Hi, Bob Barney for The Plain Truth today, brought to you by theplaintruth.com, and I’m going to get on yet a different kind of subject, a history lesson subject today, about what happened onDecember 31st, 2011, that absolutely changed your existence and you’re not even aware of it.Little by little, Americans have given up their constitutional rights. They have absolutely watched the Bill of Rights disappear through things like government actions and presidential executive orders, which are unconstitutional, but our Supreme Court just refuses to enforce the Constitution as it was written by our forefathers.
And what I’m talking about now is we all know about the 2005 Patriot Act, pushed through by President Bush, an unconstitutional order that was passed by Congress that absolutely did away with a lot of your Bill of Rights that you have against government intrusion. Well, in 2011, on December 31st, New Year’s Eve, when everybody was getting drunk and having their New Year’s Eve parties planned, President Obama did something. Even though he had threatened to kill the bill at one time, he signed the National Defense Authorization Act for 2012.
And this act basically allowed the government to take away any right for anybody, any citizen of the United States, take away their constitutional Bill of Rights if the president determined they were a terrorist. If the president said you are a terrorist, he had the right to arrest you and not allow you see a lawyer. He had the right to imprison you, would never take you to trial.
And get this, the president has the right to kill you, shoot you dead if he suspects you’re a terrorist without a court order allowing it to be done. No due process, guilty, and not until proveninnocent. Guilty and shot dead by our government.
Do you know this happened? Well, it did. I’m going to play a few outtakes from Ron Paul, that’s Rand Paul’s father, who is about the only person that I know of that ever stood up against the president’s both parties, Bush and Obama, when he was in Congress and still talks against him to this day, about all the rights we have lost, all of our constitutional Bill of Rights, our rights against search and seizure, our rights against having an attorney present when questioning, your right to be brought to a court and not kept in jail indefinitely without being presented in court, not having charges read against you, not even knowing why you’re being held. I don’t think most people listening to me right now believes a word I am saying, but it’s the plain truth.
Let me start with one of the last speeches that Ron Paul gave as a congressman back in 2012 after this bill was signed into law, which I don’t think most people in the United States of America has a clue what could happen to them. Mr. Speaker, I rise today to introduce a very simple piece of legislation to repeal the infamous section 1021 of the National Defense Authorization Act, quietly signed into law by the president on New Year’s Day. What a way to usher in the new year.
Section 1021 essentially codifies into law the very dubious claim of presidential authority under 2001 authorization for the use of military force to indefinitely detain American citizens without access to legal representation or due process of law. Section 1021 provides for the possibility of the U.S. military acting as a kind of police force on U.S. soil, apprehending terror suspects,including Americans, and whisking them off to an undisclosed location indefinitely. No right to attorney, no right to trial, no day in court.
This is precisely the kind of egregious distortion of justice that Americans have always ridiculed in so many dictatorships overseas. A great man named Solzhenitsyn became the hero of so many of us when he exposed the Soviet Union’s extensive gulag system. Is this really the kind of a United States we want to create in name of fighting terrorism? Some have argued that nothing in section 1021 explicitly mandates holding Americans without trial, but it employs vague language radically expanding the detention authority to include anyone who has substantially supported certain terrorist groups or associated forces.
No one has defined what those terms mean. What is an associated force? Sadly, too many of my colleagues are too willing to undermine our Constitution to support such outrageous legislation. One senator even said about American citizens being picked up under section, under this section of the NDAA, quote, when they say I want a lawyer, you tell them shut up.
You don’t get a lawyer, close quote. Is this acceptable in someone who has taken an oath to uphold the Constitution? Mr. Speaker, of course, I recognize how critical… I want to interrupt here and I’m going to keep playing it, but I just want to tell you something right now. This really bothers me that we allow, if there ever should be a law passed, and if it takes to be an amendment to the Constitution, it should be at least tried, and American people, if they don’t push it through by demanding it to be pushed through, deserve the slavery that is coming, because that’s what’s coming.
We’re going into slavery in this country. Unfortunately, it’s going to be under the thumb of Europe if you believe the Bible, and I do, but any politician who absolutely swears on the Bible, or whatever, the Koran, or whatever they want to swear on, to defend the Constitution of the United States, and they have never read it, they could not do anything, or pass a law that breaks it, should be immediately thrown out of Congress, or the Senate, or for that matter, a state legislative body, or anywhere else, because you swear you’re going to defend something that you have no intention to defend. You have no intention to follow the law of the land, and that is what happened with all of these defense acts, these domestic terrorist so-called defense acts, that are used against the Americans.
