Friday Wrap-Up with Bob Barney: November 15, 2024 (Transcript)

Hello, this is Bob Barney with The Plain Truth Today, brought to you by theplaintruth.com, and it’s Friday Wrap-Up time.

I don’t know if it’s my age or what, but these wrap-ups come awful fast, these Fridays do anyway.

We are going to go over what were the major headlines of the week and for the most part this week I would like to get away from the election results. Truth of the matter, though, is the election is still what is on everybody’s mind, and it is what is important. It is important because it’s your life that’s going to be in the crosshairs of the Democrats and Republicans vying back and forth, and I told you in one of the shows this week that I think the Republicans are overplaying this win…they’re thinking of some big mandate. I don’t think they realize it was such an anti-Biden and anti-Harris vote, and that’s why down ticket from Trump did not get the support from the public that Trump did. I think a lot of people voted for Trump that did not even like Donald Trump, and just hopeful that he’s got to be better because they’ve already lived through four years of Donald Trump. Knowing it was a way better time what Biden and Harris gave us.

A good deal of the stories of the week revolves around who was appointed what position.

For example, Marco Rubio, the senator from Florida, is going to be Secretary of State, and I think he will pass the Senate muster quite easily. This girl you see a lot on TV as a spokesman for Donald Trump over the summer and into the election time, Caroline Levitt. She’s only 27 years old, and she can hold her own with CNN and with the reporters. Well, she’s going to be press secretary, and I think many people are happy with that. One of the picks that I am not happy with at all, and I don’t think is even going to be able to pass the Senate, and that is Matt Gaetz from Florida. I almost referred to him as Waltz. The two pretty much are bad. Matt Gaetz is the person that went to war with Kevin McCarthy last year, got him ousted as speaker, and that trauma to the Republican brand made it all the way to this election, and that is why Speaker Johnson, who I was not in favor of becoming speaker. I thought we should have left things alone in an election year, and I think I would be proved right if McCarthy was left alone. I think the Republicans would have done much better in the House. I think many people saw last year’s 15, 18 votes to get McCarthy in January, and only one person, Matt Gaetz, to get him out by the springtime.

I think it just disgusted many people. I know it disgusted me.

I wouldn’t give Gaetz a job as a security guard at an all-girl high school because I don’t know if these charges against him that they were investigating him for are actually true or not. I’ll tell you the truth. If I were a Republican senator and I was a Trump-supporting Republican senator, now you’ve got to remember one thing. The Senate, unlike the House members, lasts six years in office, and they are not always as married to a president and a president’s fortunes as is a House member.

So I can understand the House members getting in line, although I heard several House members today actually—I’m sorry, last night—actually say they think if he had to be approved by the Republicans in the House, he would maybe get seven votes. So that’s how popular Matt Gaetz is in the House. But if I was a senator, and I had a vote on this guy, and I think maybe there could be some smoke with that underage female sex trafficking situation he was accused of. It seems like Kevin McCarthy thought it was true, it seems to me that I wouldn’t vote for the guy because I sure wouldn’t want this thing to blow up next year and find out that it is all true, and I’m on record for voting for the guy, especially if I’m up for election in two years or four years, because I guarantee you my opponent, my Democrat opponent, would be running those ads as to how I supported this person who ends up in jail if that would be the case.

So I just think that was a bad pick.

I understand why Donald Trump picked him because he’s a bullfighter, he said to that female prosecutor, and I can’t think of her name, in Georgia, get ready, I’m going after you, you might be indicted, you may end up in jail. I don’t have a problem with that, by the way. That’s what the Democrats have done to Donald Trump. I think there needs to be some payback, and I believe whoever broke the law needs to go to jail. Some of the good picks, I think RFK Jr. for HHS and Tulsi Gabbard and for national security, and I think Mike Huckabee for Ambassador to Israel is a great pick. The other thing I think they need to do is pick former congressmen and former senators. Don’t pull them out right now when Mike Johnson needs everybody he can get.

