donald Trump in their homeland, or they didn’t want to honor him like he’s some kind of emperor of America.

And that’s the plain truth. And so, therefore, what we have found ourselves in is a trade war. What always follows a trade war? Ronald Reagan already told you.

24:44 World War. And we are heading to a world war, my friends. We are heading to an awful time, and no one seems to be talking about it but this show.

We are heading for a world war, and we’re doing nothing to stop it. We’re encouraging it with these trade wars. Well, I want to get into tomorrow is the Sabbath day.

Remember, this last Wednesday was the Feast of Trumpets. This is the seventh month of God’s year. It’s a month full of festivals.

Day of Atonement, where we’re supposed to fast, coming the 10th day of the month, and then the 15th starts the Feast of Tabernacles, which is like a big party for the Church of God. And it lasts for seven days, and then the eighth day is the last great day, which represents when God the Father returns back to earth or comes to earth to reign with Christ in a new heaven and a new earth. I won’t get into that today, but if you listen to this morning’s program, you will see that I gave a foreshadow of what we’re going to play tomorrow.
