Well, by now I think everybody is following these Texas floods and the death toll. Past 50, it’s going to be over 70 probably. There’s many missing, many children died. It’s a very, very sad time. And it’s a time when all I can say is, why did these things happen? Hello, this is Bob Barney with The Plain Truth today, brought to you by theplaintruth.com. And we’re talking today about a tragedy in the Texas flooding that came up 26 feet in 44 minutes. In some places they say it came up 30 feet in a half hour to 45 minutes.

02 And the worst part of that was it happened in the morning. It happened like 4 to 6 a.m. People were still sleeping in their tents and their trailers, RV trailers, cabins, and the river came up and just decimated people. Now, we’ve heard reports that there weren’t enough good warnings and already the Trump administration is getting some blame. I don’t think that’s the case here. I do believe that it is not a good idea in this new, big, ugly budget that they are cutting NOAA. They cut 800 employees already before the budget bill, and they’re cutting Hurricane Hunter planes. They’re going to still have the Hurricane Hunter planes, but they’re going to use them more or less often, I guess, for tropical storms. But that’s not the case here. This is nothing that Donald Trump’s doing wrong and nothing that Kristi Noem is doing wrong.

03 And the people in the press trying to make some hay over this, simply, they’re just not being honest with you. And I just thought I’d say that. I tell you when I think Donald Trump’s doing something wrong, but I think he’s doing what any good president or any good leader would do right now. He’s trying to get help there, and Kristi Noem showed up right away. And that’s not what we’re going to talk about today. But is there blame to go around? And is God to blame? Well, one of the things I think, and we’ve talked on this before, and I’m going to say stuff right here. I’m thinking out loud, and I do this because I guess if you’re listening to me, you realize I am not politically correct. I tell you what I think God says and what I know God says in his word, and I think I know what God thinks many times. And a lot of the times, many modern day Christians just can’t understand why these tragedies happen. They do not realize that people make mistakes, and sometimes those mistakes take their lives, even if they have God on their side. God will protect his people. But at the same time, we are in perilous times right now. I believe we’re in end times. We’ve been in the end times, according to the Bible, since the apostles. They said they were in the end times, so I’m not going to disagree with them. I don’t think this is the time of the Antichrist yet and the final tribulation coming upon us. I don’t think that’s the case. But I do believe there are all kinds of tragedies happening in America, and they’re happening maybe because God is not happy with how America is going and just not following godly principles and not following God and his laws and what God expects our people to do. I thought it was interesting that the district was Chip Roy’s district, one of the people that were going to vote against the big budget bill until he talked to Donald Trump and was assured to vote for it, and it hit home in his own district, this flooding. I’m not saying there’s anything there or not, but I’m talking out, you know, like I said, off the cuff. But I do think that we have to start asking ourselves, why did the hurricanes hit Asheville, North Carolina? Why did the fires rage through California and the areas of California which are very liberal? Why are some of these Republican districts being hit now, not just the liberal districts? So is God upset with the America or the Americans, I should say? And I think the answer is yes.

21 I do believe that if we as a people do not turn and go to God in prayer and confess our national sins and that we’re not doing good and we’re not doing good works, then I think we are going to have more and more disasters, and we’re going to run out of money. This country is a nation in decline. I had a program about that a few weeks ago, and it is a nation, an empire that is dying, and it’s part of what the Bible says what was going to happen to modern-day Israel. And the United States of America is Ephraim of the tribe of Joseph, and we are, in prophecy, modern-day Israel. The Jewish people are not Israel. They are from the tribe of Judah, and their nation was called Judah. You go to the Bible, go to Kings, Chronicles, go to any good Bible map from that time, and you’ll see the kingdom of the north is called Israel. No Jew was there other than some Levites, and the kingdom of the south, with its headquarters in Jerusalem, was called the nation of Judah. So in 1949, when Israel, which they call that nation today, when the Jews went back to Palestine for their homeland, they named the country Israel, and they had no right to that name.

