The recent deadly attack on the French newspaper, Charlie Hebdo, by Islamist terrorists has not only sparked international protests against terrorism; but it has ignited a conversation on the issue of Religious Liberty.

While many, including Gerard Biard, editor-in-chief of Charlie Hebdo, have expressed their vehement support in favor of free speech and religious expression; others sound an alarm for the curtailment of such rights. Pope Francis is one of those in the latter camp.
Even as he voices his opinion for restricted civil and religious liberties, he continues his campaign for world-wide state and religious unity. In the name of peace, he is not only striving for universal church/state union; but is positioning himself to become its sole, authoritative leader. Watch his moves.
