Hello, this is Bob Barney with The Plain Truth Today. Today is Monday, but more importantly, it is September 16th which in God’s calendar is the first day of the seventh month of the year. The seventh month is the holiest month in God’s calendar. The English translation of the day is called the Feast of Trumpets.
I mentioned this in a broadcast a few weeks ago in that The Feast of Trumpets is a feast that blows a trumpet, and every time you hear a trumpet being blown in the Bible, it is about a warning being given. It’s like what a newscaster would have when he’s giving the news. He’s blasting the news out. The Feast of Trumpets is a symbolic day which is broadcasting the news through trumpets being blown. They were made of a ram’s horns back in the day and blown on the first day of that the holy month to proclaim it has started. In 10 days from today will be the Day of Atonement when we are to fast, denying ourselves, and remember what Jesus Christ did for us. Then five days after that or 15 days from now is a holiday, a vacation time for God’s people called the Feast of Tabernacles, aka the Feast of Tents or the Feast of Booths. This is when people were supposed to live in temporary shelters with intent to remind them that their body is a temporary body, a temporary shelter. This represents that we will become a new person when you are resurrected from the dead when Christ returns if you are a Christian.
2:03 Today we’ll have some stories about the Feast of Trumpets on the main page of the Plain Truth as well as on the Message Board, but that is just a forerunner to what I want to talk about on the start of this seventh month, this holy month. This date is not in any way in accordance with the Jewish calendar. This year the Jewish seventh month as well as their Feast of Trumpets, Tabernacles, and their Day of Atonement are way off target from when it should be.
2:58 I have done a specific program many times in the past which I first wrote in article form back in 2008 in which I entitled, why the Middle East will always be in your future. When you do take the time to read this, you will learn how the Middle East is always going to be able to take over the news at a moment’s notice. We may be going along thinking about the election, going along thinking about one thing or another, you name it, and in a blink of an eye, God can make something happen in the Middle East which absolutely will dominate the news cycle. It could be possibly about elections, or about war and rumors of war namely World War III type situations. This is what I will be digging in to in this show and I may even repeat the show right underneath this one.
3:31 I mainly want to stress to be aware of this. I said this last year during the Feast time to be aware as well and that it seems like, my wife Tammy always says this to me every year when something happens, as it always seems to happen during our Feast. Sometimes it happens during the Jewish holidays as well when it has to do with the nation of Israel. The nation of Israel by the way, is really Judah. Things just seem to happen during these times where God changes the news radically when these Feast times come around…when the seventh month, the holiest month of the year comes around. God can change the news in the blink of an eye, and I am saying we should be aware right now as to what could be the cause of a major calamity coming in the next 30 to 60 days in my opinion. There could also be a way God is going to really alter this election even more so than we are seeing today because it doesn’t take a very smart person to realize that the Democratic Party today, the deep state in general, and the old RINO Republicans are a bunch of war hawks. They are always looking for a war somewhere that we can fight or send our soldiers to fight, where we spend billions of dollars so politicians can get kickbacks from the military arms industry.
That’s what it’s all about.
5:04 But when I spoke about the idea that in a moment’s notice God can change the news, I am suggesting that everything you were thinking was important, no longer remains important.
Now yesterday, I’m sure everybody knows this by now, but Sunday we had a situation again where somebody tried to shoot Donald Trump on his golf course in West Palm Beach. That is what had totally taken over the news and it probably will continue to do so this entire week. It will all be about who this person was, what his motivations were, (like we don’t know), and about what’s going to be the result of this attempt. But let’s say, as some experts are now predicting and is something I saw yesterday morning on TV…let’s say Iran decides to do something on October 7th, which would be during our feast time, and also the anniversary of the October 7th attack on the Jewish people by Hamas a year ago. Do not be surprised if Iran decides to use that date, which would be in God’s holy time, his Feast of Tabernacles, or possibly the Jewish Day of Atonement, not God’s actual Day of Atonement, because the Jews follow a different calendar than God. But either on our Day of Atonement, which is September 25th or like I suggested, on October 7th, or any time from September 29th to October 7th.
6:12 Let’s say it is the Feast of Tabernacles to the Lord, the one that the Bible tells us to follow, or the significant days on the Jewish calendar and Iran decides to attack Israel with ICBM missiles and take out a lot of cities. Think about the retribution from Israel as it will be something like the world has never seen since maybe World War II. I believe it could be much worse because I think Israel is realizing, especially Benjamin Netanyahu, he realizes he’s on his own. He realizes that he has no support from the Biden administration, that he has no support from Democrats in Congress, and that he has very little support from Europe; probably none really. He probably has it worse than America because he has enemies throughout the world trying to annihilate his little, tiny nation. I believe if Iran were to go and attack Israel in a way that killed tens of thousands of people in an ICBM missile attacks on Tel Aviv, I don’t think they would attack Jerusalem because of the Arab population, but they still may. It will be mainly Tel Aviv and their military installations as well. I think you would find Israel doing a major re-attack on everybody in the area that they consider an enemy and that would include taking out all in the Gaza Strip. It would involve taking out Hezbollah in Lebanon, taking out parts of Syria, possibly, and annihilating Iran.
