Best of Bob- Will Mark Johnson Do the Job? From early 2025

There’s a story today on the Plain Truths message board that I think people may find interesting, and it’s entitled, Gang of Eight Republican House Members Seek More Abortion Rights. And that’s the topic of today’s show. This is Bob Barney with the Plain Truth Today podcast, and I wanted to talk about the problems that people have concerning what’s going on with the House-controlled Republicans and why I was not for Speaker McCarthy being replaced, and I am not yet convinced that Mike Johnson is going to be any more effective and maybe even less effective than McCarthy was, and here is why.Unlike the Democrats, which always seem to vote in unison and in block, with maybe the exception of Jews and Israel, where the anti-Semitism of many of the Democrats is starting to show through, I have to admit that when it comes to Republicans, it is much harder for a speaker to gain control of the Republican committees, or I should say the Republican members of the House, than it is for, like Nancy Pelosi had when she was controlling the Democrats. When Nancy Pelosi would knock the gavel over your head, you were in trouble if you disagreed with her, your career was probably over, you probably was expelled from every committee, and they would makesure that someone ran against you in your primary and that you would lose, even if they had to steal the primary election away from you. So Democrats are held in total fear, in the House anyway, of their speaker, whereas Republicans do not have that luxury if you’re a leader. You have more rhino Republicans than anybody really wants to admit, and this was the problem that Speaker McCarthy was facing when he was trying to walk a tightrope to keep the gang ofultra-right conservatives led by Matt Gaetz, who I think is an absolute fool, and on top of that, I think Matt Gaetz is unpatriotic. All Matt Gaetz cares about is himself. If he thought about thecountry, he would not have put the Republicans through the mess they went through trying to find a new speaker and making the Democrats look good to the average American, where people that Iknow personally who are Republican voters, who are Trump voters, were so disgusted with theRepublican House members that they actually wished the Democrats were back in control. And if you think that’s a good thing, then you need your head examined because the Republicansdo not show unity, and the vast majority of Americans out there simply do not have the grasp on politics that many of us political animal junkies do have. They work their jobs from eight to five or whenever their jobs are. They have a hard time making ends meet and buying gas and food for their tables, and they watch a little bit of the news.I told this in a previous broadcast, just enough news to pollute their mind because they’re mainly watching either local TV news controlled by the big media or the big media news, which is trying to push an agenda to make Republicans look terrible. And so when Republicans do look terrible and they can’t get their act together, then you have this disgust where people just don’t go out to vote. And if all of the people who would tend to vote Republican would go out to vote, the Democrats couldn’t steal an election if they tried, because the vast majority of people who do not vote would vote Republican or conservative, not necessarily Republican, or I should even say populist, if they voted. But too many people do not care about their House members or their local politicians because they don’t think that it makes a difference. And so today’s story on the message board, and I hope every day, there’s parts of the plain truth that I think you should go to every day. The main page, of course, where you have the headlines, and that’s headlines around the world, and we go around, search different headlines of interest, and we put it up there. And then there are stories that people who are registered can post. Even if you’re not registered, you can post. I just have to approve it or somebody has to approve it.And it’s whatever topics you want. I mean, we have all kinds of secular topics on the message board, not just politics or religion or what God thinks. I mean, we have something on Britney Spears falling apart. We have things on just all kinds of different things. Your Health Today has many topics on the message board as well as Your Health Today. In fact, there’s probably more Your Health Today topics on the message board, if you look at it, than there is on Your Health Today. But from the main page of the plain truth, you can get to all of these different channels that we have. We have a Your Health Today. We have, of course, the message board. We have these podcasts, or I like to call broadcasts, and, of course, the topics for the main page of theplaintruth.com. But one of the things that I was going to get to is this issue of today’s story on the message board about the number of Republicans who really are for abortion. And this is why I say, and this is going to make many out there mad that listen to me, that we should not be making abortion the pivotal point of our message to get people out to vote because, frankly, America is not the moral country that it used to be. Frankly, many Americans, mostly women Americans, are for abortion in their back pocket, meaning they will pull that they’re against abortion. They personally do not want abortion. They think abortion should be limited. But at the same time, especially those with daughters, think, well, just in case something goes wrong, I need that abortion in my back pocket. So if your entire election message is about abortion and outlawing abortion, you’re going to lose every single time. The Democrats are going to play hey. They’re going to lie about everything else you stand for. They’re going to make the election all about the right of abortion and how radical it is, how women have no rights over their body, etc., etc. You know the story. However, you don’t win a war by focusing on one battle, and generals who do that lose. The battle to save America spiritually as well as morally and as well as economically, the battle to save America is many-faceted. I went into this together in another