Prophecies of the end time include trumpet plagues and the return of Jesus Christ at the last trump. What does the Feast of Trumpets mean for Christians today?

Answer: The fourth festival of God (after Pentecost) is the Feast of Trumpets (or a "memorial of blowing of trumpets,")

Leviticus:23:24-25[24]Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, In the seventh month, in the first day of the month, shall ye have a sabbath, a memorial of blowing of trumpets, an holy convocation.[25]Ye shall do no servile work therein: but ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD.), which falls in September or October. This festival is called Rosh Hashanah by the Jews today. Ancient Israel understood that trumpets were used as a way of announcing special, very important messages (Numbers:10:1-10[1]And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,[2]Make thee two trumpets of silver; of a whole piece shalt thou make them: that thou mayest use them for the calling of the assembly, and for the journeying of the camps.[3]And when they shall blow with them, all the assembly shall assemble themselves to thee at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.[4]And if they blow but with one trumpet, then the princes, which are heads of the thousands of Israel, shall gather themselves unto thee.[5]When ye blow an alarm, then the camps that lie on the east parts shall go forward.[6]When ye blow an alarm the second time, then the camps that lie on the south side shall take their journey: they shall blow an alarm for their journeys.[7]But when the congregation is to be gathered together, ye shall blow, but ye shall not sound an alarm.[8]And the sons of Aaron, the priests, shall blow with the trumpets; and they shall be to you for an ordinance for ever throughout your generations.[9]And if ye go to war in your land against the enemy that oppresseth you, then ye shall blow an alarm with the trumpets; and ye shall be remembered before the LORD your God, and ye shall be saved from your enemies.[10]Also in the day of your gladness, and in your solemn days, and in the beginnings of your months, ye shall blow with the trumpets over your burnt offerings, and over the sacrifices of your peace offerings; that they may be to you for a memorial before your God: I am the LORD your God.).

In the New Testament, Jesus Christ reveals that before His return to the earth, there will be the blowing of seven trumpets, announcing progressive stages of the downfall and overthrow of this world's kingdoms, ending with the return of Christ to take possession of the earth. Christ's return is announced by the seventh and final trumpet (Revelation:8:2; 11:15). This day also pictures the time when faithful Christians will be resurrected to eternal life at the time of the seventh trumpet (1 Corinthians:15:52In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.; 1 Thessalonians:4:16For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:) to reign with Jesus Christ for 1,000 years (Revelation:20:4-6).

Interestingly, it was around this time of year that Jesus was born—not in the dead of winter (see "Biblical Evidence Shows Jesus Wasn't Born on December 25"). And the fall feast season represents the time when Jesus Christ will come to the earth again to reign in glory.

The remaining fall feast days describe steps in the establishment of the prophesied Kingdom of God on earth and judgment of humanity after Christ's return. The Feast of Trumpets is followed by the Day of Atonement.

  1. Regarding your extremely well written article titled “Why should Christians celebrate the Feast of Trumpets?”.
It is my opinion that America is entering extremely cataclysmic times, our enemies are already inside our gates, times as such that a lot of so called preachers are declaring that this is the end. With this in mind it is imperative that Americans wake up and study their Holy Bibles. The founding of America was no accident, it was the fulfillment of our Heavenly Father’s promises made to the Israelites. I took two items from your article which indicate who the message was to: Leviticus:23:24 “Speak unto the children of Israel,” and what they were to do in times of severe oppression: Numbers 10:9. “And if ye go to war in your land against the enemy that oppresseth you, then ye shall blow an alarm with the trumpets; and ye shall be remembered before the LORD your God, and ye shall be saved from your enemies.”
Add to the above instructions the following and America can turn these times around on the proverbial dime. 2 Chronicles 7:14-16 “14 if My people who are called by My name (Christians) will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. 15 Now My eyes will be open and My ears attentive to prayer made in this place. 16 For now I have chosen and [a]sanctified this house, that My name may be there forever;” amplifies our Heavenly Father’s message.
These cataclysmic times can either serve the purpose of destroying the faith of everyday Christians or become a blazing beacon to learn from scripture what can be done to stop the evil, what can be done to return us to our roots as a Christian nation. Our Heavenly Father has given us the directions on what we must do, very simple directions. I wonder if there are any preachers left in America who can take His directions and implement them with their congregations? This question regarding preachers is a question when viewed through the words of our Savior, will set alarms, bells and whistles off for any serious minded Christian. Matthew 15:1-9.

Some Pharisees and teachers of religious law now arrived from Jerusalem to see Jesus. They asked him, 2“Why do your disciples disobey our age-old tradition? For they ignore our tradition of ceremonial hand washing before they eat.”
3Jesus replied, “And why do you, by your traditions, violate the direct commandments of God? 4For instance, God says, ‘Honor your father and mother,’ and ‘Anyone who speaks disrespectfully of father or mother must be put to death.’ 5But you say it is all right for people to say to their parents, ‘Sorry, I can’t help you. For I have vowed to give to God what I would have given to you.’ In this way, you say they don’t need to honor their parents. And so you cancel the word of God for the sake of your own tradition. 7You hypocrites! Isaiah was right when he prophesied about you, for he wrote,
8‘These people honor me with their lips,
but their hearts are far from me.
    9Their worship is a farce,
for they teach man-made ideas as commands from God.’”

Preachers: God our Heavenly Father is not interested in your opinion. He wants you to preach His word. Study HIs Word and PREACH IT. Shout it from the rooftops. Yell it in the streets. Preach it from the pulpit. Preach it until every man, woman and child in America understands it. Preach it until every man, woman and child in America finds comfort in it and goes to it for guidance, goes to our Heavenly Father and says, “Father, Thank you.” and they will be ever thankful for having you preach it.
