Are you aware what Real ID is and that star on your license that you carry, most likely? Hi, Bob Barney here with The Plain Truth Today, brought to you by theplaintruth.com, and we’re going to talk a little bit today about Big Brother, Real ID, and what it could mean to you.

 Back in 2001, when we were attacked and the World Trade Towers fell, the Patriot Act by the Bush administration, put through by a Republican Congress at the time, was supposed to save us from our enemies when actually it turned our government into the enemy of the average American out there who’s just trying to do the right thing. One of the things that they put in place back then that they were going to try to adopt was something called Real ID, and it was an identification, a identification system that would guarantee you are who you claim to be, and that is a very important topic, and many people saw that as good because they saw that was a way that intended to enhance security.

2:23 It raised significant concerns, however, about the privacy of those people and what they had to give up to get that star on their license. Critics argue, and it could lead to increased government surveillance, by the way, that data breaches, identity theft, as well as potentially creating a bureaucratic nightmare. Do you want a government, AI-controlled government bureaucrat having all this information about you and then by mistake deciding you are a terrorist when you are not, and then you never can get it off your record? It’s on that little license of you and that barcode on the back of your license. Do you think the government can make mistakes? Do you think the government is foolproof? Do you think the government is even capable of not making mistakes because it’s just a real problem? The Real ID Act has been criticized by many for moving the United States closer to a national identification system, the mark of the beast, which raises concerns about government overreach and abuse. By requiring requiring states to share data with federal databases, Real ID could expose personal information to government agencies, and this is everybody who has access to that information within agencies. Husbands or wives can look at their wives or husbands after their divorced records and know what they’re doing all the time because they’re tracking them.

Now your big brother is tracking everything you do. A national ID system, even one based on existing driver’s license, could become a target for identity thieves. You don’t think that’s going to happen too? While Real ID is not intended to exclude anyone, critics worry it could disproportionately impact certain groups such as the undocumented immigrants. That’s what it’s really for, supposedly, right now, why Donald Trump changed his mind from 2016. Do you know he ran for president and he ran for president saying he would never ever allow Real ID to take place, but now he’s seeing it as a way that he can get these people deported he wants to deport, you know, the guy mowing your lawn that he decides is worse than the criminals, like the terrorists that are sleeper cells from Iran, that there’s thousands of them in this country, which the day after we bombed Iran, we were able to find, I don’t know, 50 or 100 of them instantly whenever we wanted to find them, but now all of a sudden we can’t find them again. We’re back to arresting gardeners and maids.

4:34 Where are all the MS-16 and 13, whatever they’re called, where are all these arrests going on? Seems to me the rest that we’re seeing is just plain old, what we would call illegal immigrants that are not supposed to be here. And I don’t disagree that we should make sure that if these people are not supposed to be here, we have to find out, should they be allowed to stay here based on some type of criteria or should they be deported? But at the same time, should we not, and did you not, when you voted for Donald Trump, if you did, did you not assume at least that the people that were going to be deported at first were all the criminals over here, the criminal gang members and the serial killers and the killers and the people causing death and mayhem all across the country? Weren’t you under the impression that’s who we were going to go after? Didn’t we listen to on all the news channels like Fox News and the right-leaning news agencies that America’s open Mexican border just allowed all sorts of terrorists on the terrorist watch list to cross into the United States and there were sleeper cells everywhere? Yet when the arrest from ICE started occurring about three months ago, you didn’t hear of one Iranian, for example, or Pakistani, for example, or any Muslim being arrested and being deported or sent to El Salvador. You were listening to what they say were gang members and some of them, I’m sure, were, but the vast majority of what I see being arrested are people who had speeding tickets and they were illegal.

And I don’t believe that the United States of America right now needs to spend its resources trying to get Hector, your gardener, and the guy mowing your lawn out of the country, you know, millions of dollars per person. And that’s what’s going on here. And so the reason that the Trump people changed on the real ID was very simply, they wanted to make sure that this would be a way to make it easier for them to deport people. That’s not really what I’m talking about when I’m talking about real ID. I’m talking about how about the innocent people, the yous and the mes. We’re not illegal. We’re not breaking the law. Why should we have to be treated like a criminal and our information be given to a government? This is what, by the way, our forefathers, we just came out of July 4th, right? Celebrating Independence Day, freedom, liberty. That’s what we are supposed to be celebrating. Well, one of the things that our forefathers would absolutely roll over in their graves is the Patriot Act or this real ID. I’m going to play for you a brief audio on real ID, some of the background. Instead of me just restating it, I’ll let the person that I was going to copy, let him talk for himself. And this is about real ID. Today, after nearly two decades of implementation and delays, the federal government’s new identification requirements for traveling by plane domestically or entering federal buildings technically go into effect. This federally compliant ID card known as real ID can only be attained with specific records and documents laid out by the federal government. By the way, it’s labeled by a black or gold star in the upper right corner. Even though DHS Secretary Kristi Noem promised that at least initially people without a real ID will only have to face some extra scrutiny at security checkpoints. It’s safe to assume that as the full requirement sets in over the next several weeks and months, some number of people will show up to airports unaware that they no longer have the documents required to board their plane. And because the process of getting through most domestic airports was grueling enough before the deadline, many expect air travel to be especially arduous during the transition. Because of the absoluteness of this new requirement and the harsh punishment for non-compliance, just picture what would happen to you if you tried to get into a federal building or onto a plane without the accepted forms of ID.

