The Plain Truth is so Happy That You Have Been Enjoying Bob’s Broadcasts.
2000 years ago, a newscaster that we know of as Jesus Christ warned us about false Christianity. The warning was not against the devil but against false Christianity…about people who come in His name and deceive many.
CLICK TO LISTEN TO THE PLAIN TRUTH TODAY MIDDAY BROADCAST: Do you really believe in Jesus Christ and what he actually said

Hi, Bob Barney with The Plain Truth today, brought to you by theplaintruth.com, and I have a question for you today. Some of these shows I start out with a question. Do you believe in Jesus Christ and do you believe what he had to say? Or are you just a believer and you don’t care what he had to say? Well, I’m going to spend a little bit of time today, probably only today, giving you quotes from Jesus Christ that I bet you you do not believe in, and that is the subject of who was Jesus Christ and do you really believe in him or do you just believe on him? For example, in Hebrews chapter 5 verse 9, it says that Christ brings salvation to all of those who, what, believe on him? No, that obey him.
Look that up for yourself if you want to see one of the first things you probably do not understand about the real Jesus and what you think is in the Bible that just is not there, and I’ll get into some more shocking things in a minute here. Jesus actually said, if you love me, you will obey me and keep my commandments. Do you keep Jesus’s commandments, the commandments that he wrote with his own finger on stone for Moses some 2,500 years before he walked this earth, including the fourth commandment, the commandment to require us to honor the Sabbath day, which happens to be Saturday and not Sunday? Is that one of the commandments that you follow when Jesus says, if you love me, you will obey me and follow my commandments? That’s one question I have.In Matthew, for example, chapter 5, read it for yourself. He says, do not think that I have come to abolish the law or the prophets. I have not come to abolish them, I’ve come to magnify them.
And I say to you, not one little comma or period from the law, the commandments, will by any ways disappear until everything is accomplished. Has everything that Christ set out to do, has it been accomplished? Can you answer that question? Because you know that Christ did not accomplish everything. He has not returned to this earth as he promised he would come back here and save us from ourselves. So again, I ask this question, if he did not come to abolish the law, then why does the church that you probably attend preach that Jesus came to abolish the law when he said no such thing? He also said, for example, I did not come to bring peace on earth, I came to bring division on earth. Yet Christmas time, we always hear, peace on earth, goodwill to all men. And by the way, that’s not even found in the Bible.
You look it up for yourself, you’re going to find out that it’s misquoted the way it’s said at Christmas time. But Christ actually said he came to bring division. A father against his son, and a boy against his mother, and a person against their family. That’s what he said. Do you believe what he said, or do you believe what your church teaches? He also says that if you love him, you will keep his commandments, and that his commandments are not grievous to follow. Do you believe that? Do you practice that? Do you follow the ten commandments, including the Sabbath day? That is what Jesus said to do.It is the same Jesus, by the way, in Matthew 24, talking about the end times, talking about when the world is coming to an end, before he comes and saves us from ourselves by a miraculous intervention into world affairs, when we’re about to annihilate ourselves. He said, pray that your flight is not on a Sabbath day. Well, if Christ came to do away with the Sabbath day and turn it into Sunday, why is he at the end of this age, when we’re not even there yet, saying that we should pray that we should not have to flee on a Sabbath day? Not a Sunday, but a Sabbath day.
Did Christ not know at that time that there was going to be a Sunday replacing a Sabbath day? Was Christ unaware of the fact that the Sabbath day was made for man, and man was not made for the Sabbath day? And by the way, the Sabbath was made for man, it was not made for Jews. Nowhere does it call it a Jewish Sabbath day. Do we follow the things that Jesus said we should do? Do we obey him? Do we believe in him? Do we believe what he said, or do we believe what our pastor, or our minister, or our father in the Catholic church says? Because too often, I’m afraid, that we listen to what is taught to us, and we never read the Bible for ourselves. It’s about time, and I’ve said this broadcast after broadcast, it’s about time that we start to think about looking into the real Bible, read the book. You know, we read Ben-Hur, or we read Stephen King novels, and if there’s a movie that disagrees with a Stephen King novel, people will say, well that wasn’t in the book. But we watch movies about Jesus Christ that are no way anywhere similar to what is written about him in the Bible, and we follow what the movie says, and not necessarily what the Bible says.
Here’s some other things that the Bible says, or that Jesus says about himself, that we just simply, for the most part, do not believe. Churches go at length to teach us that we have an immortal soul, when in the Bible, the word immortal soul never appears. As a matter of fact, you’ll never find the word immortal except when it’s connected to God, because the Bible clearly says only God is immortal. Not even the angels are immortal, only God the Father and Jesus Christ. And here’s another problem that the churches teach that most of us want to believe around Christmas time, that Jesus Christ was born of the Virgin Mary, who was impregnated by the Holy Spirit. Now, most churches teach that God is a trinity, that there is God the Father, God Jesus Christ, and God the Holy Spirit, and that the Holy Spirit is a third part of the Trinity.