If that would not shock the world, and especially shock our election, I don’t know what would.
8:05 Why? Because we have such a weak presidency…we have such an absolute illiterate and moronic presidency with a moronic vice president who’s trying to run for the presidency. Someone who would absolutely be the worst thing that ever happened to this country if she could ever get elected. I think there are still many people who are on the fence about which way they’re going to vote. I think everybody at this point, people know if they are going to vote for Donald J Trump or Kamala Harris. There are some people who don’t like either candidate of course and they’re deciding if they are going to vote for one of the two, or just stay home. If they stay home, it doesn’t affect the election as much as if they end up voting, I will tell you that. If those people vote, it could be catastrophic to one side or the other. I also think if an attack on Israel was to occur in the next 30 to 60 days, it would have to be before 60 days actually because the election I think is about 50 days away so before that I mean…I think that would sway the election to Donald Trump in a landslide like we’ve never seen in our life. This would be so because I think Jewish Americans who are still 65% of the population, if you believe the polls, are going to vote for Kamala Harris yet only 35% are saying they’re going to vote for Donald Trump.
9:19 Regarding the Jewish people, I don’t even understand the death wish that these Jewish Americans have for themselves and for their people back in the nation of Judah. (The nation we call Israel). How can it be that they’re still voting for someone who absolutely hates them and wants to see them destroyed as a people…who support Hamas and these so-called pro-Palestinian terrorists in America who are threatening the lives of American citizens, burning our flag, and trying to attack Jewish students in colleges and everywhere else they can find a Jew in America. It’s almost as bad as what was going on in 1930 Germany under Adolf Hitler! Where Jews were just being tortured and rounded up and assaulted! What I am mentioning was long before the concentration camps and before World War II began. The Jews were being absolutely picked out and molested by the Germans. We have not seen anything like that against Jews until now. It is shocking how it is now in the United States of America and in the Western European nations…it is unconscionable.
9:55 I think this is what could wake people up to what’s really going on. It would be the threat of a world war that begins with Iran going after Israel. It would result in total annihilation of many people in Iran…and Hamas in the Gaza Strip, and the Hezbollah in Lebanon. I think it could get people in such a state of shock that all the mainstream media including Fox News, Newsmax, the newspapers, magazines, social media even like Facebook and Truth Social posts all of the sudden would shift gears. They would move from reporting on this election to what’s going on in the world with the war again in the Middle East. That is why I want to go into the program I mentioned I had done in the past…Why the Middle East Will Always Be in Your Future. It is important so here is a recap as to why they will be in our future.
11:40 You can go motorcycling along, having a good time, thinking everything’s good. You could be waiting for the election, thinking it’s going to be Donald Trump, or if you’re a Kamala Harris fan, thinking she’s going to run away with this election. You are going along just following the polls awaiting November 5th and in a moment’s notice there could be an attack. An attack on Israel or South Korea, maybe even an attack on Taiwan. I would say usually during the holy times, it will always be an attack somewhere in the Middle East that will get the attention of the world, and everyone will forget what they were talking about before that. All of the sudden they will decide that the Middle East again is the ugly scene that will get all of their attention. As a result, it may also shift the way people are going to vote, and the collective says enough is enough.
Point being…God can change the news in a heartbeat!
12:19 Never ever be disillusioned about or misinformed about the fact that God is in the news. He is! We keep saying that the plain truth is not a religion, and we are not a church, but we are a news site. God is the biggest newsmaker and newscaster that’s ever been, and God can change events in this world to make God’s message change in a heartbeat so that His will, will be done. World leaders and the liberals or the woke people or even the conservatives or the neocons cannot change when God decides another shift is coming. He will get into the news and change the headlines for tomorrow, and that could be the case within these next 30-45 days, so I just wanted people to be aware of this..,today…on this a momentous day in God’s calendar which is called the Feast of Trumpets. I am sounding a verbal trumpet for everyone who is listening to this broadcast, today.