35 That name belongs to the wherever England and America and our offspring are. That is what the Bible claims. And even in 1948 and 1949, there was controversy amongst Jewish groups about calling their nation Israel, because many Orthodox and very devout Jewish rabbis knew that the name that they were supposed to call their homeland was Judah, and they understood that Judah is a nation in the collection of nations called Israel, but the actual name of Israel belongs to the tribe of Ephraim and Manasseh. And that is what any Bible scholar who’s honest with reading the Gospels and reading the Old Testament, including Kings and Chronicles, will come in and admit. But I wanted to get back to this tragedy, because we’re going to have probably, I don’t know, 40, 50, maybe young girls under the age of 12 or 14 being swept away with these floodwaters, total innocent kids dying, and people are going to ask why. They’re going to start fingering and start laying blame. Now one of the things I’m going to get back to saying right now that I started a program with, that’s very important to understand, was there was warning. Maybe the warning didn’t happen at the time of the event, 4 30 in the morning, and maybe I heard a person saying maybe there should be by the, along the river, a way post that can sense water coming up to a certain level and then start singling a loud trumpet-like or bugle blast from or siren that would warn people that water is at this certain level, you better get up and get moving. But 800 people survived this so far, the account from the Coast Guard, and probably many thousands more. So why did these 40, 50, 60 people die? Well, one of the reasons, honestly, is they were in the wrong place at the wrong time and just did not maybe have the people that when the waters rose so fast knew what they what to do. One of the reasons my wife and I, when we were raising kids, and I got news for you, our children who are full grown today, they kind of resent the way we raised them because we did not allow them to go to summer camp and we did not allow them to get out of our our sight because we had this belief, and I still have it, and I’m sorry to say this if if you disagree with me that is fine, but we had a belief it was our duty to protect our children from the world and that we were going to be a shelter. Like God is a shelter for his people when they were wandering in the desert and he protected them with divine protection.

45 Well, when we’re a family we are just mimicking the God family. That is our job as parents. We are like God the Father and God Christ, and we have children which are the Christians today, or the people who follow and obey God and believe in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, and it is our job as good parents to be the bad guy sometimes and set down laws that children and teenagers simply do not want to follow. They want to be free like everybody else. They want to go their own way when they get to a certain age. Mom and dad don’t really have what they think is hip enough to understand what they need, but at the same time when you place your children, especially I’m not talking about 15, 16-year-old children, I’m talking about when you’re placing six, seven, eight, ten-year-old, twelve-year-old children in the protection of people you may not really know how they’re going to act in a catastrophe, I think you’re not doing due diligence. I am not blaming these parents. I am not blaming these victims, and if you think I am, I am not. I understand that things happen, but at the same time I do believe we are living in a time when too many parents simply are very liberal on how they raise their children, and they think because maybe they’re at a church campground that nothing can happen to them, but many people get killed in churches when tornadoes run through Tornado Alley in the springtime out in the Midwest. Many churches get blown down, and people, if they’re in it, get killed. It happens. Jesus said at one time, do you think the people that the Tower of Shalom fell on were any more of sinners than the people who did not die? And he says, I tell you now, and if you do not repent, you will likewise die. That’s first-person Jesus talking about that. He wasn’t blaming these people. In fact, he was saying, look at these people, look at their example, and do not fall victim of not paying attention and keeping yourself right with God, and it’s a very dubious thing. I do plan, and I think I’m going to do it right now. About nine months ago, I believe it is now, we had those terrible hurricanes that went through Florida and ended up in North Carolina, where many people probably died. I don’t know the number, and the destruction of that area was just unbelievably bad, but I knew something about that area. I knew something about Asheville, North Carolina. It is a seat. It is a place where satanic worshipers all gather.

