Friday Wrap Up with Bob Barney November 6, 2026
Hi, Bob Barney for the Plain Truth today. It’s Friday wrap-up. I’m doing a Friday wrap-up as well today, two shows today actually, and the big story of the week of course we know is the electionor I probably should say the disastrous election, which like I said in this afternoon’s program, I had been predicting, people didn’t want to hear it.Donald Trump is to blame. I got a couple outtakes here about the election that I’m going to go over with during the Friday wrap-up. We’re going to spend probably a lot of time about the election.I might get a little bit into that air crash that happened in Miami, though we have plenty of coverage on the message board and on the front page of the Plain Truth. There’s a horrible story of the Learjet that that lost control, obviously most likely due to icing, and crashed violently going 600 miles an hour and hitting the ground. It was falling at one point at 32,000 feet per minute.Just think about that. I think that’s faster than a rocket goes up, and it was a very sad story. But here is an analyst, John Bolton, and his take on the election.I somewhat agree 100% with what he said. I’m going to play it right now. He was being questioned by the Daily Telegraph, an English newspaper, but they also have a podcast. As you’re watching the second Trump presidency, do you think those around the president aredisappointed with how it’s going? Well, it wasn’t such an overwhelming election victory, and he tried to do much of what he wanted to accomplish through executive order, because he knew he couldn’t get it through Congress. So by definition, if a Democrat wins in 28, almost everything can be swept away simply by rescinding the executive orders. His tariff policy has been as disastrous as I think most people predicted. The economy is doing very well because of tax cuts and deregulation. Think how much better it could be doing if it weren’t for the tariffs. Again, John Bolton understands worldwide tariffs and what it has done. Our economy would not just be booming for billionaires and the investment class in America, because that’s who is really doing well. But our economy would be booming for the consumer, as well as the factory worker, as well as just the general laborer in America, if we did not have these ridiculous tariffs. I think people forgot just how expensive some of these tariffs were. There was a time last year when I was bringing in raw material. I’m an American paint company. I make my stuff in America. Now I have a plant in China, and I have a plant in Italy now because of what these tariffs did. I had to do this. But I employ Americans. We’re American-made products. Unfortunately, in my business, you’re not going to find raw material chemical companies located in America anymore. The EPA chased them away.So did OSHA. So did the Democratic Congresses and presidencies of the past. And they’re not going to come back.We should not have been subject to a tariff. We are making products in America with American labor forced to use foreign raw materials. But we were forced to pay taxes, tariffs, which are taxes. And in some cases, the tariffs were 150%. Well, if I buy a resin, let’s say I buy a resin that costs me $50 a gallon, and I’m making a product that’s half resin, half solvent. So my cost on the product is $60, and I’m selling it for $125.I’m making good money. I can pay my people good money, and there’s still a good 10%, 15% to the bottom line. Perfect.Well, what happens if that resin has 150% surcharge, which it did part of the time, and that $60 or that $50 a gallon resin, all of a sudden now has a $150 tariff. Now it’s $200 for a product that I’m selling for $125. I got to double my money and still not make as much money.Who does that hurt? It hurts the consumer. It hurts the little guy. It doesn’t hurt the big investment class. It certainly don’t hurt these chemical companies who are going to sell it no matter what, and they don’t mind it. And then when the tariffs were found to be against the law by the Supreme Court, it is these other companies that got their money back. I didn’t get a dime of over $100,000 I paid in tariffs. What could I have done with $100,000? Well, I wouldn’t have paid myself that money, as most people who don’t understand business. I’m on Social Security. I basically should be retired.I’m 71 years old. I don’t need more income. If I had $100,000 extra, I would spend it in something.I would either spend it in plant improvements, better machinery, but most likely I would have hired more people to do jobs that I don’t want to do because I can’t pay myself to do it. I would have brought in maybe an assistant at $80,000 a year. This is what people don’t understand what tariffs did.Tariffs destroyed this economy long before the war did. Let’s go on. I think there’s a lot of dismay and splintering within the party and within Trump’s base.I suspect that his last two years are going to be very, very frustrating for him, not only worryingabout all these congressional hearings, but looking for things that he can actually