The Plain Truth is so Happy That You Have Been Enjoying Bob’s Broadcasts.
2000 years ago, a newscaster that we know of as Jesus Christ warned us about false Christianity. The warning was not against the devil but against false Christianity…about people who come in His name and deceive many.

Good morning, everyone. This is Bob Barney. It’s 7:11 in the morning and I have a different subject today that I think some people will find interesting and some people are going to find very boring, but it’s an important subject because it’s something you probably do not know about and that is God’s true calendar.
We follow different calendars throughout the year. There’s the federal calendar. There’s the school calendar, which begins in September.
Of course, there’s the Julian calendar that we’re following today. I guess it’s called the Gregorian calendar now, where the new year starts in January and ends December 31st, which was a Roman calendar of 365 days. Some people who listen to this broadcast know of the Jewish calendar because some people are Seventh-day keepers who follow the Jewish calendar, which is a lunar moon calendar that goes by new moons. It’s a misunderstanding of the Bible and everything else, but that’s another story we’re going to get into today. That calendar, of course, changes every single year, so nothing is ever fixed perfectly. And then there are certain calendars people have heard probably of the Mayan calendar and the Egyptian calendar and the Babylonian calendar, and if you want to know more about the Babylonian calendar, just look at the Jewish calendar or the Hebrew calendar and you really have the Babylonian calendar.
It is my belief, before we get going into what God’s calendar is and you can prove certain things in the Bible, it is my belief that the calendar at one time, the earth rotated around the sun perfectly in 360 days and that the moon rotated around the earth perfectly every 30 days. Today, it is very obvious that it takes the earth 365 and a quarter days to circumnavigate the earth, I’m sorry, the sun, and it takes the moon only 29 and about a half days to go around the earth. And so we have a calendar today that just cannot be exact. There is, I believe, a reason for that and I believe the Bible gives us a clue, but the Bible also gives us a clue that God’s calendar is still 360 days long. And now, how do you fit that into a 365 and a quarter day year? Well, that’s another story and we’ll get into that today.
We’re also going to get into, according to God, when does the day start? Because, you know, we follow, which is, I kind of find ridiculous, we follow a daytime that starts at midnight. At midnight begins the new day and that is a Roman reckoning of time that we still follow to this day from the Roman Empire. The Jewish people of today believe that their day begins in the evening at sunset and it’s sunset to sunset, which is easily disproven in the Bible. God’s calendar starts when you would think it starts. It starts at the dawn of the morning. The first inkling of the sunrise in the morning is when God’s calendar begins. And we’ll put back up today some of my calendar articles. We won’t get into it in this show. We’re just going to get into a broad spectrum to describe what God’s calendar is, God’s holy days, and why God wants us to follow these days. There’s a discussion amongst people in the Church of God who wonder if the days still apply today.
Only the Sabbath day may be applying today. Other people think that all the holy days apply today to everyone. In my estimation, only the Sabbath day today is counting to be followed. Although it is possible if you follow the right regulations, you can follow the Passover, the Feast of Tabernacles, and the days that God wants us to follow. We are specifically told not to learn the ways of the heathen and follow their holidays. And their holidays are the days that we follow today. Halloween, Christmas, Easter, New Year’s Day, these are all pagan holidays from ancient Babylon or ancient Rome that we have adopted. Some of those days we have Christianized. So-called Easter and Christmas have been our pagan holidays that’s been so-called Christianized, which is nothing of the sort. You can find many instances in the Bible about not following the ways of the heathen. Do not take their holidays and put God’s name on it. God gets insulted. And I guess the easiest way to explain that is if you were married before and you had children with that spouse, and I’ll be gender neutral here, and I’ll just say the spouse. It could be a woman, it could be the man. I’m not talking about homosexuals or transsexual type things. I’m talking about it could be a woman, it could be the man in the relationship that is now divorced, has a second spouse, and the children are told that the second spouse’s birthday now becomes their mother’s birthday, and they are not to follow their real mother’s birthday. Well, I can guarantee you, or the real father’s birthday. I’m trying to say we’re gender neutral. I’m guarantee you that the original parent of those children would feel offended that they no longer are following, their children are no longer observing their birthday, or their special days, or their anniversaries and stuff like that. Well, it’s the same thing. God says, and I know people are going to have trouble with this, but it’s out of the Bible.
