Hi, Bob Barney, Plain Truth Today, brought to you by theplaintruth.com, going over some breaking stories over the weekend for this show today. 

We usually don’t talk about water cooler things here. That’s the place for that. We always put these types of stories on the Message Board, and anybody can post anything they want. But because it’s become national news over and over again, and you almost can’t turn on the TV without really being accosted, Guthrie family situation with the kidnapping of their mother, who’s been missing now for some eight days, I guess it’s nine today. And so I’m going to play a few things.

Like I said, we usually don’t get into this kind of stuff on the podcast, or even on the main page of the Plain Truth but because one of her daughters is a national TV news celebrity type, and it’s getting all kinds of national interest, I thought I would have a little bit of this show on that subject.We’re doing a lot of updates on the message board.

If you go to theplaintruth.com and you click on the Message Board, you will see quite a few stories, and we will eventually group them together in one string. But right now, we’re letting them all run separately. If you go down the front page, you’ll see all the different stories on this saga of the kidnapping of, I can’t remember her first name, Mrs. Guthrie, I should say, that you will see.

There are some things here that I think needs to be said that has a national implication. This is not like a normal kidnap, and I’ll explain that in a minute. But let me first play some of the outtakes from different shows about what most people are starting to think.

I know my brother thought this the same thing. It does seem to be an inside job. Now, there was a report on NewsNation that the son-in-law’s car was confiscated and searched, and that was the car that she last rode in.

I don’t know if that really means they think that he has something to do with it. I don’t think that’s what is the case here. But the idea that there should be somebody on the inside that did this.

Now, she did have caregivers. Remember, she was an elderly woman that had a lot of medical problems, and so they did have people taking care of her. I’d like to know, before we start anything, I’d like to know, because they’re 23 miles from the Mexican border, could drug cartels have something to do with this kidnapping? They do this, by the way.

If you’re not familiar with this, the drug cartels kidnap and hold for ransom many Americans, mainly in Mexico, but I think they have been known to go across the border. And will this lead to, and this makes me wonder, I just hate to be this conspiracy guy, but I remember about a month ago, Donald Trump said that he is ready if the drug cartels in Mexico target Americans in any way, he’s going to send in the federal troops, the army, the navy, whatever, the air force, and take over the country. Maybe Mexico will beat Canada as the 51st state.

But anyway, all of this makes you wonder, because I do think it was an inside job. How did they know where the cameras were, for example, to disable the camera? How did they break in the front door when the back door was open? It looks like it was totally a stage scene. No money was taken, by the way.

No money at all, no jewelry, no valuables were taken at all, just her, and there’s blood of hers out on the sidewalk, it appears to be. But here’s a Good Morning America story on this. Joe, what do you make of the tone of the video as well? Not only the words, but how they were saying them.

It’s a very somber tone. It’s not like they were excited, like they were upbeat to get her back. I mean, the body language from the first video into the second video is very telling as well.

And I really feel that this person or persons, they had some inside help to know what was going on, when to do this. And the other side of this is that this could be AI-generated as well, because if you look at the way AI is working these days, and I received an email about this, there’s threads that they can go on with this. But I’m glad they’re not putting out the whole story with this.

I feel that they should keep everything close to the vest, especially when the family is hoping to get Ms. Guthrie returned to them, no matter what. And it’s something that the FBI is very good at doing this. There’s been a lot of question about the Sheriff’s Department.

Let’s remember, they’re not equipped to do something like this. They’ve never handled anything like this before. So the FBI has definitely got the lead with this.

And the fact that they keep going back and they keep going to both houses and they’re retrieving evidence from those areas or whatever they need to get, is very telling that they could be very close to doing something with this. There’s also been reporting that law enforcement may have a car of interest. They’ve been focusing on some surveillance video from a nearby gas station.

Jennifer, what do we know about that? Well, I’m glad you asked me about that, because when you look at everything they did overnight, Brooke, listen, they were at Annie’s house. That is the sister’s house in the late night hours of the night for three solid hours. That is the sister or the daughter whose husband’s car was confiscated that they’re talking about right now, just to bring you up to what they’re talking about.