accomplish. He can accomplish nothing in the next two years. He’s a lame duck. He’s forced himself to be a lame duck. His policies made him a lame duck. I’m going to go on to another take on this in a second, but it’s just so plain on your face what’s going on.Here’s the next one. I want to play Scaramucci on his take on the election. Finish at the midterms anyway. He’s a decaying political asset. He’ll be a lame duck the day after the midterms. If you want to accelerate that into June of 2025, go against your base, go against what you campaigned for, and do something that I think is illogical at this moment, where everybody in this room, every student of history knows we go with diplomacy first. It’s not appeasement to have diplomacy. It’s not appeasement to get inspectors in there to see what’s going on, to protect the West and the rest of the world, but it could be very destructive. We all know in this room, when a war starts like that, a lot of things happen that we cannot predict.Look what happened to the Americans for 20 years in Iraq. Rumsfeld and Cheney said it was going to end in three months. 20 years later, $6 trillion spent.Thousands of Americans lost their lives. And that is what happened with the second Bush, and it destroyed the economy at the time. And now look at what’s going on with this war here. The war was going to last a week, two weeks, three weeks, three months at the most, maybe six months. Hey, maybe it’s going to be a year now. I don’t really care how long it lasts.I’m going to keep Iran from getting a nuclear bomb. It was all BS causing him to lose the election Tuesday. And what bothered me the most during this whole time, it’s bothered me this entire time, which these people that I call ever-Trumpers never could find any fault in what he did.No matter what he did, it was the greatest thing in the world. If two months earlier, he said it would be stupid to attack Iran because they could never deliver a bomb if they got one. Everybody that was an ever-Trumper would have got on Facebook and Instagram and said how what a smart president he was, not like Bush.He wouldn’t get us into a war like Bush did. He’s too smart. And if two weeks later, he says, I got a bomb Iran because I’ve decided, I’ve changed my mind. The same people would get on Facebook and say it was the smartest thing that ever happened. He is a genius to go to war. This is what I have dealt with.I’ve dealt with this with many people that I know that I consider friends who just made oneapology after another, an excuse after another when it came to Donald Trump and the Iran warthat he absolutely mishandled. He put a boy in charge of the Pentagon who don’t know what he’s doing. And we paid an awful bad cost for it.And Iran won the war. Because when this election happened Tuesday, guess what? The war is over with. And Iran won. There’s nothing Donald Trump can do. He’ll bomb them for the next three months. They’re going to take away his money.Iran knows they’ve won. And that is another loss of a war. We’ve lost Korea. We lost Vietnam. We lost Iraq. And now we’ve lost Iran. And this is just one after another losses because presidents don’t know how to be a president. They let their megalomania take over. And that is what’s happened here. And like I said, I’ve been predicting it. I don’t want to say I’m always right. I told you so.That’s not what this is about. The plain truth is about time we inform ourselves. Number one, what God has to say about us.And we can find that in the Bible. Number two is to be a moral people. But the most important thing that I really stress is to be consistent. When your man that you like is doing the right things, you should defend him with all your might. But when he changes and is doing the exact opposite of what you voted for, and then you can’t find fault, then you’re the problem more than he is. I’ll be right back.Hi, Bob Barney for The Plain Truth today. It’s a place to go to to find out what’s happening, why it’s happening, and what you can do about it, and how to plan for you and your future. Also on The Plain Truth today, we have these podcasts. We also have Your Health Today, tells you how you can improve your health. You know, God has a diet you should be following. We have a message board where everybody’s a reporter. We have the main page of The Plain Truth where we put up the stories we think is important. But everything The Plain Truth does is also recognizes there is a God, and God is control of this world, if we like to believe that or not. And tomorrow’s headlines are found in the pages of the Bible. And that is the whole idea of what ThePlainTruth.com is about. Go to ThePlainTruth.com every day. There’s a lot to visit, a lot to go to, and you will not be disappointed. And we’re back for another segment here, and we’re going to talk a little bit more again about this election, because it’s really, again, I’m telling you the Democrats are going to overplay their hand. So the next outtake I’m going to do is a Megyn Kelly show, who was one of those people that went against Trump on a lot of