LISTEN TO BOB BARNEY’S PLAIN TRUTH TODAY 7:11 BROADCAST: Bob Barney: Trump, July 4th Celebration and The Plain Truth

Hello, this is Bob Barney for The Plain Truth Today, brought to you by theplaintruth.com, going over some news before the 4th of July. We’ll get into a little bit of our 4th of July plans towards the last half of the show. Just want to go over some headline news that we have up on The Plain Truth because this is a week that I think most people aren’t going to watch the news or are going to be traveling or they’re going to be partying or picnicking, whatever they do, but do want to say there are things going on here.

You have on the main page of The Plain Truth, we have a lot of Sabbath stuff and patriotic stuff and we’ll have a lot of stuff about the 4th of July this entire week. In fact, right now on June 29th, our editors put up the real story of Betsy Ross and that’s an important story in itself. Most people don’t even realize Betsy Ross was a real person. So anyway, and on Message Board we had some breaking news both Monday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday of this week, yesterday, and one of the things that I predicted and it’s coming true and I predicted this now for the last month and a half, I kept saying, who’s going to pick the crops by the time California comes in as the source or I should say the food basket of the world? Because what I don’t think a lot of people understand, I’m old enough to remember that in the 1960s, even in 1970s, when you went to the supermarket in January and February, you didn’t get peaches, you didn’t get pears, well you got pears, I’m sorry, but you didn’t get plums and many times, with the exception of bananas was the only thing I think you could find year round, a lot of the foods that you can go to any supermarket today and get in February or January or December, you could not get back then because we didn’t have vast ways to move food around the world like they do today. It’s amazing. You know, food picked, let’s say in Australia, New Zealand, Kiwi from New Zealand, they put it on boats and within a week, they’re at port and within another week, they’re in stores.

So, you got two-week-old fruit from, you know, 20,000 miles away. This is what the entry of all of this container shipping has done for the supermarkets in the past 25, 35 years now. And so I was saying that you’re not going to see the effects of Trump’s tariffs right away, not in inflation, not in price increases and not in your foodstuffs, but you will see it by the end of summer. And one of the things I predicted was that unfortunately for a lot of Americans who just don’t know any better, that most of our crops picked in America when it’s our time to feed the world. And California produces something like 65, 75% of the United States vegetables, fruits and things in the summer, and probably almost a third of the world’s supply of fruits and vegetables that are coming from California. Anything from olives to grapes, to plums, to peaches, to nectarines, to grapes, all of these things.

Here’s a story that came out of Oxnard, California. Excuse me, I’m sorry. Lisa Tate is a sixth-generation farmer in Vitera County, California, an area that produces billions of dollars’ worth of fruit and vegetables each year. Much of it handpicked by immigrants in the United States illegally. Tate knows the farms around her well, and she says she can see with her own eyes how raids carried out by agents from the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement in the area’s fields earlier this month, part of President Donald Trump’s migration crackdown, have frightened off all workers. In the fields, I would say 70% of the workers are gone, she said.

If 70% of your workforce doesn’t show up, 70% of your crop doesn’t get picked and can go bad in one day. Most Americans don’t want to do this work. Most farmers are barely breaking even these days. I fear this has created a tipping point where many will go bust. And I’ve said this for a long time before I finish reading, that the real victim of these tariffs is not going to be Amazon, it’s not going to be Apple, or it’s not going to be these big corporations who can move overseas and do things that little guys can’t do. It’s going to be the small businesses in America, the small guys, the people who basically voted for Donald Trump in the Republican Party. They’re going to see their businesses go away because they do not have the money to compete with what the big businesses can do. So for example, there are other places in the world that are in the northern climate that when summertime comes also has peaches, also has nectarines, also has fruits and grapes. Guess what country that is? China is one of them.

