The Plain Truth is so Happy That You Have Been Enjoying Bob’s Broadcasts.
2000 years ago, a newscaster that we know of as Jesus Christ warned us about false Christianity. The warning was not against the devil but against false Christianity…about people who come in His name and deceive many.

Hello, Bob Barney, another Friday wrap-up after two weeks. We didn’t have one last Friday, but we’re going to have a Friday wrap-up today. We have quite a bit to talk about because we really can talk about two weeks’ worth of stuff, and of course the economy, tariffs, Donald Trump, policies, they’re the forefront right now of what’s going on, and we’re going to talk about all of that today and what’s going to happen over the weekend and the shows we will have for the Sabbath day tomorrow and for Sunday show and beyond, but the first thing we’re going to talk about, of course, is today’s date, Friday the 13th, and what Friday the 13th really means for those people who think that it means bad luck.
2:01 Well, the identity of the number 13 is actually good luck for a particular people. You understand there was originally 12 nations of Israel. Israel is just Jacob’s name that was changed by God. Jacob was born with the name Jacob, and he had 12 sons, but when Jacob was fleeing from his father-in-law, he had an encounter with God himself, who was the God called Jesus Christ today, and they wrestled, and Jacob actually started beating God. Now, you might think, how can a person beat God? Well, maybe God was making that happen for a purpose. God does things like that, but anyway, after Jacob was holding God, and God said, let me go, and Jacob said, not until you bless me, and then God said, what is your name? And he says, Jacob, and God said to him, who’s Jesus Christ, no longer shall your name be Jacob, it shall be Israel, and you know what Israel means? You struggled with God, and you won, and this nation, the nation of Israel that God has blessed with now 13 tribes, 13 nations, not 12.
How did we get 13? Well, you read that again in Genesis. Joseph was one of the 12 tribes of Israel, but he had two sons, Manasseh and Ephraim, the youngest being Ephraim, and Jacob blessed those two sons and said, I adopt these two sons, and my name, Israel, will be on these two sons, and so Israel, the nation, went from 12 nations of Israel to 13, Joseph being the 12th and the 13th tribe, Manasseh being the 12th, Ephraim, the younger, becoming the 13th, and there was a blessing that’s very important to the people of the United States of America and to England. The blessing was that these two sons would be the greatest power to ever exist in the world, and that the younger son, America, would even be greater than its older brother, England, who was a colonizing son, who would be a colonizing nation, and it will be the single greatest nation to ever grace the face of the earth until Christ returns with his kingdom, and that is us, my friends.
4:44 You can laugh at this, you don’t have to believe it, but we are Israel, and whenever you read a prophecy concerning Israel, it is concerning the United States of America, to a lesser extent, England and its commonwealth nations, and to even a lesser extent, the other tribes of the Lost Ten Tribes, Denmark, France, the Netherlands, Scandinavia, Ireland, Scotland, these are all part of the Lost Ten Tribes, their own tribes of Asher and Naphtali and Dan and so forth, Reuben being France. This is what today really symbolizes. Friday the 13th is America’s day. We are the 13th country. We are of Israel. We are the best of the best that God made, and he intended us to lead by example and to bring Christian thought around the world, which for many years we did do, sometimes wrongly, sometimes ignorantly, sometimes by force that we should not have done, but we have been the bastion of freedom around the world for some 100 years before us was England, but we took the mantle and we didn’t make an empire. We didn’t colonize like England did. We brought freedom where we went, and we brought freedom of people, and we opened our doors and let people come here to live. This is what made America what we are today.
Well, not what we are today, but what we became, the greatest nation to ever grace the face of the earth, but unfortunately, that’s not what we are today. That was a show we did before. America in decline, and America is in decline, and here comes some of the reasons why. We’re going to talk now about the economy, what’s going on with the trade negotiations, what’s going on with China or Japan or India, what’s going on with the economy, what’s going on with the price of gold, and then we’ll wrap up the show with what’s going to happen over the weekend. We’ll be right back after these words about The Plain Truth. Hi, this is Bob Barney for The Plain Truth today and theplaintruth.com, the one place to go to to find out what the real news is that matters to you. That’s theplaintruth.com. Go there every day. Thank you, and we’re back for the Friday wrap-up, and we’re going to talk a little bit about the economy, these trade negotiations with China, these terrible tariffs, and we ran programs all week long on the Plain Truth Today broadcast, some of the videos we found on YouTube, and always remember that we do not endorse all the views of these videos or the sponsors in between. We have no say over that.