So the other thing that I think is pretty important is that Oprah Winfrey at first said she didn’t take a dime from that million-dollar scandal that she was paid by the Harris campaign. Well, it turns out she was right, she didn’t take a dime, she took a million dollars! As it turned out, and I’m going to play something here from Fox News Watter’s World Show last night, that I think is going to be very telling.

I believe, and I added earlier in the week, that this election and the Harris campaign was a gigantic billionaire scam scandal. I think almost like a bookie taking bets from somebody who bets for the A team and taking bets from somebody from a B team, and they don’t care who wins because they win on the bet anyway. But anyway, I think you’re going to find, if there is a good investigation into this story, I think you’re going to find a horrifying chain of events where people knowingly knew months ago, she was going to lose and didn’t care. They didn’t care because they were soaking their donors out of a billion dollars, and they were paying it to themselves. You’re going to find that to be the case. They were paying it to their friends like Oprah Winfrey and Al Sharpton, and who knows, I wonder how much Beyonce got. How much did Bruce Springsteen take in? These people, everybody thought they were doing these concerts for free, but it turns out maybe they weren’t, and don’t look like they were. We know two names already, and I think more names are going to drop. Hopefully Judicial Watch brings it up. 

Let me play you some of the, and I might pause a little bit once in a while but let me play this segment of the Jesse Watters show and what he had to say about this scam and about Al Sharpton, about just everything that went on.

From Harris, and why wouldn’t they? She burned them for a billion bucks and wasn’t even close. Her campaign looks like one big fat money laundering operation. She was shaking down billionaires to pay millionaires. Oprah was forced to- Actually, she was shaking down billionaires to pay millionaires, and in some cases, millionaires to pay billionaires, because Beyonce and Oprah’s, that’s what I’m saying. Billionaires were the ones making the money here. This is a major scandal. Let’s go on. Yeah. She was paid a million dollars for her Kamala interview. She says, I did not take any personal fee. However, the people who worked on that production needed to be paid and were. End of story. She’s not the only one. Just weeks before Kamala did an interview with Al Sharpton, the Harris campaign donated a half a billion dollars to reverence non-profit. That’s according to the Free Vegan. Why is Kamala’s presidential campaign funneling 500 grand to the National Action Network right before an interview with Al, the National Action Network? Why is a political campaign bribing Al Sharpton with charitable donations? Do you know what Al Sharpton does with money from his non-profit? The Rev in one year spent a million dollars on private jets and limos. It’s a slush fund for the Reverend and his crew. It’s been in trouble with the IRS for years for tax evasion.

And Kamala’s like, oh, here you go. Take half a mil. Imagine if you gave Kamala 500 grand to win Pennsylvania, and she just handed it to Al to take a private jet to Tahiti. Happy DEI Thursday. This is the same campaign that the media said was perfect. Kamala Harris ran basically a flawless campaign. I think because she ran an incredible campaign, it’s been very telling about who we are. She ran a flawless campaign, and I maintain that.

This is the mainstream media before the election. CNN, MSNBC, ABC, CNN, CBS, all of them was saying what a flawless campaign she was running and that she was going to win. She was, this was a major scam. And I just wonder how much money people from CNN got, personally. How much money did, if Al Sharpton got money, he’s on MSNBC, did Morning Joe get money? Did the people on ABC get money? Did that moderator, the debate moderator get money? The one that tried to make the debate go for Kamala Harris and fact-checked Trump and lied about the fact-checking? You just have to ask yourself, you really do, you have to ask yourself, how far does this scandal go? Who got money? And I hope somebody, maybe Judicial Watch, hint, hint if anybody’s listening from there, goes after this, gets a Freedom of Information Act and sues. This is public money. This is campaign money for public office. This is controlled by federal law. And if you’re in a Ponzi scheme or some kind of scheme to steal money from donors, to give to your friends and allies, then there needs to be people paying the fiddler here. There needs to be jail sentences.

If Oprah Winfrey took a payoff, if Al Sharpton took a payoff, and it seems like it was pay to play, the old rockola thing from the 1950s where they paid disc jockeys to play songs and many disc jockeys went to jail over it, lost their career over it, one committed suicide over it. He lived in my town, as a matter of fact. If these people were taking money and I believe it’s going to turn out to be they were, then I think, and I really mean this, I really think these people need to be prosecuted and these media stars, if they took the money for pay for play, then they need to go to jail. So maybe Matt Gaetz will do that much. We’ll see. But let’s go on with this Jesse Watters interview.

