Hi, it is 7:11, this is Bob Barney with The Plain Truth today, and I welcome you to another show that we’re going to do.

This is the second day of the Feast of Tabernacles, and of course, if you listened yesterday, you find out that the Feast of Tabernacles is the great Thanksgiving-type celebration that you find in the Bible that the pilgrims actually used to make their idea of Thanksgiving. They took it from the Bible, from the Feast of the Lord, and the happiest time of the year for the Israelites was when they celebrated the Feast of Tabernacles. This was where they lived in tents, in man-made shelters made out of mainly tree branches and palm leaves for seven days to commemorate both the harvest and also the idea they knew they were living in temporary bodies.

This is just like they were symbolically living in temporary shelters, and it’s to remind them of their mortality and the hope of an immortality. This really goes forward to the time of Christ, which we are today, if we are Christians, looking towards the millennium, when the Feast of Tabernacles is really being fulfilled during the time of the millennium. So when the millennium comes, it’s really the actual fulfillment of this holiday called the Feast of Tabernacles.

Now, today’s not a high day. People can work, but if God had His way with you, He would have you plan your vacations around His Feast times, and He would love you to take the entire week of the Feast of Tabernacles off. To go somewhere, live in a temporary dwelling, a hotel is okay, and have a very good vacation time, but thank Him every day and remember Him and read something in the Bible every day. If it’s a church that you’re a member of that follows the Feast of Tabernacles, many churches have festival sites they go to, and they have a very good time. We’re not a church. We have no such things. We’re not against them or for them. Families can do it all by themselves. My family basically did it all by ourselves for some 40 years now or more, so there’s nothing wrong with that as well.

So, today is the second day of the Feast of Tabernacles, and every day I’ll give you a little bit of update about the Feast as well as everything else, but what I wanted to talk about today is these floods that are taking place in North Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee, and some other places, and the absolute death and destruction that this hurricane has brought.

I will admit reluctantly so that when they were first talking about this hurricane in the Gulf, I thought it was maybe being overhyped, and you have the problem nowadays because you have The Weather channel, and now Fox News has a weather channel, and when you have a 24-hour weather channel, you have to have 24-hour weather news, and a lot of times there is no news for the weather. In this case you have to make it exciting. It’s like reality TV. You make things up as you go to make the TV show much more exciting that way, and I’m afraid that is what a lot of the weather reports have been lately. The result could be what we’re seeing now is that people do think it’s a hoax. They do think it’s overplayed, and its hype, and they really don’t adequately prepare for the big one, and we know from history that there is always a big one.

It has nothing to do with global warming. It has to do with the nature of things and of these storms. There will be bad years that big storms are going to hit everywhere, but not the same place the second time or third time in a row. So, you might have a place. You may live in a Gulf community in the Gulf of Mexico. You may be in Alabama, or you may be in Florida, Panhandle, and you may have been there 35 years and never really experienced a bad hurricane, and all of a sudden one comes through your area, and it’s going to be the worst one in 35 years, or it’s going to be the worst one probably in 150 years. The media often plays up what I would say are not major storms to make them look like they’re major storms and sometimes you look at some of these hurricanes and they call them a cat two or a cat three, and you’re looking at the surrounding towns, and they’re giving you when the hurricane’s hitting what the high winds of that town are or will be, and you see like 40 miles away from the eye is you know that this town X has maximum winds of 65 miles an hour. Well, that’s not even a tropical. That is just a tropical storm. It’s not even a hurricane, and so I did kind of think that this was the case.