8:56 It can be easy to write off the real ID requirement as some new rule that, while annoying, is probably being implemented for a good reason. It’s not. As mentioned before, the Real ID Act was passed 20 years ago in 2005.It was one of the many measures rolled out in the wake of the 9-11 attacks that was presented to the public as being necessary to ensure that similar attacks would never happen again. The original bill specified that the federal government would refuse to accept any form of ID that did not meet the requirements Congress had passed by May of 2008. But as that date drew closer, few states had implemented the new provisions. Some governors had vocally refused to comply because they opposed what was, in effect, the implementation of a national identification database. That prompted the Department of Homeland Security to delay the deadline several times. First to 2011, then a complicated range of deadlines from 2013 to 2017 based on age and state of residence, then to one universal deadline in October of 2020.Then the pandemic hit, and the deadline was extended again to 2021, then 2023, and finally to today, May 7th, 2025. If these new ID requirements were as crucial to the safety of air travelers and the American public at large as the federal government has claimed, the sheer time it’s taken to implement would be unacceptable. That alone is a sign that perhaps the federal government’s motivations are not what they say.And just to interrupt for one second, and we’ll continue playing it. I mean, it’s been over 20 years, and we did fine without it. We really did.

And it’s just another form of you losing liberty at the expense of safety. And you remember what Benjamin Franklin said, and I will say it again and again and again. Those who want to trade their freedom for security deserve neither. The American people are about to give up their greatest gift from our soldiers and from our forefathers. That’s not democracy, because we are not a democracy. It is our liberty. That is what we fight for. That is what they fought for. That is what the Bill of Rights is for, which this breaks, by the way. Let’s continue. If you look back at how and why the 9-11 attacks occurred, it’s clear that preventing a similar attack is at most an extremely thin excuse for this new federal ID system. None of the 9-11 hijackers used fake IDs or pretended to be someone else when they checked in and boarded their flights. At the time, an ID check was only required during check-in, and the rule was not always enforced. All of the hijackers who were asked to show ID presented legitimate forms of identification, mostly foreign passports. One hijacker was flagged at check-in because he did not have a photo ID. Two other hijackers were similarly flagged by a joint FBI and FAA pre-screening system after identifying themselves. But the government’s rules at the time only required the three flagged hijackers’ checked luggage to be set aside until they had boarded their flights, a rule meant to prevent people from sending bombs on the flights they would then purposely miss, as is suspected to have happened in the famous 1988 Lockerbie bombing. All three hijackers were allowed to board their planes. So it’s hard to see how anyone can seriously argue that some new ID requirements that would have done nothing to stop the 9-11 attacks are crucial for preventing future attacks of the same nature. The truth is that the real ID is just the latest chapter in the federal government’s 20-plus years of using 9-11 as an excuse to protect and expand its power. Washington could have pursued the most plausible path to avoid future 9-11s by calling off the completely unnecessary meddling it had been conducting in the Middle East.

12:26 The wars our government had waged, supplied, and bankrolled in the region had first strengthened the popularity of anti-American thought among certain radical factions of Sunni Islamists. Then, Osama bin Laden was able to seize on that sentiment and use his reputation as an anti-Soviet fighter in Afghanistan to convince a couple hundred followers to adopt his strategy of targeting the U.S. directly to draw the Americans into a war like the one he thought led to the Soviet Union’s collapse. And he goes on now with the politics part of it, and I’m not sure I’m gonna agree with everything the man says, but what he’s saying about real ID and how useless it would really be to stop hijackers tells you, and the idea took 20 years to implement it without any real problem with hijackers and American airlines inside of America, tells you that there was a nefarious reason why our government wanted to pass real ID, and why MAGA Republicans and why liberty-loving Republicans, Donald Trump-backing Republicans were against it for so many years, and now they’re just dead silent about it because the man who claimed that he wasn’t going to do it is the man who implemented it in full force. 15:23 So when we talk about the idea of what is real ID, well, there’s a belief, and there are many people, and you can go to just put real ID in a search engine, but don’t do just real ID in the search engine, by the way, because all you’re going to get is government propaganda from all the government agencies saying how great it is for you and how it’s going to save you from all this terrorism that’s going on. Just ain’t going to happen. But anyway, that’s what you’re going to be told if you do that. So when you do a search on real ID, just put this word in front of it, the dangers of real ID, and then a whole morgues board of articles are going to show up that might give you some ideas of what’s going to happen with real ID. And one of the things that I think many people are assuming, and I believe that Donald Trump is going to use his stolen election of 2020 to promote real ID for elections, you’re seeing now where Republicans want you to have to prove who you are with your license in order to vote. And I have been for that. I believe you should be able to show who you are. And even if you have to sign an affidavit that you are who you are and if you’re lying, then you should go to prison. Threat of prison is probably better than forcing people to give up all their constitutional rights, by the way. But you’re going to come to a day, and I read this on three or four sites, you’re going to come to a day when your real ID is going to be necessary in order for you to buy or sell anything, to vote or to go and get anything. And I’m going to read something to you. This is from a website, the New York Civil Liberties Union, a very liberal group, but doesn’t mean that they don’t have some points here that I think are well taken. Real ID act is a real threat to privacy. Real ID threatens privacy in two ways. First, it consolidates Americans’ personal information into a network of interlinking databases accessible to the federal government and bureaucrats throughout the 50 states and U.S. territories.

