Donald Trump used his speech to the World Economic Forum in Davos to attack EU red tape and tariffs. The US president criticized the bloc for treating the US “very unfairly” and taking too long to approve new projects. In his speech, Mr. Trump said he had “very big complaints” about the EU and had been impacted personally by red tape that imposed a five-year delay to a business opportunity in Ireland. He also took aim at European tariffs on American exports, complaining that the EU “treats us very, very unfairly – very badly”.