13:09 Back to the Feast of Trumpets…in ancient Israel when they needed to sound a warning of war or of any kind of news event, the people would blow a ram’s horns which we render as trumpets today. They called it shofar, s-h-o-f-a-r. They take a ram’s horn, they gouge it out, hollow it out so it can be blown into, and they can make a pretty impressive sound. I have heard them in my life! So the people would hear the horn sounding, and they knew that they had to pay attention because something was going to happen that God was inspiring. So, today is the day that symbolizes this, and many times in my brief history of this faith that I have and the understanding that I have of God and his word, the Bible, that many times on these days and during this month, many world-shattering events have happened. Events that have shifted everyone from what was going on the day before anda from what everybody thought was important the day before…and all of the sudden these things were no longer important.
That is what today symbolizes.
Everyone is supposed to be aware of today.
God actually calls The Feast of Trumpets a Holy Day in God’s calendar. If you could do so…it is a day of rest. God didn’t really want anyone to work on this day. He wanted them to take it off as a special Sabbath.
13:45 People misunderstand the Sabbath by the way. Everyone thinks they know what the word Sabbath means as it pertains to just Saturday, but it also means in scripture that any holy day that you’re told to take off and not work on is also called a Sabbath. In fact, during Passover, when Christ was crucified, which really happened on a Wednesday, the Passover was the next day for the Jews. They were on the wrong calendar, and that’s why it was the next day, and that is why in the book of John, the Gospel of John, it talks about they had to get Jesus down off the cross because the Sabbath was about to begin, which was a high Sabbath, and that’s what John calls it, a high Sabbath. What is a high Sabbath? It is not the Saturday Sabbath. A high Sabbath is a Sabbath day that is actually a holy day during one of the feast times and can fall on a day that is not the 7th day.
16:06 So, for example, today is a high Sabbath day for this month, which reigns in the seventh month of the year. Again, the Day of Atonement, which starts in the evening of the ninth day of God’s calendar, and it goes through the tenth day until evening of God’s calendar, is again another high Sabbath. The tenth is a high Sabbath, and it can fall on a Wednesday, a Tuesday, a Monday, even a Saturday for that matter, but it doesn’t necessarily fall on a Saturday. So every time you hear the word Sabbath in the Bible, it does not always imply a Saturday Sabbath. It can be a high Sabbath, like what today is. It can be a special Sabbath that God does want us to follow. Again, ten days from now or nine days from now at nighttime of the ninth, we are to deny ourselves, the Bible says, and most people take that, and it’s always been called, even the Apostle Paul calls it, the fast, where you’re not to eat or drink for 24 hours from the evening of the ninth day. You notice they don’t say from the beginning of the tenth day at evening. They say from the evening of the ninth day until the evening of the tenth day. It is a fast day for the people to remember their sins, and now in the New Testament times, to remember who redeemed us of our sins. Our scapegoat and our lamb that was sacrificed to take away the sins is no longer just an animal that could only cover sins and not atone for our sins. We have the very God of the Old Testament, the Yahweh, the Jehovah, as some people pronounce it, the God who spoke to Adam and Eve, who gave the Ten Commandments to Moses, who is David’s Lord, the God who spoke throughout the Old Testament…was none other than the God we know as today is the personage of Jesus Christ when he walked this earth…but He was and is the God of the Old Testament!
He’s the One who ordained these holy days and told us to observe them and to keep them.
That is what you should be doing if you are a true Christian.
You should be following the Saturday Sabbath, and you should be following God’s holy days.
18:41 The holy days, of course, are Passover week, Unleavened Bread, the Feast of First Fruits, Pentecost, the Feast of Trumpets, the Day of Atonement, and then the Feast of Tabernacles, followed by an eighth day, which is going to be October 7th this year, as it is every year, called the Last Great Day. The Last Great Day symbolizes the time after the millennium when God the Father brings a new heaven and a new earth with Him to us. This is when those reigning with Christ will then enter into a new heaven and a new earth and a new Jerusalem, and it is symbolized when we follow the eighth day of God’s feast.
19:53 You know, when you follow God’s holidays, you understand the plan of God. When you follow Halloween or Christmas or Easter or New Year’s Day on January 1st, there is nothing that prepares the Christian to understand what God’s ultimate purpose is, and it’s very important to realize that is why you’re not supposed to honor those days. They are just paganized holidays that the early Catholic Christian church made Christian, and there is nothing Christian about Christmas, there’s nothing Christian about Easter, which is really named after the pagan god, Astarte, which you find in your Bible, and God condemns those who worship Astarte or worship during a sunrise service on the day of Astarte, which we call Easter Sunday morning.