17:21 This national mega database would invite government snooping, and it will become a goldmine for identity thieves. Second, it mandates that all driver’s licenses and ID cards will have this encrypted machine-readable zone that would contain all of your personal information that could be easily skimmed. Do you watch these commercials? Bubblehead, you need to buy this wallet with the RFID chip in it so no one can read what’s in your credit card? Because the truth of the matter is you go to an airport and someone there with a credit card scanner can just swipe it next to your pocket and it can read the credit card within your wallet, within your pocket, and all your data information, including your PIN code. Did you know that? And that’s why so many people are buying these wallets. Well, so now you’re going to have an ID card that people are going to be able to swap, take all your information, sell it on the dark web, your social security number, your Medicare, everything about you is going to be in this before long, and you’re going to have a lot of problems, especially after a terrorist steals your information, and then you become a terrorist, and you’re deported because you are now going to be seen by our government as an illegal alien, which you are not, and a terrorist, which you aren’t. And that will be the excuse because Real ID says so, and it doesn’t make a mistake, and off to El Salvador you go. If you think I’m exaggerating, you don’t understand government. Next point this article brings out. The Real ID Act will be a real bureaucratic nightmare. We will pay for Real ID through higher fees and hassles. In addition, slow service, longer lines, increased technical glitches, repeat visits to the DMV, many Americans will be unable to provide the documents required for Real ID. And this doesn’t mean, by the way, that you’re an illegal, and that’s why you can’t come up with the documents. I bet you a good third of the people that possibly are listening to me, but I bet a third of the United States citizens born in this country probably could not come up with a birth certificate right away. I can, my wife can, our children can, we saved them. But I think most people didn’t even bother keeping their birth certificate because they never really needed it. Anyway, Real ID Act is an unfounded mandate, unfunded, I’m sorry, mandate, but now it’s funded in the new big ugly budget bill. Most of the cost would be siphoned from cash-strapped state budgets and out of the driver’s licenses with increased fees for your driver’s license. The final regulations slash this estimate to be $10 billion more a year.

20:01 DMV agents will have to make complicated judgments about a person’s lawful status in the United States when they issue the Real ID. I want to admit that a lot of real Americans will not be able to get a Real ID because they won’t be able to prove who they are, what they say they will be, and they will be denied access to the Real ID. But many illegal immigrants and criminals will end up with Real ID cards because they will learn how to hack them and steal them from somebody else. You want to bet that’s going to happen and that it’s a total fraud? Well, the next thing it goes on to say about the Real ID, the problem with Real ID, is it is going to be required for elections. So if you say, I’m not just going to get a Real ID, I don’t need to fly in an airplane in America, I’ll just not get the Real ID. Well, then you’re not going to be able to vote. And that’s the real catcher, that if you don’t have the Real ID, you won’t be able to vote. But here’s another thing. Banks have already stated that in order to open a bank account or cash a check or get a credit card, they are going to require Real ID for that. I want to go back in history and give you a little history lesson for those people who may not know this. When the Social Security Act was passed by FDR, it was promised because the Americans back then were reading the Bible and they were understanding what a national identity system meant. They saw it happening in Germany, by the way, and in Japan and in Italy. And therefore, they made a statement in the Social Security Act that your Social Security number was going to be kept private and that it could never be used for your identification. It could never be given to an insurance company, to your employer or to anybody outside of the Social Security Administration for you to get a Social Security check after you retire. Now, how many people today go to the doctor and how do you get into the doctor and what do you have to give them? You got to give them a Social Security number.

