Jesus Christ one time said that the end times would be like the times of Noah, where people were unaware of it right up until the moment that Noah and the seven people with him entered into the ark and the flood came. And what is it about Noah’s flood that Jesus saw the need to compare the end times to? Hi, this is Bob Barney with The Plain Truth Today, and I want to go into a news story because, again, the Bible isn’t religion, the Bible is news, it’s full of history of news events, and yes, the flood did happen, and it was a news event that wiped out most of the living creatures on the face of the earth. And but what was it that Jesus is referring to when he said it would be a time like Noah? What was going on in Noah’s time that would be a comparison of what’s going on today, or frankly, what’s going to be going on in the future when the end time approaches? And that’s the subject of today’s show.

And I didn’t really study for this show, and this is off the top of my head, but I have some thoughts about this that I think it’s very important that people at least consider. We think, we watch these movies of Noah’s ark and Noah’s flood, that these were these ancient primitive cavemen type people who built this massive boat with the direction of God, and they made it out of wood, and they coated it with pitch and tar, although no one really knows what the Hebrew word for pitch really comes from, and it could mean something different. And that these primitive people built an ark and got all of these animals on board with very little help except from God. It’s no wonder why people think it’s a fairy tale, because of the way it’s been presented, even by our churches and by the movies that our churches endorse, we see that the people by the time of Noah were primitive cavemen type people. And I want to tell you that I have a different belief, and I believe when I explain what my belief is, and you will not find most of this in the Bible, I always warn people when I’m giving opinions based on my reading of the Bible. So just take my opinion with a grain of salt, but at least listen to my point of view, and maybe you will see that I have some legitimate points.

What could it be that Noah’s time equals the time of the end? And the time of the end, by the prophet Daniel, says it would be a time when learning would increase. And with the internet and with the search engines, can we deny that the knowledge has increased a billion fold in just 100 years? What was available to people 100 years ago was nowhere comparable to the knowledge, maybe worthless knowledge, but the knowledge that’s available at everybody’s fingertip, right at their iPhone or their Android phone or their computer, that wasn’t available just 30 years ago, just 30 years. I’ve seen so much innovation in my lifetime that it’s almost impossible to remember how I lived in the 1970s without a cell phone, but I did, and so did everyone else. And so we have to think for a minute, when Jesus was talking about the end time, and Jesus is God, and Jesus had foreknowledge of the end times, he saw a time of jet aircraft or maybe even aircraft that could fly like UFOs, we could say today, with anti-gravity type mechanism to fly. There’s all kinds of fusion reactors in the process, there’s all kinds of science that is going to make possible travel at almost the speed of light theoretically possible, there’s all kinds of knowledge that is going to increase which will bring about the destruction of mankind in a holocaust nuclear world war that Christ has to come back to save us from ourselves. Now when we think about the flood, we have to think about what were these people? They’re about a thousand years old, mankind was placed on the earth a little over a thousand years earlier than Noah.

As a matter of fact, most of the people, names that are named before Noah, and it’s a very good study, and maybe if I can find it, I’ll do that on a Sabbath day sometime, put up the study, how many people died that’s mentioned in the book of Genesis, how many people died because of the flood? Quite a few, because these people lived right up until the time of the flood, and that’s what killed them. And so what was it about these people? What did they know that God found it necessary not only to wipe out the human race, but he was going to wipe out every living creature that was on land, not in the waters, but on land? Could it be, and this is a sci-fi question of the day, could it be that the people in the time of Noah were as advanced or even more advanced than we are today? Do you know, with the way we claim the pyramids were made, it was impossible to make the pyramids? I think anybody could do a very quick search and realize without modern equipment that we have today, we could easily build the pyramids. But what they claim the people who built the pyramids did in order to build the pyramids is impossible. And that’s where you get these ideas, oh, there was aliens from other planets to help the Egyptians build the pyramids, which is nonsense. But my contention is there was a knowledge, knowledge increased rapidly in the first 1,000 years of mankind because there was not death. There was very little people dying. People lived these incredible long lifespans of 600, 700, 900 years. I think Methuselah was 969 years old when he died. That knowledge increased much more rapidly than knowledge could increase in our lifetime up until now because people who gain knowledge take that knowledge to the grave when they die.

