The Plain Truth is so Happy That You Have Been Enjoying Bob’s Broadcasts.
2000 years ago, a newscaster that we know of as Jesus Christ warned us about false Christianity. The warning was not against the devil but against false Christianity…about people who come in His name and deceive many.

Hello, this is Bob Barney with The Plain Truth Today, brought to you by theplaintruth.com. I’m going to talk about some different things than we usually talk about, but you know, we need to pay attention to what is going on Wall Street as always. One of the things happening over the weekend and always happened in America lately, in the last two to three years especially, are all of the national disasters…weather-related earthquakes, all of the weather-related disasters happening to America.
Before we start, I want to remind you about a year ago, we were promoting a website, it was called Jeremiah 32 27, and it was about this verse here, Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh. Is there anything too hard for me to do? Well, today’s verse is going to be a little different, and maybe somebody will start a website for that one, because America needs to turn to God. America doesn’t need to turn to any man, even if it’s a good man or a bad man. America needs to turn to God.
When we see the national disasters that are happening, people dying in these awful storms and floods, and you have hurricanes and tornadoes, and just weather events happening over and over and over again, there has to be a reason, and always the reason that the liberals want to give you, that it’s global warming. Well, it has nothing to do with global warming. Disasters happen for many reasons, but one of the reasons that disasters happen is because we as a people turn our backs on God, and sometimes God uses tragedies to get our attention again. And the verse I want to read today, and in some other verses as well to talk about this, is found in 2 Chronicles, chapter 7, I believe, yes, 7 14. If my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, I will forgive their sin, and I will heal their land. Now, that’s what we need. We need God to heal our land and to stop these national weather-related tragedies from happening. And if you don’t think God can do it, then again, we go back to what we did last year with Jeremiah 32 27. Is there anything too hard for the Lord to do? So we as a nation began to go back to God, not just fasting and praying about an election, but fasting and praying about the welfare of our nation in the light of all of these natural calamities.
We have to remember the Bible, and we have to remember what God says we have to do in order to get his favor and his grace and his protection. And God can offer protection to a humble, contrite people who return to God in fasting, in prayer, and a lot of prayer, and change our ways. Because what you’re going to find out is a lot of times, America tends to get arrogant.
And then it reflects from our leaders, or it can reflect from our own national character. We get to be arrogant, and we forget about God. In America, we basically have ruled God out of most places in our life. We rule Him out of schools, and heck, most of the churches have ruled God out, because God has laws that are important. But we just simply do not follow God’s laws. We’re in the midst of, I think this is day five of Feast of Passover or Unleavened Bread. It’s a festival nobody’s going to follow for the most part, but they have no problem following Easter or Christmas, days that God has never ordained for us to follow. But no one seems to want to follow God’s holy days or follow God’s laws.
I’ll read to you a warning that God gives in the New Testament, written by Paul to the Galatians. It’s chapter six, if you want to follow and find it. And it’s in relation to sinning. And it says in verse seven, Do not be deceived. God is not mocked. For whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. For he who sows to his flesh will reap corruption. But he who sows to the spirit of the Spirit, he shall reap everlasting life. Again, you notice you don’t have everlasting life. But it’s important that we realize that as a people, when things happen, sometimes it’s not global warming, or it’s not things that are of nature. It really has to do, maybe, with God giving us a wake-up call to do something. And as I keep saying, The Plain Truth is about the news, and God is the greatest news giver and newscaster of all times. And he also makes the news, and he also predicts the news, and he can also use the news to get us to change our evil ways.
And America has for many years now, this is not new, but America has for many years now just simply used science, logic, common sense, human ego, to explain why things happen to other people, thinking it will never happen to us. Of course, those people that, these people though, however, find out it does happen to them when these natural disasters occur, and takes away their family, or takes away their loved ones, and then they’re, oh God, why did you let it happen? I will say here, not every case of a storm, or a flood, or a hurricane, or a tornado, or an earthquake, has to do with God’s relationship with us, or trying to give us a message. Sometimes these things just do happen. But when they’re happening over, and over, and over again, would it hurt to realize that God can control the weather? He can control the natural phenomena that is happening. And if we as a people were to go to God, and ask God for help, and to help the people, first of all, that experience this tragedy, but also as a nation, wonder why are these wildfires happening everywhere? Why are bad storms happening everywhere? Why are there tornadoes killing countless scores of people across the country? Yeah, people say it’s always happened. No, not to the degree it’s happening now. And that is why liberals, and a lot people who do not want to believe in God, that’s why they try to blame natural things like global warming, or man-made this, or somehow blame Trump. Trump has a lot to be blamed for maybe lately, but not necessarily all the weather events happening. That’s a national problem, and maybe as a nation we should turn to God and ask God to do something.