20:14 What God wants us to do is to follow His Sabbath day, number one, follow His Ten Commandments, His law, number two, but also observe the Holy Days so that we can understand what the plan of God is. It’s very important to understand God’s plan through God’s holidays. It’s that simple. So this is the day of the Feast of Trumpets, and like I said, ten days from today or nine nights, nine days from now on the evening, and then really tenth day of this month of God’s month, which is September 24th in the evening, and it goes into the day of the September 25th, will be the fast. The fast really requires you to eat no food or drink no liquids, not even water. Now, I understand, and we’ll have a show on this topic when the Day of Atonement comes explaining that there are people with health issues that have to eat something. There are people that may have to have some kind of a juice, or they may have to have something because they’re diabetic, or they have other ailments…and many people, especially senior citizens, may have to drink some water throughout the day in order to stay alive because you don’t want to have to have a medical event because you’re trying to follow God’s fast day. Remember, it is not following to the letter of the law of the holidays that God wants you to follow. In many places in the Old and New Testament, God says, I desire your mercy and not your sacrifice. God wants us to follow the fast day, but he wants us not to kill ourselves on the fast day as well. We are to do rational things to make sure that we can follow it in the spirit of the law even if we can’t follow it in the letter of the law.
22:00 That is what so many so-called Seventh-day Christians fail to recognize and who become too legalistic trying to follow the law. They do so as if the law is going to do something for them. They can’t follow the law. The Bible is clear. You don’t have the ability to follow the law, but you should try to follow it. You should want to follow it, and you should admit you are a sinner, and then therefore the blood of Christ atones for your sins.
22:29 The Apostle John says in 1 John, if you read the first chapter, that if we say we are without sin, we make him a liar, so we are a sinner. But if we confess our sins to God, He is faithful to forgive our sins, and that is what today, the fast day of the Day of Atonement, the Feast of Tabernacles, the Passover week, the festival of Pentecost in the spring, at the end of spring and the beginning of summer, that is what these days symbolize. God wants us to remember these days and put Christ in these days because that is really who these days were all intended to represent and to foreshadow, and to try and follow as best we can and always realize God is looking at our hearts and what we’re trying to do and not physically what we can do. God is a very loving and forgiving God, and God understands human frailty. He understands your frailty and mine. He understands a diabetic has special needs. He understands that certain people can’t go without fluids. Their kidneys will shut down or some other malady will happen to their bodies.
God is not expecting you to do something to the letter of the law, to the letter of the holiday, only to find yourself in the hospital because of it.
23:45 God wants your heart with Him…and not necessarily all of your body because God understands your body is carnal, it’s weak, and it has to be someday abolished, done away with, where you will inherit a new spiritual body. With this new body you can do everything in the Spirit without problem, and you will also never sin again yet until that day happens, and that day is being called being born again from the dead. This is when you go from being mortal to becoming immortal… on the day you’re resurrected from the dead if you are a Christian. This happens when Christ returns, the very moment that Christ returns and the trumpet blows…the trumpet, remember reading in Revelation, the trumpet blows, could be a day of atonement, or it could be a feast of trumpets when He returns. We don’t know that for sure…but…
When the trumpet blows, the dead and Christ will arise to everlasting life. This mortal body, according to the Apostle Paul in 1 Corinthians 15, will be made immortal, and it will only happen when Christ returns. Until then, the dead in Christ sleep. I hate to use that word, because so many people say, oh, that soul’s sleeping, but that’s what the Bible says. You read both Revelation, when the dead in Christ arise, you read it in 1 Thessalonians, and you read it in 1 Corinthians 15, that the dead people in Christ go to sleep, and they are in a grave, and they remain in that grave until the moment that Jesus Christ returns!
So, I want to wish you a Happy Feast of Trumpets and remember this, the news will change in a moment, in a blink of an eye, when God wants it to…so be aware. Jesus said, be aware. He said to watch therefore, so you are not deceived.
26:07 This is a very tremendous and tumultuous time that we are living in right now before this election. So make sure to watch the Middle East and be aware that from the Middle East you inherit your destiny. What’s going to happen to you physically in this world, and spiritually in this world, and in the world to come, all has to do with what’s going to happen in the Middle East.
So, war could be coming right around the corner, I pray that it does not, but watch therefore, and see if it does not happen, and if it does, you’ve been warned.

The Plain Truth tries to show you that what you’re going through each and every day in addition to what’s happening in this world all has a relationship to how God is involved and is about what He has planned for this world. All of this is so important and points to His return where He will save us from ourselves. Ultimately, we, without God’s help, would bring ourselves to total destruction, probably a total world war-type nuclear destruction. Yet what God promises us in Matthew 24, is such an important thing. If you could just do one thing today, read Matthew 24, all of it, and understand where we may be right now, and First Corinthians 15 of what your fate and your destiny is if you want to be a Christian. It is then that you will understand God’s purpose.