They were used against Americans on the Donald Trump side in 2020, with what they called the insurrection on January 6th. Nothing of the sort happened. Now, there were rebel rousers within that group.
I think history will prove me correct when I say those rebel rousers were FBI deep state plants trying to cause trouble, and I think it’s obvious that what was going on on January 6th was a peaceful demonstration against what many people thought was a stolen election, including myself, but I’m telling you right now, they used this same act here to throw these people in jail.How many people do you remember were in jail that could not even see a lawyer? One good thing Donald Trump did when he became president in 2024 is he released a lot of them. One of them, you know, actually thinks Donald Trump today is the Antichrist, but he released him.
The guy has a right to his opinion. That’s what makes America, America. You have a right to youropinion, and they don’t put you in, they should not be able to put you in jail indefinitely without a lawyer for expressing your opinion, and that’s what’s going on, and I’m afraid too many Americansjust don’t realize it.
Let’s continue with Ron Paul. It is that we identify and apprehend those who are suspected of plotting attacks against Americans, but why do we have so little faith in our judicial system? Have we not tried in civilian court and won convictions of hundreds of individuals for terrorist or related activities? I fully support continuing to do so, but let us not abandon what is so unique and special about our system of government in the process. I hope my colleagues will join my effort to overturn this shameful section 1021 of the National Defense Authorization Act, and I yield back.
And that did not happen at all, and I have another quote after this brief timeout for the Plain Truth commercial we’re going to run, that it did not happen. Actually, it’s gotten worse and worse and worse under Obama. It did not get worse under the first Trump that I’m aware of.
I have to do more research before I talk out of school, and I’m not even that sure it’s gotten that much worse under Trump 2.0, but it did under Biden. Biden, again, went after American citizens who were actually enemies of Biden, and he turned people who politically were against him into enemies of the state, and the deep state then went after them, as we saw with the January 20th people, went after them illegally, unconstitutionally, and the people really behind this absolutely should be tried, convicted, and jailed. And I’ll be right back.

So I’m going to continue here with a speech that Ron Paul gave back in, I believe, 2012 or 2013 in Iowa, explaining even deeper what Americans have given up and the dangers that we are facingtoday with the loss of our freedom. Before I play this, I just want to remind people what BenjaminFranklin said about people who wanted to give up their freedom in order to have security againsttyranny or against terrorism, and he said, those people deserve neither, and that is how I comedown. If you’re going to give up your liberty, you’re going to give up your freedoms, your bill of right, your constitutional rights given to you by God according to our forefathers, and you’re ready to give them up for your security, you don’t deserve either.
Let’s listen to Mr. Paul. And of course, just recently, we have had some other changes. Matter of fact, early this year, the president announced a policy change.
He said now that it was proper for him to have the authority to assassinate an American citizen, even if they have not been charged with anything, if he thought it was necessary. Very bad. Now, of course, the person they picked out, probably a very bad guy.
He talked about stirring up violence. He was never charged with it. He never had a trial, and yet it was decided that he would be assassinated.
So we used a drone and we assassinated him in Yemen. So let it go by. He’s a bad guy.
He’s gone. But the principle, the precedent is very, very dangerous. So the next week, they decided, well, his son looked like a pretty shady character too.
So they sent another missile over to get the son. Well, they got him, plus his cousin. They were back in the backyard barbecuing, killed them both.
The son was 16 years old. And this is not the way America’s supposed to be. We’re supposed to be a nation of law.
Rule of law is what we want. Unfortunately, I’ll get back to this in a second, but unfortunately, America is a lawless nation. America, when it was named Israel in your Bible, because the United States of America is the former lost ten tribes of Israel, namely the tribe of Ephraim, who has theownership of the name Israel.
The Jews do not have the name Israel as their name. If you remember, if you go back to your Bible, pick out a Bible and see if there are maps at the back of the Bible. Many Bibles have maps on them, and they will show you the kingdom of Judah, and that’s where the Jews lived, and the kingdom of Israel to the north, and that is where Ephraim was.
Because Ephraim, one of the sons of Joseph, and his brother Manasseh owns the name Israel. Jacob, whose name was Israel, Jacob was renamed by God, by Jesus Christ, who wrestled with him. That’s the story.