things. And I was listening to OAN election night, and they had this moron on there blaming Megyn Kelly and Tucker Carlson for the loss that day, that they are the reason, not Donald Trump, not the Iran war, not his megalomania, not all the things he did wrong, not all the things he changed his mind about, not the ballroom or the waiting pool, none of this stuff. It was because Tucker Carlson and Megyn Kelly split the mega vote. Well, the mega vote’s never been more than 30%. The mega vote has nothing to do with the independent vote that swung this election.72% of the independent vote voted Democrat, and I can guarantee you they are not Democrats. But here again is Megyn Kelly, and she has Victor Davis Hanson on, and listen to this take about what I believe is going to happen, the Democrats overplaying their hand. Let me ask you about this Peggy Noonan piece in the Wall Street Journal from Thursday. She entitles it, or the journal did, the case for a historic wave. The president should be dealt a rebuke, a rebellion, and a rout. Only then can the Republican Party be rebuilt. And she goes on, she makes a bunch of points in here, but the two I want to run by you are what she thinks should happen to the Republican Party, and what she thinks the new ruling Democrats, which we are likely to get, should do. First, she says the Republican Party has to get healthy again. Healthy doesn’t mean the establishment returns. It will never return. The GOP establishment of 1990 to 2016 ran things into the ground, is discredited, and over. Also, they’re 80.They destroyed the party by detaching from the legitimate needs and pleas of its base, and by secretly regarding that base as stupid nobodies. The new Republican Party, the one that will have a chance at being born, will keep the of MAGA. Man is not only an economic animal, but has a soul. The base is not full of fools who know nothing of policy, and the good of the old establishment. Professionalism, integrity, and understanding of the economic facts that fueled America’s 20th century greatness. Party intellectuals are at least trying to return meaning to Pat Moynihan’s wry 46-year-old observation. All of a sudden, the GOP has become a party of ideas. You know, I, Peggy Noonan, I 100% agree with what she said. MAGA is not destroyed.Make America Great Again is a movement that started in the 1970s. It did not start with Donald Trump. Donald Trump was just the person they picked.Ross Perot was a person in the 1980s that took the MAGA mantle. It started, in my opinion, of putting America first. Populism started with the Billy Jack movies and the death with movies of Charles Bronson in 1970s, mid-70s, early 70s, when the American people, the guy and girl who works hard to make a living in this country, when they were fed up with Washington, D.C., and with all of the liberal policies allowing rapists to go free, murderers to go free, excuses for why people did things, take away the death penalty, and allow the streets to become just corrupt with crime.New York City was impossible to go in and walk in at night back in the 1970s until Ruli Giuliani got there. She’s 100% right what she said. But let’s see what Victor Davis Hanson says and Megyn Kelly says.Let’s go on. She wants a remaking of the Republican Party that discards the more brutal aspects of Trump and MAGA. And then she says the following to the Democrats. It is likely true that if they get a big historic outcome Tuesday, they will misread their mandate and go off on various toots. They’ll think that change, by definition, must be extreme or won’t be noticed. Exactly right.Again, that is exactly what I’m predicting. It will happen. And if you’re really feeling bad right now, realize real soon the Democrats have destroyed what they did.A growing number will continue their grim plotting toward a socialist revolution. What they should do is be sober and serious, as one would be in a national emergency. And we’re in an emergency. They should admit that they could go in many directions now, but what they choose is to govern wisely, to make things work. They should establish competency. Will they do this? Probably not.But they need to get healthy again, too. And their misunderstanding of their mandate just may start to set the stage. OK, so you’re the perfect person to ask about both of those takes, Victor, on how she thinks the current Republican Party needs the rebuke and the current Democrat Party, if it wins tonight, will misjudge its mandate. And the best thing it could do is to reject the temptation at excess and simply govern. Well, if she’s talking about Trump’s tweets or his crudity, is that what she’s talking about? Then she talks about she says, Mr. Trump’s problem is that everyone on both sides of the issue knows he’s out of out of his depth in running a major war. So that’s one way I want to stop there.Iran. Yeah. So I as a historian, I just look at wars that we’ve been in.I don’t, but what I’m saying is that I do want to talk about the Peggy Noonan. Yes, that’s my point. She basically she’s hated the entire Trump presidency. This