A sad day for friends and family of the man sometimes called the Dark Prince of Washington. CNN reports:
Conservative
columnist and former CNN "Crossfire" co-host Robert Novak has died
after a year-long battle with cancer, his family announced Tuesday. He
was 78.Novak retired in August 2008 after being diagnosed with
a malignant brain tumor. He was a longtime columnist for the Chicago
Sun-Times and a regular commentator for CNN for 25 years, beginning
when the network launched in 1980.
His newspaper, the Sun-Times published a warm tribute, and listed details of his memorial mass, to be held in Washington.
"Bob was always the pro, no matter what he had going on he was always
at the ready to help out on stories, and he broke more than his share.
Even as he became a national figure he was always proud to be part of
the Sun-Times and we were proud of him," said Don Hayner, Editor in
Chief of the Chicago Sun-Times.R.I.P Mr. Novak.I grew up watching you as a kid on Crossfire.
