So, I have a question for you.
Who do you think won big last week?
Donald Trump, the Republican Party, or the Democrats?
Well, I guess we all know it wasn’t the Democrats.
Hi, this is Bob Barney with the Plain Truth Morning Show at 7.11 a.m., and I want to go over my take about the results after the weekend.
I was quite accurate. I will pat myself on the back and say I was accurate about Donald Trump winning about 312 to 315 electoral college votes. I knew it was going to be a pretty big landslide. I understood the economy and that people are suffering and just have had enough. Just like back in 1980, the people had had enough of Jimmy Carter, and that’s why they went big time to Ronald Reagan when he ended the last debate with a week to go before the election and said, are you better off today than you were four years ago? Is gas cheaper than it was four years ago? Is food cheaper than it was four years ago? Everybody knew the truth and that propelled Ronald Reagan to his very first landslide victory. Of course, 84 was the second biggest landslide victory in history.
What we had here in this election, I’m afraid, is going to be overplayed by many Republicans, especially many MAGA Republicans who think that the MAGA Republicans won big. In my opinion, the MAGA Republicans did not win big. Republicans in general did not win big. They should have won much more with such a landslide victory. Take, for example, the swing states, except for Pennsylvania, where McCormick edged out Casey for the Senate seat and barely won that seat. Every other swing state senator seat that was up went to the Democrat, and though it went to Trump for over five or six, seven points. So, people really were voting against Kamala Harris more than they were voting for Donald Trump.
That’s my opinion and if I am right, there is trouble coming for the Republican Party if they do not recognize that. I hope they do recognize that.
How can they change around what the people are thinking about Donald Trump and the Republican Party? Well, they’re going to have to do something. They’re going to have to really get together and stop the infighting.
I have a column, and I have a show on the Republican diet eating each other. The Republicans are going to have to start cooperating. Already this week, this Wednesday, Mitch McConnell is trying to screw the MAGA Republicans and Donald Trump by holding the Senate majority leader’s vote this Wednesday before everyone really gets to figure out what’s going on. He’s trying to do this to make sure that Senator Scott from Florida cannot replace him as the majority leader now of the Senate. He wants to put Cronan in, in my opinion, from Texas, who’s an absolute disaster if he were to get the job.
If he were to get the job, he will be against everything Trump’s trying to do. And in 2022, the Democrats will come back strong. The Democratic Party, like Satan the devil is not down and out yet. They always seem to come back stronger than ever. So do not count them out. What we saw, in my opinion, last Tuesday during the election was basically the American people saying they’ve had enough of women being attacked by men in their sports. They’ve had enough of illegal aliens and all the crime they have brought. They have had enough of all of the high inflation, the price of gas, the price of food, the price of rent. They’ve had enough of watching illegal aliens get their jobs.
They hear about low unemployment, but they themselves are working two or three jobs because they can’t make ends meet. They were sick and tired of listening to that absolute bitch. Yes, that’s what I’m going to call her, Kamala Harris. Every time she talked, I’d rather hear fingernails on a chalkboard than to listen to her talk and to giggle. Obviously so would some 80 million other Americans…they agree with me. She was a turnoff. Joe Biden probably would have done better than her and he is a senile old man.
The Democrats, although I believe we’re behind this loss, they wanted Kamala Harris to lose because I think that the power brokers behind the Democrat Party realized they’ve gone too far to the left and they need to go back to the middle like they tried to do when they had Bill Clinton. I don’t think he really was in the middle, but he acted like he was. He worked with Newt Gingrich after the Republicans took the House under Newt’s Contract with an America plan and the Democrat leadership know that Bernie Sanders is a loser. AOC is a loser. The squad is a loser…and that definitely Kamala Harris was a loser. Even still, they purposely allowed her to get the nomination.
In my humble opinion, I heard all these other reports going on that they wanted an open convention and all this. I think they wanted to nail the coffin of these ultra, ultra-liberal, middle-class hating Democrat leaders in politics that just are turning off all of their base. They’ve lost everything except for the black vote. They still have the black vote because most of the black people in America probably are still on the government dole and they’re paid to vote the way they do. Did you know that a lot of government jobs exist just to give black females a job? Then, once they work for the government and they’re in a government union, they’re going to always vote Democrat.
My advice to the Republicans is this: don’t think that you won this election and don’t gloat that you won this election. You won this election because the American people were sick and tired of Joe Biden and the Democrat leadership and if you want to be like Ronald Reagan who won in 1980 for the same reasons, Ronald Reagan knew that he did not win because he was so darn popular. He knew he won because Jimmy Carter was hated, and the Democratic Party went down with him in a defeat. Ronald Reagan therefore took the bull by the horns and he ran and ramrodded his policy through the next four years.
When he came back up in the 84, he won the second largest election in the history of America because he did what he promised to do and the American public by then had trusted him. Donald Trump and the Republican Party needs to do the same. So that’s my seven minute take this morning.
I hope everybody takes it in kind and listens to and I hope the Republican Party learns that they’re not what they think they are. They are going to have to produce results. So, until tomorrow morning, this is Bob Barney saying goodbye and thank you.