00 It’s one of their holy high places, and maybe, just maybe, if you do believe in the God of the Old Testament, who is Jesus Christ, by the way, not God the Father, many misconceptions there, but if you believe in what Jesus did and said back in the times of the Old Testament, in the first five books of Moses, and then in the prophets, and then in the histories called Kings and Chronicles, and Joshua, and Judges, then you know that God held people responsible for their own actions, and many times, people just simply did not obey, and therefore, they found themselves on the shore end, and I wanted to say something. I was going to do a show, matter of fact, on my to-do list, and I keep postponing it, and one of those to-do lists for a show was a show on that little boy. Now, if you do not remember the story, and hopefully my editor can find it again, and maybe put it under this, it’s very short notice, and she may not be able to do it, but if you remember that story back in the flooding of North Carolina, there was a grandfather, his, I think his wife, but his daughter, and her child, her son, trapped on a roof as the floodwaters was getting ready to sweep them away, and the boy, who was a very strong believer in Jesus, as a matter of fact, he saw Jesus as a superman, a superhero, prayed to Jesus to survive, and for his mother to survive, and grandparents to survive, and he was washed away, and his mother, who did survive, and his grandparents, who did survive, saw that little boy, with all that faith, washed away, and I’ll tell you something, as I’ve had many shows on why does God allow tragedy, and I, we can play those shows over and over again, but that one story has bothered me for the eight, nine, ten months, whatever it’s been, since the day I read about it, and I saw the video of it, and I saw the photo of them on that roof, and I have to admit, I went away from that, and I even went to God in my daily prayers, and I said, why in the world would you have allowed this boy, who looks up to you, to die, when you could have done a miracle, and you could have saved that boy, and that boy, in my humble opinion, would be one of the best spokesmen, as he grew older, that you would ever have, and God is looking for spokesmen, God is looking for people to stand up, and show the right way, and God promises a protection.

56 Now, this child, who unfortunately died last year, he’s made it. He believed in Jesus Christ. He loved Jesus with all his heart, and it was a superhero. I know, and anybody who really understands God and Scripture knows, he’s made it. Unfortunately, I know the truth about it, or I should say the plain truth about his death, in that he is still dead. He’s not in heaven with his Lord. One of the things I heard people say, oh, these children are now in the arms of their God, of the Lord Jesus. It’s not true, and that’s what makes it even harder to accept, because if you really understand the plan of God, and you understand the resurrection of the dead, and when it occurs, hint, it does not occur when you die. It occurs when Christ returns. Every single person but Jesus Christ, who has ever died from Adam, all the way up to that little boy, and these people in Texas, they’re still dead, and they will remain dead until Christ comes and gathers his elect. The people who have died, who are not Christians, who never accepted Christ, or knew about Christ, they’re going to stay in their graves, they’re going to stay in that state of death, until after the millennium, when the great general judgment day happens, when people are judged by their works, and even though they weren’t Christians, or they didn’t accept Christ, or didn’t even possibly know who Jesus Christ was over these last five, six thousand years, they’re going to be judged by how they acted in their life, and how good or bad they were, and that is what the Bible says. It’s not what people want to believe.

17 It’s not what people want to follow. They want to tell their loved ones that are alive still, oh, Uncle John is in heaven now, and he’s looking down on us, and he’s watching over us. No, Uncle John’s in his grave. These poor children, these little girls that died over the weekend, they’re still in their graves, and they’re going to be in their graves until Christ returns, and that is the real tragedy. It is why I was very upset with that little boy who died, depending on Jesus, his superhero, to save him. It’s a very sad story. I’m sorry, it’s sad, and I don’t have all the explanations, except I know God allows tragedy even to his elect, if God decides to, and it is not us. He’s the maker, and we’re the pot. It is not us to tell God he’s doing wrong. At the same time, we have a right in prayer to ask God why that we don’t understand or we don’t agree. God is not trying to make us into a vegetable. He wants us to think things through. After all, we are going to be gods at the resurrection. I’ll be right back after a few seconds. This is Bob Barney for The Plain Truth today and theplaintruth.com. It’s the one place to go to try to figure out why tragedies happen, why things are happening in your life, your family’s life, and in the life of the United States of America, or the world for that matter.

It’s all in God’s hands. We just don’t always understand God’s plan. Come to theplaintruth.com every day. Go to our Your Health Today section or our Message Board or our Plain Truth main page, and you’ll understand what’s going on, at least to a degree, and of course, these podcasts every day. That’s theplaintruth.com. Thank you for listening. We’ll be right back to the show in a few seconds. So, these people, these tragedies befall us all, and it’s really bad when it happens to good people or little kids. I don’t believe there’s a person that at least has a conscience anyway that when things happen to small children, just absolutely are upset about it. I am very upset about all of these young kids dying over the weekend. I do think that there was warnings, and people maybe did not heed the warnings as they should. One of the reasons that could be is often the weather stations, the TV, local news, kind of overplaying so much that people don’t take it serious. I know when Tammy and I lived in Florida, we went through quite a few hurricanes, and almost every one of them was supposed to be the biggest hurricane that ever was going to hit, and they either missed us or when they even, one of them went right over us, and it was no worse than a tropical storm.