Yet, if the Holy Spirit is who impregnated Mary, then why did Jesus pray to his Father on the cross and not to the Holy Spirit? Was he praying to the wrong God? Did he misunderstand who his Father was? Why wasn’t he praying to the Holy Spirit, if that was his Father? But no, if you just read the Bible for yourself and understand that there is a Godhead comprised of, right now, only two beings, one being God the Father, the other being Jesus Christ, and the two are made up of the Holy Spirit, then you might understand what the idea of the Godhead really is. It’s not a trinity. Again, another lie, another lie that we believe because we do not believe the words of Jesus Christ. In fact, when God, and that is Jesus Christ as the God of the Old Testament, created man in their own image, every animal was created after the animal kind, but man was created after the God kind, after Jesus Christ and the Father. So, male and female were the two beings that make up man, and we are comprised of what? Spirit? No, we’re comprised of blood. Blood is the life-giving force, that’s why you’re not supposed to eat blood if you follow the law.
Well, God the Father and Jesus Christ are the two beings that make up the Godhead, and what are they comprised of? The Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit, therefore, is the spiritual form of our blood, which is the physical form for us. Another thing we want to believe, most of us anyway, who think we’re born again, because we don’t even understand the term born again. As Jesus explained to Nicodemus, which you can read in John 3, and we’ll get into another statement he made in John 3 that nobody wants to believe either, but in John 3, when Nicodemus came to Jesus by night, he admitted, by the way, that all the people knew he was from God, because no man could do what he was doing unless God was with him, that’s what Nicodemus said, and he was a member of the Sanhedrin, the high council of the Jewish people, that when Jesus said, you must be born again, today everyone wants to be born again, because Jesus said in order to see the kingdom of God, or be a member of the kingdom of God, you had to be born again. So they all thought, well, we’re born again because we’re a part of the kingdom, but that’s not what Jesus said, did he? Jesus plainly said to Nicodemus, who himself misunderstood Jesus, because he understood the word born again, meaning physically being born again out of a mother’s womb, Jesus said that whoever is born of flesh is flesh, and whoever is born of spirit is spirit. Then he goes on to explain, if you’re born of spirit, you’re like the wind, you can hear it sound, but you can’t see it, it can come and go and you can’t see where it’s coming or where it’s going, it is invisible.
Are you invisible? I’m not invisible, and if you’re not invisible, then you are born of flesh. All animals, and man is an animal, that science agrees with the Bible, all males and females of every species is born of flesh. Some are animal flesh, some are human flesh, but we are not born of spirit. We will be born of spirit when we are born again, which simply means we come out of the womb, which is the earth. When you die, you go to a grave. You don’t have some immortal soul whiffing on its way to heaven or going to hell because you were a bad Joe or Mary. No, you go into a grave, which was, it’s like an earth womb, where your body rots and decays, but there is an essence there that was impregnated by the Holy Spirit when you were still alive and you accepted Jesus Christ, that after Christ returns, and that you can read this in Revelation, starting with around chapter 20, read it for yourself, the order of the resurrection of the dead, and no one is alive today in heaven that died. Everyone is still in their graves, and when they are born again, it’s when that spirit comes out of the ground into a new being when you are going to look like Jesus Christ and God the Father, and you will literally be their son and brother or sister. That’s what you’re going to be.
You’re going to be God. God is recreating the God kind. We’re not made after the human kind, we’re made after the God kind, but people just simply do not want to believe what Jesus said. We’re going to get into something else in John chapter 3 that no one wants to believe, even though every football game puts up the banner. John 3 16, For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish, but have eternal life. Now, you believe that, don’t you? You watch it at the football games, you say it probably to yourself, and you feel good about it, but have you ever listened to the words? Well, here are some of the words that maybe you just overshot when you read that statement. For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish. What does perish mean? If you have apples sitting outside in the hot sun, and about four or five days later they start to rot away, and what do they do? They perish. They cease to exist.
They become part of the ground again. They become fertilizer. If you put anything out on, you know, you compost your food after you got done eating it, you put it in a compost pile, and it perishes. It becomes fertilizer for the ground. Perish means exactly what you think it means, to end, to cease to be, to rot away, to be no longer alive. That’s what it means.God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes on him or in him shall not perish. But, and what does the word but mean? Well, but means the opposite of what we just said before. The opposite of perish is eternal life. So, you do not have an immortal soul that’s going to go to heaven or hell when you die. You have a physical soul, a soul, by the way, in Ezekiel, and Jesus quotes it again, it says, the soul that sins, it shall die. We know from the Bible, if you believe what Jesus says, that souls die.Souls perish, just like your soul is going to perish when you die. But, that’s that word but again, but when Christ returns, you shall be made alive again upon his return, if you are of his. And how do you know you’re of his? You are obeying him and obeying his commandments.
