Hello, this is Bob Barney with The Plain Truth today. What is all of the news about that we are hearing today surrounding the Jews of the modern state of Israel and anti-Semitism?
What is the war between the modern Jewish state of Israel and Hamas, for example, or Iran and now Hezbollah?
What is all this going to mean to us and what is going to happen and how will it affect your life?
The Plain Truth is that the world, including your very life, will be involved in some very difficult times ahead.
Do you know, for example that the Crusades were actually fought between the King of the North and the King of the South, the same two characters that you find in the Bible, in the book of Daniel? So just who is this King of the North? We know who the North is from reading prophecies of the Bible, especially in the book of Daniel, and we know what they’re going to do, what’s going to happen, and to whom and by whom.
This is why I take a great deal of time explaining just who the nations of today are as they are mentioned in the Bible. Understand this, often names of biblical nations are different today than they were at the time the Bible was written. Yes, Egypt is still called Egypt, but the Israeli nation of Joseph, for example, is not called Joseph today, and Joseph aren’t Jews for that matter.
In fact, 10 of the lost 10 tribes of Israel that most people are somewhat familiar with, that have been lost in history, make up some of the greatest nations today in the Western world. Most do not know that. In Daniel, it is clear that in the end days, the Antichrist is going to come out of what we call today the European Union, or the EU, or the great United States of Europe, as it probably may be called someday. That is the King of the North from the book of Daniel.
Daniel makes it clear that when it is time for Christ to return, that the final battles between the Kings of the North and the Kings of the South will have occurred. We know this from the prophecy at the time of the end. It says so right there in Daniel chapter 2. It says there will be a revised Holy Roman Empire.
Now, how do we know it’s going to be a revised Holy Roman Empire when Daniel just talks about King of the North and the King of the South? Because he says it will be the last empire before the return of Christ. Nebuchadnezzar’s dream of an image recorded in the second chapter of Daniel was very prophetic for the end time prophecies and it contained both what was going to happen in the latter days, which you can call the end of time, or the end days, or the time just before the tribulation, and what would come afterward. You see this in verses 28 and 29 in chapter 2. The first three of the four kingdoms portrayed in that dream of this powerful king are only present briefly in history. They’ve came, and they’ve gone, and are never coming back.
However, far more details are listed in the fourth kingdom, which every scholar knows the fourth kingdom of Nebuchadnezzar’s dream in chapter 2 of Daniel is the ancient kingdom of Rome. The image seen in the dream was made of four materials, and in the last part of the image, we see the feet of that last figure, or that last kingdom in the book of Daniel, was mingled with iron and clay, and a stone was cut out, which you will see later in a noontime broadcast I plan on doing today, if God is willing, because I haven’t done it yet, that there will be a revised Holy Roman Empire, and this empire will be at the end times a revised of the original Holy Roman Empire under the Catholic Church, but this time we see that it will be weaker than before because its feet have clay mixed with iron, and if you know anything about clay with iron, it makes the iron brittle and very easy to break up, and that’s why it says there will be an image cut out of stone, which is really a reference of none other than Jesus Christ’s return, that will fill the earth after it crushes this fourth kingdom. It comes back, or Jesus comes back as promised, and defeats the Antichrist, the head of the EU, or the United States of Europe.
Beginning with verse 41, some important details coming forth in this fourth kingdom, beginning with verse 41 of chapter 2, are presented to us. This kingdom is to be divided first into two feet, and then into ten toes. The mixture of iron and clay indicates that the kingdom would be partly strong and partly broken, because iron and clay do not mix very well.
We can make the following assumptions from reading Daniel and extrapolating about the Holy Roman Empire talked about really in Revelation, and that is that already by the time Christ is returning, it appears like the king of the south is defeated by the king of the north. The final crusade between Europe and the Muslim nations will be over with. The king of the north will think he’s the god and will go to Jerusalem and become god of gods and king of kings. He will do the abomination of desolation as spoken of by the prophet Daniel, as Jesus Christ Himself said. But who is this king of the south? Well, the king of the south will be a great yet-to-be-announced great Muslim leader who will take over a new Muslim nation, maybe known as the United States of Islam. This power will span all the way across North Africa, into the Middle East, and all the way over to Afghanistan, Pakistan, and places like that. That person will be at war with the king of north, but the Bible in Daniel chapter 11 shows that finally the king of the south will be defeated by the king of the north. At the time of this happening this way, then the king of the north becomes the Antichrist.
The Antichrist will control the world, or he thinks he will, but it will only be a very short time. In the sky people will see a great bright light and that great bright light is Jesus Christ returning to depose this Antichrist.