59 And then Andrew came when we were down there and decimated Homestead. I mean, absolutely decimated it where you couldn’t find a street one from another. And a lot of people were killed in that hurricane because they didn’t heed the warnings because Johnny Weatherman kept saying the sky was falling with every other storm, so people didn’t take it serious. We really need to make sure when we’re giving the news or the weather or warnings that we tell the people the truth, and we’re not looking for ratings because people die because they no longer believe in what’s being told to them, and that might be the case in Texas. But I want to finish this show with this idea that I have, and I’ve had this idea even before what happened in North Carolina, that God is angry with this country. God is angry with our presidents, all of them, with our Congress and our leaders and our religious leaders who do nothing but spill lies about God and about what God’s about. In fact, what I just mentioned about listening on TV to a minister saying these children are in the arms of Christ, they’re not, and it is wrong. I said one time to a person who was telling me what’s wrong with believing that, and maybe I’m wrong and maybe they’re right that they go to heaven when they die, and what’s wrong with it? I said, I’ll tell you what’s wrong with it. If it is true that these children now are in the hands of Jesus and their life is eternally blissful, they don’t have to worry about growing up, and they don’t have to worry about having children of their own, they don’t have to worry about going to college, they don’t have to worry about having a life and a job and something to look forward to in their life and learn about God and learn about Christ and do His will.

35 If you think for one minute that that is what you should be telling people when it’s simply not true, then you are saying that it’s better that these people died, and it’s not better that these people died. When I listen to people, oh, they’re in heaven, then if they’re in heaven, why don’t we just slaughter our children, send them out like they did in the Crusades against the Muslims and watch them get slaughtered, knowing they’re going instantly to heaven? Doesn’t that sound a lot like what the Muslims are saying about you die when you blow up a building and you become a martyr, you get 72 virgins supposedly? I mean, they didn’t know the 72 virgins were nuns, but anyway, it’s part of this lie about the state of the dead, and it’s plain to see in your Bible the state of the dead. You just have to read just certain scriptures, and I’ll read one right now. Just go to 1 Corinthians chapter 15, the resurrection chapter. You can all read it. I’m going to give it to you in the New King James Version, not the plain truth Bible, but the New King James Version, and starting with verse 12, 1 Corinthians 15, verse 12.

46 Now, if Christ is preached and that he has been raised from the dead, how are there some among you that say there is no resurrection of the dead? Even in that time, people are saying that you had an immortal soul, that you went to heaven or hell when you died, and Paul was asking this question. Then why did Jesus get resurrected from the dead? But if there is no resurrection of the dead, then Christ is not risen, and if Christ is not risen, then our preaching is in vain, and your faith is also in vain. Yes, and we are to be found to be false witnesses of God, because we have testified of God that he raised up Christ, whom he did not raise up, in fact, if the dead does not rise. For if the dead do not rise, then Christ is not risen, and if Christ is not risen, then your faith is in vain, futile, and you’re still in your sins. But now, going on to verse 20, Christ is risen from the dead and has become the firstfruits, the firstborn of the dead, of those who have fallen asleep. Now, I know a lot of people, a lot of theologians say that’s soul sleeping. That’s not in the Bible. Well, it is in the Bible. It’s right here. The people of God, or not even of God, who when they die, they fall asleep. There’s a reason they use that term. For since by man came death, also by man comes the resurrection of the dead. For as Adam all die, and in Christ all shall be made alive. But each one is giving in its order. Christ is the first fruits, the firstborn again person, born into spirit from the dead. Afterward, those who are Christ at his coming. What can be more plain than that? One does the Christians raise at his coming. Not a moment before, not when they die, they don’t go to heaven, look down on their family and protect them from heaven. That’s not what is said in your Bible. Now, if you go onwards to Revelation at the very end time, and it’s time for the time after the millennium, listen to what it says. You find this by the way, Revelation chapter 20, starting with verse 4. And I saw thrones and they sat on them and judgment was committed to them.