The next thing I really want to read is in the entire book of Hosea chapter 4, and I’ll read this to you in the New King James version. I’m not reading out of The Plain Truth version, just in case people think I made it up, you know, The Plain Truth translation to point things only my way. So I’m going to just go to a generic New King James version, and chapter 4 of Hosea says, here the word of the Lord, you children of Israel, and we are Israel. I know many people don’t want to believe that, but that’s who we are. For the Lord brings charge against the inhabitants of the land. There is no truth, or mercy, or any knowledge of God in the land. You’re swearing, and lying, and killing, and stealing, and committing adultery. You break all types of restraint with bloodshed after bloodshed. Therefore, the land will mourn, and everyone who dwells there will waste away. Wild beasts will be in the field, and the birds of the air, and even the fish of the sea will be taken away. Now let no man contend or reprove another, for your people are like those who contend with the priest. Therefore, you shall stumble in the day. The prophet also shall stumble with you along in the night, and I will destroy your mother. My people are destroyed because of their lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I will reject you from being with me.
One of the knowledges we lack as a people is the knowledge of the Bible, the knowledge of what God expects for us, the law, as many New Testament preaching churches, Christian churches want to try to teach you, has not been done away with as they claim it has been. The law of God still applies, and when we as a people refuse to follow the laws of God, treat people humanely, treat our neighbor as we would treat ourselves, and follow the Ten Commandments, maybe God will then listen to our prayers. Do you know there’s places in the Bible, I won’t read it right now, where God says, I will not hear the prayers of these people. Do not pray for them, Jeremiah, because God gets to a point where he no longer wants to even hear our prayers, because our prayers are self-centered lies, making excuses for our sins, and trying to say they’re not sins at all.
We have a whole group of people who are homosexual or transsexual, whatever the term is today, who say that God loves them the way they are. Well, God does not love them the way they are. God does not condone such practices, and we as a government and as a people condone it. And what do we have? Healthcare crisis. We have all kinds of diseases, and inflammations, and heart disease, and all sorts of health issues caused by our own actions, which are breaking God’s natural law. And we can try to think it isn’t us, but it is us. In Zechariah 7, 8, let me see if I get there, I don’t have everything ready in my Bible, but in Zechariah 7, 8, this is another verse of the same idea that God says, that word of the Lord came to Zechariah saying, thus saith the Lord of hosts, execute true justice, show mercy and compassion, everyone to his brother or sister, do not oppress the widow or the fatherless, do not oppress the alien that is living with you or the poor, let nobody or none of you plan evil in their heart against their brethren. That is, again, God, that’s Old Testament, but you can find the same principles in the New Testament, that is God telling us that we have to change our ways, or the calamity will still happen. Now, in the story of King David, when he sinned and he counted the people in a census when he was told not to, God started killing innocent people. That’s in your Bible. And David cried to God and said, these people are like sheep, why should they have to die for my sins? God gave David a choice of three choices. And when David admitted his sin and he chose one of the three choices, God had the plague that killed thousands of innocent people. Yes, innocent people, God does help kill innocent people sometimes to wake a nation up when their leaders are also sinning against God, showing arrogance and not paying attention to what’s happening around them or caring about others around them. God cares about everything. And you may say, well, how can God care about innocent people if he’s killing them? Remember, God is the judge of all the earth.
God makes us, he finds us in the womb and he delivers us. And every single person who dies will come back to life again to judgment. And if they were good, decent people, they will be given life. So God is the only person, the only being, the God of Jesus Christ and God the Father that can bring the dead back to life. Now, when we do something that kills people, we have no power to bring people back to life. God does. And that’s an important distinction that we have to make, that God has the right to do what he wants to do to us. He has a right to do what he wants to do to a nation or to its people. Even innocent people suffer when the nation as a whole breaks God’s laws and turns their back to God. And that, my friends, is the news. That’s part of the news. That’s the news you don’t get from TV. That’s the news you don’t really get from the newspapers or from most websites online. You don’t get the news that God is behind natural calamities at times to get the people to wake up, see the errors of their ways, and repent and stop being evil. Start obeying God’s laws and do so happily. And that’s the whole purpose of the show today. I just, it’s not going to be, I don’t think it’s going to be the average long show, but it’s still going to be about what we can do as a people. If we go to God as a people in prayer, fasting and prayer, it never hurts to fast, but pray constantly. And the Bible has a verse that says, never pray without ceasing, it says. We are to pray to God for what’s happening to this country. It doesn’t take too many people to realize there’s something wrong. California, Southern California around Los Angeles, burnt to the ground. North Carolina, South Carolina, all the way down into Georgia was burning. We had hurricanes that went through Florida last year.