It was an historic, flawlessly run campaign. I mean, it was flawless if you were Al Sharpton. But the raging Cajun, he’s headed up to here. And wants the entire Democrat establishment to just do a walk of shame out of Washington.

Who he’s talking about, and he’s going to play here is James Carville, who made it his famous name for himself in the Bill Clinton years when he helped get Bill Clinton elected. He adequately or correctly said, it’s the economy, stupid, because they were talking about everything but the economy. He knew that Bill Clinton had a chance because of the economy, and also because of Ross Perot running, and something a lot of people forget. But it was the same thing this election, by the way.

James Carville didn’t want to hear this a month ago and a week ago, two weeks ago even. But it was the economy, stupid. But anyway, here’s stupid James Carville.

For their sins, justify what you did wrong and tell us what you’re going to do different, because what you’ve done ain’t worth it. All right, get your head around that. If all of the Washington-based Democrats farting around, going to wine and cheese parties and talking about how misogynistic they said, get your ass out of Washington. And go work on a 2026 campaign and do penance to make up for your god arrogance and stupidity. All the Democrats can now do is just pray for the second coming. Hopefully for them, another messiah just mysteriously appears out of Hawaii. With a fake person. Evan Barker’s a former DNC volunteer who quit the party and voted Trump. How are you doing, Evan? Hi, Jesse. How are you? I’m fine. I’m probably a little better than you are, but that’s okay. Why did you quit the Democrat party and vote Trump? I mean, honestly, I saw this coming a mile away. When I was at the DNC, I saw what they were selling, and like most of America, I didn’t want to buy it. The people on The View and all of the media elites right now who are saying that Kamala Harris ran a perfect campaign are completely deluding themselves. This was not a perfect campaign. This was anything but. She trotted Liz Cheney all across the Rust Belt. She completely misunderstood the pain that the American people are going through right now with the economy, and she never addressed those concerns.

That’s why the Democratic party is lost. What did you see on the inside when you were there that shook you? I mean, I saw a lot of things. I’ve worked in Democratic politics, too, for a very long time, and over the last eight years, I’ve seen a party that has just moved further and further away from the working-class people of this country Bernie Sanders has come out. He said this. I wish he had done it before the election, but basically, Democrats have turned their backs on working-class people. They only know how to speak to the college-educated and the activist class. Do they talk down about the working class when you guys are alone? Absolutely. I’m originally from Kansas City. I’m from the middle of the country, and I hear insulting things all the time about people in my family who have long voted for Donald Trump, who originally voted for Barack Obama and have since switched to Trump. So, yeah, of course. I mean, I think at this point, most Trump voters know that the Democratic party thinks they’re garbage. It’s pretty much become an open secret. But yes, I mean, this is an election that was decided by Americans that have decided that they’ve had enough and they’re not going to stand for it. After you see Al Sharpton get a half a mil for an interview and Oprah get a mil for an interview, when you hear that as a former Democrat or as a Democrat, how does that make you feel? It’s absolutely disgusting. I mean, Donald Trump was out there speaking to the American people every single day. He was giving them real policy changes that could actually impact their lives. No tax on tips, no tax on overtime, no tax on Social Security. My grandmother right now in Missouri, she’s somebody who voted for Barack Obama and has now voted for Donald Trump twice. She lives off of her Social Security check, Jesse. She has had to cut down the amount of meals that she has every day because groceries have gotten so expensive. This is their reality. And then you’ve got a candidate that goes out there with Oprah Winfrey and Al Sharpton and is paying all these celebrities millions of dollars. It’s like the American people could see through that.

