Hi, this is Bob Barney with the Plain Truth Today broadcast, 7-11 in the morning, and yesterday I started talking about the day, when the day begins, and God’s calendar, and why it’s important to you. And I left off yesterday, where I’m going to start off today, about how God’s day and how God’s calendar represents God’s plan for your life. And I think most people who are searching for the truth in their life, or as I would like to say, the plain truth in their life, have to eventually, if they’re going to be honest with themselves, realize that there is a Creator God, and I think they can easily prove that that Creator God is Jesus Christ and God the Father, the God of the Bible, and that everything around you, as the Bible says, proves the existence of those two beings as being God. The birds know it, the animals know it, everything created knows it except man. Man does not know it, because man is in rebellion against God and has been since the Garden of Eden. And the God of this earth, according to your Bible, you can find this, the God of this earth is Satan the devil.

He was placed here to be king of this earth. Adam was put here to replace the devil as the king of this earth, but Adam sinned and he did not qualify. And so it took God himself to become the savior of mankind. And the God of the Old Testament became a human baby in the womb of a virgin and was born Jesus Christ, what we know as Jesus Christ. And that is the Jesus’ existence that we know on earth. But he is the God of the Old Testament. He is the God that made the calendar, made the daytime, he’s the God that said, let there be light, which started the day when light begins. When does light begin? In the morning. When does the day end? At the end of the evening, at the end of the night, at the beginning of the morning, as the sun is just starting to light the earth, the old day is ending and the new day is beginning. And when the sun breaks forth, the day begins. And the Bible, as I told you, we will have stories up this entire holiday time to prove God’s calendar and God’s daytime, when it all happens, why it’s important up on the plain truth this time of the year. We always do around Passover time because Passover is very important. It’s important to follow, if you’re going to follow any holidays, to follow God’s holidays, but not everyone is required to follow God’s holidays unless they do the right preparation. The only holiday you are mandated to observe is the Sabbath day. The holidays will be mandated. You can prove this in the Bible, in the book of Ezekiel, for example, the book of Isaiah, for example, you will see that the holidays, all of the God’s holidays from Passover to Pentecost to Day of Atonement, are coming back with the millennium when Christ returns to this earth. Christ did not come to abolish the law or his holidays. Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. And you can find that again in the Bible. Christ does not change. Therefore, we see the verse from the God of the Old Testament, Jesus Christ, he says, Israel, I do not change.

Therefore, you are not consumed or destroyed. Because he was so angry at Israel, he would have destroyed them, the people of Israel, of their disobedience to him. He was going to destroy them, but he made a promise to his friend, Abraham. The person in the Bible is called a friend of God. And if we want to be anything in our life, it should be a friend of God. God, Jesus Christ, promised Abraham that he would be the father of the most blessed nations of the world. And so, because Christ does not change, the people were not destroyed. I do not change. Therefore, Israel, you are not destroyed. That’s a great blessing, and that’s a great friendship that this God that became Jesus Christ had with a man like you and me, a person of Abraham. But getting back to what does the day and the calendar represent in your life? I started or I ended yesterday by saying, when you are born, it’s a spark of life. It’s light, like the spark of the sunlight. You are born as being represented in the day. When you look at a 24-hour day, it represents your entire life cycle. Listen to this.

You are born at the beginning of the sunlight in the morning. You are a child for four or five hours of the day, represents your childhood, early morning, breakfast time, nine o’clock, ten o’clock. Then by noontime, a little before maybe, it represents your adulthood. You’re now an adult, and you’re making a living. You’re married, you have children of your own, and you’re in the prime of your life, and that is noontime-ish all the way up until five, five-thirty at night before sunset happens. That represents the daytime. It represents the middle age of your life, the time when you do the most work, the time that you do the most progression of your brain development of what you achieve of your life is during your 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s. Then comes, right before dinner time, comes the evening, and that represents the evening of your life. You become 50, 60 years old, and you realize, like I realize today, I’m 68 going on 69, that your life is basically in the past.