We had that hurricane that went from Florida all the way up to North Carolina and destroyed a part of Western North Carolina that to this day is still in disrepair. Just like LA, by the way, I think there’s only four permits been issued to rebuild some 6,000 homes and businesses that were burnt to the ground. So we have a lot of problems, and it is time that we understand that we do have an ability to help solve these problems. If we go to God, is there anything too hard for the Lord to do?
I’ll be right back.

So back to the national and natural disasters happening across the land right now. To me, when it was happening, when Barack Obama was president, and I was writing about it on The Plain Truth, that maybe our leader is causing problems with us. We said the same thing when Joe Biden was president, by the way, there was all kinds of disasters happening around the world, for that matter, and many times the inept presidency of Biden just allowed it to continue, and they doubled down with global warming, and they doubled down with queers in schools teaching our children, they doubled down with all the evil that God says not to do, and we as a people suffered for it.
Well, I can say the same thing about President Trump. There is some arrogance there, and I still support President Trump, but this arrogance has to go away, because if it does not, American people will suffer. The leaders of a country sometimes reflect the attitudes of the people of that country, and sometimes God is just not happy. God does not like arrogant people. God does not like a nation of arrogance, and God does not like people who look for any other reason for things to happen and not attribute it to God, because their churches tell them not to, and therefore change their evil ways, and what happens is more and more catastrophes happen, and that’s what I think has been going on in America now for a long time, but especially these past two to three years, and I will say that with the change of a president, and I think we have a better president than Joe Biden, I think there’s mistakes being made, and there’s arrogance especially being shown, but at the same time, the problems, the weather-related problems of this, and the fires and stuff like that, maybe some of those are caused intentionally by people, but God’s still behind it.
God can stop it from happening.
He can make a fire go out with a rainstorm if he wanted to, so when these things happen, it is our duty, if we believe in the God of the Bible, to read the Bible and see what people did when things were going wrong, and they would go to God as a group, as a church, as a whole assembly of the people of the nation, they and their leaders and their high priest at the time, or their clergy, as we would call it today, would go to God and say, why is this happening to us? And then God would listen and see if the people had a repenting heart and see if the people were willing to change their ways, and when he was convinced that that was the case, good times happened. Good times come from God. That’s what the Bible says, and that is the news. Good times do come from God. And I just want to say today, and we could replay this show over and over again at different times because it’s universal, it’s a universal subject, that when we do not go to God with our problems, the problems do not go away. Most of the time, those problems magnify, especially if those problems were coming from God in the first place, trying to give us a message. And I’m starting to think, when I watch the news and I see all of these people drowning and these people losing their homes in fires and hurricanes and flash floods going down mountains and destroying entire towns, I am thinking that as a people, we have lost our way, not only when it comes to the economy, not only it comes with our laziness of not wanting to work. I say one of the big problems we have about bringing manufacturing back to this country, as our president wants to have happen, is we have to have people willing to work.
I remember in 1980, just before Ronald Reagan, when he was elected and just before he became president, Merle Haggard, and I mentioned this song before, had a song, are the good times really over for good? And he goes through a lot of verses in that song explaining how a man used to work in the old days and want to work, and women used to cook and want to cook and know how to cook, and not just use TV dinners to feed their family, with junk food that again causes all kinds of health problems, causing the disease epidemics and high insurance rates and hospitals filled with patients because they are eating trash, and a lot of the foods we buy, the fast foods especially, are just not good for us. So there’s many things that we can do to change our destiny naturally, physically, just by doing right things, not doing bad, harmful things to our bodies, but at the same time, the most important thing we can do is go to God and ask God to change things. And I know today, most people listening to this program is going to think, nobody’s going to do this, or the majority of Americans are not going to do this. That’s because the majority of Americans do not want to change their ways. The guy who is fooling around with his next-door neighbor’s wife really doesn’t see anything wrong with it. Unfortunately, there was a time, I think, in American society when people were in affairs that they should not have been in, and they were having illicit sexual encounters with someone else’s married partner, people were guilty about it.
But I see people today, they are not guilty about their sin. The Bible has a verse where it says the people parade their sins. I mean, they make a parade about their sins, gay pride movement parades, maybe. But we as a people have to realize that sometimes our actions against God’s laws and against God’s principles is what is causing our calamities that is happening to this country. And they will continue until we go to God and we start reading his word, which is the Bible, and we start putting our hearts in the right place. We’re all sinners. I’m a sinner. I continue to keep thinking bad things. I see a pretty girl walking down the street. I have the same thoughts that most guys have. And I’m 70 years old, or I’m going to be real soon. It doesn’t go away, but you have to know it’s wrong. If you don’t think it’s wrong, then you have no chance of God listening to your prayers. If you think what you’re doing by going your own way and not caring what God really does think about you, and or thinking that God doesn’t even exist, then you’re responsible for your own actions.