Now, this was not the wind event. I don’t know about a category four storm because what I see on the Gulf Coast of Florida is mainly surge water damage and not wind damage. I think most of the things that happen to Cedar Key and places like that were done by a very high-water surge and there’s a reason why that corner of the Panhandle and the mainland of Florida or the main shoot down of Florida is so treacherous with a storm surge. Just think of a bathtub, you know, a corner of a bathtub, and if you push a big wave, the water has nowhere to go, so if the bathtub is full and you push water in that direction really hard with a paddle, well, it’s going to flow over that side, and it’s going to flow over onto the ground because there’s nothing there to hold it in. The land in the Panhandle area is not very far above sea level, and so if you have a 12- or 15-foot water surge from the Gulf, which is very shallow, that’s another thing you don’t have these kinds of surges often unless it’s a major Cat 5 storm in the Atlantic side. You have them in the Gulf side because, you know, it’s like where we go around St. Pete Beach. You can walk half a mile out and you’re not even up to your neck yet because the water of the Gulf is very shallow compared to the water in the Atlantic where you walk 15 feet out into the water and you’re over your head, and that protects from storm surge. When you have very little beach depth, then water with a surge has nowhere to go but onto the land and the land itself is not very far above sea level, so you have all this death and destruction and damage. The most damage that I saw was not really from wind as much as it was from water, and that’s especially the case when the storm moved down into Georgia and into North Carolina and into Tennessee and Ohio Valley because these mountains have very small streams. When they have a lot of rain, and I’ve read reports where some of the rain may have been two to three feet worth of rain in a day and a half’s time, and all of these mountains collect into little streams that go into bigger streams that go into these little rivers and they overflow, and they become treacherous. As a result they take out homes, they take out bridges, they take out cars, boats, you name it. I saw 40-foot container ship containers floating down the river and floating into people’s yards and lawns and stuff like that. That’s the power of water. The two most powerful natural things on the face of the earth are wind and water.

Think about that. Wind and water, both, by the way, are symbols in the Bible of the Holy Spirit.

The most powerful thing on the face of this earth is the Holy Spirit, especially when it’s being used by God Almighty themselves, so just be aware of that. The symbolism is just too much.

The question I have today, which is one that I brought up in other shows and it’s important to talk about again is just exactly where is God when these tragedies happen, and why do these tragedies happen. Also why do they happen to good people as well as to bad people?

Well, the plain truth is when you read the Bible, you have many biblical writers talking to God, which God included in the Bible for a reason, where they ask the same questions. Why do you allow the bad people to get away with all these murders and rapes and crimes and stealing from the widows, and you don’t seem to punish them, but the good get hurricanes and wind storms and disease and pestilence and early death, and yes, even in the Bible, you have many biblical writers, prophets, heroes of the Bible that we all know their names, complain to God, why does God allow this to happen? Well, it’s a complicated story, and I’ll tell you that right now, and what I’m going to will appease some people and make other people a little mad, but for the most part, and this is again the plain truth, when Adam and Eve hid from God, God then decided to hide from us. This is not God’s world, number one. This world, if you believe the Bible, this world belongs to the God of this world, and the God of this world is Satan the devil, and God made him the God of this world before Adam and Eve were created.

See, there was a world before this world, and I know a lot of creationists don’t want to admit that. They don’t want to admit that because of their idea that sin only came from the fall of Adam and Eve, and from sin there is the death penalty. Well, the devil sinned before Adam and Eve did when he rebelled against God and cursed God’s laws and God’s ways, so I do not hold to the creationist view that this earth is 6,000 years old. I believe that this earth could easily be 4 billion, 5 billion, 10 billion years old. It makes no difference, because God has been here forever. God is immortal. God has no beginning and no end. I know we can’t comprehend that idea. I can’t, and if you can, send me a note and tell me how you can comprehend it, because it seems impossible to me that there’s never been a beginning, but then, of course, you go to what I asked or I postured to my biology professor in college when he was ridiculing me for starting to believe in a God when he said, well, where has your God been? Where did he come from? And I said to him, well, Mr. Avatably, if you’ll believe the Bible, God’s always been here, and he responded to me, well, doesn’t that sound like a fairy tale to you? I said, it does, but I have a question for you. You say everything came from the hydrogen atom. Where did the hydrogen atom come from? And he says, well, the hydrogen atom has always been in existence. There is no beginning to the hydrogen atom. It’s always been here, and I said, so science is trying to make me believe that there could be a hydrogen atom here forever, but it’s ridiculous to think that God’s been here forever, and he got mad at me. I mean, he didn’t fail me.