Think about all the knowledge that Nikolai Tesla took to the grave with him. He was talking about getting electricity for free from the sky, and you could light up cities and homes and factories and farms with free electricity from the sky. And it was so real and possible that his major backer of the day decided not to back Tesla because he couldn’t find a way to make a profit giving away electricity that was free in the air. And so when you have people living incredibly long lives when they don’t die, and so that knowledge is still there alive what other people thinking, and so you have these a bunch of old people, honestly, comparing notes. And so they, in their first 1,000 years of the existence of mankind, obviously gained a knowledge of scientific and other mathematical questions that we maybe don’t even have today. And I believe that Noah’s Ark is not the ark that we see in the movies or on the nice pic.

I have a picture of Noah’s Ark landing with the rainbow over in my office, but maybe it wasn’t the way we think it is. Maybe Noah’s Ark was one of the most advanced ships of the day that would even be advanced in our day. And when, you know, David Fassold discovered him in Vendel Jones, discovered what I believe to be the true site of Noah’s Ark, and you can see it right now, it’s in Armenia, you do Noah’s Ark Armenia and you will see a picture of Noah’s Ark. And you will see the studies that was done by David Fassold and Vendel Jones where they found iron patterns that the ship, Noah’s Ark, had a rib, like a modern shape ship has a rib structure of iron, not of wood, but of iron. And so is it possible that Noah’s Ark was as modern or even more modern than the most modern ships we had today? Were men able to fly around in airplane type vehicles in the time of the patriarchs before, I should say before the patriarchs, but in the time of the first people on earth? Could it be they were so advanced that they were doing genetic experiments like we are today, like Dolly the sheep, you know, that was born in a test tube some 30 years ago. Could they have been messing around with DNA? And so they were polluting animals and they were creating creatures that we see as maybe dinosaurs or things that we do not no longer see in existence today, but we see their fossil record and their bones. Could it be that man was experimenting by trying to make huge beast and trying to manipulate DNA and trying to manipulate bodies? There are, and again, you can look this up, they’re not alive today, but there are skeletons of people who were 9, 10, 11, and 12 feet tall, and they’re not around today. How did they get that tall? Were they that tall and we degenerated into a lower height people? Or more likely was their genetic engineering going on that they were playing God. They were playing God with their own DNA, like we are today. They were playing God with animals’ DNA, like we’re doing today. They were playing God with all kinds of medical experiments, like we’re doing today. And they were very technically advanced, being able to make large ships out of iron, like we do today.

And they were able to do all kinds of discoveries that is just unimaginable that we think the minds of those people were capable of doing. And yet, I believe there is a case to be made that the people before the flood were more advanced of a civilization than we have today. Case in point, Atlantis. We think Atlantis is a fairy tale. It’s a part of Greek mythology. And yet, there are many archaeologists, there are many scientists, there are many historians who believe there was a place called Atlantis that had a very advanced civilization that was written about by the Greek philosophers, and that it was a real place. And it maybe was in the Atlantic Ocean. There is a ridge of mountains that go down the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. If you drain the water and look at a map of the earth without water, you can see a massive mountain range that if the water receded, like it was before the flood, would have been above the ground, and it would have been a huge continent. Could that have been Atlantis? Maybe. But my point is, for some reason, and this is the, it should make you at least question, why would Jesus compare a very modern end times with all this advanced civilization, why would he compare it to the time of Noah? Unless maybe they too were living in a very advanced civilization, far more advanced than we ever thought possible in what we see on our TV shows, movies about Noah’s Ark, and the paintings we have over our office furniture. So again, I think you’ll find that it’s very possible that the things that we are doing today, because history just repeats itself, one of the themes that I keep saying is, when you don’t know your history, and some of our history has been erased, and I suggest not because of our fault, much of history is erased because of our fault, but this history was erased because of a flood, and it was not to be taken on the ark and recorded, because God did not want man to advance so quickly again, as he did before the flood, to where he could destroy the earth again.

Was there a nuclear bomb before Noah’s Ark? Were people working with atomic energy? Were people working with maybe even fission and fusion? Possibly. I do not doubt that it could not have been the case. Remember, the God of this world is Satan the devil. We had a show about that about a year ago, and you can go to Bible, and you can say, who is the God of this world? And any kind of Bible lookup, and it’s going to take you to the place where Paul says that the God of this world is Satan, and that he inspires the people of this world, and Satan is very, very smart. He was one of the four archangels, and was a brilliant, beautiful angel, archangel of God until he rebelled, and so he has the knowledge of God. What did he promise Eve when she ate of the fruit? That God was lying to her, number one, and that she would be like God, knowing good and evil, and so my idea is that Satan, along with his demons, did everything they could do in the first peoples, starting with Adam and Eve, deceiving them, but giving them hidden knowledge that God knows, that God knew was not good for us to know, and that is why God did not want Adam and Eve to partake of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, because God understood that the carnal mind will gravitate towards evil, and God was trying to protect Adam and Eve from falling into the trap of the devil, and choosing an evil, what they call it, an evil genius path of destruction, and it just seems a practical thing to me that the reason that Jesus did compare the two times as the same is the advancement of civilization that occurred before the flood, and the loss of civilization after the flood.