And if there’s any smoking gun there or not, we’ll find out. But I think there’s purposely a lot of misinformation being delivered by the FBI now that they’ve taken over this case. And the FBI knows what they’re doing.

For the most part, they do know what they’re doing in these kinds of cases. And as I told my wife, 99% of anything you’re going to hear on the news is planted by the FBI for a purpose. It’s not necessarily what the truth is of the situation.

There’s a purpose for it. And we won’t find that until after the case is over with. They were taking photographs inside there and they had gloves on.

That tells me that they are involved with evidence extraction and an evidence crime scene type look. In regard to that vehicle and that Circle K, that was located very close to Annie Guthrie’s house. So I find all of this activity quite telling when I talked about two kind of parallel investigations, the ransom note investigation.

And then separate from that, it certainly seems like they’re trying to figure out what’s happening at Annie Guthrie’s house. So one of the things here that this report is mentioning again about the daughter’s husband, the son-in-law. Now, you know, the ransom note, everybody, every expert that I know says that they don’t even understand the ransom note.

It doesn’t seem to fit any scenario that anybody is trained to look at. And it could be if the woman was killed accidentally. I think this is what they’re getting at.

If the woman was killed accidentally, maybe the person who did it would send a ransom from an anonymous source, from some email from the library or something, a ransom note just to make people think she was kidnapped when actually she was murdered and buried somewhere. So that could be the story here, and we’ll find that one out. But let’s go to another station about what they say on this situation.

This is a report from Fox News on the same subject. And I want you to listen to this, and we’ll talk about this a little bit as well. And then I’ll wrap this situation up.

We received your message, and we understand. We beg you now to return our mother to us sothat we can celebrate with her. This is the only way we will have peace.

This is very valuable to us, and we will pay. So that is the latest message from the Guthrie siblings to the abductors in the case of their missing mother. And so let’s go back through the timeline of the various messages.

That was the third message. The first message came out on February 4th when it was nearly four minutes long. And as you’ll recall, it was all three of the Guthrie siblings sitting at a sofa talking about their mother.

They urged the abductors to make contact and directly addressed their mother, trying to humanize her. Then the very next day, there was another message. This was a shorter one.

At about 20 seconds long, only son Cameron spoke, and he continued to ask the abductors to make contact, indicating that maybe they were not sure whether or not they had even had any sort of line of communication whatsoever. And then the latest was what came out yesterday evening, February 7th. That message was about 20 seconds long.

Only Savannah spoke, and which they very clearly agreed to pay ransom and directly address the abductors, but not Nancy herself. So let’s bring in Pat Diaz, former homicide detective. Great to have you with us this morning.

Thank you for joining us. What do you make of that, of this latest message? Well, they need to poke the bearer, as I say, because clearly from the first email that they sent out, there was going to be no further communication with the family. So at least they’re letting them know that we’rewilling to ready to pay and move forward.

And I think they’re trying to get them to acknowledge that the captors also know that the FBI is involved. So it’s a win-win or no-win situation, depending if they decide to answer. Yeah, it’s kind of a dual purpose, but I like your descriptions about poking the bear.

And honestly, when I first heard that message, saw that message, my heart sank a little bit because it seemed like it was almost a last-ditch, desperate message of sorts. Well, the initial email said this is the last communication that they have. This is the details.

This is what you need to do. I think they’re doing the right thing by saying, okay, we’re ready to negotiate. We’re ready to pay.

An ex-FBI profiler just revealed something chilling about the Nancy Guthrie case. And what she’s saying, it changes how we should be looking at this entire investigation. This isn’t some random kidnapping.

This isn’t teenagers looking for quick money. This is something far more calculated and far more terrifying. Let’s break down what law enforcement is really thinking right now.

Nancy Guthrie disappeared from her Tucson home. She’s the mother of NBC’s Savannah Guthrie. She’s over 80 years old.