I still had good course grades, but we were not the friends we were before I started asking him the questions and did not like the answers, but I will say that God has turned this world over before Adam and Eve to Satan, the devil, who was Lucifer, the God of light at the time. Then Lucifer rebelled against God, and when he rebelled against God, he became Satan, and he went from the angel of light, this beautiful angelic being, to this dark, terrible, evil being that we know today as Satan, the devil, and a third of the angels that he convinced to go with him became the demons that we know today, and they were put in charge of the earth. Now, Adam and Eve were put here in the image of God to become God someday, but to qualify to replace the devil as the king of the earth. , there was a world in my belief, and I think you can prove this biblically as well, and I think we have an article on the plain truth, and you can go look at it about how old the earth is, that there was a world before this world. That’s the world, I think you’re going to find the dinosaurs and a lot of the things that the archaeology, or I should say the geology, kind of shows us, and when we read the first chapter of Genesis, the translation in the King James is wrong. It should be translated, in the beginning, the earth became formless and void. Became, not was, because

God does not create in confusion.

You can read that in the Bible.

You put in, does God create in confusion in any search engine, and you’re going to come up with the scripture. I don’t have to read it to you. I don’t know it off the top of my head, to tell you the truth, but I’m telling you right now, it’s going to say God does not create anything in confusion. So, how is the earth formless and void and in confusion in the beginning? Because there is actually another part of the Bible that is actually in the beginning that’s prior to that in the beginning. In Genesis, it’s in the beginning of the second age of the earth. In John 1, the gospel of John, there we see again the word, in the beginning, and there you see it’s the true beginning. In the beginning was the word, and the word was with God, and the word was God, and the word was Jesus Christ. I’m paraphrasing. You can go read it for yourself. That is the true beginning of the Bible, John 1. That’s why the plain truths, red letter edition of the Bible, where Christ’s words are in red, including what he said in the Old Testament, because the God of the Old Testament was none other than Jesus Christ.Well, our Bible starts with the first chapter of John before we go to the first chapter of Genesis. So, the reader understands there is a beginning before the beginning of Genesis. Genesis, in the beginning, is in the beginning of the earth age of man, the man age, which started about 6,000 years ago with the creation of Adam and Eve, and then, you know, the story of Adam and Eve and eating the fruit, the forbidden fruit in the garden, and that brought sin and death into the world.

When this happened, unfortunately for us, Adam was supposed to qualify to replace Satan as the king of this world, the ruler of this world under God, but Adam sinned and did not qualify. And so, therefore, to this very day, the king of this world, the God of this world, according to the Bible, if you believe in the Bible, according to the Bible you’re reading, says the God of this world is none other than Satan, the devil, and Adam was supposed to qualify to replace him but did not. The second Adam, Jesus Christ, came and was tempted by Satan for 40 days and 40 nights and did not sin, did not ever sin in his entire human existence, and therefore qualified to replace Satan as the God of this world, and Christ became the God of this world when he defeated the devil by not falling into temptation. However, that kingship does not start until Christ returns to this earth as King of Kings, Lord of Lords, and God of Gods, when he becomes now the ruler of the world, or what the people who know Christian theology is called, the Millennium, the thousand-year reign of Christ. That is when he deposes the devil, he binds him up and throws him into the bottomless pit for a thousand years, and is now responsible for the whole world, and once he becomes the King of the world and the God of this world and replaces the devil, then there is no more crying, there is no more pain, there is no more suffering, there is no more disasters and hurricanes and tornadoes and children being poisoned by mistake or run over by their parents in their car. All these tragedies during the Millennium are gone because the God of this world then becomes Jesus Christ, but right now the God of this world is Satan the devil, and you got to realize why do these tragedies happen? Because this is not God’s world. Then you have to ask yourself, then if I’m a Christian and I believe in Jesus Christ and I pray to Jesus Christ all the time for my deliverance and safety, why are Christians, or are you saying Christians are not the ones dying during this hurricane? Was only the evil people the ones that suffered? Well, if you believe the Bible, the Bible says no, real good people close to God also suffer and die and are martyred, and this is a result from them being forced by our world today to live in a world that is Satan’s world, and so when you are living in the ghetto, for example, and you’re an innocent person, that does not make you immune to crime, and the crime of the devil, there is no immunity. Now you can pray to God and you can ask God every day for divine protection, and in many cases, God may give certain people, maybe most people, the protection they ask for, but this should not be a point of theology here, because there is nowhere in the Bible that you’re guaranteed anything but martyrdom if you become a Christian. Christ said that he was suffering, he would die, and you would have the same fate as him if you followed him closely, and that is what’s happening to Christians around the world.