Believing in Jesus Christ is not enough. You have to obey Jesus Christ. Remember the book of James, when it says, even the devils believe in Jesus Christ, of course they believe in him, they’ve seen him, they were kicked out of heaven by him, but they do not obey him and that’s what makes them devils and demons, does it not? So, in order for us to be resurrected from the dead and to put off this perished body into an immortal body, we must be born again at the time of our resurrection. It is so plain in your Bible that it’s, if you would just read it for yourself, like you would read any other novel, like you would read a Stephen King novel, The Stand for example, you would not come away with different stories. You would understand exactly what the author means. Well, the problem is, we go to churches and churches just simply do not teach the real Jesus or his message of what he brought, because most of these churches have been indoctrinated by the God of this world.
And you know, the Bible that you have, and it’s the same Bible that I have, tells you, identifies who the God of this world is. The God of this world is Satan, the devil, and you can prove it. Look that up.Who is the God of this world? Put it in a search engine. What does the Bible say the God of this world is? And you’re going to find a quote from Paul saying that the devil is the God of this world, and the God of the prince of airways. That means when he says the prince of the airwaves, he’s talking about like radio signals. Not the radio signals that you turn in on AM 790 or FM 104.5. No, it’s radio waves that only your brain can pick up. Your brain is like a radio, and it picks up demonic and spiritual messages, radio frequencies, that only your mind hears. You ever go down the road sometimes and some evil thought enters your brain? You may be a good person, you may believe in Christ, you may follow him, you may obey his commandments, you may do everything you’re supposed to do, but once in a while you have this evil thought come into your head and you feel bad about it.
Why does that happen? Because your brain, your physical brain, is actually a radio receptor for messages coming from both God and the devil. So sometimes, and that is why the devil by the way, in the millennium, is done away for for a thousand years, because of the idea that he does have the ability to enter into people’s minds when they’re just by themselves thinking. That is what happens.God understands that. Jesus understands that. Remember this quote, that Jesus was tempted in every way, like you and I, but without sin. What this means, and again, I think many people do not understand this, this means that Jesus had the same thoughts come into his head that you and I have, but was able to put them out of his head through the Holy Spirit that he had unmeasured, just to the full brim, that he did not sin. But he did have those airwaves filter his brain just like you and I do. We are all sinners, because we follow through on a lot of those thoughts when we see the pretty girl or the handsome guy that we start daydreaming about. And every human being is a sinner. That’s what the Bible says. We all come short of the glory of God.
We are not going, we had a show, just a side note here, but we had a show that we played last Sabbath day about grace and faith and works, and that you cannot work your way into salvation, but you do have to have faith in the grace that you are given, and show it by your good deeds, as the Apostle James writes. We have to obey the commandments of God, and if we loved God, Jesus says, if you love me, you will keep my commandments. It’s that simple.I’ll be right back. Bob Barney for The Plain Truth today, brought to you by theplaintruth.com, the one place to go to to find out what’s happening in the news and what God has to say about it, because God is a part of the news that you hear every day. You’re just simply not told that. That’s theplaintruth.com, where you can go to The Message Board, Your Health Today, and The Plain Truth podcast that you’re listening to right now. Thank you. So, we’re going to get back talking about some of the things that Jesus said that you don’t believe in.
And so, you don’t accept what Jesus said, you’d rather listen to what your pastor or your minister says that Jesus said. The message that Jesus Christ brought was a message about a coming kingdom that he is bringing to this earth. Everyone wants to go to heaven when they die, or they think they’re going to go to heaven when they die, but Jesus went over and over again to explain how beautiful this earth is going to be, and this is where you are going to exist for all eternity, on this earth and the new earth in heaven to come after the millennium. You are not going to heaven when you die. When you are resurrected from the dead, you are going to be reigning on this earth. And if you are alive and you’re not a Christian, you’re going to be living as a physical human being on this earth without the devil’s influence, and that is the good news. But here is some good news that you may or may not like, because the part of the gospel of Jesus Christ is that he is coming to bring peace on this earth then, not now, but when he comes, if you like it or not. He’s going to make you happy if you want to be happy or not. He is going to bring a government if you elect him or not, because he’s not going to go for an election.
This is not going to be a democracy under Jesus Christ. It’s going to be the ultimate theocracy under Jesus Christ. But the world is going to be in harmony.Animals are going to be happy. People are going to be happy. There will not be pain. There will not be suffering. There will not be agony and just total despair. So you’re going to be made happy if you want to be happy or not. It’s that simple. God is going to make you happy. This is part of the good news, the gospel, meaning the good news that Jesus Christ is bringing. He’s bringing a message now that when he returns, he’s letting you know now that his government is coming with him, and his government is regulated by his laws that we will be following during the millennium. Read all of the prophets, read all of the prophecies concerning the future, and what do you notice? You notice there’s temple sacrifices. You notice there’s Levi priest in the millennium.