God says He’s a jealous God, and He will not allow any other God to take his place. And the same happens with God’s holidays. He is not going to allow pagan holidays, put his name on it, and say it’s a Christian holiday. God just is not going to accept that. And you can do all kinds of searches as you want to, and look into God’s holy days, and you will have numerous articles written by different people. Now, a lot of the articles are going to be wrong, and I’ll explain that in this program, but then again, you’ll still get the idea that God wants his holidays followed. His holidays are, of course, the most important is the Saturday Sabbath. Then next to that, in the spring of the year, comes the new year, which we’re going to talk about in a second, comes Passover and the week of unleavened bread, comes the Feast of First Roots, then comes the Feast of Pentecost, then comes the Feast of Trumpets, which brings in the seventh month of the year, then the Feast, well, you shouldn’t say Feast, but the Day of Atonement, when you fast and pray, which this year we want people to fast and pray on June 14th.
You can see that jeremiah3227.com website, which we do recommend you go to and read all about praying for America and fasting for America, June 14th, but we should probably also do it on September 25th, because September 25th is the Day of Atonement, and it would be good to atone for America. (The Jeremiah site has been expired)
And then after that comes the week festival called the Feast of Tabernacles, and the last great day is the eighth day of the feast. So that’s the end of God’s calendar year. His holy days go from April all the way up until first week of October. It is okay to follow days like Thanksgiving, because God always allows a day of Thanksgiving at any time we choose. And so I never have a problem with anybody who wants to have Thanksgiving as a Thanksgiving to God, and not just to watch football on TV and have a turkey dinner. But going back to when the day begins, people that believe the day begins in the evening, the Jewish people and many Sabbatarians, get so by misreading the book of Genesis. And it says, in the beginning God, which is Elohim is the word, meaning more than one, created the heavens and the earth, and the earth was formless or became formless and void. And then the first thing it says, God said, let there be light. When does that happen? In the morning. And then God did work all day long, and then it ends with, then came evening, then came morning, the first day.
Now, if you read that without any preconceived notions, you realize that the day began at the command of let there be light, and the next day began at the end of the darkness in the beginning of the second day of light at sunrise. The day of God is reckoned from sunrise to sunrise, and not from sunset to sunset. That came into the Jewish calendar during their Babylonian captivity. You can prove easily in the Bible, and we have an article, and this week we’re going to put up a lot of articles on the calendar, and because we’re coming into the Holy Week season of Passover and Unleavened Bread soon, we’re going to be putting up a lot of articles about the calendar, when the day begins, and I’m not going to get into this program, because it would take five programs, and it’s just as easy to hear a general idea of what is going on, and then go and read the articles for yourself. They’re free. You just download them and print them if you want, and you will see God’s plan, and why is God’s Day, God’s calendar, and God’s holy days important to you? Well, if God is important to you, the things that God thinks are important should be important to you. If you have children, and there are certain things important to your children, they become important to you. If you have a spouse, and certain things are important to your spouse, like maybe remembering your anniversary, then that should become important to you, if there’s any love of your spouse.
Well, I could say the same applies to God. Whatever God thinks is important for us to do, I think we should do, and God clearly wants us to obey His Ten Commandments, number one, and one of those Ten Commandments is the Sabbath day, and then to do by our own study of the Bible, which is God’s love letter to us, every word of the Bible is inspired by God, or direct quotes of God. They are read in the Plain Truth Bible, in both the Old and New Testament, because the God speaking in the Old Testament is always Jesus Christ, and you can prove that, and you can go to theplaintruth.com, and you can see the articles that are the literature that’s available, which proves who is the God of the Old Testament. It is not this mean old father God, and you know, this young Jesus was born a year zero, and He made everything, everybody full of love and forgiveness, and He’s a different God than that mean old God of the Old Testament. Well, that mean old God of the Old Testament that ordered the destruction of women, children, and all the animals in the land of Canaan, was none other than the God who became a human, and became known as Jesus Christ, and that’s just the plain truth of the identity of the God of the Old Testament. It is Jesus Christ, and you read the first chapter of John, the book of John, chapter one, and it becomes clear who Jesus Christ is in His pre-existent form. But going back to the morning day, the day begins in the morning.
There’s an article that we, like I said, we will have up this whole week, and different articles both on the message board, and on the main page of theplaintruth.com about when the day begins, and it is very important to realize that the day begins at sunrise, and which makes sense. When does your day begin? When you wake up out of bed in the morning, and most people that have a job wake up around sunrise, a little before, a little after maybe, but that’s when their day begins. Their day don’t begin after they worked all day long at the factory, or on a farm somewhere, and then go home, have dinner, and then the new day begins when they’re ready to go to sleep. Even the idea of it is absurd. So we understand, once you read these articles, you’ll understand that the day simply begins in the morning. And there is a very good proof of the day beginning in the morning in the Book of John, again, the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Jesus was not resurrected on a Sunday morning. He was resurrected on a Saturday evening.