We have a modern, a semi-modern day example of this, and it’s called the Dark Ages. Rome was in a very advanced civilization, not as advanced as us, but for the time, in the 5-600 AD time, Rome was very advanced. They had advanced warfare, they had advanced warships, they had advanced weapons, they had advanced knowledge of building roads and aqueducts, you name it, they were very advanced people, and then Rome fell. We had a show on our America is America like Rome, and are we going to fall, which we are, and when Rome fell to the barbarian invasion, the world was plunged into a dark age, and all of the knowledge of building these great big buildings and archways and aqueducts was lost, and if not for the monks, which there was no monks after the flood, if there was, they would have been drowned because they weren’t on the ark, if it wasn’t for the monks writing down what they did and doing the work that they did during the Dark Ages, we would have basically no history of what the Roman Republic and empire was, and without the Bible, we would have no idea of ancient Israel and ancient Egypt and ancient Assyria and Babylon. So we do owe much of the knowledge that we have that kept us out of the Dark Ages and brought us into the Middle Ages and then what’s called the Age of Enlightenment because of the Roman Catholic Church. You’ve heard me disparage the Roman Catholic Church because they are Babylon mystery of religion, but the monks did keep that knowledge alive, and believe it or not, Satan the devil wanted to keep that knowledge alive too as well because he wanted to make sure that man would progress as quickly as possible after the fall of Rome and able to destroy the world before too many years would go by again. So there’s the whole idea of how the knowledge of Rome made it through the Dark Ages, but the point I wanted to make is they were Dark Ages and what happened after the flood was another kind of a Dark Age planned by God and brought about by Noah himself because Noah was a man of God, listened and obeyed God, and I’m sure God would have told Noah that he was to take nothing on the ark of the former world and what it was like. So therefore, Noah’s descendants would not try to duplicate that. And what do we see within one or two generations after Noah’s ark lands? We see the Tower of Babel and we see the advancements being made because the people had one language still in the earth and the advancement they were making, making a skyscraper trying to get to heaven, and one of the theories is they were trying to make a skyscraper, the Tower of Babel, that was taller than the floodwaters were on earth.

So therefore, if God sent another flood on the earth, the king could run up to the top and not be swept away. I mean, why didn’t he build an ark himself? Don’t know, but they didn’t have the technology maybe. But what does God say to themselves? And I say themselves because there are two beings that we call God. First of all, there is the God that we refer to as Jesus Christ. That is this word or the spokesman of the Godhead. And there is another member of the Godhead that we know as God the Father, who became God the Father when Jesus stepped down from his position as being a co-equal God with the Father and became his son, literally, physically, on earth and maintain that status to this day. And now we have a father-son relationship when before the fall of man, we had a co-equal Godhead where Jesus and the God the Father were equal in the relationship. But Jesus, for the love of his creation, us, we are his creation, Christ made us, and we are made in his image, that because of his love for us, he stepped off his pedestal as a co-equal God with the Father, which became the Father, and became the Son of God, and is today sitting at the right hand of God the Father in heaven and is not equal to God the Father any longer. And we really owe a lot to that. But the idea that Jesus Christ did this for us to save us from this knowledge would tell me that the same Jesus Christ who was speaking to Noah would make sure that nothing was brought on the ark that would cause people to rapidly progress. And what we saw with the Tower of Babel is they were rapidly progressing because of one language. And so when the two gods are talking to each other and look at what man is doing, let us go down and confuse them.

Babylon means confusion.

