Hi, it’s Bob Barney, Friday Wrap-Up Day again, brought to you by theplaintruth.com. This is the Plain Truth today, and we’re going to do a Friday Wrap-Up of the big stories of the week, and of course we’re going to talk about the war going on with Iran, the Middle East problem in general. We’re going to talk about the LaGuardia crash a little bit. We’re also going to talk about other stories, such as the corruption and people making money off of this war, and maybe insiders in the White House, and maybe even close members of the Trump family.I’m also going to have a brief update on what I think was Trump’s miscalculation and why, and now it looks like he’s trying to blame everybody but himself, including his Secretary of War, which is really the Secretary of Defense, because there’s no such thing as the War Department. A president can’t do that. Congress changed it to the Department of Defense, and that’s the right word for it, by the way. They had a good reason to do it. We’re also going to talk about what Russia is doing with the war and with themselves, and how Putin is a big-time winner in what’s going on here all the way around. But I’m going to start off today talking about an old subject about Greenland.Believe it or not, Denmark is sending military reinforcements to Greenland. Maybe this is a reason why Europe is supporting Donald Trump in this war, because of what he has done to our allies in Europe. Trump says anything less—he’s still saying this, by the way. Here he is up to his neck in excrement, and he’s still saying that anything less than U.S. total control of Greenland is unacceptable to America. He would buy it, and he would pay $700 billion to buy the island. That’s your money, by the way. It’s not his money. It’s your money that he’s offering $700 billion. The locals fear what an American takeover would be.The whole world does not want to be part of America, and the whole world should not be part of America. Canada is not part of America, and it would be a mistake to make Canada the 51st state. First of all, it would be about 10 states, at least, and then we’d have 20 new Democratic senators. The entire agenda that the so-called mega Make America Great forces would have would be gone, because then you would have all the House of Representatives. You would have, who knows, another 20, 30 House members, all going to be Democrats, for the most part, if Canada was a part of us. And if Mexico’s next, and I’m not sure that he doesn’t think Mexico also shouldn’t be a part of America. You got more Democrats. I always said that Donald Trump is the best thing that’s happened to the Democratic Party in Trump 2.0, and he’s also the best thing that’s happened to many of our enemies around the world. And what’s going on in Iran, and just the arrogance of Trump, and God hates arrogance, and I’ve said this over and over again, that’s what brought King Nebuchadnezzar down for seven years, living like an animal, eating grass, according to your Bible, and in the same Bible I have. And the truth is, it’s turning people away from us. I’m going to play a little audio from General Stanley McChrystal, who was in charge of the Iraq-Afghanistan War for a while, and what he has to say, and I think we should listen to it. He is a person that used to be a favorite amongst people, a Democrat and Republican, and listen to what he says, and listen to it with honest ears, because he has some good points. The mere saying of America first may make it sound good. Of course it’s America first. When I dealt with Pakistan, it was Pakistan first. That’s their job. But the reality is, when you make America first a bumper sticker, and you pump it overseas, what you’re telling them is America only. And that’s not, we need to understand, people around the world, we don’t get up in the morning and know what’s happening in Bombay. We don’t know what’s happening in countries in Latin America. They know what’s happening in the United States. And that’s not a bad thing, but that’s something we need to understand. How we present ourselves matters a lot, and every American, not just at the senior levels, every American. And if we want to be members of the world community, we need to think that way. I’m going to ask you one more annoying question about leadership, which is, if when you were an active duty general and you had somebody in your command who publicly made demeaning comments about colleagues, subordinates, partners, what would be the repercussions of that? What we look for in leaders is a complete picture, not a single thing.Leaders need to be smart. They need to be inspirational. They need to be consistent. They need to be honest. Nobody’s all of those things in equal or perfect measures. Everybody’s flawed, and you try to put people together. But there’s a norm into which you can look at a leader and you can say, you’re not perfect, but I trust you. You’re not perfect, but I think you’re doing your best. You’re not perfect, but you respect people.I think that’s what we look for in leaders. That’s what I looked for in leaders. And that’s what I hope for when I look for leaders now.And in your opinion, is the president of the United States a good leader? I don’t think his hair would have passed my command standards. No, it’s a judgment we all got to make. And the reality is each of us is going to look at the president of the United States through our own lens. But what I’d say is we