You can prove that because he would be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth, as a prophecy of Jonah, and he was executed around 3.30, 4 o’clock on Wednesday, the day before the Jewish Passover, but his Passover day, and he rose from the dead the evening, 72 hours later, on Saturday evening, still the Sabbath day, probably from three to six o’clock. It was dark, but it could be dark for different reasons. When the women got to the tomb Sunday morning, they found it empty. There was no sunrise, Easter sunrise, resurrection, another pagan holiday. But it’s important to realize that they got to the tomb, and the Book of John says, on the first, the morning of the first day of the week at dawn, just before the sun rose. And then in the same chapter, it says, that same evening being the first day of the week, all of the disciples met together.
Well, if there was an evening day, as the Jewish people follow, or many Sabbatarians follow, why would the day in the morning be the same day as that evening?
It’s very simple explanation, and when you mention this to any Sabbatarian, they really have trouble explaining that chapter, or that, the two verses in that chapter, because John is clearly showing that the same day at nighttime, when the disciples met together, was the same exact first day of the week, at nighttime, Sunday night, that was in the morning, Sunday morning, at sunrise. Going on now to the 360-day calendar, and this is an important subject, because it is my belief, and this is not found in the Bible, I will always tell you when something is my belief, based on the brain that God gave me, that in the beginning, the earth had a 360-day rotation around the sun. And you get this because all prophecy of God is based on 360-day years.in the, for example, in Revelation, we are told of a time of the tribulation, and it’s a time, times, and half a time, and then it’s 42 months, and then it says it’s 1260 days. When you figure it out, it is exactly 42 30-day months, and it’s important that it goes on to times was two years, time one year, half a time, so it’s three and a half years, and it’s important, and if you read the article that’s going to accompany this about the calendar, you will see that in the Jewish calendar practice today, that many Sabbatarians practice, they put in a 13th month every three years to get the calendar right, because a lunar calendar only has 354 days. They fall nine days short every year, so after the end of three years, they have to put in a 13th month to get back to around the spring equinox to have their calendar stay where Passover has to fall in the spring.
The Muslims, for example, follow a strict lunar calendar, and that is why their holiday like Ramadan falls throughout the year, depending on the year, because their year is only 354 days long. They do not adjust their calendar to the sun, and therefore, one year it could be in January, the next year it would be in February, or I think it goes backwards, it would be in December, then October, then it goes, it could be in July, it could be in the spring, and so their holidays are not fixed to a time of the year, but the Bible is specific that Passover must fall in the spring, so Jewish scholars, rabbis at the time, realized they had a problem with their calendar following a lunar calendar, so they arbitrarily, and they learned this from the Babylonians, added a 13th month every three years. Notice that in the book of Revelation, God’s calendar is 42 months of 30-day months, and that’s exactly, there’s no 13th month added.
There’s not 43 months, there’s 42 months, because God follows a 30-day, 12-month calendar. Originally, the moon took 30 days to circumnavigate the earth, and then the moon would be new at the first of every month. That is not the case today. When we see a new moon or a full moon, it changes in our month. Sometimes it may be, you know, September 11th, sometimes it may be September 25th, sometimes the new moon may be, you know, September 19th, or whatever month that we’re talking about, because it’s not fixed, because the moon’s rotation around the earth is only 29 and a half days. Why is that? This is my belief. This is not biblical. Again, I will tell you when I don’t follow the Bible, but I do follow logic. There was a great event that changed humankind forever. Before Noah’s flood, people lived to be nearly a thousand years old, number one. Number two, we know there was a atmosphere different than the atmosphere today, and it was, it’s a, the earth had a canopy around it, and that canopy was a great vapor cloud. That’s where the rain came from for the flood. The earth was flooded in two ways, according to the Bible. One was the underground water supply burst out of the underground and fill the earth and the lakes and the oceans up from underneath. But it also says that the great canopy over top of the earth that protected the earth from the sunlight, from the harmful sunlight radiation, also rained down in the form of rain for 40 days and 40 nights, which helped the flood. We notice in the Bible that after the flood, when Noah comes out of the ark, a couple things happen.
The atmosphere has now changed. The canopy is different.
So therefore, the air pressure is different. And this is maybe how we can now explain how these giant birds that we find in fossil records could fly. You know, the pterodactyl cannot fly in today’s environment. It could not, even the scientists today who believe in evolution, which is junk science, will tell you that they could not fly, and they had to walk up to the top of a mountain and jump off, and then they could glide all the way back to earth. They had no way, their body was too big for their wingspan. But it’s, but if you realize that the earth maybe had three or four times the pressure that we have today, then a pterodactyl could easily fly in those conditions, because there would be enough pressure of the air to give it lift.