One of the things that this country fails in right now is our government and our leaders, and especially I would say the Democratic Party more than any other, wants to keep making excuses for people who want to sin and who want to break the law and who do not want to follow the right way. Our leaders don’t even practice morality, and many do not even believe in morality. It’s morality as you see it, as you see fit. It’s okay. So we got pedophilia. We got homosexuality. We got people fooling around on other people’s wives and husbands. We have sexual sins. We have every type of thing going on that God abhors, and the New Testament God, the Father of the New Testament, and Jesus Christ, who was the Lord of the Old Testament, is not forgiving these people. I got news for you. Those who believe that Jesus Christ loves everybody, and he forgives everybody, it’s just not the case. If that was the case, the trials and tribulations that are coming that you read about in the book of Revelation would not happen if Jesus was just going to forgive the world for everything they were going to do. There are bad times coming ahead someday called the Great Tribulation, and that’s God bringing that.
That’s not global warming.
That’s not Germany attacking its neighbor or America doing something wrong to its neighbor or anything of the like.
It’s coming from God, and why is God bringing that tribulation?
Because of our disobedience, because we refuse to listen to the laws of God and to obey God and to love God and to show our love by following what he tells us to do.
You know, I say over and over again, there is a verse in the scripture where Jesus says, in vain do they worship me. In vain. In vain do they worship me, and he says later on in that same verse, people will come to me on that judgment day and say, Lord, Lord, we loved you. We healed people in your name, and we followed everything we think was right in our hearts, and I will say to them, away from me, Jesus says, you who practice lawlessness. That’s the real God. That’s the real Jesus. That’s not the Beddy Time children’s version of Jesus in the children’s Bible who forgives every type of sin, and no matter what you do, Jesus loves you. Well, that is not the plain truth, friends, and we are not overboard. We are not over the edge.
We are not the Titanic yet. We’re getting really close to being the Titanic going down, but I still think we can, as Ronald Reagan was able to do with this country, and the country kind of followed him, and the end of that Merle Haggard song was, we can stop doing the bad things. We can make good cars. We can have a work ethic again and not want to sit home and live off the government welfare check or think I can have whatever I want, and I don’t care what my neighbor thinks or what my government thinks or even what my God thinks, and that’s where we’re at today, and I think some of these disasters happening has a reason, and it’s about time we start looking inward and outward, look at our neighbors, and look at our leaders because, you know, our leaders are a lot of the problem. If you’re a Democrat, you can’t find anything good that President Donald Trump does, even when he does good. If you’re a Republican, you can’t find anything good that a Democrat did when he was president, even though your Republican president is doing the same exact thing today, and then you make excuses for it, but you didn’t make excuses for the Democrat when he did it, and we see this time and time again. You watch the news, and if it’s MSNBC, it’s anti-Trump and pro-Democrats no matter what the truth is, and if you watch Fox News, Trump is never wrong. Follow Trump, and you will find wealth and prosperity, and God will love you. The truth, the plain truth, lies in between the two.
So anyway, this is Bob Barney with a thought, and I hope it reaches some people’s hearts, and maybe a nation will say to themselves, gosh, maybe we should try God for a change instead of depending on government, depending on sciences, depending on Dr. Fauci, or depending on President Trump. Maybe we as a people should think about what we can do individually and collectively to make God pleased with us and maybe stop what’s going on.
Well, that’s my diatribe for today. I hope I didn’t turn everybody off, but I do hope you’d look within, and you look without, and you read the Bible, and you read the stories in the Bible that the churches don’t talk about. All of the calamity that God allowed to happen to his people, including being destroyed completely and wiped off the face of the earth, and taken as slaves throughout the whole world. That’s what happened to Israel and to Judah, and that can happen again. It is going to happen again, by the way. The Bible is clear.
The tribulation is coming, and when it comes, Judah and Israel are going back into captivity under the domination of Western Europe, or I should say maybe Central Europe, Germany, Italy, places like that, and Austria. That’s the future, but it doesn’t have to happen now. It really doesn’t, my friends. We can change it. This is Bob Barney for The Plain Truth today, brought to you by theplaintruth.com, asking us all to go to God in prayer and see what happens, because I think we could be surprised to see what the result will be if a nation turns to God and doesn’t turn to science or government. Bye-bye.