need to do that personally. Don’t let somebody do it for you. Don’t watch TV and have somebody say good, bad, up, down. We’re all smart people. Force ourselves to make a judgment. And sometimes force yourselves to make a judgment standing in what you think it’s like to be in his shoes.I’ve never been president, but I spent some time in the Oval Office. And every time I was in the Oval Office, I felt a little insecure and whatnot. And every time I got out of the Oval Office, I said, wow, you know, that was really cool to be in there, but I’m really glad I’m not in there too much. And so we got to be empathetic for the person that is sitting or standing in that office and make our own judgments. That’s a very adult in the room type conversation that he had. And he also went on to say, and I didn’t play this part because I couldn’t find it again.I found it last week, but he also said he has a problem with Pete Hegseth saying that soldiers are warriors and we need to have a warrior class. And he went on to say, and I agree with this wholeheartedly, that soldiers are professional protectors of this nation and of this constitution. And that the idea that they’re just warriors really makes you think of Roman centurions who were monsters, who were rapists, who abused people. The warrior class, the samurai class of Japan, or the warrior class of Germany is what brought down those governments, what brought them total destruction, because warriors are not necessarily the people you want around you. We want a military of people who have morality and who understand rules and also who understand how to conduct themselves as gentlemen. And that is a very good comment.I’m going to go on now to H.R. McMaster, who worked for Donald Trump, and he breaks down, and I want you to hear this too, because I think it’s very important, this war and things may be going wrong. And CBS News contributor and retired U.S. Army Lieutenant General H.R. McMaster. He also served as a national security advisor in the first Trump administration.General, always good to see you, my friend. Let’s talk about this latest, which is that Israel claims to have killed Iran’s naval commander. That is the man responsible for blocking the Strait of Hormuz. What could that potentially mean for reopening that waterway? Is that something that will allow that waterway to reopen, or do they just have somebody waiting in the ranks to take control? Hey, Vlad, it’s great to be with you. It’s an element of striking the command and control, of their efforts to shut down the Strait and to shut down traffic in the Gulf, really not even to shut it down, to meter it. So they’re letting Chinese vessels go, for example, other vessels go, Indian vessels go.But I think what you’re going to see is a shift in the focus of the campaign to reopening the Strait. It had always been the plan, Vlad, to attack first the most important targets, which were the missiles, the missile launchers, the drones. And you’ve seen that huge drop-off in the number of missiles that they can fire each day.I think it was like 10 yesterday. And then to also go after the sources of strength for the regime, their ability to repress the people, the leadership targets, the Basij and the IRGC. These are the people who committed the mass murders in January of 30,000 Iranians in a two-day period. And then their defense infrastructure, their factories, the supply chains for all their defense capabilities, the Navy, which is on the bottom of the Persian Gulf. Now it’s going to go to open the Straits, and you’re going to see combinations of aircraft, fixed-wing aircraft, Apache helicopters, the A-10 type aircraft, and the beginning of escorts at some point after striking those targets. So let’s talk about one of those sources of strength, specifically Karg Island.I think everyone started to hear about this in the past couple of weeks, crown jewel when it comes to energy infrastructure for Iran. But Iran’s foreign minister says that they’re not going to negotiate. Do you think that the U.S. would go forward and try to take Karg Island? I think it’s possible.I think it would be Karg Island plus other elements of oil infrastructure, because there’s a valve that turns off the pipeline to Karg Island. So I think there could be an effort to control that oil and gas infrastructure, and to essentially gain control of maybe even the revenue associated with it, to drive the financing of the regime, to hold some of those funds and maybe a lockbox, if you will, for reconstruction after the regime is gone. But also you could see land forces used to take other islands that are critical to navigating the strait, or the high ground on the Iranian side of the strait or of the Gulf, critical terrain that the Iranians might use to fire cruise missiles, for example, which is the greatest threat to shipping. So there are a whole bunch of uses for land forces. I think what is important to recognize here is that wherever that land force goes, there will be a kind of a protective bubble around it from an air defense perspective. We’ve seen the Iranian proxies, for example, in the last 48 hours, use these first person view drones, FPV drones that are wire guided. These are the drones that are most prevalent in Ukraine. They’re probably getting them from Russia, for example. So there’ll be a real emphasis on- And I’m going to break that off here.I think he’s 100% on target. All these Marines