is what is the Iran war? But she doesn’t like him. Yeah, she I think she thinks he is too rude. Yeah.So that’s my point, Megan. So the way he talks, the way he deals with people, why does he just say then that I think that the MAGA movement was an improvement over what she said was, I guess she means that callous Republicans that talked about privatizing Social Security or capital gains, capital gains, capital gains tax, didn’t worry about tax on tips or things like that. So taxes on Social Security of working people. She could have given examples and then said, here’s what a newly reformed MAGA that wasn’t going back to the Bob Dole, Romney McCain paradigm would look like. That’s all she had to say. And give us an example. Is it Marco Rubio ahead of it? Maybe he wouldn’t be as contentious. Is it? Well, Victor David Hanson is a Trump apologist. He has been the whole time. And I played many of his takes about how you listen to him. The war was going to end every day. Every other day. This was the greatest strategy in the world and the war was going to end. Though a little bit now you’re going to start seeing, I saw this with Bill O’Reilly big time. And maybe I can find this for the last part of this program.Bill O’Reilly on Cuomo the other night basically bashed his best friend, Donald Trump about all the things he did wrong. I’ll find that after the next break and just go over this. But I wanted to show you what Megan Kelly was saying, because really what she is saying is true.Donald Trump is the reason MAGA has failed, and it is not a bad movement. Now, I will admit many of the people inside that movement don’t have a brain. I call them ever Trumpers, stupider than never Trumpers, but they’re still not the majority of the MAGA movement. The MAGA movement are people like you and I who want to see America dominant again. They want to see America like it was in the 1950s when the world looked up to us and we supplied the world with money and food. We didn’t borrow from the whole world. That is what I’m talking about. That is what MAGA is really all about. And I don’t even like to call it MAGA.I like to call it Make America Great Again, or better yet, what I actually like to call America as the leader of the world. We should be the leader of the world, and we should not run away from that responsibility. That’s what Ronald Reagan was.I would love to get back to Ronald Reagan years. Hopefully that could still happen for us. Hi, Bob Barney for The Plain Truth today. This is a feature of theplaintruth.com. Saturdays, there’s a Sabbath show at 7-11 a.m., a 7-11 p.m. entertainment show, and Sunday, there is a News Talk Sunday show. Lately, I’ve been doing some of those myself. That’s theplaintruth.com. Go there every day. Thank you very much. And the last few minutes, we’re going to talk about this election still on a different angle. So this is a podcast program. I’m not really familiar with it. It looks like it’s people that are not necessarily Trump supporters, but not necessarily Trump haters as well. They might fall in the middle here. There’s a few clues about this, but I wanted you to hear this. When I listened to it, I kind of agreed with much of what his name is, Bubba the Love Sponge.I’m sorry, but that’s his name. Some of the comments he said, I have to agree with. I’ve now got probably 10 stories to wade through from Trump who looks like literally somebody.Maybe this is what it took for him, maybe, just maybe, after the avalanche of the midterms andthe results of what it produced, and to the likes of, we haven’t seen since 74, there was a big avalanche like this, I think, prior to 10, 2010. I’ve got to say, I met with Antifa last night, and we prefer tsunami. There you go, tsunami. So maybe, maybe, just maybe the tsunami. And it’s a direct reflection upon people don’t like him. People that voted for him don’t like him.And that’s not saying that there was a better candidate and that Kamala could have been done better. No. But once he got up in there, he has acted like a complete dick. You can’t talk to him. He makes fun of reporters that are asking about his health. And it seems like maybe this is what he needed. Now, he’s still so narcissistic that he probably doesn’t necessarily want to shoulder any of the blame. Whereas, in my opinion, it’s mostly his fault. And all the talking heads, and including most of my clips that I play today, are from Ron DeSantis.Because he sees, in my opinion, he sees this as an opportunity. Because, and correct me if I’m wrong, Brian, Florida happened to be one of the very few states that somewhat republically held its own. Meaning like, yeah, there was a couple of seat flips here in Florida. But with regards to a Republican-based state being led by a Republican governor, the governor race was won by the Republicans, barely, but did. So I’m going to interrupt here, and I agree with him. I know so many people, a friend of mine across the street, voted for Donald Trump three times, and basically has never liked him, but voted for him because of his policies, especially the first time