There is no protectionism, and anybody teaching you or selling you protectionism as their part of the faith of Christianity are lying to you. Bad things happen to good people, but the good news is that God understands that bad things happen to good people, and God will resurrect these people that do die so terribly back to life again, if they were Christians, especially in the millennium, right as the millennium begins, and these people will have their new bodies, which are spiritual, they can never die again, they can never feel pain, they never can have the horror and terror that they went through, but I do not want you to come away from anything to know that you are offered protection from God because you are a Christian. It can be said the exact opposite is the truth, that once you become a Christian, you become a target, like Donald Trump is a target now that he became a candidate. You think people would be shooting at him if he was not a candidate for the presidency? If he decided not to run this time around, do you think anybody would be caring about Donald Trump anymore? He would probably be back on Saturday Night Live and probably be the guest of every liberal show there was and be a hero again, the minute he did not or did not want to run for the presidency, but because he is and because of what he stands for and because he wants to free the American middle class of its domineering government, he is the enemy of the and the state are liberals today and rhino Republicans and that is the only reason. So the same thing with Christians. If you are a Christian, you have a big target on your back because the God of this world hates you and the people of this world are under the God of this world and they hate you as well and that is the reason there is tragedy, but your prayers are effective in several ways. One can be it gets you out of your problems, it does protect you after the fact or get you out of your problems and the other is if you give the ultimate sacrifice, you are promised, you are guaranteed a future spiritual life where there is no pain, no suffering and no death and that is the good news that is hard to swallow for people who want to buy protectionism with their faith. There is no protectionism, but that being said, I do want to say one thing and then I’m going to move on to the last topic with today’s noontime Plain Truth Today show. The last thing I want to say is because this is the devil’s world and because the United States of America is God’s kingdom, it’s the part of the lost tribes of Israel, when we move away from God, God allows things to happen and then when tragedy happens, it also happens to good and bad alike and so America has moved away from God for the last 50-60 years and in the last four years especially, God is not welcoming the United States of America under the Democrat Joe Biden and it will not be under Kamala Harris.It’s that simple and if we as a nation continue to turn our back on God, don’t be surprised when God turns his back on us and doesn’t listen and doesn’t save us when hurricanes come. He didn’t make the hurricane. The hurricanes are natural.The devil probably didn’t make the hurricane either. They’re natural. It’s a part of life, but God can save or not save based on how we are as a nation and just think about that because we’re not doing God very good as a nation right now.