6:56 We ourselves, The Plain Truth, accepts no one sponsorship except for our own company because we are beholden to no one but our God to give you what the news is and what it means for you and your family and this nation and the world, and this week we had some really good stories about the effects of the tariffs, the big massive layoffs. You know, I watch the news probably a lot more than most people. I watch business channels. I watch CNBC, plus I go to the internet to find stories for The Plain Truth, but some of the things just are not being reported by the American media. You got to go outside of America to understand GM is laying off like 14,000 people because of the tariffs. UPS is laying off 20,000 people because of the tariffs. Ford is laying off some 1,000 people because of the tariffs. Amazon, Walmart are laying off tens of thousands of people because of the tariffs. You’re not being told this that 90,000 people are losing their job and you say, well, I don’t see this in the unemployment.
That’s because a lot of these people are not filing for claims right away and the unemployment number that you get is about as bogus as any number there is. This is the number you should know about unemployment. 100% of participation would mean that every able-bodied American who can work has a job. Then we would have 100% employment. Do you know, and I’ve said this many times in this show, do you know what the participation rate is? Do you know how many working able-bodied Americans, we’re not talking about retirees, we’re talking about of the workforce of able-bodied American people, do you know what the percentage are working? 62%. That means we really have a 38% unemployment number. It’s just not reported. It’s not reported because people aren’t even looking for jobs. They’re not looking for jobs for many reasons.
8:23 One of the reasons they’re not looking for jobs, by the way, is because they know they’re not going to get anything that pays anything. Especially if they’re in depressed towns like the town my manufacturing plant is in. It’s a very depressed, small town America destroyed by the great decimation of American manufacturing during the 1970s and 80s and 90s when American politicians sold us down the drain and the American public itself sold themselves down the drain when they first left God behind, didn’t think anything what God thought, and number two, they wanted to vote themselves pay raises by giving themselves all kinds of incentives, all kinds of tax credits for their children or for schooling or for this or for that, where 57% of Americans today pay no income tax. That’s unheard of in America. I don’t believe in the income tax, by the way. I’d like to see the income tax abolished, but as long as we have it, everybody should have to pay in because if you don’t pay one income tax, then you’re paying the worst tax and that’s called inflation, which hits the poor people the worst. I think the income tax should be abolished. I had a show on us a year or two ago. It’s called the fair tax where everybody pays a national sales tax and there is no income tax and that the government gives every man, woman, and child in America every month a check for $500.
So if you’re a family of four, you’d get $2,000 a month from the government to defray against the government surcharge or sales tax on everything you buy and everything would be taxed at about 20%. And you say, well, that’s a big tax. Yeah, but you’re getting, let’s say you’re a family of four, you’re getting $2,000 a month to cover that. Well, five times that means you’d have to spend $10,000 a month on goods, services, and the things you want to buy in order before you start spending your own money for taxes, for the sales tax. Think about it. And then if you think it doesn’t raise money, well, now you’re getting sales tax money from foreigners, illegal aliens, drug dealers, those people working under the table, people coming over here on vacation that we didn’t chase away because they got mad over the tariffs. This is where you would get your money from. And the fairtax.org, you go to that website, they explain it perfectly how we would double the revenue that we’re getting today if we did that policy, even by giving every family of four $2,000 a month. If you’re a single person out there, you’d get $500 a month.
11:24 How many single people by themselves spend $2,500 a month? That would be what you would have to spend before you’d have to worry about our 2,000, I’m sorry, $2,000 a month before you’d have to pay anything out of your pocket. Think about it. That’s the way it should go.And America, there is things we can do in order to save this country from going downhill. And we’re going downhill as fast as the Titanic sunk in 19, what was it, 1912. We’re going down fast and no one is bringing any good sound advice to do anything from our leadership. They’re trying to tariff people. All tariffs do is protect lousy businesses and lousy business leaders who don’t know how to compete in the world. That’s the truth.Protects lazy people who don’t want to work but get paid $50 an hour, but they want to have 45-minute hours. Do you know that many autoworkers, I know in the Ford plant when it was in Norfolk, it’s gone, maybe this is one of the reasons, but a work hour at the UAW plant in Norfolk for Ford was 52 minutes long. That means you only work 52 minutes an hour and that did not count your breaks that you got twice a day or your half hour for lunch that was paid for.