A lot of the countries in Africa are now getting into that and Western Europe. Everybody is going to succeed and make a fortune except the American farmer who’s going to be basically put out of business by these Trump tariffs. I do not want to underestimate the damage these tariffs are going to be doing to all small businesses in America. You know, we get a, you watch advertisements about some American flag company that uses a hundred percent American cotton and a hundred percent American labor and a hundred percent American shipping or whatever you want to say, and they’re proud to be a hundred percent American. Well, that’s great. And I think American flags made in America with American materials, that’s great. That’s fine. It’s a funny thing. Trump memorabilia, by the way, his hats, his shirts and all his stuff that you buy from a Trump store that Trump gets commissioned for is all made in China. Every bit of it. Just thought I’d throw that in. Do as I do, not do as I say, not as I do kind of deal.

So we go on with the story, say in the vast agricultural lands of North Los Angeles, stretching from Ventura County into the state’s Central Valley, two farmers, two field supervisors and four immigrant farm workers told Reuters this month that ice raids have led a majority of the workers to stop showing up for work. That means crops are not being picked and fruit and vegetables are rotting in the field at their peak time of harvest. And you’re going to notice this real soon when you go to the supermarket, it’s going to be kind of funny, honestly, when a lot of these blind Donald Trump MAGA supporters who think the man can do no wrong and so happy that all these migrants that pick their food is being running away and being deported, they think it’s the greatest thing in the world until they can’t find what they want to buy in their supermarket or they can’t even afford it. When you’re going to see peaches and plums go up two, three, four times in price, and then you’re going to find out you got to buy it from China or you got to buy it from Western Europe with all these tariffs tacked onto it and the American jobs are still gone and the American farmers are now gone. This is the role of tariffs and I talk to people constantly every day on the phone for my business and so many people make these brash Donald Trump statements, this is the greatest thing in the world, we’re going to bring back 10 million jobs. There are 500,000 manufacturing jobs open right now that we cannot fill.

No one shows up for the job, 500,000 manufacturing jobs. Think about that for a second and we’re going to find 10 million jobs. Well, I got news for you, even in the manufacturing world, a lot of food processors, a lot of manufacturers still use, I won’t say they’re illegal, but they use immigrants to do their packing and do a lot of the manual things that, again, Americans won’t do and there’s not a machine to do yet. The minute there is a machine to do, those people won’t have a job either. But these tariffs are really going to affect the economy come summer and you think the prices of things are still bad and you think you’re going to go down and you think you’re listening to these pundits on CNBC and Fox Business say, well, it’s only going to be a momentary, 150% tariff is only going to be a momentary price increase in inflation. How in the world can something that goes up 150%, something you bought for $20, now you’re going to spend 59.95 for, or something you bought for $199, now you’re going to spend $625 for.How is that ever going to go back down as long as you’re paying that 150% tariff or that 100% tariff or that 25% tariff? I just cannot get over just absolutely how much lack of knowledge people has with basic world global economy. I’m sorry if you don’t want to live in the global world. Let’s not live in the global world.

But if you don’t want to live in the global world, you’re not going to get your fruits and vegetables that you want when you want them. You’re not going to get many of the products made overseas that aren’t even made here anymore. There are so many things that if you wanted to just buy American and nothing but American, I got a question for you. Has anybody ever seen these websites that say, be patriotic and go to this site and I’m not going to mention any names. Don’t buy from Amazon, buy from us. So you go to that site, you’re going to be a good American. You’re going to go to that site and guess what you find out? There’s some Kentucky bourbon or Tennessee bourbon. There are some $45 t-shirts. There are a few hat companies in there, a couple of flag companies. There’s nothing you really want because nothing you want is made in America. That’s the plain truth, my friends. Nothing that you really need or want is any longer made in America. American manufacturing base is gone. And in my opinion, it’s gone for good because America and American politicians, American leaders and American people have sold this country out. We are in trouble.