56 And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for their witnesses to Jesus and for the word of God, who had not worshiped the beast nor his image and had not received the mark on their foreheads or on their hands. And they lived and reigned with Christ for a thousand years. So they did not raise, and you saw that in Paul, they did not raise until he returned. And they are raised by the way, in spirit. You go back to 1 Corinthians 15, it goes on and he says, I will show you a mystery that you will be a spirit as he goes on. And this mortal body must become immortal. That happens when you’re born again. And today you’re resurrected from the dead. And if you’re a Christian, it’s at the beginning of the millennium. But listen to what it says in verse 5, Revelation chapter 20, verse 5. But the rest of the dead did not live again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection. Blessed and holy is he who has a part of the first resurrection over such. The second death has no power, but they shall be priest of God and of his Christ and shall reign with him a thousand years. Now, when the thousand years have expired, Satan will be released from his prison and he will go out to deceive the nations, which are in the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog. That’s probably Russia and Prussia or the Russian Federation. They went up on the breadth of the earth and surrounded the camp and all the saints in the beloved city and fire came down from God out of heaven and devoured them. So what you can see with your own Bible here, if you want to read it for yourself, number one, go to 1 Corinthians 15, understand that entire chapter, then go to Revelation chapter 20 and understand how that works exactly with 1 Corinthians 15 about the state of the dead. The dead are dead until Christ returns. Now, these little children, if they believed in Jesus, even though they didn’t have baptism maybe or born again experiences, people want to call it, which is not even a true experience. It’s just the conversion, accepting Christ and accepting him as their Lord and Savior. They’re going to be with Jesus Christ and with everyone else who are true Christians at the first day of the millennium, even though they were children and never had a chance to grow up.

34 But many people that are simply not obeying Christ now, and they’re not considered his, they say they’re Christians. We also talked in previous shows how Jesus said, many will come in vain, they will worship me following the traditions of men instead of the doctrines of God and the commandments of God. And he will say to them, away with me, you who practice lawlessness, meaning sinning, because sin is breaking God’s law. There’s only one thing that is God’s law, and that’s the 10 including the Sabbath day. But we see, and we should be very diligent and tell the people the truth about the state of the dead. The dead is dead until Christ returns. And if they’re not Christians, they do not come to judgment until after the 1,000 years and the devil is put away. That is the good news. That is the gospel of Jesus Christ. And that’s what I am going to keep saying and talking about on these programs. I’m not going to give you a Betty Bye fake news, or should I say fake gospel, a rendition of the state of the dead. They’re all in heaven now with Jesus, and they’re really happy. No, they’re dead. And that’s the tragedy of this whole thing. This is why we have to, as parents and as leaders of the church, understand our responsibilities to try to bring the young, innocent people, like the young members of our church, along and protect them from the evil one. That is our job, to try to do as God does for us more successfully than we can do to protect his people. We’re to protect our family, and our pastors are supposed to be protecting their church with the plain truth. That’s all I have to say. I’m very sorry. I pray for these poor souls that are passed away in Texas, and especially the children. It’s a very sad day for me, and it’s very sad to talk about, but it needs to be talked about, and death needs to be understood.

01 That is what we’re going to be doing with the plain truth constantly. A lot of people do not want to hear it, and they’re going to tune off. And I’m sorry, but I have to say what’s in the Bible. And the Bible is not what is being talked about in most of the churches in the United States, and the world today. Well, that’s the show for today. God bless those people who are still alive, who are going to need a lot of comfort, and a lot of help. And I hope they get it, and I hope we remember this day, and we maybe go to God in prayer, and ask for national forgiveness of our sins, and of our lawlessness. And maybe we will find some sort of, what should I say, relief by God for our sins. Forgiveness, that is. This is Bob Barney for theplaintruth.com, and The Plain Truth today, saying thank you for listening. We’ll be back tomorrow, and God bless you all. Bye-bye.