And she vanished sometime between being dropped off at home around 9pm. And when she didn’t show up to church at 11am the next morning, that’s a 13 hour window. Multiple ransom letters have been sent to media outlets.

The FBI is involved. And now, expert profilers are weighing in with theories that should makeeveryone pay very close attention. Candice DeLong is an ex-FBI profiler.

She’s analyzed hundreds of kidnapping cases. And here’s what she says about this one. You know, you’re not a suspect until you’re named as a suspect, which is usually right before you’re charged.

I don’t think they’re there yet. They’re looking at a lot of things. Candice, based on what we know so far, what’s your take on the type of person or people that law enforcement are likely looking into right now? Well, this looks to me like it was committed by people that have experiencecommitting other crimes.

This is not what we call a kiddie crime. A couple of teenagers took her to CG. Maybe we could get some money.

It doesn’t look like that at all. And if that were the case, I think something would have happened by now. And it has not happened.

And John, we now know that Nancy Guthrie’s pacemaker last synced with her phone around 2 a.m. on the night she went missing early Sunday morning. Her phone was still at the house. Does that help investigators in any way in terms of their search? Well, it narrows potentially the window of time from when she was dropped off 930, 945 after dinner, dropped off at home till 11 a.m. when she didn’t arrive at church.

So just to say that it seems like this whatever happened happened at about 2 a.m., which it’s going to be interesting how this thing turns out. One way or another, it’s going to be very interesting how this turns out. Or I wouldn’t have this on the Plain Truth Today broadcast.

And going on to other stories, I think that are very important for us to cover. Last week, we ran a story on the main page of the Plain Truth, and it was called, well, actually, I’m not going to what it was called because the headline was really good. What it’s saying is that America is under a war that they do not understand they’re under with Muslims, Islamic terrorists.

And that is they’re trying to gain entry into American politics through winning elections like Mamdani in New York and other places around the country where Muslims are being elected, and they have a large Muslim population, which helps it. But there is the Sharia law aspect of all of this. What you really have is people using the American Constitution and the American way of life against Americans in general, because they plan on doing a jihad.

And the House Subcommittee on the Constitution Limited Government will hold hearings on February 10th, according to this, on how Sharia law is contrary to the law of the American founding and how it is spreading throughout many of the Muslim areas in America, as it did in England. There are places in England and in France that the police forces do not even try to enforce any British or French law. They leave it up to Muslim Sharia law enforcers.

And there is not French law in France or English law like in many streets of London. It’s actually Sharia law, Muslim law. And it is coming to America and it’s coming to America.

And most Americans are completely unaware that Sharia law is trying to take over our communities, undermine our constitution, our way of life. And in Dallas, for example, has become ground zero for the Islamic revolution of America. And there are more mosques being built in Texas than any other state in the Union.

I don’t think too many people even living in Texas understands the assault that is going on against America from Muslims who are actually winning elections and they have nothing, absolutely nothing in common with American people or the American way of life. In April of 2025, this article that we published said researchers focused on a city called East Plano Islamic compound outside of Dallas. They had found that it was a deliberate blueprint for a self-contained Islamic community built around Sharia law and principles and insulated from public oversight.

The organization’s report drew the attention of people like Governor Greg Abbott, for example. And these people are starting to raise the alarm bells and I don’t think too many Americans are understanding it. And Gill added, this is a representative, Brandon Gill, a Republican House member said, if people come to America and search for a better life, they need to be prepared to assimilate into our culture as every other culture has done in the past and not impose third world ideas into our society.

This was a daily single publication and it’s something we talked about. I believe it was the Friday wrap up. I might be wrong there, but I think I talked about a Friday and a Friday wrap up or maybe the Friday wrap up before it escapes my memory right now.

One day runs into the other, but it’s happening throughout America. And this is a plan. This isn’t Muslims because other Muslims vote for them and other people vote for them and they’re socialists and they’re Democrats and they believe in the Democratic party.

That’s not the case. They don’t believe in the Democratic party at all. They don’t believe in our constitution.