I had a broadcast a few weeks ago. We are an empire in decline and it’s going to take an exceptional person, other than Jesus Christ, of course, just going to take an exceptional Ronald Reagan type person to maybe put some halter on this degeneration that’s going on. It’s going to take somebody a lot different than Donald Trump because Donald Trump is proving this term that he must have had a lot other people making a lot of decisions for him in his first term when it was successful because what he’s doing is not going to be successful. I already said this before. He wants to fight with Canada and Canada is not in a very good position to fight him. You saw that this week when they dropped that 3% tariff that they were going to do against Amazon and American tech companies. And they had to capitulate really fast when Donald Trump said he was going to call off all negotiations. But one of the problems that Americans don’t even understand is three quarters of our gas refineries in America can only refine one type of oil, which is not found in the Middle East. It is not found in the North Atlantic. It is not found in the Gulf of Mexico. It is not found in Texas or anywhere else in the United States of America. It is only found in Canada. And that’s because many years ago when there was an oil shortage, Canada discovered shale oil, which is very poor grade oil. But American oil refineries realized we could bring these pipelines down. We could get this stuff without very much cost in transportation. And all we have to do is retool our refineries to burn this crap oil, this shale oil that comes from Canada. So now 75% of our refineries can only burn because that’s what they were retooled to do. They can only convert that Canadian oil to gasoline.

If Canada decided not to send that oil to America for some reason, if we really got into a contest that is just like a war, a big trade war, and they cut off that oil to us, every single car in America basically would be out of gas in two weeks. And there would be lines that made the 1973, 74, and the 1978 lines look like nothing. And there would be deaths. There would be people killing each other for gasoline. It would be Mad Max in America, only on one item and one item alone. And I don’t think anybody is telling Donald Trump this. Yesterday, we played a YouTube video of Senator Tillis from North Carolina, who voted, one of the lone Republicans, who voted against this budget deal that Donald Trump is trying to promote and con the American people that it’s great for them. And he pointed out something that I think the news is going to just gloss over because right now the news is afraid to report the truth about Donald Trump. It’s the exact opposite of three years ago.

And what he said was, he found so many fallacies with that budget, and he saw the real costs it would cost Americans, and that 11 million senior citizens would lose their Medicare under this bill within five years. And he called in Dr. Oz, who he said was a good straight player, explained it all to Dr. Oz, and Dr. Oz told him he was going to send in the people from the White House that knew all about this bill and prove him wrong. Well, after two or three days, according to his testimony, his speech to the Senate the other day, within two or three days, they admitted to him he was probably right and left him. And that was it. And that’s when he turned and said, I’m going to resign, not resign, but I’m not going to seek re-election. I’m done with the Senate, and I’m done with this administration, and I’m going to vote against this bill. A man of conviction, maybe. And I’ve never been a Tillis fan, to tell you the truth. But what he said should at least be covered in the media, because what did he really say? He proved to them that 11 million American senior citizens, not fraudulent young people on Medicaid that are getting something because they don’t want to work.

No, he said 11 million senior citizens would lose their Medicare. And then after two to three days of them trying to crunch his numbers and prove him wrong, they came back and said, well, you’re probably right, and left him alone. That, my friends, is a problem. And that’s a problem that you, I don’t believe those people working in the White House have even told Donald Trump what Matt Tillis found for them. I don’t believe that anybody is bringing Donald Trump anything that Donald Trump does not want to hear. And that is the difference, I think, between Donald Trump now and Donald Trump in 2018.Because in 2018, he had some strong advisors around him. He didn’t like a lot of them. He fired a lot of them. But they got their point across, and I think it changed his mind on a lot of things he was going to do. I can remember someone close to me saying they think Donald Trump’s not that smart of a man that Melania had all the brains of the family. I’m starting to think that may be true. But I’m not too much of a Melania fan myself. So that’s just a side note. But going on to this thing about the crops, most economists and politicians acknowledge, reading this story again, that many American agricultural workers are in the country illegally.

But they say a sharp reduction in their numbers could have devastating impacts on the food industry. And you can read that story. It is up on The Plain Truth’s message board, and I would really recommend reading that story.

We’ll be right back after a brief timeout.

Hi, Bob Barney for ThePlainTruth.com and The Plain Truth Today telling you the one place to go to every day to find out the news and what it can mean for you, and your family is ThePlainTruth.com. Thank you for listening.