Think about it. Americans just don’t want to work like we’d worked in the past. Americans at one time were the greatest single workers in the world and today we are probably one of the worst workers in the world. That’s why we imported all these illegals, and we did import all of these illegals, be it our businesses or our people who didn’t want to work doing these nasty jobs like the picking of cucumbers in the hot California sun. However, as of yesterday, Donald Trump changed his mind again when he was asked about how about the migrants that’s going to pick the crops in California and other places, what are we going to do with them? Donald Trump all of a sudden had a reversal of a policy that I want to have the mega people are to take this because now all of a sudden certain illegal migrants can stay here and those that are working in picking your food in California and elsewhere and those working for hotels, like working for Donald Trump at his hotels because of a report a week ago that I read showed that about a third of Donald Trump’s workers at his various golf courses and hotels are illegal immigrants. But here’s what he had to say about this.
13:34 We’re also going to work with farmers that if they have strong recommendations for their farms for certain people, we’re going to let them stay in for a while and work with the farmers and then come back and go through a process, a legal process. But we have to take care of our farmers and hotels and various places where they need the people. It’s going to be interesting to watch how mega people on Fox News spin this to make it sound great. All of a sudden these illegals are okay to be here when other people working jobs maybe in manufacturing businesses are rounded up and deported without any judicial hearing, without following the law. And all these people, when I read the Daily Mail and I read other places and I read these responses, we don’t have to follow the law like the Democrats had to do. We need to get rid of everybody who came here illegally. We don’t need any of them here. Now all of a sudden, we need people that work in hotels, which he tends to own himself. And now somebody must have said something to him in the last week or two and said, you know, the California, I said this a couple of weeks ago, right? I said, what happens in July and August when the whole world spins around and California becomes the breadbasket of food for the world? People don’t realize this, but if you take California and you were to make it a country, it would be either the fifth or the sixth largest economy country in the world.
The United States, China, Japan, and I think Germany was the only countries ahead of it. That’s how big the California economy is. And it’s basically in two things. It’s in the Silicon Valley with the computers and it’s in farming. So much of our vegetables, crops, and our fruits and vegetables come from California. And especially in the summer months here in the wintertime, as I mentioned, it moves to the south part of the globe, you know, South America, Australia, that’s when we’re winter, they’re summer. And so we have to import food. And I had a show, oh, I think it was a wrap up Friday, about four or five weeks ago. And I said, you’re going to have duties on food that you can’t get in the wintertime in the United States. And I remember, I’m old enough to remember back in the day when my mom would shop at the A&P grocery store in Connecticut, where when wintertime came, you couldn’t get apples, you couldn’t get plums and peaches, you couldn’t get summer squash, you couldn’t get corn. You could only get the crops that were either harvested in the late part of the year, like cabbage and kale or potatoes, which, you know, you can store for up to a year. Those kinds of foods were all you could buy in a store back in the 1960s and 70s.
15:56 But with global trade becoming the big thing in the 1980s and 90s, especially after the Ronald Reagan revolution, which changed the whole world, the whole world’s economy changed because of Ronald Reagan, to the good, I should say. Then it made us able to go to our grocery store and get plums in February and peaches in January, which you couldn’t do when I was a child. And so we have a global economy, but we have a president right now who was not like the president we had in 2017.I’m telling this right now. The Donald Trump that I voted for in 2016, 2020, and 2024, because the Donald Trump president of 2017, 2018, 2019, even in the early COVID, that president did smart things with our economy and with the world’s economy. He targeted tariffs against China only where those tariffs were needed, not against everything coming from China that we don’t even make here.So little by little, he makes these bombastic statements. And then all of a sudden, someone finally gets to him because he’s surrounded by a lot of Fox Yes people. Somebody finally gets to him and says, Mr. President, we don’t make this in America. We haven’t. We can’t. We don’t grow bananas in America.
We don’t grow coffee in America. And then he comes up with these instant caveats. Well, you watch any business show, I was listening to one last night before I went to bed.And what did the person say? The person said, I’m a businessman. I don’t know from day to day. I can’t plan 10 minutes down the road with this president today, never mind 10 years. And if I’m going to invest a billion dollars in a new plant, I need to invest it over 20 to 25 years before I even realize my investment. This guy’s going to be gone in another three and everything he’s doing now is going to be reversed. So why would I want to come back here when I have everything around the world going well? And here’s the other thing. And I said this before, and my company is looking to do the same thing. By the way, there is a whole world out there to sell to. This is what Ronald Reagan said.