What you have now is a gift of God when you’re 68 years old, life you have left is the gift of God. When you’re 68 years old, it’s not nice to know that God says that 70 years old is a good long lifespan, because you don’t want to die in two years, and you’re hoping that you can live to be at least 80 years old, if maybe 85 years old. When you hit 60, the evening of your life, you realize that life has gone by you, and that things look different to you at 60 than they did at 30. At 30, death seems a long way away, but at 60, it seems a little closer. At 70, it seems a heck of a lot closer. So, as the evening of the day approaches, represents the evening of your lifespan. Now, what does nighttime represent? As I ended yesterday, nighttime represents the time when you’re an old man until you die, and when you die, it represents when you fall asleep at night. And falling asleep at night represents your death, and yes, as I pointed out yesterday, your death represents when you go to sleep, because the Bible says that all people are asleep that are dead. And you see the apostle Paul in 1 Corinthians, the resurrection chapter that proves that everyone is still in their grave to this day that has ever lived and died except Jesus Christ, that the dead shall be awakened and given everlasting life if they’re a Christian. They become immortal, they become God themselves, they become God’s children. But it’s awakened, because the sleep every night represents your death. You know, if you’re a parent, your children do not want to go to sleep at night.

They cry, they moan, they want to watch this show, and they don’t want to go to bed. They’re afraid of going to bed, just like you’re afraid of dying. You’re afraid of dying just like a little child’s afraid of going to bed. And you cry out to God, I don’t want to die. I want to live longer. Isn’t that true? Well, that’s your death. So, you go to sleep, and let’s say you sleep eight hours. You’re in the grave for a long time. You’re in the grave until Christ returns. That’s the plain truth. And the next day, when sunrise happens, it may be the birth of a new person, but in your life, that beginning of the second day represents the great light that people are going to see in the sky, which is Jesus Christ returning to earth, and he’s going to be brighter than the sun, according to your Bible. And when he returns, the dead in Christ will rise from the dead, and you awaken the next day. Let’s say the 24th hour and the third minute of the next day, that waking up in the morning represents your resurrection from the dead. So, the day is a perfect representation, a perfect symbolization of your entire life, from your birth to your death, to your resurrection from the dead, at Christ’s coming. Isn’t that amazing that in just a 24-minute lifetime, or lifespan, I would say, or time span, that you see the entire plan of God for your life? I find that amazing. You even go to the calendar now. Everything happens in seven months. Passover happens in the spring, in the first month on the 14th day.

Pentecost is like the summertime of your year, so Passover represents your birth, or the new year really represents your birth, and Passover and their early holidays represent your childhood, the newness of it all, the time when the crops are first planted, and they’re springing up out of the ground, and they’re little tiny crops. They’re like children crops. And then Pentecost, which falls on May 29th, is summertime, is when the crops are tall, and you harvest some of the first crops, early corn or early wheat, you know, 60-day corn. It’s the same symbol of being a productive human being now, starting May 29th, and through the whole summer, it’s your productive years. It’s when the crops are fully matured and ready for harvest. And then comes the fall, the fall festivals of the Day of Atonement, and then the Feast of Tabernacles, which represents your senior years. And then the Feast of Tabernacles represents your death and your resurrection, and the last great day of the feast represents God the Father coming to a new earth that is going to be formed, which you can find in the last few chapters of Revelation. It’s so simple, if you understand God’s calendar, that you will not get bogged down in pagan holidays and things that God is not happy about. God is not happy that you follow Christmas.

I’m sorry, but that’s the plain truth. God is not happy about it, because Christmas probably is the creation day of Satan the devil. Santa Claus is Satan spelled differently. Santa Claus is really a pagan god called Kemos in Babylon, in Canaan, and he was a big, fat, red-bellied god that people started this fire inside of this fake idol with a big fire, and they threw their children into it. And that is what the Yule, Yule means child, tied burning of the Yule log, represents, the burning of children. That is the holiday called Christmas, and you’re expecting God to accept that. That would be like taking abortion days and making it a holiday of joy. And if you can do that in your mind, you’re liberal, first of all, you don’t have God. Now, can you be following Christmas in ignorance and understanding that it’s the birth, in your mind, the birth of Christ, which it was not? You can prove that in the Bible, and any research can prove that Christ was either born in the springtime or more likely on the day of atonement. But the point being, if you’re following it and you don’t know better, God forgives you. It’s your heart that matters, not your sacrifice, not what you do. It’s what you believe that you’re doing right. God will forgive you. But once you learn it, and you prove it to yourself, and then through tradition and stubbornness, you want to stay with it, then you are in jeopardy of making God mad. There is no child that was ever born on this earth that had better Christmases than this man you’re listening to right now, Bob Barney.