So this weekend, this Friday, is the 4th of July, and it’s a celebration of this national birthday. And it’s one of the holidays that this country follows that I would not consider a pagan holiday whatsoever. It is a secular holiday, I will admit, like Thanksgiving is a pseudo-religious holiday that, again, that I think Thanksgiving is an adequate holiday and a very good holiday for Americans to celebrate. Anytime you’re celebrating God, the real God, on a Thanksgiving Day, that’s fine with me, and I think it’s fine with God.

And the national holiday, this is like our, I guess you would say, like our Hanukkah or something like that. The Jewish people have Hanukkah, which is no problem with them following Hanukkah, even if they’re a Christian. Jesus Christ, in the book of John’s Gospel, you can see he celebrated, or not celebrated, but he attended a Hanukkah festival. Yeah, that’s the truth. So the national holiday for America, our birthday, commemorates on July 4th when the Declaration of Independence was signed, written by Thomas Jefferson, with some help from Benjamin Franklin, and believe it or not, people like Roger Sherman from my hometown in Connecticut, and people like that, all contributed. These five major framers of the Declaration all contributed to Thomas Jefferson. But 95% of the words of the Declaration of Independence, with some of the greatest words written by a man, was written by Thomas Jefferson. I think he was 25 or 26 years old when he did it. These people were geniuses. We don’t even understand how smart our forefathers were. And he wrote a document that absolutely is timeless throughout history, and it will always be timeless throughout history, acknowledging that we have a creator God that gives us our rights. Donald Trump doesn’t give us our rights. Jimmy Carter didn’t give us our rights. Neither did Ronald Reagan give us our rights, or does the Constitution give us our rights. God gives every person unalienable rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

Unfortunately, man, with the help of the devil, takes away life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness from tens of millions, if not billions, of people worldwide every year. But it should be noted that Jefferson, in his declaration, set forth a way of life, a way of government, a way of man treating other men that is biblical in all aspects. Everyone is treated equal. Everyone has the same opportunity. Everyone has the same chance. There’s no winners and losers picked by one person or one government, as we do today in this country. This country doesn’t follow any of the principles. No matter what anybody wants to tell you, they follow none of the principles of the Declaration of Independence, which absolutely instills in us the knowledge that our creator God, God the Father and Jesus Christ, is who is the author of our right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, our liberties. And we are to fight to keep those liberties. I know many Christians don’t think they’re supposed to fight, but they don’t understand the Old and New Testament very well. Why did Peter have a sword with him when he cut off the ear of the guard arresting Jesus? Why was he carrying a sword if Christ said you’re not supposed to have any arms or he was a pacifist, like so many Christians try to tell you he was? Not the case. It’s just simply not the case. So I say celebrate the Fourth of July. I know a lot of it has to do with picnicking and family outings and things like that. That is actually what our founding fathers really wanted.

They really thought the Fourth of July was going to be something that would be celebrated almost like we do today, but even more so. It’s like I would say it’s like Thanksgiving, the Fourth of July, all wrapped up into one where you get together as a family, you have picnics, you have sporting events, you watch sporting events on TV. This is the kind of things that our forefathers thought it would be the most important day in all of history of the United States of America. And if you are a student of history, as I am, you agree with that idea. The world changed on July 4th, 1776. Don’t let any revisionist historian tell you like elsewhere. The whole world changed. We went from a world that was run by kings and dictators and tyrants to a world with the hope of liberty and freedom that the United States experiment, which was started in 1776, grew into the greatest nation that was ever on this face of the earth. And it will be the greatest nation ever to be on the face of the earth. And we have many shows that you can listen to or many articles you can go back and read. The United States of America is the nation of Ephraim of your Bible. Whenever you see a prophecy for Israel, because Ephraim and Manasseh are the two tribes that come from Joseph that owns the name Israel, Jacob, blessing the two sons of Joseph, said, let my name be on these two lads.