22:21 The insurance company that pays that bill wants to know what your Social Security number. Your Social Security number already is a form of the beast of the Bible numeric system and that you’re forced to have a Social Security number in order to be able to get any medical care or to transact at any bank. Think about that. And this is what Revelation 13, I believe, Revelation 13 has to say about the mark of the beast. And it says, “…and he causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand and on their forehead, and that no one may be able to buy or sell except one who has the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.” And here is wisdom and it’s 666. Well, that really means also the Sabbath day, because that is the mark commandment, but we’re not going to get into that right now. My point is, the United States government is toying with, and I believe Donald Trump is going to bring us into a cashless society. They’re going to try to outlaw cash. He’s already done away with the penny and he’s done so to save $300 million because we supposedly lose $300 million to mint pennies. But we don’t have a problem spending $300 or $400 million here, there, and every queer gender-changing thing that goes on. That didn’t get cut out of the big, ugly budget bill, by the way. But there is a move going by our government officials to do away with cash. Once cash is done away with, you’re going to need what? You’re going to need a credit card or some kind of a national card, identity card, to buy or sell.

Does that not sound like Revelation written 2,000 years ago, that you would have to have this mark of the beast in order to buy or sell, or to vote, or to do anything? Now, I personally believe that is not the intended reading of Revelation chapter 13. The mark of the beast that people do is a voluntary, a volunteered mark.

24:01 That means you have to accept it. Because you go on to the next chapter, it says for those who refuse to accept that mark, they’re going to be blessed by God. Only the ones who accepted the mark will have all the terror coming to them from the angels of God. So that tells you it is going to be something that you can deny. And I don’t see how anybody can deny their Social Security number right now, or anybody really can deny this national identity card, real ID card that’s coming. But it is coming, and it is a dangerous concept, my friends. And it’s going further down this totalitarian line that this government, your government, and this president is following. Hence, the show on our leaders are causing our demise along with our people. Our godless people and our absolute demonic and aggressively demonic evil rulers that we have, who are just bidding for the devil and his mark in this country, is going to cause this country to collapse. It’s going to collapse within. We’re going to go into a civil war type situation where many people will rebel. And I’m afraid to say this country is in its final pangs of collapse. We are collapsing as an empire. We are going down the road to destruction and debt and poverty and famine and pestilence. Just go to Deuteronomy 28, Leviticus 26, if you want to know the fate of America. You want to know the fate of America? Just go to those and read about all the things that are going to happen to this nation, according to God, way back in Leviticus 26, when we refuse to follow God, obey God, and worship God alone, and to give our God-given rights over to some AI-inspired bureaucrat, which is going to be very happily taking away your rights and putting you in chains, just as that happened to the ancient Israelites when the Assyrian people invaded Israel to the north, Samaria, and they put them in chains and took them away as slaves. And eventually they went through the Caucasus Mountains and went into Western Europe and became the nations of Denmark and Netherlands and Reuben, France and England and Scotland, and later on America, Canada, Australia. These are all the lost tribes of Israel today, and we just never learn our lesson.

God’s people just simply keep following the same paths of destruction they have always followed, and I just hope that people yet wake up, because God can delay. God can change his mind of the destruction that’s coming to this country, or God can delay for a while. You see this again when you read the books of Kings and Chronicles, how because there was a good king, God promised four more generations, even though the next three were bad, because God will give us time to change our ways. God wants to give us all the time in the world to follow and obey him, and we keep stubbornly refusing to do so, and we are paying for it right now with all of these natural disasters that’s happening to us, the calamities that’s happened to us, and the inflation that’s coming, the devaluing of our money that’s coming, poverty that’s coming, pestilence and disease that is coming, all caused by our leaders who are not our friends, they are not people to look up to, and our people who just simply want to live for themselves, live for today, and the hell with tomorrow, and you know the famous bumper sticker, I’m spending my grandchildren’s inheritance, written by the most self-centered generation of our recent memory of history, that the 60s hippie generation has become this greedy old people who want to even rob their wealth away from their own children and grandchildren, and boast about it on a bumper sticker. That is the people we have voting in this country, the people we have abusing others in this country, and the problems that this country is facing when it comes to its relationship with our God. I’m sorry that I have to give this kind of information, because it doesn’t seem like anybody else wants to talk about it.

27:56 They want to bury their head in the sand like some ostrich, and they want to make believe it isn’t going to happen to them, or to this country, and it is. It’s going to happen unless we repent, go to God in prayer, and repentance, and fasting, and mourning, and confessing our sins, our national sins, and asking God to find good leaders for us, and get rid of the bad, and to change our hearts, and to change the projection that this nation is following. Well, that’s all I got to say about today. I want to finish up by just again mentioning that theplaintruth.com is the only place you’re hearing this kind of stuff, and I know a lot of people don’t want to hear it. I’m never going to have a big audience because of it, but if you are listening to it, in my opinion, you’re listening to what God wants you to know. God doesn’t talk to me.