I grew up in an idealistic home in the 1950s and 60s. My father worked day and night, different jobs, so we would have everything that he did not have when he grew up during the depression. I lived a fairy tale childhood. I had everything I ever wanted. When I wanted a pony, I got a pony. When I wanted a police uniform, I got a police uniform. When I wanted a marine uniform for Christmas, I got a marine uniform. Whatever toy I wanted, I got. We were the first family to have a color TV, to have a second car, to have a swimming pool. My father worked day and night so we could have what we wanted. So I was a spoiled child. I’m not saying I was a spoiled brat. Some people may think I was, but I was a spoiled child, but I know it. I had the greatest Christmases of anyone that I know. If you saw pictures of my Christmases with all the presents under the trees, we would wake up 3.30 in the morning and run downstairs, three boys. I’m the youngest of three boys. I had no sisters. And we would go down 3.30 in the morning and open up all our presents. And my brother Vic and my brother Bill and myself would probably have 15 to 20 presents every Christmas. Every kind of toy you could ever dream of. And I loved Christmas time.

We decorated the trees. We decorated the house. But then I started listening to Garner Ted Armstrong in 1975 and I did not want to do and believe what the man was telling me was the plain truth. And I did not want to because I realized it would take away my Christmas time. The second most favorite holiday of the year for me was Easter. We would get together at my grandmother’s house and have an Easter ham, which is just degenerate to God to eat pork in the first place. It’s condemned by God to eat pork. Think about that. God’s holiday, Easter. It’s not, you know, Easter is not the opposite of Wester. Easter comes from an old Germanic form of estarte, which is the pagan goddess talked about in the Old Testament over and over and over again, the asteroth poles, that’s called, the Easter poles, as I use in the plain truths Bible, that God absolutely detests people following Easter, which is really a pagan holiday representing the god Tammuz, who died and was resurrected from the dead and is the story from Babylon that atheists try to prove is really the story of Jesus Christ. It is not.

It is a perversion of the story of Jesus Christ by the devil. And that is what Easter represents. And I’m sorry to break this to you because, again, you have not known a person that had better Easter times and more family-oriented Easter times than I grew up having. But for four years, I struggled, from 1975 until 1979, not wanting to believe what I’m telling you today. The last thing I wanted to do was give up Christmas. The last thing I wanted to do was give up Easter. The last thing I wanted to do was follow holy days that didn’t make sense to me or Sabbath days. I didn’t want to watch Sundays anymore because I wasn’t even a Christian. I had rejected God in my teenage years of biology and learning about evolution. And then I listened to a voice that just tore apart everything I thought was real. And I realized what I believed was all based on a lie. And I’m trying to say this to you today. It’s time, excuse me, it is time that you look at what you believe and find out why you believe what you do. Because you believe what you do based on your education from your parents and from your school. And much of it is wrong.

And you can prove that it’s wrong. And that’s the point. You can go to the Bible and you can see what God wants you to do. And if you read the Bible as a book and believe the words on the page and do not change the words on the page to fit your traditions, you will see that you have to give up these days. I did. And do not think to this day, I don’t understand how happy I was to follow them and how hard it was for me to leave them behind. But I will do anything my God asks me to do, including these programs. I’m not gifted. I’m not a gifted speaker. I’m not a gifted person. But I have experienced it. I understand it. I understand God’s plan. And God’s plan is wonderful for us. We suffer a little bit today. We take away a little bit of stuff today for a lot brighter tomorrow. It’s a brighter tomorrow than what you’re ever told in the churches you’re going to. It’s a much bigger plan. You are to be God. Your destiny. Let us make man in our image. We weren’t made after the mankind as cattle was made after the cattle kind. We were made after the God kind in God’s image. We are children of God in the womb waiting to be born again at the resurrection of the dead when we are born immortal as spirit as God.

That is our destiny. Isn’t that far greater than what you’ve been told our destiny is? We are literally going to be God’s children. God. That’s wonderful news. It’s a lot better than anything I ever knew could be. And it was worth giving up Christmas, giving up Easter, and giving up the cherried notions that I had and follow the will of God and try to become God’s friend. Because to me, the greatest achievement I can make before I die, and I’m not there yet, is to know that I am God’s friend and that God is my friend. And God will move heaven and earth for me as he did Abraham. That is what you should struggle to find as well. A relationship with God that surpasses any desire that you have in your heart. And you will have your heart’s desire once you have that relationship. But the year represents the lifespan of a man. So as I said, why do we only go to seven months of holidays during the whole 12-month cycle? Because the winter time again represents the time you’re in the grave. Cold, dark grave like winter. And the springtime with the beginning of the new year represents when you will be resurrected from the dead when Jesus returns. The plan of God as revealed in God’s holy days and God’s daytime that begins in the morning is far more intriguing than the calendar we follow, the Roman day that we follow, or the Babylonian night that the Jewish people follow, which makes no sense. God makes sense. God gave you a brain to be a rational human being to use that brain to come up with by reading the Bible answers to the life’s questions that you have. The answers to most of your questions can be found in studying the Bible and praying to God. You know, if you pray to God sincerely, God says, those who seek me diligently will find me. God doesn’t say may find me. He says will find me. God is true. God is not a liar.