around. But his personality, his personality is like 36 grit sandpaper. And if you want to rub 36 grit sandpaper across your butt, it doesn’t feel good. And that’s what happens here when we’re talking about Donald Trump, with a lot of people. They just can’t stand him. And a lot of people in the country do not like New Yorkers. I’m from that area.I understand New Yorker. I understand the language. I also understand they’re good people, but they are abusive type people to people who don’t understand them. But Donald Trump went off the deep edge. And even as of this morning, when I was listening to Donald Trump saying, if I was on a ballot, we would have won by a landslide, the man is absolutely such a BSer and such a moron right now, that to me, he’s more dangerous than Joe Biden ever was. And the reason that I’m saying that, Joe Biden was never in control. And this guy is in control of the bomb, of the button. And I hope maybe deep inside, there’s a part of him or people around him can finally muster up the courage to go to him and say, you got to deal with the Democrats here. You can stall off impeachment. You can work with them. We have to rebuild this brand for 28. But I don’t believe it’s going to happen.I don’t believe it’s going to happen. I think he destroyed the party for a long time. And I hope I’m wrong, because we cannot have Democrat rule. The bright spot is this guy was just mentioning, the very bright spot in this whole deal is Ron DeSantis, because he maintained Florida. He’s a good governor. He’s been a great governor. He made a mistake running against Trump in 2024. He really did make a mistake. He put himself out of the mega movement. And because there was such ever Trumpers back then that if you talked against Trump, it was like talking against God and they got rid of you for life. And he’s always going to have a problem getting those people back. He should have stayed on the sidelines and allowed this to happen, and then been a vocal critic with Donald Trump over these last four years. That’s what, or last two years, I’m sorry. It seems like four years. But I want to go into one last take before the weekend wrap up.Close of an historic midterm election week, two critical races remain open, a nail biter in Mississippi’s Senate race, where Democrat Scott Columb has been narrowly leading Republican incumbent Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith, while calling out national Democrats for writing off deep red states like his. We were never a lost cause, we were a betrayed cause. Mississippi Republicans say more than 20,000 ballots are still left to be counted. The number- And Mississippi and Alaska are the two states that could really end up goingDemocrat, might stay Republican. If it goes Democrat, it’s even worse news. Now we want to get into what’s going to happen this weekend.Tomorrow is the Sabbath day. We always talk about that. And we have another Garner Ted Armstrong from about 35 years ago, and it’s called Alive Again. And it’s an hour long. It’s not a TV show. It is one of his speeches, and it’s an hour long, and it’s very good about the resurrection of the dead.Because if you don’t believe in the resurrection of the dead, you’re really not a Christian, because the resurrection of the dead is what Christ is all about. It’s what the Apostle Paul wrote about, what the Apostle John wrote about, what the entirety of the Bible talks about, is people coming back to life when Christ returns. That’s the resurrection of the dead. And then tomorrow night at 7.11 PM, we have a suspense theater again, a radio show. And the suspense theater was a very, very popular radio show by CBS in the 1950s. I think it made it all the way up until the early 60s.And I think they might’ve even brought it back in the mid to late 70s on radio, but it’s a very good show. But tomorrow is the Sabbath day. I want everybody to remember that.We always have a Sabbath show at 7.11 AM. Sunday, I was gonna do a show for Sunday, a wrap-up type show that I don’t do on a Friday wrap-up, but I think I’m gonna do a Mark Halpern long show about him and his guest’s total take on this election, on this blowout election, which, like I started saying, and which I had a show this afternoon and yesterday, I have been predicting this, and I don’t wanna say I told you so, and this is not what it’s about. I knew it was coming, and I wish more people understood it was coming.I wish more people would have gotten in front of Donald Trump, the bully, and took away his mantle for a while and saved him from himself. The problem is, the first time around, Donald Trump had people around him that saved him from himself, and today he does not. And we are all paying the price.Democrats buy gold, buy silver. I know it’s down now, so it’s time to buy, but inflation is gonna roar its ugly head. You think inflation is bad now, would Trump? Wait till the Democrats get incontrol. That’s how they make their money. Never forget that. This is Bob Barney, Friday wrap-up.Thank you for listening. We’ll be back again Monday with another show. Until then, bye-bye.