broadcast about just a few economic things we could do to absolutely turn the economy around, turn unemployment around, turn everything around that you wanted to do, and that’s getting rid of the IRS and income tax, number one, and stop printing money and lowering the inflation that makes poor people poor. But even Donald Trump, and I think Donald Trump is a very smart man, and I think he’s one of the most astute politicians that understand the pulse of the people, and I want to explain why I believe this.Donald Trump understands how the average middle-class American person feels because he’sone of the very few billionaires that has made a habit in his career to talk to little people. I have read numerous stories of how Donald Trump would go to a construction site, say in New York or wherever he’s building a building, and he would walk to a construction site and he would talk tothe union steel workers, he would talk to the truck drivers bringing deliveries, and he would talk to them like a normal guy, like he was one of them, and they would tell him their concerns, and he would listen, and he put it in his mind. And so when he ran for president in 2016, I don’t believe there’s been a president, including Ronald Reagan, that understood the populism, what the average American thought what was going on better than Donald Trump. And that is why Donald Trump, even a week ago, supposedly, and I believe this news story to be true, has told his aides he doesn’t want to make the 2024 election about abortion. He wants to make it about a border that is wide open, allowing terrorists to come in, which can do a lot of harm. He wanted to make it about China, he wanted to make it about economy, and he wanted to make it about Biden corruption and the Democrat corruption. At the same time, he said he would not run away from the issue of abortion, that he’s against it, and he would like to limit it, but he understands, rightfully so, that abortion has nothing to do with national politics, and it does not. Abortion has nothing to do with your senator. Abortion has nothing to do with your House members.Abortion has nothing to do with who you elect as president. Abortion has to do with who you elect as a state representative or a state senator in your own particular state, because abortion is a state’s issue, as the Supreme Court, when it overruled Roe versus Wade, actually came to the right decision. They didn’t get there in the right way, but I’ll talk about that at another time, but they made the right decision that the federal government has no jurisdiction over abortion, because I do not believe abortion is merely a religious issue. In my opinion, it’s not a religious issue. Yes, if you’re a Christian, you’re against killing, and so, therefore, that makes it religious, but abortion is just a societal issue. Is it okay to murder? And the answer is, in every state in the United States so far, it is not okay to murder. So, if you look at abortion as a, is it okay to murder, or is it okay not to murder, then it’s easy to come to a conclusion. It’s not a religious issue. It’s an issue based on law, on the right to life, and the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.Yes, that is a national issue, but it’s left to the states to decide. For example, this is how in New York, for example, they don’t have capital punishment, but in Texas, for example, they can execute a murderer. Now, someone say, well, that’s not equal justice under the law.You mean you kill somebody, excuse me, still have my cold. If you kill somebody in New York, you don’t die, but if you kill somebody in Texas, you do die. How is that equal protection under the law? But that is because the states have control over criminal activity that’s not federal in nature. There is no constitutional provision that makes murder a crime. Think about that. There’s nowherein the constitution or in the bill of rights that outlaws murder. It has been left up to the states. It’s a state’s issue, and Donald Trump is astute enough to realize let’s keep abortion out of national politics and let it remain where it belongs in states. So you’re going to have, like it or not, you’re going to have states that allow abortion right up to the moment of birth, and that’s their right as a state, and you’re going to have states that may someday evenoutlaw all abortions, and that’s the way our framers of the constitution wanted it to be.I’m sorry if your Christian beliefs say you can’t tolerate that, then vote your conscience and leave the state that you’re living in that decides to have abortion. What our forefathers wanted you to do was vote not only with your hand on a ballot, but to vote with your feet. If your state does not agree with your morality, then you go to a state that does. That’s the American way. So getting back to today’s topic about the eight members of the House that are trying to get more abortion rights, remember, in the House right now the Republicans have a, I think it’s a four, someone can correct me, I’m sure somebody will, but I think they have about a four or five seat majority, which means eight lost votes means the Democrats win. That is why it was so dangerous to oust McCarthy and to have the possibility of a Democrat getting enough Republican votes to become the Speaker of the House, and we could have Nancy Pelosi back or somebody like that, that Jeffers guy come back and being the Speaker of the House, who would assign the committee members, and the Republicans would lose the House even though they had the majority.Representative McCarthy never had a majority he could control, and neither does Mike Johnson. I guarantee you in the next few weeks, you’re going to see Mike Johnson do a lot of things that McCarthy did because he’s going to be forced to, but he’s going to get a pass because the ultra-right idiots out there, and I call them ever-Trumpers, and I think they’re idiots. I wrote a story back in 2018 that ever-Trumpers are as dangerous and as stupid as never-Trumpers.I am a Trump supporter. I believe America’s hope in 2024 is Trump to be elected. The problem with ever-Trumpers is they do not read everything. They only read, they only comprehend what they want reality to be, but they don’t see reality. I