I am adapting them as my two sons. So Joseph lost those two sons to Jacob, his father, who made Ephraim the younger and Manasseh the older, the 12th and 13th tribes of Israel. Twelve tribes went to number 13, and Ephraim is the 13th.Isn’t it amazing? We have 13 original colonies. We have 13 stars on our original flag. We had 13 stripes, 13 tail feathers of the eagle, 13 arrows in the eagle’s claws, 13 olive branches, leaves. The number 13, our forefathers understood who our identity was. They really did, and they realized we were the new Israel. We were the Israel of the Bible, and that all of our freedom, all of our liberty came from God. Didn’t come from another man. Didn’t come from some government giving you the right to do something. No, God gave us the right, and they were enforcing it in this new document we call the Declaration of Independence. I have it in my office. I have it at my work, and I have it down here in the basement of my house, copies of the Declaration of Independence. I like to be reminded not only of biblical verses, which are all over the house, but also of the important documents in world history, and the most important document, in my opinion, ever written by a man and not by God or inspired by a God, be it the Father or Jesus, is the Declaration of Independence.

After that, the next documents that are important in our history would be the United States Constitution, as well as the Magna Carta that started it all way back in the 12th, 13th century AD in England, when the king was put under the authority of everyone else, which was unheard of at the time. We are a special nation. We are going to go away, and we’re in decline, and I’ve had a program about that in the recent weeks. We are in decline. The Bible predicts we’re going to go in decline, and why? Because the American people have lost the spirit of God that they used to carry. Yes, we were still a pagan following Christians. We still followed Sunday when we should have been following Saturday, Sabbath. We were following Christmas and Easter for much of our history, but God overlooks this. God overlooks our paganism. God overlooks a lot of sin when our hearts were still with the Lord Jesus Christ, and they were for the most of the entire time that the United States of America was a nation. And if we would just put our hope back in our God and pray and confess our sins to God, God promises us that he would heal this nation, and we would be powerful and a beacon on a hill again for the entire world to look at. All we have to do is go to God and ask him for it as a nation.

I wish we would do that. I wish we could buy ourselves some more time, but I’m afraid we are a nation in decline. Go read Kings and Chronicles in your Bible and watch the original Israel in decline for some 100 years before God said, enough, and get away with them. And eventually God is going to say to us, enough, and we’re going back into captivity and awaiting the end times when the Antichrist rules and Christ comes back to save his elect from their fate if he did not come back. Thank to Christ, he is coming back. I remember a bumper sticker when I was a teenager in Fort Lauderdale on spring break, and before I believed anything to do with God and Christ when I was still an atheist, but I remember this bumper sticker got me, it kind of got my interest. It said, the good news, it was on a hippie’s micro bus, by the way, the good news is Jesus is coming back. And the next line said, but the bad news, he’s really ticked off. And that was, as I found through many years of study, that is the plain truth. Christ is coming back, and he is pretty darn mad. Just read it for yourself in your Bible. It’s the same words in my Bible, maybe a little different translation, same meaning. God is not happy with us. We would be well, we would do well, I should say, to make God happy with us. Well, again, I wish your families, everyone listening, and their families and friends have a very safe, because Fourth of July can be a dangerous weekend with the boating and the fireworks and all of the activities that sometimes cause tragedy, but I hope everyone listening and their families and their friends have a safe, a very safe, fun, relaxing Fourth of July weekend.

And we will have limited programs on the Fourth of July. I think I want you to have the morning and an afternoon. I am going to do a Fourth of July wrap-up for Friday. We will have a 7-Eleven in the morning. Friday night, we’re probably going to do another short story as we do Saturday. The Sabbath night, we’ll have a short story or some kind of a TV show from the old days. And then Saturday morning, we will still have a religious or a spiritual type show about God and things like that. Like, we always have 7-Eleven in the morning on a Sabbath day. And then Sunday, I don’t know what we’re going to do Sunday. We may just replay something, or with all the breaking news going on with the budget bill and everything, we may run something about that. But not very many people are going to be listening to us or anybody else or any news or TV program this weekend. They’re going to be out enjoying themselves, and I hope you do too. And stay safe. Well, I will have a Friday Fourth of July wrap-up. One last time, you’re going to hear me this week on Friday. But until then, it will be Monday before I come back. Have a good, safe holiday weekend. Bye-bye.