They certainly don’t believe in Christianity and they’d like to outlaw Christianity. You know, this country allows all religions to have their say and their due, but that is not going to happen if Islamic terrorists take over our constitution and take over our form of government. We, in my opinion, had a pro Muslim president called Barack Obama, who I think maybe secretly was a Muslim.

He certainly wasn’t a Christian for, and Reverend Wright, if you want to call him Reverend, because no man should be called Reverend anyway, proved my point when you listen to what he had to say against this country, against white people in this country and just against Christianity in general. But the idea that we are fighting this war against Islamic terrorists and we don’t even know it and we’re watching Iran get away. I said before that when we bombed Iran and we did not continue to annihilate all of the nuclear capabilities of that country, Donald Trump allowed the snake to live.

If you don’t cut the head off of the snake, the snake will always survive. And we’re seeing right now, it was a great question to Donald Trump by a reporter. He didn’t like it.

But if we set back their nuclear program by five years, as you claimed six months ago, why are they already rebuilding the nuclear sites and almost finished where you say we’re going to have to take them back out again? Well, if you did a five year destruction of them, if these bunker busting bombs were so good, why do we have to go back? And the reason is because we had to go back then. We did not finish the job. It’s the modus operandi of America and its foreign policies ever since Korea.

We go in and never finish a job and we allow the enemy to survive that learns from their mistakes and comes back harder. And we’re seeing that right now. And I’m afraid Iran is still going to be an ugly mess for us.

And I think we had a possibility in early 2025 with all of the unrest in Iran to see a regime change and maybe the return of the Shah’s son and maybe a westernized Iran like it used to be in the 1960s and 70s. People forget that it was the most modern Muslim nation on the face of the earth. And we lost it to Islamic terrorists, extremists.

And that’s what they want to do to America, my friends. And if we don’t see that, if we don’t see the enemy at the gates, we’re going to be like Rome when the barbarians were at the gate and we’re going to fall. So anyway, I wanted to talk about that today.

That was going to be my main story today that I was going to talk about. But I decided to do a thing on the Guthrie affair because I do think people are very interested in it. And I do think withthat we’re going to find some involvement of somebody that knows what’s going on.

I don’t think it’s going to be a random thing or a well-planned thing from outsiders. People got inthere either, like I said originally, either the Mexican drug cartel implanted in caregivers to this woman that got all the information or family members. That’s probably what we’re looking at.

So I wanted to play this and then we’ll talk about it briefly before the end of the show. But this Democrat takeover of Virginia is going to be very bad for us living there. Despite running on making your life more affordable, Virginia Democratic lawmakers introduced a wide ranging pile of new tax increases and new taxes, things like dog grooming taxes, taxes on electric leaf blowers, and much more.

And Virginia right now has a $2.7 billion surplus. So why the need for tax increases? Well, I caught up with Democratic Senate Majority Leader Scott Serville. He says that surplus is likely going to go towards Medicaid costs.

And the new tax revenue Democrats are looking to produce here in Virginia will go towards things like K through 12 education and Metro. So this is just a code word Democrats uses. Yeah, we have a $2.7 billion surplus, but it’s going to go somewhere else.

And we got to tax everybody, all their money away from them. So we can give money away to illegal aliens. We can give money away to every scam artists in the world that’s going to take this money and abuse it, misuse it, and line our pockets, the Democrat leaders pockets as well as their own.

That’s the code word there. There’s a tax on rideshare. There’s a fancy sports tax, dry cleaning tax, home repair tax, vehicle repair tax, digital personal property tax increase, new car taxes and highway use fees, general ownership tax, stop walking tax.

You know, a lot of people are just wondering how would this make life more affordable for people? I get it. But take Metro, for example, Nick, if this guy’s, uh, yeah, he didn’t expect this question, I guess, because Democrats don’t like to answer tough questions on the choices on the choices on Metro. Or we just tell localities like Fairfax County, you need to pay more for Metro to keep the cost of Metro down so the fares don’t become totally unaffordable.