And that’s what happened. And that’s why he won. Do you feel like the party that you belong to feels bad about this at all? No, I think the party that I belong to is blaming everyone but themselves. And right now there’s a big discussion about who’s going to be the future leader of this party, right? Well, I’ve got a message for them right now. If you want to be the future leader of the Democratic Party, you need to make a video this week addressing the American people and telling them exactly the things that you did wrong. Not what the public’s done wrong, not what the voters did wrong, but what you did wrong and what your party did wrong as well. And the person that does that will emerge as the future leader of the Democratic Party because the American people want honesty. That’s what they want. So it’s like a bet.

We’re back, and this is Bob Barney again with theplaintruthtoday.com, brought to you by theplaintruth.com. One of the stories that we have on the Message Board, and I heard in a commercial about the Message Board, it’s a very happening place, you need to go there several times a day personally, but the FBI seized PolyMarket’s CEO’s phone and computer after he predicted that Donald Trump would win the election. It was one of those gambling sites that you heard so much about in this election cycle, because it turns out in the last two or three elections the gambling sites have been more accurate than the polls.

There was a time when I was watching a week before the election, the gambling site basically had Trump 64, Harris in the 30, 38, 36 percentiles. It was so funny, my wife and I were watching on the election night, and you could see at six o’clock, because the mainstream media was really trying to pull this election off, that she was going to pull this out. Maybe they’re a part of this scheme about getting more donors to give some last-minute money in this billion-dollar scheme, which I think is maybe one of the reasons. Anyway, we saw the betting go from a 64, 65 percent lead, where Trump went down to actually a 50, and Kamala Harris at a 49. Then eight o’clock came, and Trump went back to 54, and Kamala Harris went down to 46, or 45, I think it was. Then by 10 o’clock, Trump was at 67, and Kamala Harris was around 30. By 11 o’clock at night, Trump was at 98 cents. That’s all you could get. And Kamala Harris’s chance of winning was 2 cents.

So it was 98 to 2 before any station called the election.

So this guy must have really ticked off the FBI, which just shows Donald Trump, if anything, he’s got an FBI that he better clean out pretty quick because they’re coming after him and his people next. They seized this guy’s phone, and they’re going to really target him. 

Another position that was appointed this week that I have a little bit of reservations about is the biggest one I have is Matt Gaetz. I’ll just go there right now. Second to the biggest that I have a little bit of concern about is this Pete Hegseth from Fox News. He is a war hero, and he is an expert on the military. He was in, I believe, the Army. The problem about Washington, D.C. and the sewer there, unless you have someone in the high echelon of the Defense Department that really knows the ins and outs and where all the skeletons are buried and where the things are that you need to look for, I think a newbie going into that position is going to make a lot of mistakes before they learn the ropes. Sometimes it’s better to find the person that you can trust that does work there, has worked there, and knows what’s going on.

I’ll give you an example.

One of these 400-page defense contracts is loaded with pork. Is he skilled enough to go through those? Will he have the right aides to help him understand where he’s being had? Back in the 1950s, Bob McNamara, who ran Ford at the time, was considered one of the smartest men in the world. In fact, many people said he was the smartest man in the world. He was a genius at Ford, although he did make the Edsel. But that’s another story. But anyway, when John Kennedy became president, he wanted the best and the brightest in his cabinet and it was supposed to be the, I believe, the 5,000 IQ cabinet or something like that where everybody in his cabinet were geniuses…certified geniuses by their IQ. At the head of that was Bob McNamara, who was given the job as defense secretary. The trouble with Bob McNamara was he knew nothing about the job he was in. It’s like a lot of businesses today.

You know, I run a paint company, and a paint company has its own unique circumstances to run a business. If you take a guy from a paint company, he ain’t going to know what he’s doing. He’s not going to make any right decisions because he does not know how to manufacture paint. He does not understand the processes. He’s at the mercy of people telling him what they can do and what they can’t do making paint. Well, that’s the same thing that’s going to happen. And it happened to Bob McNamara. He got us into Vietnam big time by the time he realized that the generals were lying to him and lying to President Kennedy. Maybe that’s one of the reasons Kennedy was killed when he realized and he was pulling out of Vietnam, that McNamara then became this dove. He went from a hawk to a dove and actually was fired by LBJ after he turned on the war in Vietnam…after he was responsible for some, at his time, probably 25,000, 30,000 young kids to get killed in Vietnam.