Go back and read it. And he said, your name is no longer Jacob, but Israel. You struggled with God and won.
That’s what it means. And then old man Israel, in his latter days, right before he died, found Joseph in Egypt alive, to his surprise, and then blessed Joseph’s two sons, the older beingManasseh, the younger being Ephraim, and he blessed them, and he said, my name on these two lads, and they will have equal or equal share with your brothers. Joseph’s tribe became two tribes,Ephraim and Manasseh, and the younger Ephraim became the 13th tribe of Israel, with the nameIsrael, owned by it.
Well, what does the number 13 mean to us today in this country, in 2026, when we celebrate our 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, and the 13 colonies, the 13 stars on our flag, the 13 feathers in the tail of the eagle? 13 is the number, the identity of Israel, of your Bible today. It’s the United States of America, and we are going to go into captivity because we simply are a lawless nation. We do not follow the law.
Our politicians do not follow the law. Our people don’t want to follow the law. It’s just that simple.
We’re a lawless nation, and we’re going to pay the price for being lawless, and that’s what Ron Paul is talking about here. We’re going to continue with his speech, but that’s what he’s talking about, how lawless politicians, lawless leaders have destroyed the fundamental freedoms of this nation. You know what word is on every coin printed? Liberty.
That is what the Revolutionary War was fought for. It wasn’t fought over taxation withoutrepresentation. That’s a nonsensical idea to go to war.
That wasn’t what it was. It was liberty against tyranny. That’s what was fought for, and it was so important that our forefathers mandated the word liberty be put on our coins, not the word taxation without representation or no taxation without representation.
There’s no such thing on a coin but the word liberty, because that is what America is all about. So in one sense, when we go into the military, we take the oath, and we go and fight and endanger ourselves to protect our Constitution. At the same time, our Constitution is being eroded right here at home.
Just this last week, two weeks ago, I guess, the National Defense Authorization Act, that act has in it. I’m always impressed that so many people know about it. That means we have a healthy society and the internet is working.
By the way, the internet is the only place you’re getting the truth today. The plaintruth.com is on the internet, and so far the government hasn’t taken that over. I do expect that maybe within our lifetime, most likely within a younger person’s lifetime, the internet is going to be totally controlled by each government, like it is in China, in Russia today, and many parts of Europe even.
They call themselves democracies in Europe. It’s a joke. If you control what’s on the internet, if you control what people can say to each other, you’re not a democracy.
You’re not a republic form of government. You’re not standing up for liberty. You’re just another form of totalitarianism, another form of Nazism or Communism or Hitlerism or Stalinism.
That’s what you are. You’re just a Stalin-lite or a Hitler-lite, and you’re just calling yourself a democracy. It’s all you’re doing.
It’s like the People’s Republic of China. Well, it ain’t the People’s Republic of China. It’s the republic of a few leaders of China who are dictators.
That simple. Whenever you see People’s Republic, you know it’s a communist country and you know the people have nothing to do with it. I’ll be right back after this word for the plain truth and we’ll finish up with Ron Paul and the loss of our freedoms that just simply is not being discussed.
It’s just bypassed by people. I mention this at work to sometimes customers that come in or salespeople that come in or truck drivers that come in. They don’t know about these laws.
They don’t know about the lawlessness of our own government. And frankly, now that Trump is president, these mega people that used to have a problem with Obama, and they used to have a problem with Joe Biden, and even a problem with George Bush, no longer have a problem that President Trump has the authority to assassinate somebody he wants to. They don’t have a problem anymore.
It’s good. That’s what’s good for America, they tell me. Boy, America’s in trouble.

You will not be disappointed. And we’re back to the final part of the speech by Ron Paul. This was done 14 years ago, and unfortunately it’s only gotten worse.
It has not gotten better, and American people are losing their freedoms every day and enjoying it.No, they’re not clapping for me. But that bill essentially eliminates posse comitatus.
It’s institutionalizing military law that the military can arrest an American citizen without charges and being denied an attorney and held indefinitely even in a foreign prison. Isn’t that what England did to the colonialists in 1775 and 1776? Wasn’t that what we fought a revolutionary war against? Wasn’t that what was going on? And yet you don’t have a problem with it today going on by your government, by these immoral leaders who screw 14-year-old pages, one criminal after another, who get rich by insider trading of stocks and oil futures, the corruption, the swamp. You don’t have a problem with them deciding if you should go to jail or not.