And so God went down and destroyed the tower and broke up the language into many languages, and so people could not think together, work together, and then people started separating around the world based on language. People who don’t speak the same language don’t stay around each other very long, except unless you’re an alien living in America keeping your old culture, but that’s a different story. But again, this is nothing you are going to find in the Bible, and I do not want people running off thinking this is a new form of religion here. I just am pointing out something that I think is very important, and that is, could it be that Jesus compared the time of the end with the time of Noah because of this rapid advancement we are making today in the sciences and health and medicine, which are not really advancements at all? In fact, they could end up enslaving us to these same people who are trying to turn us into robots and to slaves, and to replace us with robots as well, with the so-called AI. And I always like to laugh about AI. Anybody who ever tries to use AI, calling a bank for help, or calling a company for help that has to try to get through a robot telephone operator, it almost pulls your hair out, and you have to keep saying over and over again, you know, customer service, please, customer service, please, customer service, and you have to say it over and over again. And finally, when the computer says, okay, we’re going to get you somebody to answer your question, we’re going to get you customer service, and you have to talk to a person in order to fix the problem. And so, you know, sometimes this artificial intelligence is not very intelligent at all, it’s artificial unintelligence, and it can lead to a great massive destruction that may be coming to this earth, not maybe, it’s going to be coming to this earth, Jesus predicted it, it’s going to happen, it’s going to come true, if you like it or not, if you believe it or not. And if you don’t believe the stories of the Bible, you have a big, you’re making a big mistake, because the Bible is accurate. Time and time again, historians and archaeology claim this story in the Bible is not true. Just last week, for example, on The Plain Truth, we reported that the walls of the city of David were built during Hezekiah’s time, that King David did not build them, as the Bible said.

And what do they find? They find walls, they date these walls, they look into these walls, and even, I should say, irreligious, atheist archaeologists and scientists now admit that the walls around the city of David came from the time of David, and they can do that by inscriptions mentioning David and his kingdom, and they can also tell by the pottery and how the pottery looks, and the time frame the pottery was made inside these walls. And again, the point here is the Bible turns out to be 100% accurate in their description of the past, and what we believe was accurate about the past turns out to be plain wrong. And it’s done time and time again. I had a show about this a week ago, I think we played it on the Sabbath day, that many of the things, you know, up into the 1960s, major theologians said Jesus Christ never walked on this earth, that he’s a figure of an imagination, there is no references to Jesus Christ else other than the New Testament, and that was just provable wrong at the time. Josephus mentioned him, Tacticus mentioned him, many different extra anti-Christian sources mentioned him, and we know now Jesus did exist, and unlike the movement in the 1960s that thought Jesus was a code word for a mind-altering mushroom, that was during, you know, the LSD days, everything was mind-altering, it turns out Jesus was a real human being who lived on this earth, who died for our sins, and was resurrected to heaven. He’s in heaven today, sitting at the right hand of God the Father, and is our Savior that’s coming back to this world to save us.

As we wrap up this show, with just the idea that maybe the reason that Christ compared the time we’re starting to live in to the time of Noah, and could be that our whole concept of ancient man is totally wrong, just like we’ve been wrong about everything else that the Bible claims, and our scientists have to change their stories about what is history. And so, you know, I keep saying the Bible is 100 percent, in its original translation, the word and the thoughts of God. God does exist, and God is part of the news. In fact, God is the greatest newscaster there ever was, and God is the biggest newsmaker that’s, and still is, that will ever be. In a moment’s notice, God can change the course of world history, and has done so many times, and we just don’t recognize it. We don’t recognize it because we want to live in a secular world, and we don’t attribute everything to God as the ancients did, or even the American Indians did.

The American Indians realized that everything in nature, and everything in their life, had to do with God, and they weren’t far off. They understood nature is proof of a living Creator God, and that anyone who comes away as an atheist is really a fool, and the Bible calls atheists’ fools, and also calls atheists lovers of death, and isn’t it amazing that atheist, communist, leftist leaders are for abortion, they’re for euthanasia, and they’re for death. 

So, just a thought from the Plain Truth today, commentary about could the flood times be very similar to these times that we’re living in and going into, in a vastly different way than we expected it to be, and that they were a very advanced culture, maybe even more advanced than we are today. So, again, we try to bring a lot of points of view to the Plain Truth that people don’t think about all the time, and I think these points of view should be thought about. I think you should, you should, first of all, I think you have to prove that God exists, and once you can, and it’s very easy to do, and once you prove that God exists, and you have to then prove, is the Bible really the Word of God, and I think that’s a very easy thing to do, just with fulfilled prophecy, and after you believe, and I think many people listen to this, believe in God, and they believe the Bible, so then you have to believe what the Bible says, and you have to live a life and understand that the Bible is a recording of history’s news stories, and it also is a prediction of tomorrow’s news stories.