being mustered together out there, they’re going to try to take Karagaylan. Trump is trying to delay time to get them there.I think he has no intentions to have a peace treaty right now. I think he would like to, and he wants to out, and I’m going to play that in a minute. But when he said about the Russian supplying, and the other story we put up, and I think it’s just important to say right now, the real winner of this war is not the United States, certainly not Israel right now, because Israel is running out of defensive missiles.People are not reporting that here, but it’s the truth. That’s why so many missiles, even though there’s a lot less of them coming towards Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, but a lot of them are hitting now that weren’t hitting before, because Israel is running out of defense missiles, and it could get much worse, and they may still have a lot in reserve that they’re waiting for an all-out military attack before they unleash even more missiles. But the real winner, like I said, is Vladimir Putin. We don’t talk about Ukraine anymore. He’s making $760 million extra a day when Trump lift the band on Russia with the oil at $100 a barrel. He is selling oil all over the place, and he’s lining his pocket.Really, he’s a mobster. I liken him to a Chicago mobster or New York mobster with nuclear weapons, which makes him a little tougher than the average mobster. But he’s making a lot of money. He’s sending Russia—I’m sorry, Russia is sending Iran drones, and they are an enemy. They are—China is not our enemy. We try to make them always the enemy because they’re beating us at our own game worldwide in manufacturing, because they don’t have an EPA trying to shut them down. They don’t have stupid democratic policies over the last 40 years that actually made America not productive when it comes to manufacturing. Manufacturing jobs, by the way, for the last year have lost jobs every single month of the president’s term in office this time, and that wasn’t the case in Trump 1.0. Every month, we lose more manufacturing jobs. These terrorists were supposed to protect manufacturing jobs, but in reality, they have decimated manufacturing jobs. But I want to get to this other point, and this is a former CIA Mike Polymouros, or something. I can’t pronounce his last name. I am very sorry. It’s P-O-L-Y-M-E-R-O P-O-U-L-O-S. But he was an expert in Iran and the Middle East. He worked for the CIA, and he is understanding that we are probably planning on sending boots in the ground at least to Kerrig Island and offshore to turn off, to keep that valve, as H.R. McMaster said, flowing. But boots on the ground means something, and this is very important for Americans to understand. Rah-rah America sometimes can lead to disaster, and that’s what’s going on here. We saw this in the second Iraq war and the Afghanistan war, and we saw it in Vietnam, and I think we’re seeing it again.Listen to this. Trump has a whole bunch of bad options in front of him. If he goes forward on the ground operation, it can get very messy. But if he actually calls it a day and walks away from this all, you have an angry Iran with a much more radical regime. The nuclear program, the nuclear file has not been dealt with. And if you want to have just some kind of analogy, you punch a bear in the groin, the bear is going to be angry, and it’s going to seek retribution.President Trump has told his aides in the White House he wants to see a quick end to the Middle East war within a very few weeks, going by his press secretary, reminding us all that it was planned to be a four to six week operation, and 25 days in, it was ahead of schedule. So, on that reckoning, just a rough fortnight or so from victory. Now, much of the world and the economy, aside from Russia and those powers siding with Iran, well, they’ll hope and pray that is true. And lastly, Trump himself double talks about why he got into this war, and now he is trying to find a blame game. And listen to Trump’s own words here, and you tell me what you think. The situation was very quickly approaching. The point of no return in the United States found it intolerable, in my opinion, based on what Steve and Jared and Pete and others were telling me, Marco was so involved, that I thought that they were going to attack us. I thought they were going to attack us. Do you understand where he’s going here? He’s laying the groundwork to say it was not him.He had nothing to do with it. And that’s what’s going on here, because the truth of the matter is, we are in trouble in this war, and we’re going to have to put boots on the ground. But unlike when World War II, for example, and the last time we really did a good job putting boots on the ground, we had a public behind it.We do not have the American people behind going to put boots on the ground, and we surely don’t have an ally going to help us. And that is a prescription for disaster. And that’s what I’m going to say about the war. We’re going to go on to other things now. I do want to talk about the air crash that happened in LaGuardia Airport. When you watch the video, we put it up on the Plain Truth, the message board especially. When you watch that crash and what causes it, I don’t know. But there are some new details, and I’m going to play the new details of what’s happening here right now. Jazz 646 had been cleared to land about two minutes and 17 seconds prior to that