You know there’s sacrifices of animals again in the millennium. You understand that many of the things that you thought and your churches teach have been done away with forever are coming back during the millennium because people are following a religion called Christianity, but they are not following Jesus Christ and what he said is going to be your future. There’s one last example in the Bible that I think that so many people overlook, and I’m actually going to play the person that I firstly used to listen to his version of it right now because I think he does a better job than I would explaining what state people are in today. Because the book is accurate. You see, it tells the truth. The Bible means what it says and says what it means. Jesus spoke deliberately continually about the kingdom of God, but he did so in parable. He says the kingdom of God is like leaven. It was hidden measures of meal. He said the kingdom of God is like a pearl. It’s like a treasure in the field. The kingdom of God is like grains that were sown.
The kingdom of God is like this. It’s like that. And then the disciples asked him, this is in Matthew 13 and verse 10, why do you talk to them in parables? And he answered and said, because it is given to you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given. Was he trying to save anybody when he was deliberately clouding his meaning so they couldn’t understand? He said in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah that says by hearing you shall hear and shall not understand and seeing you shall see and shall not perceive for this people’s heart is waxed gross and their ears are dull of hearing and their eyes they have closed lest at any time they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears and should understand with their heart and should be converted and I should heal them lest I should heal them. No, he did not come to convert the world then. He never even made an effort at it.
He came to seal and to educate and to commission his disciples and he said I will build my church and he said go you therefore into all the world. He commissioned them to do a big job. He didn’t try to save the world then. And he didn’t try to save the world then, he’s not trying to save the world now. If he was trying to save the world then, he would have accomplished it. God accomplishes whatever he tries to do. Another misconception that people have about God and the devil is they think there is this desperate battle going on in heaven and on earth between God and the demons and we don’t know who’s going to win. But there is no battle going on. Jesus has already won the battle. The devil has already been defeated. He’s still the god of this earth but he will soon be replaced by Jesus Christ. There is no trying to save the world. Christ is not trying to save the world now. He did not try to save the world 2000 years ago. He’s not trying to save you right now and neither am I. I have no, I labor under no compulsion to save anybody. I’m only under the compulsion to give the news. The plain truth is a news site and the news is Christ is coming back to save us from ourselves and if we want to be a part of it, we can be a part of it. We can join by obeying Christ. If you obey my commandments, you show my love. That’s what he’s saying. We must obey him.
We must believe in his message and we must carry out his message of a new kingdom that is coming that is not a democracy. It’s not a bunch of Republicans and Democrats shutting down a government. No, it is Christ ruling from Jerusalem with a rod of iron and he is going to have things done his way or the highway and there’s going to be nobody protesting in the streets. There’s not going to be people you know forming lines where the police have to break down barriers to get through. It’s not going to happen that way. Christ is coming with a government. That is the gospel. That is the plain truth. That is the news you need to know. Remember the biggest news you need to know is what Jesus Christ taught us some 2,000 years ago. That he is coming again to save us from ourselves. Well, that’s the plain truth for today and this is a news story about who Jesus really is and it’s about time you start reading the original documents. You know when you do research for a newspaper article or for a magazine article or for a TV show, anybody does good research, they read all the material that they need to do for the show or for the article that they’re going to write. They read all the books and all of the transcripts and all of the documents and all the old newspapers. They get to know the facts before they do their story.
Well, maybe newspaper people and television reporters don’t do that today. They just give you their biases and they find the facts that just fit their biases, but a good reporter will always show or research the true facts, bring you the facts, and let you make your own decisions and that’s what we’re doing here on the plain truth. And by the way, finally, I just want to talk about the plain truth in a very brief way before we end this show by saying the plain truth is the place to go. We have articles on how to have a happier marriage, how to how to stay healthy, what you should eat, what you shouldn’t eat, what you should do to stay healthy, what you should do to be happy, what you should do to make God happy with you, what you should do in your leisure time, how you should read the Bible, what you should understand in the news, and what the news is about, and who Jesus Christ is, and who God the Father is, and what is the important news of the day. All of that can be found in theplaintruth.com. Your health today is a part of that, and of course these podcasts, or I always call broadcast, and from the old radio days, is a part of theplaintruth.com. It’s the place that you go to that I don’t believe you’re going to find anywhere else that gives you the type of news and the explanation of the news that we do. So this is Bob Barney for theplaintruth.com saying thank you for listening. We do appreciate you, and until next time, thank you again. Bye-bye.
