Arrogance and God – Proverbs 16:18: Pride precedes a disaster, and an arrogant attitude precedes a fall (Transcript)

Whenever you hear the phrase, there’s going to be peace in the Middle East soon, then you know a war is going to break out. Recently, when I heard President Trump say how America was going to own Gaza and be in charge of everything having to do with Gaza, I was reminded of the mistake that Ronald Reagan made when he put our Marines in Beirut…I could see how that ended up and I could see that happening all over again. – Bob Barney

Hi, Bob Barney here with the Plain Truth Today. Watching the media on television has become very discouraging, especially after the election. Since the election, we have gone from a media that had some truth in their broadcasts to where it’s almost absurd to listen to them.

It wouldn’t matter if it is Fox News or the Newsmax, or OAN, you at least knew it was going to be somewhat pro-Trump yet they could still find some warts on him however today, when you listen to those three networks it is like you’re listening to a bunch of propagandists trying to con you into believing that President Trump is the greatest thing that’s ever happened to America. They are communicating that he is greater than everyone in the past, and will somehow, like a messiah, be able to correct all the ills of America within a couple of weeks’ time. When all of the evidence is showing that we are in the very early stages of what I believe could be a failed administration.

Again, I know I’m going to get a lot of letters about this, and people are going to say, I knew he was anti-Trump, but truth be told, I am not. I voted for President Trump in 2016. I voted for him in 2020 and in 2024. My paint business that I almost lost under Joe Biden, did very well under the Trump Administration.

I don’t think people listening to me understand how we are invested in a President Donald Trump…as if he is someone that is going to bring success, sanity, and a good and peaceful government. We certainly do not want to go to war with Canada, for example, or get into war with people that we just don’t need to go to war with but saying you’re going to own Gaza and that you’re so great that you can do what God predicts in his Bible is never to happen when it comes to the Middle East…I see this as a significant concern.

The first article I had written for ThePlainTruth.com I entitled, Why The Middle East Will Always Be in Your Future . It doesn’t seem that Trump learns from history. I am a history major, and I understand what history means and how history requires us to learn from it, or we repeat histories mistakes.

When President Trump said what he did about Gaza, I believe he may have turned every pro-Western Arab nation…every Muslim nation against us. A good analogy is something that I had heard someone say on TV that when you and your sister are having a fight and your father comes down and breaks it up and lets you both have it verbally, your common enemy no longer is your sibling…your common enemy becomes your father. Why? Because he got in the middle. President Trump putting himself in the middle of the Israeli-Arab conflict is not going to win him any friends with the Arab world. I’m not saying you’re ever going to really have friends there, and I’m not saying you can’t get tough there, because I have been calling for us to annihilate Hezbollah and Hamas, but to do so through the support of Israel and not allowing America to be in the forefront and own it so to speak. I think this way because that is the talk of a man that has started to get a biblical-type arrogance, like Nebuchadnezzar.

You have got to read the story about Nebuchadnezzar. Maybe we’ll do a whole big show on Nebuchadnezzar and his arrogance. The story is about how he stands over after being shown the power of God when he tried to kill Daniel’s friends in the fiery furnace. He stands over everything in his kingdom, and he looks around at himself, and he keeps saying, how great I amI’m the greatest person in the world…there’s no God greater than me. I’m better than any God of the Hebrews or anyone. If you know the story, you know what happens, God talks to him from heaven and says, you are going to, for seven years, be thrown from your capitol. You’re going to be thrown from your kingdom, and you’re going to eat grass like a cow, and you’re going to live like a madman in the wilderness. That’s what wound up happening to Nebuchadnezzar for seven years, until he came to his senses, and God put him back in power again. This was once after he confessed to God that God was the king of the universe.

Never be more arrogant than God.

There is no peace coming to the Middle East. You’ve heard that here, and you can believe it, or you can choose not to believe it and be an ever-Trumper and say, oh, “he’s going to do it”. Jesus Christ Himself said though that there is going to be war in the Middle East, and that He’s coming back to save us from ourselves. One thing I do not want is God coming back to save us from President Trump’s errors. Donald John Trump was a great president and still can be a great president and we need him to have a rational mind! We do not need him to arrogantly think that he can solve every problem in the world and operate from the place that the world loves him.

The people he has surrounded himself with, these big high-tech billionaires, well they hate his guts and will do anything they can to make money and to rip you and me off. If Donald Trump is the avenue, they can do it, they’ll do it, and the minute they turn on him, they will turn on him and bury him. These are the people he has surrounded himself with. He needs to have people that he can listen to, common people, again, that he used to listen to who were there to let him know when he’s going down the wrong road. Those that are willing to tell him that America cannot afford to go back to democratic rule. If we go back to democratic rule in 26 in the House and 28 in the House, Senate, and the presidency, America is destroyed…we will be in captivity, and then the countdown to Armageddon begins.

I’m sorry if this bothers everybody that is listening, but it is the plain truth and that is all I’m going to say on that subject.

I will end this with something a bit more upbeat. I try to end things with a message of hope and the reason why is because behind every bad message God gives to us, He gives a message of hope as well. He gives us a message that we can redeem yourself, and we personally can redeem ourselves no matter what direction this Country winds up going in with President Trump, be it good or bad. You yourself can make sure you align yourself with the living God, the God of the Old Testament, the God of the New Testament, who is Jesus Christ Himself, and the Father God who gives power to us all! This power we are given is through His Holy Spirit.

This is Bob Barney with The Plain Truth saying keep the faith with God, believe in the Bible believing exactly what the Bible says. Do not believe in any man and certainly do not put your hope in any man or you will fail.

Until tomorrow, thank you for listening…bye-bye.