Humans are liars, but God does not lie. And God is not lying to you when he says if you pray diligently for him, you’re willing to give up everything for him or them. To be honest, it’s two of them. Then God, Jesus and the Father will come to you and they will start answering questions for you. And they will start blessing you in ways that you have never been blessed. And all of a sudden your mind will be open to the mind of God. And you will start reading the Bible and understanding what you didn’t understand just the year before. And a year before that, all of a sudden you’re going to read a passage and it all makes sense to you. Because the Spirit of God that has now become imbibed in your body is going to reveal certain things in the Bible that’s now going to make sense after you search for God diligently and find him. And your life will change. Your life will change forever and you will become a different person. And you’re supposed to be. That’s what baptism represents. Baptism represents you go down into the water and die and you come out reborn, not born again, that’s a resurrection from the dead, but reborn into a new spiritual being in the womb. And the whole idea when Jesus said in John that you must be born again, if you understand the Greek word for born again, you will understand it’s an entire process of the sexual act, the impregnation of the egg, the nine months in the womb, and the delivery.

That’s what the word meant. And so when we must be born again, we must first of all become baptized, get the Holy Spirit, become a new creature in the womb of the church, which is our mother, and someday after we die, or if we are alive during the tribulation and survive it, then we are instantly turned into a resurrected spiritual body and we become God. And that is an awfully comforting message because life is very uncomfortable. Growing old is very uncomfortable. When you grow older, as you grow wiser, you know, we live in a generation today where our children do not really respect the knowledge of elderly people. We kind of reject elderly people and we want to be modern and we, you know, we think of people over 60 as they don’t know what they’re doing. Instead of understanding that’s where all the knowledge lies, it’s soon going to die and that knowledge they have goes with them. So if they were smart, they would try to get as much knowledge out of their senior citizens as they could because they have experienced what younger people have yet to experience. There’s a reason for respecting your elders and honoring your father and mother.

The only commandment with a promise, you honor your father and mother, you will have a long life. That’s what the Ten Commandments has to be. The second part of the Fifth Commandment, if you honor your parents, you will have a long life. The only of the Ten Commandments with a promise, we are to honor our elderly people and realize they have knowledge. And like I said, as you approach that time, one of the things I would say, I do want to have one of these shows that’s going to talk about questions and answers that people send me some questions, and I can give what answers I have. I don’t have all the answers just to let you know. God does. So you go to God, you might get more answers than I have, but I have some answers. I’ve gotten 45 years into this and I think I can answer most questions, and I think I can answer most objections to what people think is wrong with what I believe. And I think I’ve thought through about every objection that you’ll ever come up with because I tried to come up with them all myself when I did not want to believe what I believe today. And it was a long time that I fought this, four years I fought what I believe today because I knew it would change me in a way I did not at the time think I wanted to be changed. And I tell you today, I’m glad I did follow and change and become the new person that I am because I now understand God. I understand my purpose. I understand your purpose and I understand the mind of God. And God wants you to understand their mind as well. He wants you to understand there’s a purpose to you and there’s a purpose to your life. And the daytime, the day that begins in the morning and the calendar that begins in the springtime, all represents the promises that are coming your way from the Holy God of your Bible. And I hope you find that God and I hope you continue to grow with that God and to learn to become the friend of God and invite God in to be your friend because God will be the best friend you will ever have. No one can do for you what God can do for you. God says in Jeremiah 32 27.com, go to that website for our fasting and prayer day for this country. But God says, I am the Lord.

Is there anything too hard for me to do? There is nothing too hard for our God to do. So when God becomes your friend, you will find a God literally willing to move heaven and earth for your sake. That’s a heck of a friendship, better than any person you’re ever going to find on earth. So that’s the end of the two days of calendar and daytime when daytime and nighttime is and the plan of God through his calendar and through his day, two days of study as we approach the new year, March 20th and the Passover, April 2nd and 3rd and the Feast of Unleavened Bread and the Feast of Firstfruits all coming within a month now.

So this is Bob Barney for The Plain Truth today. Say thank you for listening, and I’ll see you tomorrow.