collision, according to the NTSB day one report. They’re cleared to land. They touched down six seconds prior to slamming into the truck. At four seconds, that’s two seconds after touchdown, the captain takes control of the aircraft from the first officer.I’m presuming this, but I’m presuming he slammed on the brakes. The crew, as you watch this video, I’m going to show it to you again. The crew is incredibly heroic in my opinion. Why is that? They take a head-on collision with that truck. It would have been natural to push one of the rudder pedals real hard or hit the brake harder on one side than the other and to try to veer away from the truck. Had they done that, I believe many people would have died in this accident. Why? Because they would have hit the truck broadside. That means the wings would have collided with the truck. Either wing, left or right wing, still has a lot of gas, a lot of fuel remaining in that tank.Had those fuel tanks ruptured, you would have had an explosion and a fire. I think a lot more people would have died as a result. That’s a very sad story. We’re going to follow that along on the plane truth, mainly on the message board. We have a whole section of airplane crashes and things like that. It does appear that the pilots sacrificed themselves. They did not try to veer away, understanding that if they did, there would have been a fire. There was no fire and many people on that plane would die. The one thing we ought to remember for the most part, I’m sure there’s cowards everywhere, but for the most part in many of these crashes, you see very heroic pilots willing to sacrifice themselves knowing they’re the first to go anyway in a crash and try to protect their passengers, which they take very seriously.I pray for the families of those pilots. I hope we get to the bottom of this, but I think a lot of this is not the Trump administration’s fault. It’s just in general, we are not doing anything to help our infrastructure. We’re spending money overseas. We’re fighting wars. We’re doing all kinds of things. We’re putting tariffs, but our road system is a mess. Our railroad system is a mess. The safety of our nuclear power plants is in question and our air traffic control, the TSA situation, a lot of that’s the Democrats’ fault, by the way, not the Republicans. All of this is becoming a motion picture of horror of what the future of our people are in this country. I just hope that somebody starts acting like they know what they’re doing. I promised I was going to talk about the corruption surrounding this war. It’s still not clear who was behind Monday’s perfectly timed bets on stocks and oil that came just minutes before President Trump signaled a pause on the Iran attacks. Maybe that was just a scam, but that resulted in windfall profits between $40 and $50 million on inside White House people betting. There is a report, we played it on a show, I believe Wednesday, that Barron Trump made the majority of that money, 20, 22-year-old Barron Trump, and that was worth $190 million, $40 million he looks like he has made within about a two-hour span.Wall Street traders are now anticipating some regulatory scrutiny on trades that were made 10 minutes before Trump’s Eastern Time announcement about the pause. About 7,200 oil future contracts changed hands, a value of $760 million. Around the same time, there was this frenzied buying of S&P futures, 6,000 contracts with an absolute value of $2 billion.I got news for you. You’re not listening, unless you’re watching leftist NBC, what do they call it now? MS Now, the old MSNBC. Unless you’re listening to that left-wing station who do play the Democrats, who are never seen on all these other news stations, including CNN for the most part, who is saying that Donald Trump and his family are getting rich off this war and off of other policies of tariffs and non-tariffs and everything else.I’m afraid a lot of that is going to turn out to be true. If the Democrats do take the House and they take the Senate, which I think today is a very great possibility, then you’re going to have investigations into Donald Trump and his family. Of course, there’s going to be congressional subpoenas and the tide is going to turn from the Republican-controlled House and Senate today, which is burying any investigation of this until you have the Democrats running among.I’ll give you an example. When’s the last time you’ve seen AOC on any major news station? She’s on MS Now all the time. When do you see her? Well, she’s mouthing off all the time about the of Donald Trump. Now, we can laugh about AOC, but she’s going to have a very important role if they take control of the House. They’re going to go after Donald Trump much worse than he went through the last time. I think there is going to be a lot of fire where all the smoke is.I think it’s going to be very embarrassing to many people who support Donald Trump and think he can do no wrong when they’re going to find out that his net worth, and this is reported by Forbes, his net worth went up by $3 billion in the first 10 months of his presidency. He went from a total value of $4.7 billion when he took office to $7.9 billion today. Where did he get all of that money? How did he make so much money? How did he double his fortune? You can’t say it had nothing to do with his presidency, because if you are, then you have to then apologize to Hunter Biden, the Bidens, the Clintons, and