That’s why it’s easier to fly at sea level, if you’re a bird, than to fly at Mount Everest. And that’s why birds are not up 20,000 feet high in Mount Everest or above, because there is no lift as the sky gets, if you go higher in a mountain, and the air becomes less pressurized. Just, just pointing that out to you. So to understand what happened with the flood, after the flood got trillions and trillions of tons of water from the canopy, plus from underground, the earth, in my opinion, became heavier, and its rotation around the sun slowed to the present 365 and a half days. This also caused the rotation of the moon to slow down, of the gravitational pull, by a half a day. And so the moon no longer followed the solar calendar at all, like it did before. But, you know, people will say, well, they call it new moons in the Bible. So the new moon is when there’s a new moon is when you follow it. That’s just not the case, and I can prove it by our own calendar. We say January is followed by a new month of February. Well, is there a new moon when we have February 1st? No. But where does the name moon, month, come from? Well, it comes from moon. Moonth. That’s where it comes from. It’s old English. I think it’s Germanic in origin. So we use the word month. So in the Bible, when you read new moon, it means new month, and it should be translated as the new month, because after the flood, the months no longer corresponded to the moons, and they were not looking for the crescent of the moon to decide when the new month began. That is Babylonian. That is pagan in origin.
They knew their calendar, and their calendar was perfect. When Moses was told, and you see this in the book of Exodus, Moses is told this day will be your first days. Moses was familiar. He was an Egyptian pharaoh. He was in line to be a pharaoh in my opinion, but he was of royalty. Even though he was a Hebrew born from the tribe of Levi, he was adopted by the pharaoh’s daughter and raised as a prince of Egypt. He was learned in everything that Egypt knew about. And Egypt followed a solar calendar of 365 and a quarter day a year, but their calendar was only 12 30-day months. How did they justify that extra five and a quarter days? And the answer is so simple. You have to wonder why we never thought of it for our own calendar.
Now unlike the God’s calendar, which always must start in the spring, doesn’t that make sense? Spring is the beginning of the birth from the death, and we’ll get into that in a minute here. The Egyptian day New Year always started on the summer solstice in June. The reason for that is because they had to know exactly when the river Nile would flood. And it floods within the same one or two days every single year, believe it or not. And so they needed to be exactly known when that flooding was going to happen so they could channel the water to grow their crops. And so they easily realized if June 20th, the solstice, was the first day of the new year, then they would count 30-day months. Then they would come to 360 days and they are five and a quarter days short. All they did for those five and a quarter days was count it as no day. And they waited to the next solstice to start their calendar. And when Moses was told, today will be your new month, he understood the Egyptian idea was being changed, but the same thing. He was to follow 12 30-day months and the calendar would fall five and a quarter days short. So around March 15th, March 16th every year, the month ends. And then there is a five-day, sometimes six-day, no day. It doesn’t count. You don’t count the calendar until March 20th, the spring equinox. And in doing so, the holidays fall on the same day every year. For example, Passover will always be the night time of the second of April and the daytime of the third of April. Pentecost will always be May 29th.The Day of Atonement will always be the night of the 24th and the day of the 25th. The Feast of Tabernacles will always start on September 29th. God’s calendar is perfect.God is the perfect mathematician. He doesn’t have a calendar that’s so far off. No one could ever figure out when something is going to happen.
The ancients knew their calendar very well and they could plan years ahead of time and know what day of the month it’s going to be because they were following a calendar based on the sun and not based on the moon. And the Dead Sea Scrolls, by the way, and you can look this up, they followed what was called the Jubilee calendar, which is very similar to the one that I propose as being followed. There is a small difference. They put what they call inter-calculary days in that don’t count between the seasons. I do not believe that is the accurate way, but it’s possible that it is. But they still have a 364-day calendar and that’s why I believe theirs is wrong. That God’s calendar is simply 365 days, but only 360 are counted in the calendar. It’s that simple. There will be an article that will really explain it to ad nauseum. It will really explain how God planned his day and his calendar year and why it is important for you to understand God’s plan. Because here it is in a nutshell, in the last three or four minutes of this program. When you’re born, it represents the dawn. Your life starts with a spark of life, a light source, and that’s the morning. And as you grow older, you become a teenager and that is like noontime. And then you become an adult and you become a working adult for 20 or 30 years and that represents like from noontime to 5 36 o’clock, which becomes evening.
And the evening of your life represents the evening time before you go to bed. And going to bed when you go to sleep represents what happens when you die. Because when you die, you go to sleep.
And that’s the truth.
I know a lot of people don’t want to believe that. They want to believe they go to heaven. But your Bible is clear that when you die, you are asleep. Jesus proves that when he says the little girl is not dead. She’s merely asleep. And then the disciples start wondering about, well, if she’s only asleep, why do we have to go there? And he goes, she is dead. So he equated death with the girl was in a sleep form. It’s that simple. I’m out of time for today and I don’t want this to go on, but I’m going to pick this up tomorrow with the calendar and what it all means and how you should really understand God’s way of things by following his calendar.
Again, this is Bob Barney saying thank you for listening.