I think I’m going to have to next week replay his tariff shows for those who didn’t listen to him. But if you go back in our archives a few pages back, you can find them. They were only about two months ago, where he explains why tariffs are the worst thing for the American economy, because what it does is it stops us from being able to export our products to other countries.Because what does those countries do when we put a big tariff against them? They retaliate, and they put a likewise or even greater tariff against us. When China did it, and I knew that was coming two months ago, and all trade stopped, and the Walmarts and the Targets and even paint companies like mine all of a sudden realized there’s going to be price increases threefold. You’re looking at not a 25% increase in price like under Biden. You’re looking at some things up to 150% price increases. In a company, you take a big, giant company. Look at their paperwork.
18:01 I’m not talking about the pharmaceutical companies that make billions of dollars because they are able to run monopolies, and our government feeds it through Medicare over paying for prescription medication or even protecting their bad vaccines. I’m talking about the average Fortune 500 company, and the average little company like mine makes a 5%, 6%, 7% or 10% net. Let’s say you’re really a well-run company, and you make a 10% net. Let’s say you’re going to be a small company. You’re going to do $20 million a year. Well, a 10% net would be $2 million. That means your employees and your cost of goods sold, what you buy, raw materials or finished goods, is going to be $18,000 of that 20%. On average, less than 50% are wages to employees. Usually, the average is 30%.
You take the $20 million in sales, $2 million in profit, and then you take out $7 million for employees, and now you’re down to $13 million. That means $13 million are the cost of goods sold. If they go up 150% because what you need to buy only comes from China, that means that $13 million becomes $46 million, and you’re only a $20 million company.I don’t think anybody in this administration sat down, put a pen to paper, and said, this ain’t going to work for American businesses. Do you know how many small mom-and-pop businesses have gone out of business? I don’t have the figures in front of me, but I was listening to a show on, I believe it was even Fox News, believe it or not. It was Liz Claiborne’s show. The person was saying that they think 50,000 small businesses will go out of business because of the Chinese tariffs. 50,000 little guys. That probably is 50,000 households, and then there’s at least probably three or four employees per household. You’re looking at now 150,000 households now without a job because of tariffs they didn’t need to be. Every time, all of a sudden, this little fiat comes up, well, how about this situation? Well, we’re going to accept these people. These people can be here illegally.
20:33 Hotel workers, well, no American wants to work as a maid in a hotel. We understand that. I know better than anybody. I own all these hotels, right? That’s what he’s thinking, and then I got to keep them. A third of mine, this report came out, a third of my employees are illegals. I mean, this stuff, you can’t make it up. This is like a Democrat-run administration. This is what the Democrats do, friends. This is what the Democrats have done from time immemorial. They never practice what they preach. They make you go through all these hoops. They want your money to pay for all these welfare programs. They themselves donate none of their own money, none. A liberal in the past, a liberal Democrat has always been the stingiest when it came to giving tithes to a church or money to some civic organization or non-profit organizations. They’re cheap. They want the government to give it because when the government gives away the money, it’s not theirs. First of all, they’re cheating on their taxes. Charlie Rangel, you remember Charlie Rangel died a couple weeks ago. Big tax cheat.
How about Al Sharpton? He probably still owes 10, 20 million dollars. He never is going to pay it. These are the people that the Democrats always were, not the Republicans. But now we have a president who willy-nilly decides who’s a winner, who’s a loser. I had a person come into my shop the other day, my office, and he is for deporting all these people. And I said, how about the farmers? Do you think that we should deport people who pick the crops? And he thought, and he goes, well, I never really thought about that.I guess we’d have to. He’s a very good guy. He’s an insurance man.He knows what he’s talking about. And he never even thought about it. I said, you must watch nothing but Fox News.Well, yeah, that’s true. Well, you might want to watch some other or go on some, maybe go on the Plain Truth and get some other news. I got a next question for you.How much does a waitress make per hour? I don’t know. I think it’s about $3.50 an hour. No, that’s not minimum wage.