I don’t know. I hope you do have a problem with it. This is not good for us.
And fortunately, we’re able to get some information out and a lot of what we’ve done in our campaign makes use of the internet. But also, there’s an attack on the internet right now. It’s stopping the bill that said they’re going to stop all theft on the internet, which means they’re opening up the doors to know everything you do and to measure everything you do to protect you from yourself.
Let me tell you, governments can’t protect you from yourself and they don’t need to be taking over the internet either. These things are done, you know, to take away the Fourth Amendment. They call that the Patriot Act for the internet, the Stop Online Piracy Act, always these good things.
You know, when that Patriot Act was being voted on, I remember it so clearly because I sat down next to another member and he was voting for it. And guess what? I was voting against it. And so I said to him, I said, why are you voting for this? I said, you probably don’t even know what’s in it.
You haven’t had a chance to read it. Oh, I know that. I said, you know, there’s going to be some bad stuff in there, don’t you? And I told him a few things.
Yeah, I know that. I said, why are you going to vote for it? He says, well, the conditions are we just had this attack. People want us to do something and it’s called the Patriot Act.
How can I vote against the Patriot Act? He said, what would I do if I had to go home and explain it to him? I said, well, that’s your job. Go home and explain it to him. You know why you’re doing it.
You know, one of the things that my brother-in-law Joe Kovacs always refers to is opposite world.And one of the things in opposite world is whenever someone calls something something, it’s the opposite. The Patriot Act is actually the unpatriot act.
Whenever somebody puts a label, think of the exact opposite. The Democrats say they’re for democracy. No, they’re for totalitarianism in the disguise of democracy.
Never believe a politician. Never believe a politician. Satan the devil is more believable and has more knowledge than any politician of telling the truth, which he cannot do because he’s the author of lies, the father of lies, according to Jesus Christ.
But Satan the devil has more truth than the average politician. We will have to make a decision real soon, whether it’s six months or two years. I don’t know, but it’s real soon that we’re able from Austrian perspective and economics to predict certain events will come.
We can’t tell when. Austrian economics taught that there was and we fully understood there was a housing bubble and we knew there was a Nasdaq bubble. We didn’t know the day that it would burst.
So there are certain events that are coming that are going to happen and they’re going to be very dangerous, but they might come in a day, a week or year. But the foundation of the system has been eroded. So therefore, the collapsing and the falling down of the system.
The financial system is on shaky legs. The militarism that we have overseas is very shaky because, you know, there are plans right now to spread the war into Syria and then how soon can we start bombing Iran? And that’s very precarious. So we now have a system where our personal liberties aren’t being protected and there could be problems in the street.
Can you imagine this was done in 2012 and he was predicting that we’re going to be bombing Iran? Didn’t happen, basically, until the president who went to the White House promising never toget us entangled in foreign wars is the one bombing Iran. But this has been what the deep state has wanted to do now for 20 years. And they don’t really want to bomb Iran for nuclear weaponslike we’re told.
They want to bomb Iran in order for their people, the industrial military complex, gets rich off of making the bombs, making the planes, making the boats, making the ammunition. That’s what it’s all about. And it’s selling America down the drain, a lawless leadership amongst the lawless commercial corporatism of this country that is destroying this country, is destroying your future, is destroying the future of your children and grandchildren.
And there will not be a United States of America that you will recognize in another 20 or 30 years unless we go back to God, start praying for this country, and stopping these immoral, evil, dictator-loving elected officials from destroying this precious nation that so many people died to preserve. So many people through all our wars died to preserve this constitution, this sacred constitution that ensured liberty to the individual, not just what government could do and could not do, but what they could not do to you, personally. You have God-given rights.
And our government, under these evil, moralist leadership that we have today, are taking away our God-giving liberties and rights in the disguise of patriotism. It’s the furthest thing away from patriotism and stopping terrorism. It really is.
That’s all I have to say about it. We’re about out of time for this program. I just hope that people start listening and reading things and not taking what a president says or a congressman says or a newspaper says or your TV newsman says.
There’s too many people bought and paid for in this country. There’s too much corruption and there’s too much lawlessness and it’s going to be our end if we don’t stop it soon. I’m afraid we’re not gonna, friends.
