The King of the North in Daniel
Bob begins with Daniel 2 and King Nebuchadnezzar’s dream of a great statue. He discusses its gold, silver, bronze and iron sections, followed by feet of iron mixed with clay.
In Bob’s interpretation, these materials represent successive empires: Babylon, Medo-Persia, Greece and Rome. He explains why he connects the divided final kingdom with a future European alliance.
The stone that destroys the statue provides another central theme. Bob identifies it with Christ and the establishment of God’s lasting kingdom.
Four Beasts and Successive Empires
Next, the broadcast turns to Daniel 7 and its vision of four beasts. Bob compares these symbols with the kingdoms described in Daniel 2. He argues that the fourth empire continues through later revivals of Roman power.
Daniel 8 brings the discussion to the ram and the goat. Bob connects this passage with Persia, Alexander the Great and the division of Alexander’s empire.
These chapters form the foundation for his explanation of the King of the North and the King of the South.
Prophecy and Christ’s Return
Moving into Daniel 11 and 12, Bob discusses conflict, a future time of trouble and deliverance. He connects these passages with Matthew 24 and Revelation.
He also explains his belief that a future European ruler will play a central role in end-time events. These conclusions reflect Bob’s particular interpretation of biblical prophecy.
Throughout the broadcast, Bob encourages listeners to read the passages themselves and compare biblical commentaries. He also introduces his own Bible edition and explains its study notes.
The episode closes with his views on religious tradition, the Sabbath and following Scripture. Listen to the complete recording for the full study and the passages he discusses.