23:55 No, waitresses have different minimum wage. So you think it’s okay for a waitress not to pay tax on tips? So let’s say she works 30 hours a week. So her gross pay is $90 a week. So she’s only going to pay income tax on $90 a week, though her tips are going to be anywhere from $1,100 to $1,200 that week. Is that fair that she can now at $90 a week, she’s way over into the poverty level and makes her available for free health insurance, free food stamps, free welfare, free rent control when she’s still making $1,500 to $1,800 a week? Meanwhile, the person running for my business, who’s working in 100-degree temperatures to make paint, moving around 55-gallon drums of resins and solvents, who’s making $1,000 a week, he’s got to pay the tax on the $1,000 a week, not on $3 an hour. It’s picking winners and losers. And this is not what this country needs, and it’s never what R3epublicans did in the past. It’s never what Ronald Reagan did, I should say that, because there are many Republicans who are rhinos and they’re really Democrats and Republican in name only. But I did not expect this.
I will tell you the truth, I did not expect it from this administration, because this is not how they ran the first time around. And I’ll tell you something else before we do the weekend shows. The truth of the matter is that Wilbur Ross, who was the Trade Commerce Secretary under the first Trump administration, he was on Larry Kudlow the other night, and Larry asked him about the tariffs. And he said, well, you know, I’m the father of the first round of tariffs. I’m the one that did the tariffs on China. So what do you think? And he goes, well, honestly, I don’t see why we would go after everybody in the world at once. It would seem to me you would pick off the low-hanging fruit like Vietnam and India and Thailand and Indonesia and Portugal and Greece, little economies that you could kind of bully before you went after China, Germany, Europe in general, Canada, Mexico. He says, it didn’t make sense to me. There’s the answer why it was different the first time around. He had better advisors, and he does not have those today. Well, this weekend and tomorrow is the Sabbath day, and we do promote the Sabbath day and God’s laws. And one of the big 10 of the 10 commandments is the fourth one. It says, thou shall honor the Sabbath day and keep it holy. And we ask our people to look into that and do it for themselves. We’ll have our normal Sabbath show in the morning, 7-Eleven tomorrow morning. And tomorrow night, we’re going to have another radio program from the past at the 7-Eleven p.m. hour. And Sunday, I think I’m going to have my own show this Sunday, which is going on about America in decline. And I may replay that during the week, but we do have a pretty good audience on Sunday. So I think I’m going to run my show this Sunday.
26:55 So that’s the Friday wrap-up for this Friday, May 13th. I mean, June 13th, Friday the 13th, which I want to again say, which is a very lucky number for America. Thirteen is the number of our identity. By the number 13, you can prove through your Bible who exactly we are in Bible prophecy. But have a good weekend. I hope you have a safe weekend. And we’ll see you back here Sunday for my show and again Monday for the new week where we have 7-Eleven a.m., 7-Eleven p.m., and noontime shows every day, Monday through Friday. Not only me, but you’ll also hear a lot of different points of view. And that’s what we try to get you. We don’t give you nonsense points of view. I’m not going to put that on here. But we try to give you points of view that you’re not getting when you watch anything on TV. Because you watch MSNBC, it’s a joke. But now you watch Fox, or you watch Newsmax or OAN, and they’re a joke. News Nation is a little better, but a lot of their program is jokes. So anyway, until Monday or Sunday, if you want to listen to my brand-new show Sunday, it will be on Sunday morning, 7-Eleven a.m. Until Monday, though, when I’m back also with another week of new topics and everything.
This is Bob Barney for The Plain Truth Today, brought to you by theplaintruth.com, the one place you go to find out what’s going on, what’s really going on in the plain truth of what it is for you and your family and what God thinks about things. I don’t talk to God. God doesn’t come and have breakfast with me like he does a lot of these people that you listen to on TV and radio. I read the Bible. I understand the Bible. I let the Bible interpret itself. And I know what the future is and many things because I know what the Bible says. I know who the end time players are because the Bible tells you. I know where the antichrists come in because the Bible tells you. I know what’s going to happen in Jerusalem when right before Christ returns, because the Bible tells you. I also know that the second or I should say the second, but the second part, I will say that of the Godhead, Jesus Christ is coming back and he’s coming back to save us from ourselves.
29:22 You can put your you can put all the money in you want on it is going to come true. Maybe not your lifetime, maybe not mine, but it’s going to happen because the Bible says so. This is Bob Barney again. Thank you for listening.