the Obamas when we know they were crooks.Just because they were crooks does not let us think that it’s okay for our side to be crooks. I even said Marjorie Taylor Greene, now who has turned against the Republicans herself, but she made $180,000 in stock buys on things that she knew was going to happen, a la Nancy Pelosi. When she was questioned, when she was still in the House about it, it said, well, it’s our turn to be able to make some money. Our turn? How about the people’s turn? How about somebody representing the people? It always bothers me when I see these TV shows and they interview the Democrat and they interview the Republican. Well, that’s about 40% of the people’s views. How about interviewing somebody in the middle who hates both sides and can tell the plain truth to the people listening of what’s really going on? You don’t hear the real news. That’s what the plain truth is trying to do, by the way. We’re trying to give people well-balanced news and not just biblical prophecy, because this is not a religious site. I say this over and over again. This is a news site, and we’re trying to give people what is very hard to find. I do a lot of research. I spend a lot of my time away from Tamko Paint to try to find stories that I think people are not reading in one place anywhere.Unless you’re searching the Japan Times, the press in Moscow, the press in Europe, the press in the Middle East, Australia, you’re not really understanding what’s going on around the rest of the world and what they’re thinking of us. If you might think, well, we don’t care what the world thinks of us. Well, then you’re very naive if you don’t think what the world thinks of us.There is a responsibility this country has. We are a world superpower, soon not to be one, by the way, and we need to worry about what our enemies are doing and what our friends, who our friends are, and we better take care of them. Well, that’s the plain truth for this week’s Friday wrap-up.I’m going to end, instead of going on what’s over the weekend, of course, we have a show tomorrow at 7.11 a.m. We’re going to have a couple of Ernest Hemingway short stories for the 7.11 p.m. entertainment hour that we have every Saturday night, but I want to spend the last few minutes here. I did a show this morning, a 7.11 short show, on the birthday of my wife. My wife, Tammy Barney, Tammy Holler Barney, her maiden name was Holler, has been with me now. We’ve been friends for 48 years. I’ve known her for 50 years, and we’ve been married for 46 of those years, and she’s the greatest thing that happened in my life. She’s the love of my life. She’s brought me three beautiful daughters. I have grandchildren now, and I will tell you, if you’re a younger person who thinks it takes forever to go through high school, you know, those four years seem to last for hundreds of years. When you get to be my age, and anybody who’s up in age knows what I’m talking about, you look back, and you realize 50 years went by like a blink of an eye, and you realize there is no 50 years in the future for you like you thought when you were 30.Now you realize you’re lucky to get four, five, or 10 more years if you’re lucky and stay healthy, and I look back over the years with Tammy. We struggled in our business, Tamco, named after her. I always say it’s not Bobco, it’s Tamco, because she is what I live for.I live for my God. I live for my family. Number one, I do live for this Plain Truth broadcast.I don’t make money doing this. I don’t take advertising doing this. I believe it’s my duty to the God who has brought me the plain truth, and I understand God’s principles, and I think I should mention here, you know, God doesn’t talk to me.He don’t have breakfast with me like he did Abraham. I don’t have that kind of relationship with God. I talk to God every day. Many times a day, I try to get to a place every morning before I go to work to pray, and I thank God for what He’s brought me and my family and Tammy and I and our business, which is really growing, and it’s been a tough four years under Biden, and it’s been a tougher one year under Trump 2.0 with these tariffs and stuff, but my wife Tammy has been with me, and she sacrificed her whole life to raise our family and to do the best she can for me and our family, and she works day and night tirelessly answering telephones for the Tamco paint, and we answer our own phone calls. People can get a hold of her, get a hold of me. When a customer calls, they know they’re talking to the owner of the company. It’s a dedication to her. Now we’re a worldwide company with manufacturing plants overseas, and I love to see the name Tamco on paint cans in Africa and Asia and Europe, not only America, and it’s a tribute to my love for her, and I’m going to bore people to death maybe with this diatribe that I’m doing, but she’s the love of my life. She is the motivation that I have every day to go to work and to work hard for her and my family and our employees and our customers, but she’s the drive all these years. She has stood by me, and she’s always been a beautiful woman. She’s much more beautiful than I deserve, and I am so grateful to God that we got together some 46 years ago. Happy birthday, Tammy Barney.Happy birthday. I love you very much. This is Bob Barney for The Plain Truth.Today’s Friday wrap-up brought to you by theplaintruth.com saying have a good, safe weekend, and until Monday, bye-bye.