This is what happens when even the best and the brightest go into a situation that they really don’t know what they’re doing. They think they do, but they may not.

Another good piece of information that was on the Plain Truth Today was that Speaker Johnson, and I like this, orders the entire Biden administration to preserve all records and documents. There needs to be great investigations in all the stuff that went on. What went on at the Justice Department under Merrick Garland? What went on at FEMA? What went on with ICE and the border? What went on in all of these other departments? Why did we have such an array of wackos in the Biden cabinet? Why did Kamala Harris even get picked? People voted for that, so that’s not an investigable thing.

Anyway, the last thing I’m going to talk about, and then that’s it for the weekend, and I hope everyone has a good weekend, was, once again, if you know in 2016, there’s only one Democrat that knew Hillary Clinton was going to lose. That was her husband, Bill Clinton. He tried to warn her, and he tried to warn her handlers. She was going to lose Wisconsin. She was in trouble with her base because she was only talking to the elite. She was not talking to the working class, to the union person, to the woman who was working with a one-income family, and he said, I think you got problems in Wisconsin. You better go to Wisconsin, and Hillary just shook them off, said, Wisconsin, we’re going to win that by a mile, and she lost it. Bill Clinton, it turns out, we have this again on the Message Board, Bill Clinton warned the Harris campaign about the radical transposition, and he was totally ignored! Right now, Democrats, or right then, I think that is one of the reasons that many Democrats wanted to see Kamala go down in flames…but at the time, if you wanted to be on TV, especially these left-winged media stations like MSNBC, you have to be DEI, trans, queer, you name it, and if you’re against it, they’re going to kick you off the TV set. They’re going to go after you personally. They’re going to try to put you in jail, and if you’re a Democrat, they’re going to get you out of office, and they’re going to put you in jail, like the ex-governor of Illinois, Now this is what they’re probably going to do to the mayor of New York City who went against them on the immigration policy. 

This is what the Democrats do to their enemies, even if their enemies are themselves. You saw that with Joe Biden. Look what they did to him, but they didn’t realize maybe he was going to have the last laugh…and did Joe Biden vote for Donald Trump? I think he did. That smile he had in the White House the other day told it all. Jill Biden going to vote in a red dress told me a lot of things going on. Joe Biden thought he was, and he rightfully thought, he was replaced without any cause that they could bring up, because they’re the ones that lied about how on the ball he was. They’re the ones that lied how great he was, that he was more capable than anybody in his staff. Remember all those things? So, he saw himself being stabbed in the back, mainly by Barack Obama, and he was really mad. That’s why he wanted Kamala Harris to replace him, because he knew she’d go down in a fireball. He worked with her for four years. As senile as that old man was, he knew that she was a moron. Anybody that’s with her for 10 minutes knows that she don’t have a brain in her body, or in her head for sure, but not even in her whole body and he knew it. He knew by supporting her that it tied the hands of the Democrats who wanted to have an open convention and find a new nominee and push her out the door.  Joe Biden didn’t let it happen because he knew he’s the only man in his mind that beat Donald Trump in 2020, though I don’t believe he honestly did, but that’s another story.

He also believes, and I believe this, I think if Joe Biden signed on the ticket, first of all, he would not have raised a billion dollars. And so, a half a billion dollars probably would have been saved by donors who were ripped off, probably illegally. I think he would have carried more states and he would have done a better job against Donald Trump than Kamala Harris. I think he might have even held Trump to about 290 electoral votes, and he himself could be in the middle 250s, 60s in that area. He was a much better candidate, even as a senile old man, than that woman is ever going to be. 

So anyway, that’s the Friday wrap up, and we’re out of time until Monday. Monday is when I come back here and I’m behind the microphone and we will talk about some new issues. Hopefully, I’m going to get away from this election stuff, because it’s starting to get boring to me. In fact, I think it’s getting boring to everybody else out there. Everything is going to heat up again when Congress meets in January when they have to go over these nominees. Watch that Matt Gaetz thing, and you’re going to find a lot of fireworks coming with that one yet.