We’re standing for death; we’re standing for lawlessness and we’re standing for paganism and that’s what’s going on in this country today and we may be reaping the rewards of that. Today at noontime and I hope you come back at 12.01 p.m. noontime today to watch a video. It’s another Richard Nixon seven-minute interview and they discuss why we lost Vietnam and it talks about Henry Kissinger’s negotiated peace and how that peace that was negotiated by Nixon and Kissinger failed to secure South Vietnamese from the North and eventually two years after that peace treaty was signed, two years later, the South Vietnam fell to the North and many innocent people, tens of thousands, hundreds of thousands of the Vietnamese who supported the Americans were butchered, slaughtered, sent to internment camps, re-education camps, much like what we saw happen under Joe Biden in Afghanistan when we pulled out of Afghanistan with no warning, leaving our citizens behind, leaving Afghanis that supported us behind and even leaving billions of dollars’ worth of high-tech war equipment behind. Just a terrible situation, probably the most disgraceful thing that happened in American foreign policy in at least the last 150 years, if not forever, and Nixon explains that the peace treaty that was signed with the North was a good one, that Henry Kissinger did a good job, it was very tough. He has some really good things to talk about dealing with communists.

By the way, because we have communists in our government right now. Kamala Harris is a communist. Tim Walz is a communist. They believe in communist principles, and they also believe in what the Chinese do in negotiations, and so the North Vietnamese were just an extension of communism, that they just wear you down with their lies and that’s what we’re experiencing today in this country. The Democratic Party are a bunch of communists wearing down the Republicans and the American middle class with their lies, and that is their game plan and they’re never going to change it. But he gets on to say something that I think is very important, because right now during this election we’re saying that the Democratic Party today is so far over to the communists, they’re not like the Democrats of your father, but I’m going to tell you in many ways they are the same as the Democrats of your father, because most Democrats, even back in the 1970s, most Democrats were communists or they were quasi-communists, and that’s the plain truth. And we see this with this peace treaty that Henry Kissinger and Nixon got the North to sign by bombing the living crap out of them during their Christmas time bombings, where more tonnage of bombs were dropped on North Vietnam than was dropped on Germany in all of World War II. And that’s what brought them to the peace treaty and that’s what made them settle on a peace accord with the United States and South Vietnam. Now what it required was that South Vietnam be protected by America, no American troops would be there, but we would arm them to the exact same level that the Russians were arming the North with. So that was done for the first two years after that treaty, and for the first two years after that treaty, Richard Nixon makes it clear that the South, without American troops, without any American help other than military aid, was able to fend off the North and they lost no provincial or what we would call state capitals to the North. The North made no inroads against South Vietnam until the Democrats, which controlled both the House and the Senate at that time, cut off all aid, military aid, to South Vietnam.

The same Democrats today who want to send nothing but all military aid to Ukraine and maybe start World War III made sure that the Nixon peace accord would fail so the Republicans would get the blame. This is a party, even in 1975, that cared more about the future of the Democratic Party than they did about American people, American lives that were wasted in Vietnam and American safety around the world in fighting communism, because they themselves, even then, were communists and they had no problems with watching Jane Fonda, for example, had had no problem watching North Vietnam take over the South and butcher tens of thousands, tens of thousands of innocent Vietnamese children, women, and men butchered because they supported the United States during that war. And the left, the Hollywood left, had no problems with it whatsoever .Just like what you saw in Afghanistan, when we left the people, you know, grabbing onto the airplane and falling to their deaths from some 3,000 to 5,000 feet, these horrible videos that you watch, no one seems to care except maybe us Christian people who see the tragedy that happened. Well, the same thing happened in 1975 with the fall of Saigon. Watch the videos, go to YouTube and watch it. Maybe we’ll put one up. Watch the videos of the Vietnamese in just complete panic trying to escape the terror of the North Vietnamese taking over the South. And that is what happened when Congress, when a democratically run Congress, did not support the peace treaty that Richard Nixon signed with the North Vietnamese and the South Vietnamese, which, as he points out, today, South Vietnam would still be like, you can say, Taiwan or South Korea. South Vietnam would still be a free state and a blessed state versus the North. South Vietnam would have been a mecca, an economic mecca, to the world if that peace treaty was enforced by the United States Congress. But the United States Congress, under the Democrat rule in 1975, wanted to ensure total defeat of Vietnam, and they succeeded. So I have a problem with the Democrats going back at least 50 years.

That’s the plain truth for today. And tomorrow, we’ll be back.