always give this example. If I’m on an airplane and it’s going to crash because the engine stopped,I don’t want a Zig Ziglar-trained pilot telling me, I can do it, and he can’t, and I die.I’d rather have a pilot who doesn’t know exactly if he can save you, but has the talent to be able to do so and figure it out. I don’t need someone who doesn’t see reality affecting my life. I want a person who understands reality and makes decisions based upon reality.Ronald Reagan kicked off a lot of Republicans in his day, a lot of conservatives, because he went along with things he knew it wasn’t worth fighting. Good politicians, I’m sorry, but this is the way it’s supposed to be, negotiate, and some things they do not negotiate on, and some things they do. They pick a battle plan and they stick with it.So, you have these eight Republicans who want abortion rights. How the heck are you going toget a unified Republicans to get anything through this House with those eight Republicans? They’re just as bad as the eight Republicans under Matt Gaetz that threw out McCarthy. Think about this, people.I really want us to understand politics. Politics is not black and white. Morality is black and white, but politics, unfortunately, is not, and that is what we have today. So, you know, in the budget fight that’s coming up, expect many people to be surprised with whatMike Johnson ends up doing. We already saw a little bit of Mike Johnson’s leadership when itcame to his very first act as Speaker was send money to Israel, not to send money to the border, not to do anything to help the American public, but to help Israel, which has a big faction, and I’m not anti-Israel, by the way. I’m probably more pro-Jew because I understand who they are inbiblical prophecy, which most Christians do not, and I also understand who America is in biblicalprophecy that I don’t know how many Christians do know, but it is not our business to be supporting a nation that is not America first over the American people, and that is Mike Johnson’sfirst act as the Speaker. He does not have control of his caucus because it’s too fractured, and he is going to have to walk a line like McCarthy did, and I do not believe in the long run he will do as good of a job as McCarthy, and I am not a McCarthy fan. I did not like him from the beginning. I understand he is a semi-rhino, but Marjorie Taylor Greene, who is a very good pro-Trump, populist, conservative, backed McCarthy, was able to lead McCarthy in the right direction, and she was right about McCarthy was the best Speaker we could ever have hoped for.I’m afraid we’re going to find out with this Speaker, no matter what happens, he’s not going to be as effective as McCarthy was because I do not think he understands the complexity of negotiation in politics when you do not have a solid majority on your side, and that is what American politics are about. So I’d like anybody to go to the message board today. It’s going to be in one of the top 10, 15 stories of the day.The newer stories go to the top, except for the ones we pin that’s on the very top. It’s very easy. Anybody can leave a comment. You don’t have to register to leave a comment. If you register, your comment is put up right away, but if you don’t register, they have to be approved, and that’s just to protect pornography from being put up and all kinds of things and, you know, all kinds of hacking going on, but it’s a very informative site. I don’t believe there is any one website you can go to, like the Plain Truth, where you get the information that we give you, the information that you need to know. You need to know this information in order to understand what’s happening in your life and to plan for your life. You know, in yesterday’s Plain Truth main page, I had a story about silver versus gold. There are many people out there that understand, not enough, but understand how inflation destroys the dollar bill and how the hedge of inflation is precious metals like gold and silver, but there is something called a… I’m getting off topic here, but there’s a reason because I want you to look at this story as well today. There’s something called the silver gold ratio index, and it’s how many ounces of silver it takes to equal, dollar-wise, an ounce of gold, and that’s a very important topic because in the Roman times, just to let you show you what inflation has done, it took 12 ounces of silver to equal an ounce of gold. In modern times, it’s been around 35 to 40 ounces of silver equaled an ounce of gold. Right now, it takes 87 ounces of silver to equal one ounce of gold, which tells you, if you understand precious metals, that silver is the best buy for the dollar for inflation because silver is way, way undervalued, and it’s being undervalued, by the way, by the federal governments of the world. They do not want people to invest in silver and gold. They want you to invest in paper currency and eventually digital currency, which is really worthless. You know, a hundred dollar bill is worth about six cents, so I think that’s what it costs to make one. That’s all it’s worth, six cents. It ain’t worth a hundred dollars. The government says it’s worth a hundred dollars, but gold, silver, platinum, stuff like that, precious metals, are worth the value that you can hold in your hand, and right now, even though gold is a good deal at $2,000 an ounce because I believe it’s eventually going to hit five, silver is your best investment, and it’s a cheaper investment. For 25 bucks, you can buy an ounce of silver. It takes about $2,000 to buy an ounce of gold. So anyway, I want you to go to the message board, if you can, every day, see what the topics are.Go to the Plain Truth every day, and then also go to Your Health Today, which doesn’t have a lot of news stories, and so if you go once or twice a week, you’ll be caught up on your health issues, but the Plain Truth Today, and .com is the podcast, and the Plain Truth is the main page. You get everything from the Plain Truth, and I think you will get more knowledge there than you will in any other website or any TV show you will ever watch or any newspaper you will ever pick up. Until next time, this is Bob Barney saying thank you for listening, and I hope you tune in again.