And what that means is that Fairfax County would have to raise its real estate tax, which is currently the highest tax in all of Northern Virginia, 30% higher real estate tax than Loudoun County. They’d have to raise it even further to pay Metro, or we could come up with some other tax sources of things that are sort of linked to Metro, tax tourists, for example, things like hotel stays, or we could tax parking, which also, you know, to some extent taxes tourists or other people that don’t live in the county. Um, you come up with some other taxing sources to pay for it so that the homeowners aren’t the only ones aren’t aren’t the only ones paying.

What he’s saying here is we don’t want to tax the people in Arlington that voted for us anymore. They’re already paying 30% more property tax because of our mismanagement than anybody else in Virginia. And we want this money up here for ourselves.

But now it’s time for the rest of Virginia to pay for our malfeasance and crockery and just plain old theft of Americans hard-earned money in the state of Virginia. That’s what he’s saying. Oh, he’s going to say, oh, let the tourists pay for it.

Well, that’s not what’s going to happen here. You can see what he’s talking about. They’re going to raise property taxes and the rest of the state of Virginia so they can take care of Arlington, Virginia, where they all live and they don’t have to pay their way.

Democrats never pay their own way. Look at, for example, donations to charities. The last people that will ever donate to charities as a Democrat know when they get in office, they take your money and give it to charities.

They never give their own money to charities. Let’s go on. And so that’s that’s what we’re trying to figure out right now.

Servo also added he wants to put money towards government subsidized affordable housing. That’s a code word for, again, government money for contractors who are in with the Democrats pockets and will give out money to build houses for the poor, which costs five times more money than luxury mansions to build. I know.

I know somebody that did this back in Norfolk and they actually built public housing. And the cost to the state of Virginia and the federal government was three times what the same person would do when he built housing for people who are landlords who were to build like an apartment complex that they themselves would run out. They could do that for like pennies on a dollar compared to what they charge the government to build an inferior apartment complex for the poor people and admitted it was it was a scam, admitted it to me.

I knew him well, but let’s go on. You can see more of our conversation with Servo on our website, WJLA.com. So I don’t know if this story is going to have any legs at all, but it’s it’s it’s where Ithink if you have any way to move out of Virginia, if you’re especially if you’re retired and you’re on a fixed income, I think Florida is looking better and better. Sell out before the real estate crashes here, which is going to happen under Democrat rule.

It always does. And get down to Florida where everybody lives a lot better life than you can live in New York City, for example, or New York State or Connecticut or Maryland or Delaware and now Virginia. Now, I will admit there’s been some good Virginian governors, all Republican over the last 30 years I’ve lived here.

Gilmore was the best. People don’t even know the name. He’s the one that got rid of half the car tax and even his own party didn’t want him to do that.

And he made living here in Virginia affordable again. But Terry McAuliffe, biggest crook that came down the pike as governor of Virginia. And we got one now, a absolute flaming communist.

And Virginia is in trouble. And anywhere the Democrats take over is in trouble. And this is why I say this over and again.

This is why we have to try to wake Donald Trump up and these mega Republicans and realizethey’re going to lose the house. They may lose the Senate and they’re going to lose the presidency in 28. And these evil communist Democrats will never give up power.

Democracy, freedom, liberty in America is at stake. And I’m afraid it’s going down the tubes and we are the cause. And Donald Trump has helped it along, but we can still do something about it in spite of Donald Trump.

But the short message is we cannot put these evil, money-grubbing Democrats back in power in this country or we’re doomed. Well, that was the show for today. It’s a Monday afternoon show.

We just did what’s the trending stories of the day other than like a topic that could always be replayed later. This is a show only for today. Notice I didn’t mention anything about the SuperBowl.

I didn’t watch it. I don’t watch football. I don’t watch sports anymore.

It’s rigged. The mafia obviously is in control of most of it. And the people who play are not, they’re not people I respect, care about, a lawless bunch of hypocrites and criminals.

That’s how I see professional sports in America. So I don’t watch it. I’m not going to report about it.

You’ll find it on the message board, who won and everything else. That’s where you can findeverything about the sports. That’s the water cooler of the plain truth.
